A/N: Back again people! I'll do a better job with updating now! Cherish the new chapter! Love you guys!

15 outgoing calls. That was the number of times Juvia had tried to call her friend. That was also the number of times her friend had not picked up the phone.

Juvia sighed as she dropped onto her large, comfy bed. She briefly closed her eyes as she remembered the scene she had caused at the bar with… what was his name? Natsu? Yes… Natsu.

Normally she would not be affected by what she did, but tonight, she regretted her actions.

The reason for this sudden regret was because of the look Natsu had given her. That same look Juvia had received a year ago, from her best friend till then, Gajeel Redfox. What had happened between Gajeel and her then had been the end of a 20 year old friendship.

She opened her eyes and stared at the ceiling. After the incident with Gajeel, Juvia had never called him until today. Not even once. But Gajeel had tried calling her thousands of time. But she never picked up the phone because she had been blinded by hatred and ego. And then he suddenly just stopped calling her. No more calls, voice messages. And Juvia had cared a lot but didn't show it. "Fine." She'd thought to herself. "Just perfectly fine."

The incident had taken place at a time when Juvias life was going through a horrible phase. Her breakup with Bora, all that self loathing and a lot more. And the minute she knew that Gajeel was gone, Juvia was furious. She had been furious at Gajeel for abandoning her, furious at herself for caring about him leaving and furious at Gajeel's girlfriend, Levy, for stealing her best friend from her.

Now, as she lay on her bed thinking, she realized that the only person at blame was herself. She wasn't Gajeel's responsibility ever since she had told him that she didn't need him. But Levy was Gajeel's responsibility. Levy had left her home and the last remaining bit of family to be with Gajeel, unlike Juvia and Gajeel who never had any real family and had met each other purely by chance. Gajeel needed to take care of Levy. After all, she was the girl he had chosen to build a family with. And Juvia realized that she owed both of them apologies. But Juvia knew that hoping for forgiveness would be futile. Even though she knew nothing would be the same again, it was worth a try to build up her life again.

She also knew that she had a lot to make up for. There were a lot of people she'd hurt purposely, just to enjoy their pain. She had truly been a sadistic bitch. True, it was impossible to meet all of them but it wasn't impossible to help new people. All she could hope for now was redemption for her sins by doing good turns.

It was just then that Juvia realized what she was doing. She was actually thinking about apologizing and fixing broken relations. She could feel something wet on her face. She touched her cheeks and felt the coolness on her fingertips. Tears, Juvia thought. She hadn't cried in a long time. The realization of being able to cry again, unbeknownst to her, plastered a smile across her face.

Gajeel stood in the kitchen, egg in one hand and a salt shaker in the other, wearing an 'I love to cook!' apron. His long hair was tied up in a pony tail, because his soon-to-be wife did not like loose hair in the kitchen.

People would have a laughing fit if they knew that the mighty Redfox, who bragged about everything, could only make an omelet for his fiancée. She had tried teaching him to cook, but both had realized quite fast that the only thing Gajeel could make was an omelet.

Gajeel groaned as he heard his cell phone going on again, indicating that he was getting a call.

The screen showed 'Juvia'.

This was the fifteenth time she was calling him and the fifteenth time he wouldn't pick up.

Gajeel ignored the screeching phone and continued making his omelet.

"Can't you please pick up the phone Gajeel?" Levy, his lovely fiancée, entered the kitchen, covering her ears, trying to shut out the noise.

"It's Juvia." Gajeel stated simply as if Juvia was a lifeless object.

Levy made no comment. She walked over to Gajeel and stood next to him at the counter.

"Gajeel?"

"Yeah?"

Levy took in a small breath. "Don't you think you need to settle your issues with her?"

Gajeel sighed. He'd had this conversation with Levy before. He didn't know how to explain the situation in a better way to her. "Listen, shrimp…" He started but Levy cut him off.

"I know you miss her, Gajeel. You don't hate her like you claim you do. You can't hate her. That's the truth. Hating her is equal to you hating yourself. Aren't I right?" Levy knew she was playing a dangerous game but this was for everyone's good.

