"Tricks ripped and you tripped, tricked yourself by falling slowly. I'm the winner in this game, unable to stoop to your level of shame. Unwilling to reply to your words of ache."
Robin sat on a public bench in Salem, Oregon with dark sunglasses covering her eyes. It was a somewhat beautiful and sunny day but she wasn't really concerned with that, Robin was concentrating more on the people walking around, aimlessly going about their little human lives unaware of what was going on around them. So far Robin had been in Salem for only three days, she was looking for a few target and had come to Salem as she was currently avoiding any big city at the moment as she kind of had unwanted attention on her back. They would no doubt keep an eye out for her in the major cities hence why Robin decided to come to this Salem and not the Salem that was infamous for the witch trails. But so far Robin had been having a whale of a time especially with the skeezy middle aged men who really didn't know any better and were in the midst of having a rather hilarious mid life crisis. Which wasn't being made any less funny thanks to Robin. As she sat and ate a bag of gummy worms, Robin was so caught up in what she was going that she failed to notice that she was no longer sitting alone at the bench as a tall dark haired man had taken a seat next to her.
"Hey stranger."
Robin looked to her left and much to her surprise and amusement, Sam Winchester was sitting next to her and Robin couldn't help but smile. Once again he had some how found her and she was actually pleased to see him, Robin rather liked the dark haired Winchester as he was so much more easier to deal with than his temperamental and somewhat constantly moody older brother who seemed to have a permanent scowl on his face. "Sam Winchester it's been a while handsome, I thought I said that I'd find you so how'd you find me?""
"Newspaper reports, you just can't resist pulling one over on middle aged men can you Robin? At first it didn't seem like anything out of the ordinary until we found out that every man hand the words trick or treat branded on them followed by RG. That was the biggest tell sign that you were behind all the mischief going on here Robin." Sam explained and Robin couldn't help chuckle as she swallowed a handful of gummy worms.
"I'm a trickster, having a flair for the dramatics and being over the top is kind of in my nature. If I'm going to pull a trick I don't do anything half assed handsome, that much you should know about me for next time." Robin quipped before sliding her sunglasses up to the top of her head. "So I'm guessing you're here to shut me down?"
"Not exactly." Sam vaguely replied and Robin was very much interested, if Sam wasn't here to shut her down than that meant he wanted something from her and Robin doubted it was her flute. It was something else and Robin was intrigued as she wanted to know why Sam would come to her of all people.
"Where's the Brother Grimm?" Robin asked referring to Dean as from what she had heard and seen for herself, there was never one Winchester brother without the other. So far Robin hadn't heard a squeak from Dean nor could she see him but that didn't mean that the elder Winchester brother wasn't lurking around somewhere. Sam looked over his shoulder and pointed behind him and following where Sam was pointing Robin eventually spotted Dean Winchester, standing several yards away with a not too happy look on his face. Clearly he wasn't happy to see Robin but nonetheless he nodded to her as a brief sign of acknowledgment. "So what's up?"
"Can we talk somewhere more private?" Sam questioned and Robin frowned as whatever it was, it had to be serious or they were going to kill her. Robin doubted it was the latter considering they would have snuck up on her to do it so for now she would take Sam's word that him and his brother just wanted to talk with her.
"Sure handsome, let's take a walk." Robin stated as she rose from the bench and Sam followed suit and Robin began to walk down the street well aware hat the Winchester brothers were following her until she reached a bar. The sign in the door said it was closed but Robin quickly remedied that by touching the door knob and forcing the door opened by squeezing the door knob until it broke and the front door swung open. Robin motioned for the Winchester brother's to go inside before she followed them into the bar and straight away she headed for the bar and poured herself a stiff drink.
"A bit early don't ya think?" Dean asked finally speaking up as him and Sam sat down on the bar stools.
"It's barely noon." Sam added.
"I'm three thousand years old, what do I care whether it's noon or not? Plus what's that staying that you humans like to toss out to justify drinking at inappropriate times of the day? Oh yeah… It's five o'clock somewhere." Robin retorted as she drained her drink in once gulp before proceeding to pour herself another one. All whilst noting the surprise of the Winchester brothers as they were probably surprised to see someone who barely looked over the age of nineteen drink the way that Robin did. Just because she looked like she was only nineteen, it didn't mean that Robin drank like one. Far from it actually. As she took a slow sip of her new drink, Robin slowly eyed Sam and Dean as she had this weird feeling in the pit of her stomach and it was making her feel very nervous. So much so that she had to conjure up several dozen chocolate bars just to attempt to settle those nerves. "So a pair of hunters come to Salem looking for a trickster for the second time in a month… Clearly this doesn't bode well for little ole' Robin Goodfellow."
