Hi everyone! Guess I should start with a sorry note, huh? I've been on vacation in Croatia for a week, and when I came back, I got the flu real bad… In the end I managed to squeeze out a few words to form this chapter.

Just to be clear, boat parties are my favorite things in the whole world! If you haven't been to a somewhat similar party - I feel sorry for you! Really, I wish I was at one now..

Also, a million thanks to everyone who reads this. I get regular hits, and am infinitely happy for that.

I don't own skins, and all the spelling crimes are my own. Enjoy!

Chapter 24: Specks

Emily PoV

I was fucking exhausted, the rush at the store today had been hell, and with just me and Panda working along with an incompetent lady back on stocking it was just too much for us. We barely managed all the tourists lining up and being difficult, presumably on purpose.

Yeah, I had managed to grab a few shifts in the store, and luckily got this one before I was supposed to start - which was on monday. I really needed money if my dreams ever was going to come true.

Today was saturday, and it's always busy at the store. I guess this day just were extra rushy. And then after the shift finished I had to run home to make sure the house was in perfect shape 'till my family came home this evening. Since me and Naomi actually had spent some time there, especially when we wanted to be alone, I had to clean a bit. Then I had to collect make up and clothes and such to make myself ready for the boat party tonight.

Right now, where I was walking back over the bridge towards Naomis house, I was so drained that I wasn't even sure I wanted to go. I just wanted to sleep. For days. But one thing to look forward to, was that Naomi had promised me she would make chicken wok to me which would be ready in time 'til I came back. I had sent her a message about whether she was finished when I was at my house, but she never answered, so I just assumed she was busy in the kitchen.

I walked up the stairs, dragging my big bag behind me. My eyes were drooping and every limb was hurting. I was so ready for that wok right now.

But when I opened the door to the living room, no food smell hit my nostrils. And one second later I found out why.

Naomi was laying on the sofa, head buried into the cushions, sleeping soundly. I sighed as I dropped my belongings down on the floor. So much for dinner.

One part of me, the one who was mad because I had a shit day at work and didn't get the delicious meal I was promised, wanted to wake her up to yell at her. But the biggest part of me, the one who was tired out of its mind and just needed Naomi to make it all better, made me neglect the other part. She really looked adorable where she was lying in some knee length soft pants and her top scarcely on. All I wanted to do was to join her. So I did.

I crawled on top of her and immediately found her lips with mine, and guided us so I was on top of her. My tender kisses gently rose her from her sleep.

"Mmmm, Ems." she murmured, her hands slowly drifting to my lower back. I felt her smile a bit into the kiss. "Am I still dreaming?" she said drowsily.

"You dreamt about me?" I asked, prepping up on my elbows, to look into her sleepy eyes. The blue of them was warmly comforting to come home to. She just nodded and leant up for more kisses, before guiding us so we were laying sideways, me against the cushions. She was deliciously warm from her slumber, and it engulfed me in a soothing way. The soreness of the day slowly ebbing away with every caress from her.

"What did you dream of?" I asked when we had become comfortable. She had one leg in between mine, and I was laying a bit higher than her, so she was looking up into my eyes. They widened a bit at my question, accompanied by a slight blush on her cheeks.

"Shh, there might be children around." she mumbled as she buried her face in my chest. A burst of laughter escaped my mouth at those words.

"So it was that kind of dream." I said cheekily, smiling and then kissed her hair. It was not often she became embarrassed by our sex talk anymore, now it was more a struggle to come out as a couple in prosperous way. Not that I didn't mind. It was hard for her because it mattered.

"You're mean, I liked the Emily in my dream better." she mumbled into my skin, but snaking her hands around my waist either way, holding on tight. Another round of chuckles escaped me at that, before I circled her shoulders with one arm and used the other to brush through her messy hair. It really was lovely coming home to this.

We stayed like that for a bit, she hugging me close and staying still, her head buried beneath my chin. I inhaled deeply as my nose was hidden in her hair, and the smell of her coconut and sea salt shampoo, along with the feel of her holding me like this, elicited a calmness from deep within. It was everything I needed after a stressful day, the safeness of Naomi to guide my heartbeat back to the safe territory it usually lays in around her.

I honestly thought she had fallen asleep, and I felt myself drifting off to the peaceful lull of her heartbeat, but suddenly she jolted a bit and came out from her hiding to look at me with wide eyes. My eyes was so droopy, I barely managed to look at her.

