I don't own Harry Potter or it's characters, but I own Vespera.

I DONT KNOW WHAT I AM GOING TO DO. I'm just going to keep going until I post the last chapter. How's that sound? xD

To the Reviewers:

Mariam nisar: Technically, I haven't finished the whole thing, I'm still working on the middle. I have this bad habit of writing the end of stories first. I had the first 2 chapters written, then had a thought for the very last one and the epilogue. I do plan on writing more Harry Potter fanfictions, but I still have 6 and a half more years with this bunch! :)

Note to everyone who reads this: Sorry for it coming up so late! I finished it yesterday, made final edits, and I uploaded it onto the Doc Manager. I thought I had submitted it to the story, but apparently not. After 24 hours of no reviews I was like "No one likes this chapter D: " then I went to go read where I left off in 18, before starting to type 19, and realized I never submitted the chapter to the story. My bad... Here it is though!

It was December first. Three months ago, I had entered Hogwarts for the first time. This time, I was entering it for the second time.

I had spent a month in St. Mungo's. I had missed schooling, but had the basic gist of it down over the past week, and would finish catching up over Christmas break. Professor Snape was the one to come and get me from the Hospital, and he informed me of this as we were walking back towards Hogwarts. He, being the ever so kind head of house he was, would be at the Malfoy Manor over the Winter break, and would help catch me up in the subjects, along with the help of Draco and Cissy.

I had requested that no one be told of my arrival back to Hogwarts, as I didn't plan on seeing anyone for a while. I was able to talk and walk, and physically move. I would never be allowed to play quidditch again though. I also had only been able to walk for about 2 and a half weeks, so walking far distances was tiring. Unfortunately, walking was deemed the best way to fix me getting tired while walking, which made Snape decide we should walk most of the way back to Hogwarts. Due to this horridly long walk, when we arrived back to Hogwarts, I was planning on laying down in my room, and possibly sleeping, or reading.

As we entered the front doors, it was lunch time, for a Monday. I could hear all the talking students coming from the Great Hall. Snape looked at me, "You may go to your chambers and eat there, the house elves will bring you something." I nodded, then quickly walked past the great Hall entry, while Snape entered them, to sit with the teachers.

As Snape was going in, I heard footsteps going out. "Is that?"

"It couldn't possibly be." A second voice answered.

"Surely she would have told us." The first voice said.

"It mustn't be her then." The second voice answered.

I sighed, I guess my entry wouldn't be silent anyways. I turned around and put a smile on my face, "Hi Fred, Hi George. Fancy seeing you here."

One of the twins came running towards me, then stopped and frowned, "Hi Star. We missed you."

I smiled, and George came forward, "When he says he misses you, he really means why you didn't tell him on Saturday that you'd be back at school today."

I shrugged, "It was going to be a surprise, and no one was going to see me until tonight. I'm still not all better, just well enough to come back to school."

They nodded and George answered, "Well, we'll leave you to surprising people." They turned and waved, walking up the stairs, and I went down the stairs into the common room, and then into my dormitory onto my bed. It had seemed while I was gone, people found it okay to put their things on my bed. I noticed Pansy's clothes, Jaelah's potion bottles, Tracy's books, and Daphne's pillows. I had been gone a month and hadn't announced my arrival back, so they chose to take over my bed? I levitated all of their things, and threw them into the fire, except for the books, I would never burn books. I hid the books under my bed, then laid in my bed, closing the curtains.

I pulled out one of my books, the charms one, and began reading it where I had left off. All of my teachers (except Snape of course) had allowed me to postpone my midterm exam until after Christmas break. Snape decided I needed to be prepared for his, as he had planned it where even Neville could pass it.

I heard laughing coming down the stairs after I had just finished reading the Charms chapter. I continued reading, but couldn't help but chuckle when I heard a scream, "IS THAT MY SHIRT BURNING?!"

That scream was followed by a cry of pain, "MY POTION BOTTLES! It'll be forever before I can get them out again!"

"My...pillows..." said a downcast voice.

The last one I heard so much crying, "My books. My wonderful books. Who did this?"

I could feel their stares coming through the curtain, then a hand reached for the curtain and pulled it back. I saw Jaelah's face and smiled.

