Chapter 23
The next School day began pretty normal for the ICarly gang, Carly had banned the whole thing with the embarrassing video clip from her mind as good as possible and had convinced Sam to don't beat up Pete because he truly wasn't worth all the trouble. Of course it had taken quite some persuading from the brunette but the dirty blonde had finally relented, even if she deep down knew that this jerk definitely would have another trick up his sleeve but she didn't want to worry about that as the three made their way to their respectable lockers.
She quickly would regret not worrying about this whole thing anymore, as she saw a lot of papers with her face on it pinned to the wall with the not so nice sentence on it: Boys be aware of this girl, she likes to play around with guys and dump them when she's too bored of them. As she only looked for a split second at the last sentence, the web hostess pinned the piece of paper from the wall in anger fighting so hard to stay strong right at this moment but as she some girls deeply lost in conversation looking in a weird way at her she couldn't keep the tears at bay anymore. All this didn't go by Sam unnoticed, with a grim expression on her face she asked in the direction of some of those girls: "Hey what are you looking at huh? Is there some kind of problem?"
Now getting really mad at Pete, for causing his girlfriend that much emotional pain it was pretty hard for Freddie to contain his anger in front of the two girls and even if he deep down knew that Carly probably didn't want her boyfriend to get in trouble he wanted to set this guy's head straight once and for all by throwing some well-aimed punches at him.
Instead he now went nearer to her side, trying his best to comfort her just a little bit by taking her hand into his and as he softly gave it a short squeeze he gently whispered into her ear:
"Don't pay intention to what they say or think about you, because it has nothing to do with the great person that I fell in love with a long time ago." Thankful for that little pep talk, Carly forced a little bit of smile onto her face, tried to ignore the looks from the girls as she quickly made her way to her locker and got the books out for the first period of the day. Of course Sam was also fuming right at this moment and she desperately wanted to rip Pete's head off, didn't care about getting in trouble one bit because she was a frequent visitor in detention anyway.
The brunette had to fight very hard to keep up a happy mask, because deep down inside of her this all had hit her very hard and somehow felt like she had taken multiple hits to her stomach.
Pete watched this whole thing unfold in front of him from a safe distance, of course being quite pleased with his work so far. As Freddie and Carly were on the way to the classroom, Carly couldn't help but say in a very angry tone: "I can't believe that I've been so stupid in the first place, starting a relationship with that guy! No he tries to make my life miserable and I really don't know how much I can take this." Freddie wished so much that he could say something, that could make all her emotional pain disappear just like that but unfortunately he wasn't able to come up with anything useful right at this moment.
As they had almost reached the classroom Freddie took his girlfriend by the hand, she turned around to face him directly and finally said: "I know it's easier said than done but don't let all this childish mind games from this jerk get to you because that's exactly what he wants, he wants you to be a total emotion wreck just to satisfy his ego."
The brunette web hostess took one deep breath, the soft touch from her boyfriend's hand making butterflies flying around in her stomach and finally replied: "I guess you're right, but on the other side I can't let this whole thing just slide In some way I have to put an permanent end to this and no Sam not by ripping his head off." Carly said and shared a short glance with the dirty blonde, who quickly let her hands hang loose on both sides.
"Okay Carls I will certainly try my best to restrain myself when I see that jerk walking around school probably having a smug grin on his face." Sam replied and then the trio finally continued their walk to the classroom of their first class of the day.
Before the teacher Miss Reynolds arrived, Freddie then said to his girlfriend that said directly next to him in the same row: "I know that you can't let that whole thing slide just like, trust me I didn't plan on doing that also and we surely will find a way to put an end to this." Carly smiled back at him after he had given her hand one last reassuring squeeze, wanting to let her know once again that he would there for her as a moral support additionally to Sam no matter what happened. Somewhere else in the school Pete was moving forward with the next thing on his list to completely destroy Carly's reputation at Ridgeway High School: He started to spread the rumor, that Carly had cheated on him with the boyfriend of Sheila Wayne a spoiled rich kid before she and Freddie had become a couple. With the help of his great knowledge of Photoshop he also had went to great lengths to create a pretty believe able photo that proved his allegations.