"Shit, Ems, your dinner!" she exclaimed.

"It's okay." I croaked out, holding her still.

"No, I promised you! I'm so sorry, I helped mum in the garden all day with carrying heavy shit, and I was just supposed to relax for like five minutes before I was going to make you dinner and then-"

I cut her off with a finger to her mouth.

"It's okay, Naoms." I husked, just wanting her to shut up and hold me like before. Everything I needed this moment was for her to be near. To heal me.

"I'll make it for you now." she suggested.

"No, please stay here with me. I need you to just hold me." I whispered leaning into her, finally feeling her hands re-clutch around my waist as she obviously was giving in to me.

"Okay." she breathed out and placed her lips gently on my skin as she positioned herself like before. I sighed contently and finally felt sleep tug at my consciousness. The quietness in her company washed away all the stress for today, and when I was finally stripped for everything, only she remained.

I woke up to some cutlery rustling in the kitchen. I guessed someone was being busy in there. I stirred in Naomi's arms, and she made an unhappy noise, and gripped my tighter. I smiled and kissed her temple.

Then Gina walked past us and stopped as she seemingly saw my open eyes and movements. Naomi was also waking up, although I suspected it was not something she wanted to.

"Finally you woke up, was afraid we were getting two boring rentals who slept their saturdays away. Not much youth to brag about, eh?" Gina teased, as Naomi grumpily turned around in my embrace to glare at her.

"Fuck off mum, you slaved me around all day." she grumbled, and I smiled of it. She was just adorable sometimes. Gina catched my eye, and gave me a knowing smile. She ignored the grouchiness that was Naomi.

"You two sleepyheads want supper then? Kieran is making risotto." she asked. In that moment my stomach grumbled really loudly, and I noticed how hungry I actually am.

"Settled then." Gina nodded at us as she obviously heard the noise, and disappeared into the kitchen. "It'll be ready in half an hour or so!"

Naomi turned back to look at me guiltily. "I'm really sorry about dinner, Em."

"No worries." I pecked her lips for good measure. "But if you really want to make it up to me, you can do something for me tomorrow." I grin wickedly. She looks at me suspiciously.

"And what exactly am I supposed to do?"

"Everything I ask for." I reply smugly. She sighs heavily, but eventually relents.

"Fine, since I was a twat and everything today."

"You're my twat." I say cheekily, earning me a small smile in return. Suddenly there's some vibration from my pocket, and I fish out my phone. I snicker a bit at the messages from Effy and Cook.

"What is it?" Naomi asks.

"Cook is telling me that he and Freddie has already started in the boat, which is docked with the store by the way. Effy tells me that she's almost ready, and if we can get our fingers out, we should make a move on." I repeat from the phone.

"Gosh, that was a bad lesbian dig." Naomi shakes her head, but I see the amusement in her eyes.

"So now I'm heading down to your room to take a shower, while you have to find out what you're wearing tonight."

"Why can't we shower together?" she pouts, "I promise to keep my fingers to myself." she holds up her hands as to feign innocence.

"Babe, don't promise things you can't keep. Also, I need you to not stand in front of your wardrobe for an hour to decide what to wear. I'm not helping!"

"Maybe I already have picked my clothes." she scowls at me.

"No you haven't," I laugh and kiss her pouty lips, "because I know you." I wink, before bolting out of the sofa and running downstairs with my bag, careful to lock the door after me as I reached the bathroom so she couldn't get in. Then we would never arrive at the boat before Katie came home. And surely enough, not one minute after I got in, I hear someone trying the door handle before a big sigh seeps through the door. I smirk to myself. She can be so predictable sometimes.

When I was done, I ushered her inside, so I could do the make up and so on in the bedroom. The sooner we were ready for supper, the better. It felt like my stomach was starting to eat itself. And it looked like we would be a bit late to the party.

We had agreed upon meeting in the boat at the dock an hour or so before Katie was ready. She had to, of course, redress and refix herself and so on… Usual Katie stuff before a party. I had called her yesterday to tell her about the plans, and, as expected, she was ecstatic. She, as me, love boat parties. The phone conversation was very brief, and I purposefully avoided asking about mum. I doubted she had calmed down, and really, I didn't want to deal with it before I had to. So I had planned on having a great night and then take the consequences of being gay tomorrow, or most preferably, next week.

The shower had really wakened me up, and I was now ready to rock this party.

