It was no secret that the heir of the Hyūga clan was a shy girl, although it was a well known fact throughout the village, not many thought much of it. It wasn't that they saw it as an issue that was above them, it just never crossed their mind that it was something for them to be involved in. However Hinata saw it as something different, it caused her problems daily, it created an inescapable bubble for her during her younger years. Although it had been years since she was a young girl at the academy she still had the shyness that she was known for.
Hinata had learnt to control her feelings and the overwhelming feeling to hid away from her problems within her years of training while Naruto was away for him own training with master Jiraiya. When she was put in charge of a three person team of Genin due to most of the jounin were busy with important S class missions for the village, all of the training seemed to fly out of the window as she stared at the three children looking back at her with their eager eyes.
Every time she tried to open her mouth, it was as if her tongue had been eaten by one of the stray cats that walked through the village scavenging for spare food. This didn't help as the more they waited for her to say something, the more she felt light headed under their gazes and the pressure to make a good first impression. The silence was finally broken when one of the genin decided to break the ice within the silence.
"My name is Hana" The girl had a light hearted voice that would trick you into think that she had no cares in the world but there was something else hidden within the tone of her voice that showed Hinata that she a determination to do good in the world. She carried on with introducing her two team mates who both seemed quite uninterested in what was going on.
"And this is Sota and Ryou."
What surprised Hinata about these three was the chemistry between them, it was clear they were friends and quite close ones at but what got to Hinata was the smile that Hana pulled as she hit the two boys round the head with great force. The smile never faded as she spoke.
"I'm sorry, Hinata Sensei, they -should- be paying attention." Her words hit Hinata right in the heart which caused her inner voice to act as if it was on caffeine.
Was Hana calling her sensei already? She had done nothing and yet this young ninja already looked up to her enough to respect her as her temporary sensei. Before Hinata could get to involved in her own thoughts she was pulled out of her day dream by the yelling of Sota.
"This is so boring, are we going to do something?! I thought we were going to train!" The boys determination and enthusiasm to train and to be doing something productive reminded her of Naruto which caused her to let out a soft giggled, which didn't go unnoticed by the team.
Hinata wasn't going to let all of the training and effort in becoming less shy go to waste so she built up the rest of the courage she possessed and spoke to the genin in her compassionate voice even if she did stutter a few times in the process.
"Of course-e, I am Hinata Hyūga. I hope that we will have a lot of fun while I feel it for your normal sensei" Her fears seemed to dissipate the more she spoke to these young ninja and she realize that there was nothing to be shy about, they were just the same as her when she was fresh out of the academy.
Although she would always be shy in her own way, Hinata knew that it wasn't necessarily a bad thing as long as she kept on being herself and not letting it get them better of her like it used to. It had made her a better person and more importantly it made her a better ninja than she could of ever dreamed of being. None of her progress would have happened without the help and support of her friends and comrades. To them she was forever grateful.