I was welcomed, by a high pitch "Sqqqeeeeee! You're back!" Then she attack/hugged me, pinning me down on my bed. Then she sat up, still sitting on me, "You have so much to pay for. You could have destroyed my potion bottles."

I shrugged, "You could have kept them off my bed. Now get off me." She jumped off of me and I waved to the others, "I'm back you guys."

They smiled, and Pansy said, "It's been dreadful trying to wake up in time, you're the one who usually wakes us up."

"Did I just hear nice words coming out from your mouth Pansy? The world must be ending." I laughed, along with the others, while Pansy fumed, and stormed out. "What have you guys found out?"

Tracy started, "It wasn't an accident, someone really didn't want you on the team, and they cursed the ball somehow."

Daphne continued, "We aren't sure who did it exactly, the spell was activated when the bludger was hit with the bat."

Jaelah finished, "Although, Flint was a high suspect of it, because of him moving you, he was upset. Lucky though, he was only suspended for a week, and made it back in time for the quidditch game. We lost that though, as I'm sure you already know."

I smiled, "We'll just have to find out who did it. Next problem: Our exams start next week. Who wants to help me start catching up?"

All three girls backed away then ran out the dorm, to me laughing. Then, Jaelah stuck her head back in, "You should come on out. Draco will love to see his honorary sister."

I rolled my eyes, "Technically, I am his adopted sister." Jaelah raised her eyebrows at me, "He doesn't know yet probably. The paperwork went all the way through, and the Malfoys were just my guardians, but now I'm legally adopted by them. As my mother disowned me, my father is non-existent, and the rest of my family is dead." I grinned, "Its Draco's surprise present. As long as no official documents come to school, no one will know. My name is now Vespera Salazar-Malfoy."

Jaelah stared me down, I could tell she was trying to think of something. "Vespera... What. Is your middle name? On the Malfoy door it had an "A." on it."

I shrugged, "You'll just have to wait and find out won't you." I slid out of bed and walked, slowly, down the stairs into the common area, and looked around. There was no Draco Malfoy, but Tracy pointed upwards towards the boys dorms when she saw me looking. I walked up the stairs and knocked on the door with the giant "1" on it.

I heard Draco's voice say, "Come in!" I opened the door, and walked over to his bed, he was writing a letter while sitting on his bed. I looked over his shoulder and saw it was addressed to me. "Give me a minute Jaelah. Let me just finish this up and send it..." He still hadn't looked up.

He signed his name at the bottom, then I spoke, "Why not just hand deliver it Draco?"

He looked up, with a great amount of shock on his face. "VESPERA! You're back! How long have you been here?"

I shrugged, "I arrived during the middle of lunch. I came down here though, as to avoid people. I'm slowly making my way around Slytherin announcing my arrival."

He looked at me, "Why wasn't I the first one for you to come see?" He was pouting. "Who was the first one you saw?"

I patted his head, then sat on his bed, "I ran into Fred and George coming out of the Great Hall, and then quickly made my escape to the dungeons. The other first year girls found me after I burned a lot of their stuff." Draco raised his eyebrow, "It was on my bed. They should have put it away." He still kept giving me a weird look, "Okay, so I didn't burn Tracy's books. I'm not that cruel. Jaelah's potion bottles won't melt, and let's face it Pansy has enough clothes, and Daphne has enough pillows."

He shook his head, "What are we going to do with you Vespera Salazar?" He laughed at me, and I could only chuckle.

"Well right now you're going to help me study. We have an hour before dinner, and between you and Jaelah I better know a good amount about the potion exam that's next week." I smiled. Then we left the dorm, and sat in the middle of the Common Room floor, studying potions.

When dinner arrived, we walked together, until we were half way up the stairs and I was slowing down. Jaelah looked at me, "You okay Vespera?" I nodded, and waved them ahead. They shrugged, and continued walking, while I sat on the floor.

I felt a hand on my shoulder, "You okay V?" I looked up and saw Samuel.

I nodded, "Yeah. Working on the whole walking long distances thing. Upstairs isn't long, but it's a killer." I sighed, and went to stand back up, when suddenly I was picked up, and thrown on Samuel's back. "What are you doing?" I said, laughing.