I dressed myself up in a small summer-y dress. It was white with red details, stopping just above my knees, and showing enough cleavage to hopefully keep my girlfriends' attention on me for the night. God, I love saying that. Girlfriend.

I topped the look of with my black leather jacket, roughing up my fashion a bit.

Also, the red lipstick was a must. I made sure to take the whole thing with me, as I didn't expect it to not get smudged for the whole night.

Just when I was doing the last touches to voluming up my hair with hairspray, the bathroom door opened and revealed a stunningly beautiful Naomi. I stopped what I was doing and gasped as my eyes almost shot out of my head. While I was trying to get her attention tonight, she had secured mine.

She had a tiny pair of black shorts with a white baggy top with lots of cool patterns on over. But what was making the look was the slim suit jacket with rolled up sleeves she had thrown on. Her hair was beautifully curled, and she had dark make up that made her eyes really pop.

"Woah." I breathed out, taking in her appearance yet again. She smiled that gorgeous smile she always gave me, and came closer to tuck a loose strand of hair behind my ear.

"You look beautiful, Ems." she said while looking into my eyes.

And just like that, for the first time in my life, I believed I was.

"You don't look half bad yourself." I said cheekily as I leant up to softly kiss her, not wanting to ruin the newly done make up. My heart was majorly fluttering, I thought it was gonna burst from my chest as she gently cupped my cheek and stroke it while looking deeply into my eyes.

Soon after, Gina called for us to get some food in our stomachs before heading out to sea. We eagerly dug in, already being late and me almost starved to death. We didn't leave much gap between the mouthfuls to have a meaningful conversation with Gina and Kieran, and when we were done I instantly grabbed Naomi's hand and lead her away as we said our goodbyes.

"Jesus, eager or what?" Naomi breathed out, clearly too full to keep up with me. We made a quick detour to her bedroom to get all the beers and ciders we had managed to sneak buy from the store.

"Naoms, we're already late, everyone's there. I want to get there before Katie does." I explained as I collected all the bottles in one bag.

"You know…" she grabbed my wrist and spun me around before catching my waist. "We could do with some resting after all that food, don't you think?" pushing me towards the bed. Her eyes turned blacker by the second, and I soon catched on what she was doing.

"Oh no!" I grabbed her hands, firmly stopping her movements. "As much as I really want to utilize this …situation," I said, grabbing a hold of the collar of her jacket, monumentally getting in a staring contest with her cleavage before shaking myself out of it, "we really need to go." She huffed, but leant in and gave me an open mouthed kiss on the side of my neck.

"Later, yeah?"

"Yeah," I moaned, almost giving in. But then I got hold on reality and managed to get away from my enchanting girlfriend. I slung on my leather jacket and scooped up the bags with alcohol.

"You don't have any drugs, right?" I ensured.

"Noo…" she raised an eyebrow at me.

"Good." I smiled and headed out.

"Why do you ask, are you suddenly against drugs or something?" Naomi asked as she caught up with me, looking adorably confused. I grabbed her hand in mine.

"No, but we can't bring drugs on the boat."

"Okay, why?"

"If the Coast Guard suddenly should show up, it will get messy." She looked at me with big eyes at this.

"Ems, what are you dragging me into?"

"Nothing dangerous!" I exclaimed. "It's just that out here on the islands there are no police, like ever. But out on the sea there is, and we have no idea if or when they're gonna show up, so best be on the safe side, yeah?"

"Yeah, I guess." she replied, biting her lips while shifting her gaze forward. We were nearly with the store.

"Hey, you'll love it." I lifted her hand and kissed the backside of it before grinning at her. God, I couldn't wait to get out on the ocean and get it started. She smiled back at me, and I melted a bit inside.

When we rounded the last corner, we heard a lot of whooping coming from the floating dock.

"Naomio! Emilio! I knew I smelled muff munchers!" Cook yelled as he stood in the back of his big cabin cruiser. I saw the rest of the gang sitting around a table inside. It looked like he was out … unloading himself.

"Cook, that's disgusting! Roll it in!" Naomi cried from beside me, clearly being as distraught of the sight as I was.

"Chillax girlies, enough for everybody." He bawled as he tucked himself up and got done.

"You're repulsive." Naomi said to him as we had walked down to the boat while shaking her head.

"You love me." he grinned back. Typical Cook. But I didn't get as annoyed as I used to get. Especially when Naomi rolled her eyes and smiled back. I think I finally was starting to warm up to him, as much as one can warm up to one gross Cook. He made a move to help us get on board, but Naomi held out her pointy finger at him.

