I'll have you guys know, I'm done typing chapters one through three of my book 2, I'm just slowly going to torture you all, mainly so you don't have a month of no Vespera again (I'm doing it for your own good!). Plus, I'm hoping to get a few more followers before starting the new storyline! There are important notes throughout this! Please at least skim all the way through (each line is a new note).
As we wait for the torturous time, I thought I'd give you guys some background of how Vespera Salazar came to be. If you have any more questions, ask them in the reviews, and I'll put additional information into the chapter saying book 2 is up, or into whatever chapter I happen to be working on posting at the time!
My penname is Stefan Lee Salvatore, a name given to me by my brother of sorts (one of my good girl friends) Damon Salvatore. However, before the time of our Salvatore brothers, we were Weasleys (that's another story)!
I'm actually very Slytherin, which may be a shock to some people. I'm actually quite cunning and sly though. I'm that person that everyone thinks is sweet, but in reality I just don't get caught. Sound familiar to anyone?
Salvatore is not a very good wizarding name, so I couldn't name a character after that. One day I accidentally typed Salazar though, after reading much Harry Potter fanfiction. I had found my characters last name!
Now, Vespera had been "V. A. S." since the beginnings of my story. I had her last name, I got her middle name from an Azalea bush that we have outside of my house, that's been there as long as I can remember. Vespera's first name was the hardest.
In the original drafts of Vespera, she was called "Victoria." Not exactly an original name though, and definitely not the name of a future witch. I'm not exactly sure why Vespera was chosen, but it comes from the Latin for "evening" which is nice. An evening azalea? Beautiful.
Except when you type it straight into google translate it wants you to translate it from Esperanto. In which case, Vespera means "evening star." That became the basis of Fred's nickname for her.
Enter: Ronald Weasley
In my world, Ron is a right prat, and I actually don't like him, obviously he became my antagonist. I think much of the reason we think Ron is so nice, is because he's portrayed as the good guy, one of the three main characters in Harry Potter. Many opinions are biased by this fact.
Enter: George and Fred Weasley
Firstly, always having Fred's name first, is horrible. Poor George is always said second, no wonder they try to mix up their names! The twins are too funny to not be good guys, sure they're trouble makers, but their only problem is they get caught. They would have been fine Slytherins indeed. I especially hate that Fred dies in the books, so he became the love interest, and for future reference: Fred will not die in this story line! Why does Fred call Vespera Star? When you type "Vespera" straight into google translate it wants you to translate it from Esperanto. In which case, Vespera means "evening star." That became the basis of Fred's nickname for her.
Enter: Jaelah Phantomhive
I told one of my friends about this story, as I was several chapters into it, and she wanted a character. So, she made up her name, and we created her evil wand together.
Jaelah is created, originally as a sister to Vespera, and a love interest for Draco. Except, they're 11, Vespera a muggle born, Jaelah a pureblood(ish?) witch, and Draco the snotty self that we all learned to love in the books and movies.
Obviously, Jaelah can't be Draco's, yet. Pansy's in the way!
Enter: Samuel Levi Nathair
I told my cousin about my fanfiction, and he automatically said he'd like a character. Now, we are not going into the debate of what house Samuel would be in, because it is still a real life topic of discussion (to the point where Pottermore let Sam pick what house to be in. THAT SPLIT DOWN THE MIDDLE).
I had a new idea, Jaelah would fall in love with Samuel. However, Samuel shared a lot of the same physical aspects of Vespera.
Jaelah is no longer Vespera's sister, but her best friend instead.
I do believe that's all the backstory you get for now. Can't give away too much now can we
Next order of business:
I have made the executive decision that if this story gets 100 reviews (and Jaelah, this does not mean you going and reviewing the story another 72 times…) and/or 50 favorites, I will do an audio recording of Vespera Salazar and the year there was a Muggle Slytherin (more than likely on YouTube OR MAYBE I'll post them on Vespera's Tumblr page (That just got created).
That's right all 22 Chapters of this story that are in Vespera's point of view, will be read by me, Stefan Lee Salvatore.
I say 22 Chapters, because there are 21 actual chapters, the epilogue, and the bloopers.
That adds up to 23 you say? Well, yes. However, Chapter 12 is in Jaelah's point of view (as you recall I'm sure). I am not Jaelah, because Jaelah is herself, therefore, I am not going to voice Jaelah's PoV chapter.
P.S. I assure you these readings of Vespera Salazar, will also have bloopers of me messing up and being silly.
Also, if you guys catch any grammatical mistakes in the rest of the fanfiction, let me know. I try to catch them, but as I had already edited chapter one, and just caught another mistake, I thought I'd just put that out there.
Signing off until the book 2 release,
Stefan Lee Salazar

P.S. I need a male Gryffindor character for the last installment of this series. Just planning ahead. So if you guys want to put in some opinions for a Gryffindor Character, here's a link:
There will be a post about Vespera looking for a friend, just do a thing with it and fill it in. You can reblog it with the info, or something on tumblr, or you can inbox it to me on here.
But you can be another house and still submit your characters! If you have an interesting enough background I may include you anyways!
