Love is Blind

Chapter 15

Elsword's P.O.V

It's been almost a week since I've seen Eve. The desk that stands beside me remains empty. Yet I've visited Apple. The doctors say she's still stable. I worry, not only for her but for Eve. Her and that annoying Add have been gone. The sad part is, no one seems to care. Except Ara and Aisha, who continue to sit next to me at lunch, along with Chung.

I followed Elesis' advice and it didn't go well, so I gave her some space. Yet, it's been so long. I sigh as I pick at my lunch. "Elsword, what's wrong? You've been slumped for the past few days!" Said Chung as he munched down his food. I push back my tray. "Sorry, it's just...I've been thinking about Eve a lot and-"

SLAM! Before I could say anything else. Ara slammed her hands down. "So it wasn't just us! I knew it!" She said. We all looked at her in confusion. "Knew what?" Asked Aisha. "Duh! It's so obvious! Eve is in trouble and she needs our help!" She said. Well, I would admit that she was right. Eve did need help, I just didn't know how to help, how to do anything.

She pointed a finger at me and shoved it at my nose. "Eve needs you! Yet, your just sitting here with us like it's nothing!?" She said. I look the other way. "It's not like I can do anything anyway. . ." BANG! "Ow!" I shout as something heavy and pointy landed on my head. It was Aisha who was now standing up. She was holding a broom. Where the hell did she get that from?

BANG! Another smack on my head. I looked to see Ara, holding a pin that was holding her hair up. Did it stop there? No it did not! CRASH! PANG! Two more horrifying blows. Yet when I open my eyes, their not from Aisha or Ara. There from Chung and freaking Raven. Now where the hell did he come from!? They both had in their hands, a prop claw and a prop cannon. Good God, did they all steal from Mrs. Ranger!? More of a question, where was Chung hiding that cannon?

"Ara's right you know." Said Aisha, shaking a finger. "She needs you, just like you need her." Said Raven. Chung punched my back. "Go get her man!" He said with glee. They all started doing the clapping slow thing. I prayed I was dreaming at this point, grabbing Ara's pin and quickly stabbing my finger. SLINT! A tiny droplet of blood came out. God dammit!

I slowly got up and walked out of the cafeteria. "BRING HER HOME ELS~!" Shouted Chung that Jackass friend of mine. I sigh and literally walk out of the school. I start walking down the crosswalk. Just what should I do? I do want to see her again. Yet, maybe she doesn't want to see me. I shake off the thought and walk faster, wanting to find out anything.

Is she alright? Why hasn't she been in school? So much was eating away at my brain. It was bad to the point that, I realized I somehow made it to the mansion. How long was I walking? I walk up to it and knock on the door. To my surprise it opens. "Elsword..." Said Ophelia, a look of worriment was plastered upon her face.

And here I thought, she was emotionless. "How's Eve?" I asked as I came in. She remained silent, going into the kitchen and sitting down. She stared off into space. What's wrong with her? I looked around, the place felt more empty than usual. "Eve!" I shout. Yet to my surprise, Oberon comes downstairs. He places a hand on my shoulder and shakes his head. He also joins Ophelia as they both sit across from one another.

"Guys, where's Eve?" I Ask. Ophelia shakes her head. "Miss Eve, is gone." I slightly walk back, feeling this sudden weight drop into my heart. "What do you mean?" I ask. "She was over at the Tracer residence a few days ago. Yet I got a call on the same night, saying she ran away, taking away food from there kitchen and never returning. She left a note for them. We, called the police, only they told us to wait and see for a while..."

I stare, comprehending what she just said. Eve, wouldn't do that, would she? Would she, just abandon and leave everything behind? What kind of cops just tell parents to wait and see if there kids gonna return!? I close my eyes and gruff my hands into fists. "Ophelia, where is the Tracer residence?" I ask. She looks at me, her eyes widened. She walked over and got me a piece of paper with a written address. "It is quite far, would you like me to drive you?" She asked.

I nodded and head to the only car that sat outside. Ophelia shockingly gave me the keys. I looked at her. "I trust you." She said as she hopped into the side. I huff and hop into the front steering wheel. Great, I'm trusted behind the wheel for once. I just hope I don't get us killed.

"S-Stop at this next site!" Shouted Ophelia with sharped eyes. We made it to the mansion.

Shockingly in one piece. Even though, I may have almost accidentally hit a few cars. I got out first, noticing that Ophelia stayed. "Your not coming?" I asked. She shook her head. "I will, remain here and watch the car." She said. I gave her the keys and quickly walked up to the door. A giant door no doubt.

This place was gigantic compared to Eve's mansion. I stand at the door, hoping someone answers it. He has to know something, he just has to. I place a hand on the door and start to knock.

* Normal P.O.V *

Eve coughed as her chains rattled on and on. Arc looked at her in concern. "If you grow tired of these I spot games, feel free to tell me." Said the maddened man. "I know, I get boring from time to time." She sighed and gave him a weak smile. "It's not that, just, I can't even stretch properly." She said weakly.

SLINK! As they were talking, the cage door started to open. Appeared walking inside was Ferdinand. "I have come to release you Miss Eve." He said as he took off each chain from both of her arms. Once they were off, her hands shook vividly. She claps them together, trying to keep them steel. He picks her up like a rag doll and tosses her over his shoulder. Eve gives a saddened look to Arc as she leaves. He smiles weakly. "It is alright, chains may strain me, yet they can never possess me."

