So, these are just story ideas that were partly inspired by a wonderful story called Disney Storybits. Go read it, it's awesome! Anyway these bits are mostly ideas that didn't bloom into a full-blown story. There will be Faberry -duh! - as well as a little Brittana, Samcedes, Tike, and Wemma.
Glee ain't mine. Wish it was.
Chapter 4-The Little Mermaid-Faberry Style.
Do I really need to explain it? I think not. Except that Little Mermaid isn't mine.
It's going to be a long one. Brace yourselves.

Edit 7/14/13: This chapter is dedicated with love to Cory Monteith. We'll miss you, man.
On a clear sunny day, when the water was clear and bright and blue as a corn flower, the great ship called the Siren almost flew across the sea.
As the sailors went about their work, they sang out a lusty sea shanty.
"I'll tell you a tale of the bottomless blue
And it's hey! To the starboard! Heave ho!
Look out, lad!
A mermaid be waiting for you
In mysterious fathoms below!"
Near the prow of the ship, the young Princess Quinn breathed in the smell of the salty sea air.
"Ah, isn't this amazing, Santana! Look at us, we're practically soaring! A perfect day to be at sea, isn't it?" She exclaimed, grinning broadly.
The Hispanic woman in question lifted her head up from where she had been heaving the contents of her stomach overboard.
"Oh, yeah. Deleitoso." She muttered, then groaned and heaved again.
Quinn shook her head with a laugh, and then ran over to a sailor hauling a sail, helping him pull it up the rest of the way.
"A fine strong wind and a following sea!" He commented. "King Hiram must be in a friendly type mood."
The princess looked up from tying a knot in the rope. "King Hiram?" She asked.
Another sailor looked up from the net teeming with fish. "Why, he's ruler of the merpeople, lass." He leveled a fish at her. "Thought every good sailor knew about him."
Santana managed to compose herself, brushing off the dust from her outfit.
"Merpeople. Quinn, don't pay any attention to this nautical majadería."
She suddenly had a fish shoved into her face and menaced backward until she hit the railing. "T'aint nonsense, it's the truth! I'm telling ya down in the depths of the ocean they live-oops!"
The smelt suddenly slipped out of his hands and smacked Santana in the face before falling over the side.
"Ack! Hey!" She yelled, furiously scrubbing her face with her sleeve. "Watch where you're throwing those fish, pal!"
Quinn chuckled and leaned against the rail. "Come on, San, it doesn't hurt to think that they do actually exist."
Santana turned to look at her princess and best friend. "What, you actually believe they do?"
"Let's just say my mind's open to the possibility."
The woman raised an eyebrow. "Huh, open to the possibility. Where did you get such crazy notions?"
The princess grinned ruefully. "I blame your father for reading us those books when we were little."
"Hey, leave my papi alone, God rest his soul."
CRASH!
Both Rachel and Finn whirled around to see Schuester go crashing into a glass bowl filled with knickknacks.
"Schuester?!" Rachel gasped.
Schuester ended up lying on his back with a tobacco pipe in his mouth. He spat it out and jumped up.
"Rachel! What are you-what-how could you-what is all this?!" He shouted, kicking a strand of pearls off his leg.
Rachel nervously wrung her hands. Okay, how to explain this? Maybe just state the obvious.
"It's, uh, *ahem*, it's just my collection," she said, grinning sheepishly.
Schuester chuckled sardonically and held up a fish hook. "Oh, I see. Your collection." Then he threw it down onto the ground and started shouting "If your father knew about this place he'd throw a-!" He almost fell over as Finn practically threw himself in his face. "You're not gonna tell him are you?!"
Rachel echoed him. "Oh, please, Schuester, he'd never understand!"
All right, the air was probably too thin down here and was messing with her head. He smiled placatingly.
"Rachel, you're under a lot of pressure down here." He took her by the hand and started leading her out. "Come with me. I'll take you home and get you something warm to drink."
Suddenly a shadow went over the hole, darkening the cave for a minute or two.
All three were surprised at least until it disappeared.
"Wha-what was that?" Finn asked, looking up at the hole fearfully.
Schuester answered "I don't know but I think it best you, me and Rachel should-Rachel? Rachel!"
The young mermaid in question had swum out of the entrance and was now following the dark shape.
When she surfaced, she let out a gasp of amazement.
A magnificent ship was sailing across the moonlit ocean, bursts of colored light streaming behind it.
She started giggling in delight as Finn and Schuester surfaced next to her.
"Rachel, what are you-(gasp) Jumping jellyfish!" The crab exclaimed when he saw the sight before them.
