AFTERMATH
The sun began to rise over the clouds on the horizon. Dawn approached, and in turn would welcome daylight. Nick ordered everyone back to their stations while support crews, a long with some clones, continued working on repairs and clean up. The tensions between the trio of superpowered entities had still not completely subsided. Most of the heroes gathered on the bridge, others were mourning the loss of Agent Coulson. Plo Koon entered the bridge, flanked by Kit Fisto and Tiplar. "Masters." Marek greeted, "Tiplar. Where's Tiplee?" He asked. "She's meditating in our quarters. The battle left her a bit shaken." Marek nodded. Plo moved in front of the large triangular table where everyone was seated. "Professor Dumbledore has departed?" He asked Mad-eye Moody. "Yep. Said he had to make sure Potter was safe." He answered sounding brutish. "I'm sorry for your loss." He said to the present Avengers. "I'm sure Agent Coulson was a great man."
"He was." Agent Romonoff commented. Plo was about to continue but was interrupted when Tony Stark and Captain America ran in. "We think we know where Revan and Voldemort are going to enact their plan: Stark's Tower in New York."
"What makes you so sure?" Asked Plo.
"Loki wanted an audience." Stark explained. "A place where he could show everyone who's boss. He could have made plans already. The Tesseract could be in place, with whoever has it waiting for the order."
"Then what are we waiting for you lot?" Mad-eye interjected. "Let's go!"
"It's not that simple." Plo started. We've lost a good number of clones, Thor and Dr. Banner are still missing, and we need to contact the rest of the Order of the Phoenix. The odds are not in our favor."
Marek stood. "The odds don't matter. We may have our differences, but we have one thing in common; we all are heroes. We save those who can't save themselves." He addressed. "As long as we work together we can, no, we will stop those who want to bring darkness to the universe. And true, we've all got our separate enemies, but now there is no separation. Now we must act as a united front. Because it is now our job to protect. It is our job to defend others before threats can get to them."
"Well said." Commented Obi-wan, who was now in the doorway.
"Yes. Well said indeed." Mad-eye continued, "And for that you all can consider The Order of the Phoenix an ally."
"The Republic will stand by you as well."
"The same for us." Tony said referring to the Avengers.
"Good. Let's get a plan going." Said Kit.
Marek approached Obi-wan. "The teams back together I see." The latter spoke.
"Yeah. At least now we stand a chance against Revan and Voldemort." Replied Marek.
"Look, Marek, I apologize for what I said last night. I crossed the line, and I-"
"We both crossed the line." Marek interrupted. "None of that matters. We're basically brothers Obi-Wan. And brothers fight. But you were there for me when I needed to be brought back to the light all those years ago. I'm forever grateful for that."
"Good. I'm glad. Now let's go help them." He said nodding to the group planning the defense.
So it seems things are back on track with the Defenders. I also have some announcements. First is regarding Revan. I'm working on another story that goes into how he was resurrected. Secondly, I'm happy to say that once this story ends, I'll start working on a sequel. It will continue after A Dangerous Game, and delve into the role the Force plays in The Defenders. I don't have a title yet but if any of you have a suggestion just PM me. Thanks for reading! And don't forget to follow and fav.
