The Errands Chapter 5

It was midday when Sebastian was back on the streets after returning the beef and tea set to the carriage. Now there were only two items left on the list. "Let's see what's next." Sebastian thought to himself. Sebastian pulled the list out of his pocket, neatly unfolded it and checked the list. "It looks as though I'll be heading to a place called Silver Shoppe, hmm, that's an interesting name." Sebastian turned the paper the list was on, around, and found directions to his third destination. As soon as he thoroughly read the directions he began walking to his next stop.

In about twenty minutes Sebastian found himself standing in the middle of a dank, and dark alley some distance away from the main street. "The directions on the back of the list sent me right here and the Shoppe would be on the left… ah, there it is." Sebastian looked to the left and saw a large, one story building that was dark and dirty due to the high amount of rain in the London area lately. The entire front of the shop was dark except for one medium-sized rectangle window which let out an almost golden light. "I'm always sent to the darkest, evil looking places, not that I'm complaining, the dark is usually where everything interesting happens." Sebastian looked above the door and saw a hanging sign reading, " Silver" "very well," Sebastian muttered "Let's go in."

Baldroy ran quickly for the front door then stopped before opening the door and allowed himself to catch his breath and regain his composure. As soon as he was breathing steadily again, he took a deep breath and swiftly opened the door.

Baldroy opened the door to reveal Ms. Elizabeth Middleford, the young masters' fiancée. "Oh great, you had to show up now." Baldroy thought to himself, but he really said, "Ah, Ms. Elizabeth! Welcome Ms. Come in." "Thanks Baldroy! Is Ciel here?" "He's asked not to be disturbed, but I'd be happy to take any message for him." "No that's alright, I'll just wait here until he comes out!" "Great, just great." Baldroy again thought to himself, but again said the polar opposite. "Wonderful!" If you would just wait in the parlor. I must return to the kitchen and finish the masters' meal." "Ok!" Elizabeth said cheerfully, then skipped off into the next room.

Baldroy took another deep breath, and pulled a box of cigarettes out of his apron pocket. He opened the box and pulled out one cigarette, then pulled out his lighter, lit the cigarette and stood still at the front door for a few minutes when he heard a loud crash and Mey-Rins' screaming. It was then he remembered the chaos that was taking place before he'd heard the door. Panicked, Baldroy darted towards Mey-Rin, thinking "Damnit, Damnit! Not good, I have to get to Mey-Rin before she tears the place apart!"

When Baldroy, after five minutes of following Mey-Rins deathly screams, finally found her, she was inside one of the storage rooms with at least thirty shattered plates and glasses all around the room. Mey-Rin was crumpled in the middle of the room, sobbing.

"Mey-Rin? Are you okay?" Baldroy asked, still standing right outside of the room. "Oh Baldroy! I was just supposed to polish the silver! I lost my glasses, but when I looked for them I couldn't find anywhere, and then I ran into the cupboard and everything fell, and, and, oh the master will be so angry with me!" "Come on Mey-Rin, please stop crying, please?" Baldroy continued to plead with Mey-Rin for a few minutes before she finally stopped crying. "Good that's better, here, you left your glasses inside the quarters this morning." "You found them? Oh thank you Baldroy!" "No problem, now since you can see, do you think you can take care of cleaning this up?" "Yes, I can." "Good, alright I'm going to head outside and help Finny." Then Baldroy turned around and ran outside to help Finny.