"Your hands won't get anywhere near us after what I just saw!" she warned. Then she ungracefully managed to jump on board before taking the bags from me and helping me over the rack. Cook grinned, opening the sliding doors to the inside. It was a bit cramped with this many people, but that was the charm of it. Naomi didn't look particularly interested in the boat itself like someone that's never been on a boat party like this would be, but then I remembered that Cook used to drive her to work everyday in this. I bet she'll get another experience tonight though.

There was some low music playing on the stereo, JJ holding the control of it while mumbling something to himself. Effy and Freddie were stacked up in one corner, almost looking like one person. Freddie smiled lazily at us while Effy gave us a small smirk in greeting. Thomas and Pandora were a bit louder in their greetings where they were sitting side by side by the table. And JJ gave us a nervous wave before looking back to his phone, clearly fixing something about the playlist or something.

"Bonkers, it's good you came, Cook said that you probably got stuck in each others buggle, but you look perfectly fine to me! Emsy, are you ready for a re-do of last years boat party?" Pandora said excited. I saw Naomi go a bit red beside me, but decided that if I let that side mark slip by peacefully, maybe the others would too.

"Hell yes, I've been looking forward to this since last time. 'Course I'm ready." I winked back.

Me and Naomi took a seat by the table next to Thomas, and I grabbed a couple of cans for us to start with. The others were obviously a bit further in the track than us, but I had plans about catching up fairly soon.

"That's the spirit!" Cook howled while grabbing a can for himself from a dirty plastic bag.

"Wait! You're drinking and driving?" Naomi piped up from beside me, looking a bit shocked. I guess I freaked her out a bit with that Coast Guard thing. Cook bellowed out a laughter as he fished out a pocket knife.

"What, ya scared?" he asked playfully. I just rolled my eyes at him. She eyed him with a wary look. In the end he held up his arms in a mock defeat. "Chill yeah, my boy JJ will control the ship while we get trashed." he said while clapping JJ rather harshly on his shoulder, making him flinch a bit.

"Oh, alright." Naomi said, a bit red in her cheeks, obviously embarrassed by her own panicky outbreak. I sunk into her side, resting my head on her shoulder while I sipped my cider. She casually slung a hand around my shoulders.

I catched Effy watching us with that regular I-know-it-all smirk of hers. Annoying as always. I gave her a look, only resulting in expanding her smirk. Fucking hell.

Suddenly Cook smashed the pocketknife into the side of his beer while opening at the top. The contents were flowing out before he quickly lifted it to his mouth and drank it all in two gulps.

"Fucking hell, man! Awesome!" Freddie grinned and gave him a high five while Cook burped out loud, making all the girls wince.

"Cook, you're crazy!" Pandora screeched. The funny thing was that in that second, she was the one looking crazy of those two. She was, as always, sporting her rainbow clothes and had an hairstyle that probably was invented two centuries ago. For three year olds.

Cook just winked at her, opening himself a new can, this time drinking it the regular way.

"You should watch yourself, you keep drinking like that, you'll end up looking like mr. Douglas." Thomas said to him, probably as an insult as Cook was obviously flirting a bit with Pandora, but it just resulted in everyone bawling out in laughter.

"God, Thomas you're right." Effy giggled (which meant she was already drunk), "he'll get the same shape of his tummy. Like the size of a wrecking ball!"

Everyone kept laughing at her comparison, Cook had tears in his eyes when we calmed down.

"Ah, but guys come on. Mr. Douglas isn't half bad!" Cook shouted standing up from his seat.

"He's like the biggest man out here! And his breath smells weird." Freddie scrunched up his face, making me snicker.

"It'll suit me though." Cook said thoughtfully, placing her hands like he had a gigantic stomach, "you know, big equipment gotta be under a big roof, eh?" he chuckled, before doing his classic thrusting motions.

"Coooook!" I yelled out to make him stop, but I really couldn't stop laughing.

"Who is mr Douglas?" Naomi asked amused from beside us. I quickly turned to look at her like she was out of her mind, before it hit me.

"Oh." I said in realization just as JJ picked up on it too.