"Taking you to dinner milady," He replied. "The rate you're going you might make it there by desert." He was laughing the entire time. When we got up the steps, and near the entrance, we were ambushed.

I was taken off of Samuel's back, and hugged, then kissed on the forehead. I giggled as I was sat back down. "You shouldn't let strangers carry you around Star."

George continued, "Never know what creatures this fellow has on his back."

Samuel glared at them, "You didn't put another one of your experiments on my back did you? Last time I had a hairy back for a month!" The two twins started chuckling, and Samuel ran off, assumingly to see if anything was on his back.

"There's nothing on his back is there?" I asked the twins.

The shook their heads and said, "Nope."

I then walked into the Great Hall and sat next to Jaelah, who was sitting next to Draco. I smiled at how close they were sitting. Something would happen between the two of them soon, I was certain.

A week had passed since my return. I was ready for my charms and my potions exams.

The charms exam was to just make sure you could cast "Wingardium Leviosa" which was simple enough, if your name wasn't Ronald Weasley.

We walked into the potions room, and were told to start working. I looked at the name of the potion, it was literally the very first potion we had brewed in the class.

I began working, although I suspected that Neville or some stupid Gryffindor would quickly blow up their cauldron. It was only a matter of time.

I glared at Jaelah and she nodded. A simple agreement that she would do nothing to anyone's potions until AFTER I had finished mine.

It only took half an hour to complete. Jaelah rolled her eyes towards the Gryffindors having trouble with it, and she hadn't even put anything in them. We handed our viles to Professor Snape, then left. We went and sat in our dorm room, packing away our things for the Winter Break.

"I will see you over the break won't I Vespera? It'll be simply horrid if we don't! I mean just imagine, nearly a month without my partner in crime? Whatever is a girl to do?" Jaelah fake fainted, and fell onto her bed.

"Jaelah, would you please just think about what you just said? You practically live at the Malfoy Manor during Christmas times, I've seen the pictures in the sitting room. Chances are, you're going to see so much of me you'll get tired of me. You do remember what I told you last week don't you?" She hit herself on the head and sat up.

"Yeah, yeah. Can't a girl just have fun acting overly dramatic?" She laughed.

Pansy came into the room, "You don't have to act Jaelah, and you're always overly dramatic." At that, myself and the other girls who had walked in began to laugh, meanwhile Jaelah only got mad at us for laughing.

"Well if that's how you guys really feel!" She grabbed her wand, then stormed out.

I rolled my eyes, and changed into something less school uniform, and more Christmas, with my school robe still over top of it of course.

The other girls and I walked out and looked in the common room for Jaelah, she had left already. Draco came up to us, "Anyone want to explain why Jaelah just ran out of here alone?"

I raised my eyebrows, looked at the other girls, then turned back to Draco, "She's overly dramatic and refuses to admit such a thing."

He nodded, "I understand completely."

With that, we went to our final meal at Hogwarts before the Christmas break.

To say the least, that was an interesting dinner. Jaelah seemed to have found her free time pouring potion into the Pumpkin Juice. The result was everyone looking like a Christmas tree.

This event made us all get on the Hogwarts train late, because everyone had to be de-spelled.

Once we reached the train, we tried to find Jaelah, but she had seemingly vanished. We were assured by a prefect that all the students were on the train, as they would know if one wasn't. We shrugged, and decided it must be nothing.

I went to the back of the train and sat with the quidditch people. And listened to them talk about their first game.

"He's bloody fantastic Vespera! You wouldn't stand a chance against him." Samuel grinned, teasing me.

"Whatever Samuel, I don't care about stupid Potter and his fantastic quidditch abilities." I glared at him, the turned to look out the window. I hated when they talked about quidditch, because it reminded me, I could no longer play.

"Vespera, he was only joking." Angela nudged me with her foot, "No need to get so emotional about it." She smiled at me softly, and Samuel started to glare at her.

I smacked Sam, "Stop that."

He shrugged, "I wasn't joking though. Really Harry was fantastic on the broom. The others are going to try sparing your feelings, I'm just telling you the truth. Be mad or whatever, but I don't really care."

