Gibson just braced himself. The boy was riled and unpredictable, but hopefully his logical brain could prevail over this terrible teen, and make it see sense!
"Back off kid!" Another voice suddenly intervened as it leapt to Gibson's side weapons at the ready.
Gibson too showed some shock, "Sprx he's not dangerous." Gibson judged, trying to give his red counterpart a hint, though he only received a confused glance in return.
Chiro had meanwhile noted that the numbers were no longer in his favour. But then again this was Sprx and Gibson teaming up against him!
"Now I don't know what's rattled your cage this time kid, but sit down and be quiet" Sprx asked sternly, though suddenly he doubted his confidence. The kid really wasn't dangerous surely? But then he realised why! That look in the child's eyes had suddenly focused on him.
"Rattled my cage?" Chiro growled as he repeated the pilot's words precisely, venom dripping into every word that left his mouth.
"It's a mere form of expression Chiro" Gibson tried to suddenly explain. His laser drill hand changing back to their usual state. He didn't even remember activating that but nevertheless he too thought he had corrected the situation and began a different approach. "Maybe we could try a civilised approach about sorting out our differences." Gibson tried bargaining.
Chiro smirked when the blue monkey talked; turning his gaze from one monkey to another only seemed to increase the boy's attitude and confidence.
"Yeah kid we don't have to fight." Sprx chimed in quickly, when the boy refocused on Gibson.
"Shut. Up. Now. Both of you! For your information, we'll handle this situation, my way." Chiro informed both primates, who now seemed to be backing up to hide behind Gibson's desk.
"And what way is that? You want to fight us?" Sprx questioned stupidly.
"Sprx you're exasperating the situation too much, fetch Antauri and stop encouraging him." Gibson half pleaded, half yelled at the red team mate.
"Rattled my cage? I'm furious. Fight you? I want to annihilate you! And as for bloody Antauri, go stuff yourself." Chiro yelled smashing his fist on the lab desk that now safe guarded the two primates from the enraged boy.
It had been a little while since Gibson had gone to check on the boy. It had also been some time since Antauri sent Sprx to help settle his differences with the child. He was slightly concerned at this strategy, but he knew that a verbal confrontation would be the only way to settle this situation down. From his lotus position the onyx coloured monkey resumed his mediation, if in a somewhat troubled way. The normally stoic monkey just couldn't seem to settle, and it didn't help when Nova and Otto turned up too.
"So where is everyone Antauri? All the test runs went well. We have full control over the super robot's engine room and the neutron generator through the computer systems." Otto reported.
"And the training room is all up to scratch too!" Nova included.
"Excellent work, both of you. As for everyone else, they are currently trying to work out their differences, inside of Gibson's laboratory. I would say it would be best to not disturb the proceedings." Antauri stated to the two youngest primates.
Otto nodded, though his face was creased with a big smile. "Okay chief." Otto replied as he pondered no more on the subject, unlike Nova.
"But how?" Nova asked Antauri.
"Through speaking of course. I believe it will be best for all of them to discuss their differences in order to make a compromise." Antauri answered, as Nova looked to the locked down laboratory.
"So that's why they're in Gibson's lab, sound proof and private. It might actually work Antauri." Nova said as she turned to her two brothers.
Antauri merely nodded in response. "I am sure they are handling the matter in a mature and human adult way."
Mere seconds after this comment had left Antauri's mouth, a huge explosion shook the super robot.
The three startled primates turned as the heavy black smoke seeped from under the sealed door of Gibson's laboratory.
"Oh yeah, there getting on like a house on fire!" Otto cracked as Nova and Antauri had already raced across the room, in order to break the door down.
"Otto, quit joking around and cut open this door." Nova yelled as she still attempted to punch her way in.
Chiro hadn't quite registered what he done til he heard a fizzing noise. Slamming his fist on Gibson's work bench, may have not been the smartest idea. From previous experience, both Gibson and Chiro had recognised what was about to happen.
"Get down now!" Gibson shouted, pulling the oblivious red monkey down with him.
Chiro on the other hand, had a different idea. Within a moment's thought he suddenly lifted and pushed the work bench over towards the other two monkeys as they scurried on the floor. Blowing up science laboratories in school was one of chiro's fortes. He knew what was about to occur, so gathered a last amount of strength as he suddenly leapt on the desk he had used in Gibson's awfully fun quiz, hauled the ventilation cover off, and proceeded to escape.
He had got half way down, when the explosion went off. The ventilation shaft was surprisingly spacious, which helped him crawl his way through it quicker. But when the force from the blast went off he was rolled through even more of the maze, at a speed he didn't anticipate.
When he regained his composure, he realised he neared another ventilation grid. As he cautiously peered over the side to take a look, it was then he grinned widely.
He knew where he was in this tin can and it was right by the exit. Seconds later, he had booted off the grid with his good foot and cautiously lowered himself to the ground. He couldn't save himself from the pain of landing, but stumbled forward and to the door regardless.
He could heal later anyway. That was the least of his worries. With a push of his hand on the door, it slipped open, revealing the outdoor world. A huge relief lifted from him as he ran free. Straight out of the tin can that had been his prison for nearly 48 hours. His adrenaline levels were surging as he just kept running. He no longer cared about his foot. His determination and will to be free was just too strong.