"Naomi, sometimes I forget that you're just moved out here." JJ said, looking at Naomi strangely. "Mr Douglas is one of the teachers at the college. I personally think he is great, I mean, he is above average, and with a school this small, it's not a sure case to find someone as … supplied to teaching the courses that is at that level. Although, he's had a few complaints though, but about his teaching techniques, not about-" Cook slung a hand around JJ, making him stop rambling.

I was still watching Naomi, not really getting my head around that she'd been in my life for such a short amount of time. It felt like forever.

"That's right. You're starting college with us after the summer." Effy stated the obvious, while looking dead into Naomi's eyes. I don't know what conversation their eyes were having, but in the end it resulted in a twitch at the corner of Naomi's mouth. She turned back to me, looking at me with that look.

"I just realized Ems, that means we're going to be college sweethearts." she said sweetly, while her face erupted into a beautiful smile.

I couldn't help but grin back, and turned myself so I could look properly at her face. Her beautiful, stunning face that was all mine. How could I have gotten so lucky in the lottery and found this sarcastic, fluffy, quick witted beauty was beyond me.

We were still looking deeply into each other eyes, my hands had drifted around her neck, while her hands had settled on my knees who were draped over her lap, when the one guest we had waited for came bolting into the boat.

"Hey bitches, I'm back!" Katie howled, her high heels making a lot of noise as she stomped and bent down to get in. Everyone greeted her in their own way, but I couldn't rip my eyes of Naomi. I was caught in the blue swirls of her irises. Naomi's eyes were the most sensual about her. They expressed so much.

"Ugh, get a room." Katie scoffed, probably to us.

"Fuck off Katie." I said half convincingly back, never taking my eyes of the soft look on Naomis face.

"Well hello to you too, sis. And Naomi?" Naomi managed to tear her eyes away from me, maybe because of the small change in Katies voice. "If you hurt her again, I'll break your face." Katie said with a dangerous edge to it, but it didn't seem to deter Naomi.

"Duly noted." she nodded at Katie, before turning back to me, grinning cutely while eyeing my lips. I couldn't help but smile back as we teased each other, leaning in and backing away again, never really getting to the touch. I kissed her nose and laid my forehead to hers, my college sweetheart.

I didn't even notice that we had started driving away from shore, that's how lovesick I was around her.

"I can't stomach anymore of this, Cook, please do something." Katie begged from the opposite side of us. Me and Naomi finally broke away, witnessing Cook jumping up and down and howling until his neck turned red.

"Woooo! Fuck yes, Thomas, my man, fire up the music!" he hooted.

Thomas went to the front to sit with JJ, and fumble around with the music until some very familiar tones started filling the air, really loudly. Just the way I like it. Cook started singing along straight away, this being his song.

"Who let the dogs out? Who? Who? Who? Who let the dogs out?" Cook yelled/sang and bopped around. I felt Naomi stiffen beside me, and turned to look at her, her eyes wide as saucers.

"You're kidding me." she mumbled to herself, while having her eyes firmly fixed on Cook. I laughed at her, making her turn to look at me the same way as I sat up straighter and started to dance a bit to the music. In a pause in the music I downed the rest of my cider before opening a new can, sticking a straw in it, so it went down easier with the sparkling and everything.

"Blondie, I see ya doubtful face, come here sweety!" Cook beckoned Naomi out to him on the tiny space he was dancing on.

"No fucking way! And what's up with this music?" She asked, still shocked.

I couldn't blame her, really. Boat parties weren't like regular parties. It was not the latest songs that we played, and it was not about being sexy in a steamy club. It was about feeling the wind blowing through your hair while you sing out 'till you lose your voice to the most ridiculous and fun songs you know of. That is why I love boat parties.

"Hey, drink this." I said to Naomi, before taking Cook's knife and digging it in the side of a new can of cider, before opening the top and holding it up to her mouth. She immediately started gulping down the beverage so she didn't spill it on herself. In five seconds the whole thing was gone.

"Shit, that's effective." she said, while blinking her eyes.

"Whaddayasay, a dance with the Cookiemonster now?" Cook was still standing over her with his hand outstretched. She looked to me for an answer, but I just pushed her out on the dance floor where she was a bit awkward at first, before finding her footing and jumping around Cook while laughing hysterically at his moves. He produced a bottle of scotch from a cabinet, drinking straight from it, before giving it to Naomi who took a great swig herself before wincing at the burn at it.