Without any further comment, Rachel started swimming at all speed to the boat.
"Rachel, please! Come back!" Schuester's entreaty fell silent upon her ears as she got closer.
Finding a series of pegs on the side, she hauled herself up to an opening in the railing and peeked through.
She saw humans of all shapes and sizes laughing, dancing, and singing. Some were playing musical instruments she didn't recognize and some were drinking out of bottles.
Then she saw a flash of gold, and turned to see...
The most beautiful human being she had ever seen.
She was definitely a female, with long blonde hair tied behind her, and features that could only belonged to an angel.
Rachel was spellbound. She watched the girl as she came around to pet a dog who barked and jumped up to lick her on the cheek; the angel laughed and scratched him on his head.
"Hi ya, sweet cheeks!" Her reverie was broken as she heard an all-too-familiar voice. She turned to see Puck come swooping down out of the sky.
"What a show, huh?" He asked, grinning broadly.
"Shh! Puck, be quiet! They'll hear you!" She admonished as she turned back to watch the humans.
The seagull flew down next to her, rubbing his wings together. "Oh, I gotcha, babe. We're feeling intrepid. We're out to discover!"
Rachel clamped a hand over his beak, giving him a warning glare. Then she turned back to see her angel now dancing to the music. "I've never seen a human this close before." She sighed dreamily and leaned her cheek on her hand. "She's very beautiful, isn't she?"
Puck looked to see two human females talking to each other; one had blonde hair, the other had brown.
"We talking about the blonde or the brunette?" He inquired.
"There's a brunette?" Came the reply, and he laughed to himself.
Puck flew over the beach, searching for any sign of his little friend. Man, if something happened to his mer-girl, he'd never forgive himself. It had been a rough storm, and he silently prayed she had ridden it out okay.
He caught sight of her and swooped down, landing next to her. She was next to that blonde human from last night who lay sprawled on the beach. Uh-oh...
Rachel looked up at him as he came near. "Is she..." She swallowed, "dead?"
The gull waddled over and examined the human, opening an eye to check her pupils. "Hard to say." He said with a shrug.
Rachel felt her heart drop at that statement. 'Oh, sweet Neptune, no. She can't be dead..." She watched as Puck waddled down and, lifting Quinn's leg, pressed his ear to her foot.
His face fell. "Oh, I...I can't hear anything."
There was a noise, and Rachel turned to see Quinn's chest rise up and down as she exhaled.
"Look! She's breathing!" She exclaimed, feeling relief and joy. She leaned down and brushed a lock of hair from her cheek. "She's so beautiful," she breathed.
There was something stirring in her heart & soul; she felt a love that she had never felt before. And she began to sing, gently turning Quinn's face towards her.
"What would I give
To live where you are?"
She stroked her cheek.
"What would I pay
To stay here beside you?"
Right then, Schuester and Finn washed up looking a little worse for wear; the crab lifting his head from a rock to see...
His young charge leaning over a blonde human and singing to her-'wait a second, she's singing to a human?!'
"What would I do to see you
Smiling at me?"
His jaw promptly dropped, and a grinning Puck promptly reached over & shut it for him.
"Where would we walk?
Where would we run?
If we could stay all day in the sun?"
Quinn felt the hand stroking her cheek as the sun warmed her face, and she finally reached up and touched her rescuer's hand, opening her eyes to see the-oh, wow, the *angel* leaning over her. She was singing, and she sounded beautiful.
"Just you and me
And I could be
Part of your world..."
Her eyes were deep pools of brown, shining with love and longing. Quinn had never seen anything like that in her life before, and her own soul responded.
Whoever this girl was, she knew she would spend the rest of her years with her.
There was shouting, and Rachel looked up startled to see the brunette human running towards them. She made to pull away, but Quinn's hand stopped her.
"...don't go." Came a weak voice. And really, the mermaid didn't want to, but she also didn't want to get caught.
She pulled her hand away and dove into the water just in time. Santana ran up and helped Quinn up as the princess sat up woozily.
"Madre de Dios, Quinn. You really like these sádico strains on my blood pressure, don't you?" The Latina said, grinning in relief that she found her friend in one piece. Her grin faded into confusion as Quinn shook her head, and then lifted her head up staring off.
A sudden goofy smile appeared on the blonde's face. "A-a girl! Rescued me! She was-singing! Oh, Santana, she had the most *beautiful* voice!" She then fell back to be caught by Santana.
"Okay, Quinn, I think you swallowed a *little* bit too much sea water. Let's go get you fixed up. Vamonos!"