"We need your help." Sam announced and Robin wasn't expecting to hear that, well she wasn't even sure what she was expecting to hear but it certainly wasn't that. Two hunters wanted her help? Hell must be freezing over somewhere…
"I'm listening." Robin wearily replied.
"Dean made a deal with a crossroads demon–"
"–In exchange from bringing you back from the dead they'd get his soul in one years time back when the deal was first made. Yeah I heard about that, well everybody has heard about it. Kind of sucks. Personally I would have gone for about 20 years but then again I wouldn't have made such a deal. Dean majorly got screwed over on that one." Robin interrupted as everyone had heard about that deal and a lot of people were actually looking forward to Dean Winchester ending up in hell. It was pretty unfortunate.
"Thanks." Dean sarcastically added and Robin just ignored him, she wasn't in the mood for snarky comments today.
"Anyway we're trying to figure out a way to break Dean's deal, the demon who he made the deal was being rather uncooperative about it and said only her boss could break the deal. And we're trying to find ways to break the deal otherwise Dean will… You know, in a few months. Apparent some demon called Lilith is in charge of the deals and we doubt she'll be willing to just release Dean from his deal. "
"Yeah… I hear she's a real bitch from what I've heard." Robin grimly added. "But what can I do? I'm no demon, just little ole' Robin Goodfellow and I may be pretty damn powerful but even there's a limit to what can I do unfortunately."
"Sammy here, figures that you and your twisted little brain might be able to figure out someway to break this deal and stop my from dying in three months time. I, on the other hand? Am highly skeptical if you couldn't already tell." Dean stated and Robin just narrowed her eyes as she looked at him before turning her attention over to Sam. It was admirable what he was doing and Robin found herself respecting the younger Winchester for doing whatever it took to try and save his brother, even if it meant coming to people like herself.
"You can't trick death Sam, by making that deal Dean has pretty much signed his death warrant and booked himself a one way ticket to hell." Robin stated and she watched as Sam's jaw hardened as it was no doubt hard to her but then she smiled. "But there are ways around death and I'm always one to rise to a challenge after all the greatest trick that the devil ever played was convincing the world he didn't exist. I figure if the big man downstairs can do that to practically every human on the planet since the beginning of creation. One trickster should be able to try and trick one demon and it sounds like fun, not to mention the wonders it'll to my reputation if I actually pull it off."
"Why do you want to help us?" Dean questioned.
"Did you just ignore everything that I just said?" Robin retorted.
"Seriously, just answer the question Puck!"
"Okay… So before I ended up here in Salem I kind of majorly pissed of another hunter so I need to lay low for a while hence why I am here. Then you two show up and I figure that helping you helps me. If I hang with you guys and help out with your problem, then I have less chance of this hunter hunting me down and killing me." Robin admitted, it wasn't her finest moment.
"You've pissed someone off, why am I not surprised?" Dean sarcastically questioned.
"I've been alive for over three thousand years, so of course I've pissed a couple of people off in my time. But at least I don't have a long line of people waiting to greet me in hell." Robin quipped with a forced smile on her face and Dean just glared back at her in response.
"How can we trust you?"
"Dean!" Sam hissed.
"She's a god damn trickster Sam!" Dean retorted and Robin chose to laugh which caused both brothers to look at her in confusion. "And what is so funny Puck?"
"You have every right not to trust me so if you can't trust me then you trust in each other. I've been a round for a very long time and I've been privy to a lot of stuff, seen humans do some incredibly bad things. Sometimes I wonder about you humans because at times you are the most selfish, disgusting and depraved people I have ever seen. The two of you probably know that for yourselves but imagine watching it for thousands of years, seeing humans never really learning from their mistakes. I spend my days playing tricks on the wicked to try and teach them some humility for my enjoyment and I will never be out of a job as humans are selfish and pretty damn stupid. But the two of you give me a small bit of faith back into humanity. The lengths in which you both go to for each other is admirable, Dean you made what is single most handedly the worst deal in the world to bring back your brother from the dead. And Sam? You are willing to do whatever it takes to spare your brother from a fate worst than death. That love is something worth fighting for and something that I'll never experience but it makes my never ending days as The Trickster Queen a little more bearable to know that there is something decent in this big bad world. So if I can do something to help you both then I'm willing to lend a hand."
"And I thought I was cocky son of a bitch…" Dean murmured with what Robin could have sworn was a small hint of a smile.
"I'm a trickster sweet cheeks, we're always cocky."