"Jesus, Cook!" she complained, while making funny faces. The song shifted to Shania Twain's Man! I feel like a woman. All the girls howled out loud, and Cook and Naomi started dancing swing, hitting a lot of things while moving around. Effy came over, dragging both me and Pandora out of our seats before ordering Katie to take off her shoes and follow us up on deck. We sneaked around the narrow sides of the boat, careful to hold tight to the railing. Once we were up front, we started knocking on the windows to make them open the roof hatches and turn up the music. Cook's half body soon appeared out of one of the holes, producing four shot glasses just as Katie staggered herself up front. He lined them up and filled them up to the brim with something black and ordered us to drink it. Once we had, and felt the pleasant burning traveling down into our stomachs, he filled them up again, and disappeared down into the boat. I peered through the window, watching Cook, Freddie and Naomi dancing silly and laughing out loud. Thomas and JJ were sitting in the driver's seat, pilot sunglasses firmly on, and looking cool as hell. The sun was starting to set, reflecting perfectly in the glasses.

"Emily!" Katie yelled into my ear, and took a grip on my hand, spinning me around as the next song came on. I wrenched out of my jacket as we bopped around to the raw beat. When the chorus came up, we gathered in a ring and yelled as loud as we could: I got 99 problems but a bitch ain't one, hit me! before swinging our bodies to the music, not thinking how we looked. Others obviously did.

"Looking good ladies!" Cook yelled from the sunroof of the boat, tongue almost hanging out of his mouth. "I'll just leave this here with you!" he said, placing the bottle with the black content on the roof before disappearing again. I looked around me, noticing that we wasn't in Burrhea anymore. We were probably heading towards the mainland, driving around the bigger islands we find there. We weren't driving very fast, mind you, it was bordering medium or low speed, but that wasn't the point. The point was the feeling of freedom and the setting sun shining over the ripples in the ocean surface, and being surrounded by friends.

The next song shot me out of my thoughts and straight into the present. Fratellis' Chelsea Dagger blasted through the speakers, and by the sound of it, the people inside had gone completely 'bonkers'. Effy and Pandora was dancing some weird stuff on one side of the boat, while Katie was standing one the other side, taking selfies of herself. Hell no.

I walked right over and grabbed her phone. "Hey!" she complained as I went back to the pilothouse, handing it to JJ through the hole. When I turned back, she had her arms crossed over her chest, not looking amused.

"No blogging tonight, Katie! Tonight we're having fun!" I exclaimed happily, before hugging her. I really had missed her while she was away in France. Not that I needed or wanted to be with her all the time, but I had just come out to mum, and I guess I needed my sister.

"Fine." she fake complained, because I could look through it since she squealed happily at the next song and dragged me over to the others for a synchronized dance to Livin' la vida loca. God, I loved my friends.

That's how the next hours were spent. Or so I think, 'cause I had no grasp on time where I was letting loose. Naomi was inside dancing with the boys still, and when I sneaked a look at her, she was either drinking straight from a bottle of vodka, laughing hysterically with Freddie in the settee or dancing like a maniac.

The highlights of the night were undoubtedly when Money for nothing (especially for the boys who loved oldies like that), Macarena and Hey Ya! played.

On the last two songs, we were having a synchronized dance on the deck to the glee of Thomas and JJ who unfortunately filmed it. We even had to play the songs again more than once. The most hilarious, though, was that Freddie, Cook and Naomi all tried to fit into one of the holes to join in on the dance. It was downright hilarious and something I will remember for eternity.

Eventually, after driving past countless small villages and other party boats, the sun was firmly set and everyone seemed to slowly be burning out. I was leaning/laying on the front window. Not right in front of JJ, mind you, I still had some control. I was sipping on the last beer, trying to make my eyesight seem spotless by focusing on different parts in the scenery, and then shifting the pinpoint when I started getting dizzy. It had been a long night and I had no idea what the time was. I was guessing that it was not long before sunrise though.

The nice thing about living out in the ocean like this, was that at this time of the year it was light both day and night. Currently, the heaven at both the west and east side was sporting beautiful colors. In the west it was remains of red from the beautiful sunset we saw a couple of hours ago, and in the east it was a light fresh color, kind of like yellow and blue and green mixed all together in one, with some pink along the horizon. The heaven above us, though, was trying to be dark and full of stars, but the light from both sides sort of prevented that. It was still romantic though. The stars.