Gajeel stopped the burner and shifted the omelet to a plate.

"You care a lot about what she does with her life. You were a lot more than best friends, Gajeel. You were just as close as siblings. And neither of you can survive for long without each other. Maybe you can because you have me, but she can't. Not unless she finds her life in someone else. Try to understand Gajeel."

"I don't want to talk about her." Gajeel's voice was dangerously calm.

"You have to!" Levy tried reasoning with him. "Gajeel! Listen to me! She probably ended up like this because of all this hate and ego! Just let it go! Talk to her!" Levy paused. "For me." She said almost inaudibly.

Unfortunately, Gajeel had not heard the last bit of what Levy had said.

"What is wrong with you?" He lashed out, exasperated. "I already said no! And no means no! I have to think of you, Levy! Juvia is… she's all messed up! I can't risk you getting hurt again because of all that venomous gossip! I can't… I can't lose you! I need… I need…"

"That's all in the past now!" Levy yelled right back. It was most unlikely for Levy to yell. "She was my friend too! And I miss her all the time! We did wrong too, you know! We only tried to be there for her! We didn't be there for her!' Levy took in a deep breath and continued calmly. "We're also at blame for this, Gajeel. Please understand. We need her in our life."

Levy looked at the trembling Redfox, the love of her life, struggling to make a decision. She reached for the phone on the kitchen counter and placed it in Gajeel's hand. "Call her."

Gajeel looked close to tears. Levy had never seen Gajeel like this and it broke her heart, but she knew that this needed to be done. "Do it Gajeel. Do it for me." She said it this time with confidence. The sudden confidence in her voice made Gajeel look up at her. She nodded at him.

Gajeel took the phone and dialed a number. It suddenly struck Levy that Gajeel still knew Juvia's number by heart. She smiled at this fact as she watched him frown at the phone, with a look of contemplation etched over his face. Levy was just about to tell Gajeel to press the freaking 'call' button, when she heard the doorbell ring. "I'll be right back." She gave Gajeel her best 'evil glare' and then laughed at his scowling face before watching him place the phone to his ear and then left the kitchen to get the door.

"Are you sure, Lu?" Natsu asked his girlfriend for the umpteenth time. Lucy wasn't herself after the run in with that blue –haired slut. Usually, no matter whatever happened, Natsu was able to cheer her up. But that wasn't the case today and that worried Natsu.

"Please Natsu. I need to talk to her, okay? I need some space. Please don't…" Lucy trailed off, at a complete loss for words. She loved Natsu, she really did and she knew that he loved her more. And after today, that belief went deeper in her heart. But she still needed time away from Natsu. She knew she was hurting him, but she didn't know what else to do. "I'm sorry Natsu. But need this. Please?" In her heart she wished Natsu would just say yes and leave. She didn't know how much longer she could hold in her tears.

"Well, I guess…" but Natsu was interrupted when he heard the door click.

Levy hummed a little tune to herself as she made the way to the door. She wasn't expecting anyone and so was quite surprised by this sudden arrival of goodness-knew-who. She opened the door to reveal a blonde and a pink-haired guy looking upset. "Lu-chan?" Levy asked alarmed by the expression Lucy and Natsu shared. Lucy didn't reply but walked in, pushing Levy to a side. Levy looked at Natsu but he was returning to his car. She was confused but closed the door and went after Lucy who she spotted on the Sofa in the living room. Something bad was up,and Levy had a gut feeling that, in the end, she'd be involved in this too.

The call from Gajeel surprised Juvia. She grabbed the phone and put it on her ear.

"Gajeel! I'm…" She started but was interrupted by Gajeel.

"Come over to my place and then we'll talk." Gajeel cut the call leaving Juvia perplexed.

She didn't understand why she needed to go to Gajeel's place, but nevertheless, she raced out of her house, got into her car and drove off to her old friend, wishing everything would turn out right.

Little did she know what was in store for her at Gajeel's house.