With one arm over her shoulders, she carefully led Quinn from the beach. The princess turned back to see if she could get a look at her mysterious rescuer.
Little did they know that Rachel was still there, peeking out from behind a rock.
Schuester, floating nearby on Finn's head, said with finality "Ok, we're just going to forget this whole thing ever happened. The sea king will never know."
He pointed to Finn, then himself. "You won't tell him. *I* won't tell him. And
I'll stay in one piece," he muttered under his breath, looking over at his young charge.
But Rachel wasn't listening as she peeked up over the rock, watching Quinn and Santana as they went away, finally disappearing out of view.
"I don't know when
I don't know how
But I know something's starting
Right now
Watch and you'll see
Someday I'll be
Part of your world!"
(And now here is where our two heroines meet face to face...well, when one of
them isn't barely conscious. Onward!)
"Rex!"
Quinn came racing around the rock, trying to follow the frantic canine. "Rex!"
The dog came up to her, barking happily. She tried to hush him.
"Rex, what in the world are you doing?" She said, finally calming him. "Did you find something?" Then she looked up.
"Oh."
Sitting there on a rock and wrapped up in-a sail cloth with rope?-was a beautiful young girl with brown hair and chestnut eyes, looking just as surprised to see Quinn.
"...I see." The princess murmured, walking toward the girl.
Rachel's heart leapt in her chest as Quinn came up to her, dressed in a white shirt and light blue pants. She tried to smooth her hair back and look more presentable.
"Uh, hello, miss. Are you all right?"
The princess knelt down in front of the rock. She reached over to scratch Rex behind the ears. "I'm sorry if this guy here scared you." She chuckled and looked up at the girl. "Really, he's harmless, so you..." She trailed off as
Rachel leaned over and smiled at her.
Hold on. She'd seen those eyes before.
"...you seem very familiar to me," Quinn murmured. "Have we met?"
The brunette smiled and nodded eagerly.
"We have?" The blonde felt her heart soar, and grabbed the girl's clasped hands.
"I knew it! You're the one! I've been looking for you everywhere! Please tell me, what's your name?"
Rachel opened her mouth-and nothing came out. 'Wait...oh, no. This must have been what Sue meant when she said I couldn't talk.' She touched a hand to her throat.
"What's wrong? Are you all right?" Quinn asked, noting the look of distress on the young lady's face.
Rachel tapped her hand against her throat, and the princess felt her stomach drop. "You can't speak?"
The girl shook her head sadly, and Quinn's hope faded.
"Oh. Then you-you couldn't be who I thought," she murmured, looking down at the ground.
Rachel groaned inwardly. There *had* to be a way for her to tell Quinn-wait a minute.
She started to pantomime wildly, making Quinn look up.
"What is it? Are you-are you hurt?"
Rachel made a huge sweeping motion with her arm and almost fell off the boulder, causing Quinn to jump up and catch her.
They looked at each other, Rachel holding on to the princess.
"...you must have really been through something, huh?" Quinn finally asked, getting a small nod in return.
(Personally this is one of my favorite moments in the movie)
The shell smashed onto the deck, releasing the glowing orb.
Quinn groaned and held her head, the blur in her head clearing up. Now she felt more in control of herself than she had before.
Dumbfounded, she watched along with everyone else as the orb swirled around Rachel's body before disappearing in a flash.
Rachel felt her voice enter her throat, and such joy filled her that she threw her head back and sang. Her voice! It was back! Puck did it! And she felt a bit of glee as she saw the still-disguised Sylvester staring at her in shock from where she fell backward.
But the best moment was Quinn gazing at her with a look that was part amazement, part comprehension.
A delighted smile slowly grew on her lips as she asked "...Rachel?"
The girl grinned and spoke one word she had been hoping to say ever since she rescued her.
"Quinn!"
"...I'll be damned," Santana breathed.
"I knew it!" Brittany shouted delighted.
"YES!" Puck whooped, executing a loop-de-loop.
But Quinn didn't hear all that as she ran towards the girl whom she now connected with her mystery rescuer.
"You...you can talk. And sing!"
"Quinn! Get away from her!" Sylvester shouted, then clapping a hand over her mouth as she watched the princess and girl clasp hands.
"It was you all the time," the blonde exclaimed, feeling such warmth and love flowing through her.
Rachel smiled a bit shyly. "Oh, Quinn, I-I wanted to tell you."
Whew, that one took longer to write than I thought it would. I guess it's because TLM is one of my favorite movies, and I wanted to make sure that I wrote certain scenes out.
This might be a separate story-one day.
As always, read and review please!