As I laid glancing up and wondering how far from home we were as it was a while ago JJ announced he turned back, I heard some scrambling from inside. I turned slightly to look inside, but only saw JJ and Cook sitting with the steering, Cook obviously telling JJ something important from the way I could see he was taking. Freddie is sprawled out on the settee behind them, halfway asleep. In front of me Katie and Effy were sitting on one side, feet under the railing while they leaned into the railing as they were whispering something conspirational. Or something bullshit. Most likely that. On the other side Thomas and Pandora were sitting, probably talking about their previous relationship as usual.

Suddenly Naomi comes almost falling from the side of the boat. Her eyes were half closed and unfocused, so I could easily tell she was drunk to her bones.

"Easy there, bambi." I said as I reached out a hand to steady her.

"Hi Emily." she smiled goofily, sitting down beside me, cuddling into my side.

"Hi you. I almost haven't seen you all night." I said, kissing her temple.

"Yeah. Cook's crazy." she shrugged.

"Agreed. You had fun?"

"I did." she smiled again, though her eyes was falling close. "Freddie told me stories from college, so now I'm a bit more prepared." I smiled into her hair at that.

"Yeah." I breathed, feeling content with having a drunk and sleepy Naomi in my arms after an awesome night with my friends. Her scent made me feel warm inside, well, more warm than from the alcohol anyway.

"I think JJ and Cook is having a summer romance the way Cook is confessing his love for JJ." Naomi mumbled. I chuckled. Take it to Cook to tell everyone how much he loves them when he gets tits off his face.

"Oh really?"

"Yeah." she nodded, before sitting up and looking at me with scrunched eyebrows. I looked back, amused. "Actually," she concluded, "I think they have a bromance."

I only laughed out loud at that, but mostly at the look she was sporting.

"And if that's a bromance, then you and me, we have a … gromance!" her eyebrows shot up while she slurred it out, clearly out of it now. God, she must've drunk so much more than me. No wonder when Cook is probably chugging it down her throat.

"What are you talking about?" I continued to laugh.

"You know, girls and romance… Gromance!" she looked at me like I was the on who was weird for not understanding the obviously genius new word she made.

"That don't make any sense!"

"You don't make any sense!" she answered me right back.

"Well, at least I can talk properly." I deadpanned.

"No, I mean you don't make sense as a person!" She clarified. I looked at her with scrunched eyebrows, my look slowly turning into a scowl.

"Is that an insult?" I asked incredulously.

"Wait no!" she said quickly, sitting herself more straight before taking my hands and looking into my eyes. "I mean you, you as a whole, you don't make any sense. I just go on living my boring secluded life like always, then suddenly you barge in and turn everything upside down! And you do it so effortlessly, it's like…" she trailed off, averting her eyes for a minute before continuing, "you make things brighter and suddenly I enjoy being around someone. I never did that, I never felt like this. And it doesn't make any sense what so ever, but I've come to realize-" she cut herself off before shuffling closer to me, "that maybe it don't have to make sense-" she slowly took one of her hands and layed it gently on my chest, straight over my heart. I slowly shifted my gaze to look at it.

"-maybe it just is."

It was suddenly hard to breathe when I looked back at Naomi. Her eyes were shining at me so honestly, and I think I even saw tears there. Hell, I knew there was tears forming somewhere behind my eyelids. She truly took my breath away with these confessions of hers. I'd never felt as special as I did with her.

"Come here." I whispered, covering her hand on my chest with my own as she closed the gap. Her kiss filled me with so much feelings. The first touch of her lips made my breath hitch. Her touch burned and branded me.

When we drew away, sitting forehead against forehead, I felt like the luckiest girl alive. And I wanted to tell her so bad in that moment. That I loved her. But she was intoxicated and so was I. I didn't want it to be like this, I wanted it to mean more. I wanted it to be when we both were sober and remembered it. I wanted it to be significant.

Instead I let her bury her face in the crook of my neck as she held on tight around my waist. I breathed out slowly with my eyes closed, feeling how filled up I was with love. When I opened them again, I watched how beautiful the specks of golden light in the waves were, and how wonderful it was to find such specks of gold in another person's heart.

You gotta love 'em, yeah? Okay - 3 chapters with fluff on the row, are you tired yet? No? Nooo, you can never get enough fluff. Or can you?
I won't say anymore, I'll just say that the next one is eventful, and you'll never guess why.

Thanks again for reading, I'll try to post these chapters a bit quicker, but as usual I don't dare to promise you. There is, after all, semester start next week.

I love everyone of you who reviews, follow and favorites. Have a great day! - M.
