10: Tris
Training was getting harder to work with. We learned to grab and use the power around us, but I took us a long time to understand that some power around us could not be used the same. A lot of our time was spent trying to understand how to tell which one we could use for our needs. We spent the past 5 days having everything pounded into us. From how society works to how us our new powers. It was day 6 and I felt like I was dragging my dead weight into the training room. I barely noticed that everyone was waiting on me when I closed the doors behind me. The room felt like there was dead air and things are not good. I sighed to myself and tried to put a smile on, which probably looked like a tired smile with no happiness in it.
As they watched me, there seemed to be this awkward silence take over the room. I took a deep breath, trying to clear the air more and work past the uncomfortable silence. "Sorry I'm late, had some weird dreams that didn't help me get some good sleep," I gave a half trueful excuse. Part about being weird dreams, wasn't quite accurate.
The doors opened behind me then closed with a click. "Oh, there you are," the Goddess' voice was quiet and soft spoken. "Now the real fun can start."
Chills ran down my spine at her last words. Something seemed off with her, and her voice was too low for the others to hear. Her hands rested lightly on my shoulders and gave a light push. Biting the inside of my cheek, I walked forward, letting the Goddess stear me around the room. Once over next to the group, she stepped out from behind me. My senses told me she was tiny and frail, but when she stood next to me, I saw the hidden muscle and felt her true size take over. I took a deep breath, and looked at everyone else.
"So! To have fun, I think we need a change of scenery!" She opened her hand to show what looked like a purple, almost pink orb of liquid fire. What looked to almost be flames, didn't extend very far beyond the orb. The orb grew till it was bigger than her hand. She dropped the orb onto the ground with a flick or her wrist. Fire spear across the ground, opening up a blue vortex with the purple flames. Her smile in her eyes was like looking into the depths of the source deviance in the worlds. "Time for some True fun!" She turned around and fell into the liquid and her body disappeared into the blue.
I looked at the others, they seemed nervous. Feeling like it was choosing day again, I jumped like back then, where everything was easier to understand. I was surrounded by this blue light that seemed to want to take over everything, including the air in my body. I started to feel like I was in the box filling with water, where panic wasn't a far reach away. I gasped for air, but only found what felt like liquid filling up my airways. I tried coughing, letting it leave to make way for air, but only more blue liquid filled what remained of my air. My eyes fluttered, I was only seeing blue. This color of blue was everywhere, and it was a metallic blue. I closed my eyes, hoping this was just text.
