Chapter 14:

"Gryffindor Pride!" I stared at the wall and nothing happened for the 20th time. I groaned as I hit my head on the wall. I've been at this for an hour and can't find the stupid entrance to my room.

I looked around and no one was there and I sighed some more.

Scratching my head I glared at the wall in front of me.

"I hate you wall."

"The wall hates you too." I whipped around.

I glared at the fat lady and she smiled at me.

"Any chance you'll help me find my room?"

She gave me a sly smile.

"Nope."

I groaned and then heard a snort. I turned around and there stood Hermione.

I blushed and looked off to the side to look at Harry and Ron who were making their way towards the portrait of the fat lady and I just stood next to it like an idiot.

Hermione was giving me a surprised look as she covered up the giggle she had let out just a few seconds ago.

"Gaile? What are you doing so close to Gryffindor tower?" she asked?

My face flushed and I looked down and off to the side I was picturing what happened earlier in the Great Hall.

"Erm…I was…" think Gaile think! "I was talking to the fat lady!" smooth…

I really wanted to hit my head on the wall again.

They all looked at me like I was nuts and I was even more embarrassed.

"Uh…I should go…" I turned around and then realized my error as I face palmed the wall. "Ack!"

"Ah Gaile are you okay?"

Please wall…get me out of here…

All of a sudden my eyes widened as I fell through the wall and into a hallway.

"What the hell…" I heard Ron say.

I heard a loud crash and wails of pain as the two boys tried to walk through the wall.

I smiled.

"Thanks wall."

I got to my feet and looked around. It was a small hallway and it lead to one door all the way at the end.

But before I could walk to it Hermione walked through the wall with a loud protest of not fair from the boys.

Her eyes widened.

"Wow I had no idea there was a secret passage in the Gryffindor tower…"

I looked at her in embarrassment.

"Well…I was supposed to keep it a secret…Professor McGonagall got me my own room…because of…you know…"

Hermione's eyes widened more.

"Oh Gaile! You're so lucky to have your own room! I have to share mine with Lavender and Parvati it's horrid."

I blushed.

"Would you…would you like to see it…the room I mean…apparently it connects to the Gryffindor common room even though technically I'm not a Gryffindor…you can use my room whenever you want just have to know the password…"

"Whenever I want?"

My eyes widened and I looked up at her. She was smiling at me almost in a flirtatious way which made me blush harder. Thank god it's dark.

I gulped.

"Erm…yeah…I mean…if you want…"

I felt her walking closer to me and I took a step back. She passed me in the hall way and I unconsciously let out the breath I was holding she went up to the door with a Lion on it and then looked back.

"What's the password?"

I smirked. "Gryffindor Pride." The door opened.

We walked inside and I was in awe. The room was decent sized and well equipped for all I would need it for.

"Wow…Gaile…this room is beautiful…"

I watched her look around with a smile on her face.

"Yeah…beautiful…"

She caught my eye and smiled and I smiled back.

"I would love to room with you." She sighed and I grinned.

"Well you know the way in so you can come in here whenever you would like...if you wanted to…I mean…it's a good place to study alone."

I was a serious fail at life I know…but the offer was there…

She grinned and nodded and I sighed in relief.

"Will I see you tomorrow?"

I nodded and then she came up and gave me a hug.

My heart felt light as I smiled like a love sick teenager.

Oh wait I was one.

Great.

She let go and wished me a good night and I couldn't help but fall asleep with a grin on my face.

I'm glad we made up.

The next day was a mad house. The Yull Ball was announced and everyone, well okay not everyone…since the boys weren't that amused by it…was in an uproar to see who would go with who and I just sat back and watched dumbfounded. I'm not much of a party goer, hell I didn't even really know how to dance so I wasn't planning on going but then everyone wanted to know who I was going to pick…and by everyone I mean Fleur and Hermione…why do I get myself into these predicaments.

"Um…" I blushed as Hermione looked at me expectantly.

"I'm not sure I really want to go to the Yull Ball…I don't know how to dance…"

"It's fine I'll teach you." She said as she smiled.

"My eyes widened."

"Really?"

"Sure. We can practice together tonight if you want?"

I nodded.

"Great I'll meet you in your room."

She walked off and I just cocked my head at her.

"Weird…"

"You know…she iz very much wanting you to ask 'er out to ze ball."

I jumped and spun around and there was Fleur leaning against the door frame of where I was standing.

"She does?" I blush.

"Yes."

I looked back at where Hermione disappeared not noticing the hurt look Fleur is giving me and then looked back at Fleur but the look was already gone.

"I'm not really sure I'm the right person though…"

She eyed me.

"Why do you say zat?"

"I'm just not as happy as she is about this ball…what if I make a fool of myself?"

"You won't."

"But what if I do?"

"Zen I will 'elp you." She grabbed my hand and began dragging me out into the court yard.

"We will make you look stunning so I want you to go wiz me to 'ogsmeade so we can go shopping-"

I cut her off. "But Fleur I don't have any money."

"Zat is okay I will cover it."

I pulled her hand so we stopped.

"Fleur I can't have you do that for me…"

"It is too late…I want you to be happy mon ami…and if that means letting 'ermione take you to ze ball zen so be it."

I looked her in the eyes this time and so a little bit amount of hurt. I furrowed my eyebrows but just before I could ask her about it the next bell rang for class.

I squeezed her hand.

"Alright Fleur. I'll go with you. I leaned up and kissed her on the cheek. Thank you."

I smiled at her and she beamed.

"I'll see you at dinner?"

I nodded and then we went our separate ways. Not noticing that we had an audience to the end of our conversation.

Which if you didn't guess wasn't a good thing.