I rolled my eyes, "Whatever." I turned to Katie, "What are you doing for the Holidays?"

She shrugged, "Same thing as usual. Just a boring break. How about you?"

I smiled, "I don't have a single idea. I'll be at the Malfoy Manor... What's that look for?" They almost all tensed up or snubbed their noses when I mentioned the Malfoy Manor.

Davies spoke up, "It's just odd that you're friends with Malfoy. I mean his dad was a death eater. His family has been dark as long as history has been written. You don't have a single piece of darkness in you. How you ended in Slytherin still befuddles me. You're just so fragile."

I glared at him, then flicked my wand, sending green sparks at him. He tried to duck, but the hit him anyway. He began patting his skin, trying to figure out what I did to him. "Calm down Davies, it's nothing other than green sparks, thought you would know that as an upper classman. You should also know, you guys don't know that much about me either. Obviously, as you just insulted my father and entire family."

The others looked thoroughly shocked, "The Malfoy elder is your father?" Sam said, his eyes opened the widest.

I laughed, knowing what they were thinking, "Yes he's my father now. I am Vespera Salazar-Malfoy. They adopted me legally. So what's theirs is now mine, and so I am now a Malfoy for all intents and purposes. Is your opinion of me still the same?"

Davies nodded, "You're still not a bit dark."

"So how can you say all Slytherins are dark? I'm now from a line of people from Dark Wizards, and yet you still say I'm light. You should have known I'd end up in Slytherin from the moment you heard my name. Salazar. Slytherin. It was meant to happen by my blood." I laughed at their thinking faces, and stood. "Good bye you guys. It was nice riding with you. I need to go find Draco before the train stops, or he'll leave me and I won't be able to find him or the family when we pull into Kings Cross. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas!" I then opened the door, and left.

I joined the other first year Slytherins in their compartment. Draco looked up, "Perfect timing Vespera. What is it you're planning on doing for your Christmas Break?"

I sat down in the last seat remaining, the one that Jaelah should have been sitting in. "I'm not sure yet..." I dragged off of my sentence, just letting it hang there.

"Surely you're going home though? Of course you would be, that's what all proper wizarding families do." Pansy snubbed at me.

"My mum disowned me, I ran away from home. She found out I had gotten hurt over the summer, then disowned me because I made it clear I was still going to Hogwarts." I smiled slightly, then looked downcast, I was too good at this acting thing.

Millie looked at me, then laughed, "I love your acting skills Vespera. I'm sorry I couldn't hold back anymore."

I joined in her chuckling, "I know." Pansy looked shocked, that I had lied to her. "I didn't lie Pansy. My mum really did disown me. I'm not homeless for Christmas though. How would I be? I'm going to spend the break in the Malfoy Manor."

Draco jumped, "REALLY?! Why didn't you tell me this before?! How long have you known?!"

I thought back to when the Cissy told me of the adoption, "Since mid-November. Cissy came and told me."

The others, and myself laughed at Draco's reaction to that. "Why didn't she tell me?" He was frowning, definitely pouting.

"I thought it was assumed. Aren't you the one when you found out about my mum disowning me, that you would just have me at your Manor all the time?" I chuckled as he nodded.

"I just forgot about that." He shrugged, and we pulled into Kings Cross Station.

The girls hugged each other, and we promised to write over the break. The guys just stood their awkwardly, waiting for us to finish. I took Draco's arm when I finished, "Come on." He linked his arm around mine, and we walked off the express.

Once we reached Narcissa and Lucius, they took our hands, and we apparated back to the Manor, where we would spend our next few weeks.

Christmas was a week away still, but Draco would have a surprise when he reached my bedroom, that was across from his.

Because my name on the plaque was changed.

Now it read:

Vespera A. Salazar-Malfoy

THE END

Christmas and whatnot to happen next time.

Christmas was going to happen in this chapter, but too much else happened with her coming back, and it would have ended up being a VERY long chapter.

Plus you guys deserve to have a little bit of Vespera now.

In other news: If you wish to re-read this chapter do this: Every time you see the word "Smiled" instead read it as "Smilied" because that is how I originally typed all of the smiles in here (Smiles was also "Smilies") It's a side effect of not being able to type.