Eve closes her eyes for a moment, making sure she could blink properly. She then found herself to be locked once more in chains. Restraining her neck yet not to her arms. Being free to move slightly. It was attached beside the fireplace of the Tracer mansion. She looked at the carpet floor, not sure how to feel. Mind dead was one thing.

"You look rather pale Eve." Said Add as he walked up to her and caressed her face. She glared at him angrily. "It was you. The reason, mom killed herself!" She shouted. He smirked and backed away. "Ah, I see you and brother have had quite the chat." He said as he paced around his living room. "I suppose he told you about how all the wealth even the Tracers is actually owned to the Alteras."

"I wanna see my sister." Eve said. He looked at her, head tilted to the side. "What? You just found out that your entire family was bankrupted and cheated out of, yet it does not faze you?" He asked. "I. Want. to. See. My. Sister!" She shouted. He stared for a moment, pondering at her.

Knock! KNOCK! They both turned there attention toward the door. "Ferdinand, please answer it." Said Add. The shadow like butler appeared before him and walked toward the door. Add then kept his attention on Eve. She held her head down, looking lost and emotionless.

"I am sorry but she is not here." With that Ferdinand starts to shut the door, yet the guest was persistent. "Can I at least speak to Add?" Eve jolted up, hearing that familiar voice. "Elsword!" She shouted. A slight moment of silence echoed around the mansion.

The guest pushed inside yet Ferdinand stood stronger. "I am sorry, you are not allowed." He said. The spiky-haired boy looked at him in anger. "Ferdinand, it's alright. Please, bring him in." With that, Ferdinand left the door open for said crimson haired boy to come in. He looked around and spotted Eve who was guarded by Add.

"Elsword!" Shouted Eve once more. Elsword glared at Add. "What the hell have you done!?" He shouted. Add smirked and walked away from Eve. Elsword then rushed up to the chained girl. "Eve, are you alright?" He asked as he touched her fragile body. "What did he do to you?" He asked. Eve, who felt tired and shackled, could only mumble as she used the last of her breath upon shouting.

"What did you do to her!?" Shouted Elsword as he walked up to Add. "Not what I did, rather what she did, just for her sister to live." He said, a wicked smile plastered across his face. "What are you talking about?" Asked Elsword. "First, let go of me, or would you prefer to have Ferdinand make you put me down?"

The butler prepared himself, glaring at the crimson haired boy. "I would be careful what you do next, Ferdinand loves carrying all types of the kitchen silverware. What is that saying? He likes to be prepared?" Elsword glanced at the butler then back at Add. He scoffed and slowly let go of Adds collar.

"Now, since your joining the party. I guess I could tell you," He said as he started to walk around his couch. "Eve made a deal. Her sisters safe life for her own. Only, there were slight casualties as you can see." He said, referring to the chains that held Eve.

"I know, why isn't Apple saved yet? Why do I let her body rot in the hospital? Have I double crossed dear Eve? The answer is, no. Apple is dead no matter how much money is spent. Who could possibly take her place in organs at such a time like this?" Eve jolted up. "You lying bastard!" She shouted with all her might. "Eve, language is not prohibited in this household." He said, shaking his finger.

Elsword slowly walked around, finding something sharp near the fireplace and quickly grabbed it. He had it set to attack Add, yet Ferdinand was quicker. The masked Butler held a thousand blades toward his throat, ready to slice away at his flesh.

"Now, now Ferdinand. He simply wants to brawl. If it is a battle he wants," Add grabbed a large metallic sword that was attached to the top of his fireplace. He sheathed it then aimed it at Elsword. "He shall of course get one. Go on Ferdinand, put the knifes down."

Ferdinand slowly removed all his bright and cut clean silverware away from Elsword. He glared at the white haired guy. "Well, don't just stand there, grab a sword from the fireplace side. You hold in your hand a simple chimney cleaner."

Elsword slowly traded it in for a side sword that stood near the heated fire. "Go on, raise it up." He said. Elsword gripped his hands over the handle and held it, aiming for Add. He smirked. "I can tell, you don't do this quite often." With that, Add was the first to strike, swinging his sword across in an attempt to knock Elswords out of his hands.

"I've never done this before!" He said. Of course using fists constantly would out way such need for actual sword play, unless you count video gaming. The sharp blades danced off of each other from each strike. Ferdinand and Eve could only watch at the fencing duo.

It continued on, until what felt like a final moment. Add rickoshayes(I don't think it's spelled right?) Elsword's sword away from his palms. With a slight flail of such a large and heavy sword, Add got the better of him and was now pointing the sword into his chest. "I admit, for someone who has never fenced in their entire life, you are quite good."

Said Add as he slowly pushed the blade slightly more against Elsword's chest. "Stop. STOP IT!" Shouted Eve. Add glanced over to her. "Don't hurt him, please..." She pleaded. "Oh no. I mean to kill him. It seems better than torture!" Said Add sly-fully. He punctured the sword slowly.

Elsword started to howl in pain as he felt the blade piercing his chest, push through until his ribcage could be heard crackling. Eve screamed and shook. "STOP IT STOP IT STOP IT!" She screamed over and over again. Add gave a slight chuckle at the sight of blood that spewed from his chest. SLINK!

Yet his chuckles turned into a small whelp as he himself felt a sharp and unusual pain. A man of his stature, puncher-ed right into his chest from behind. Add dropped his sword and turned to Ferdinand who was already dead and draped around the floor. His blood flowed across the floor, his body twitching like a fish out of water.

"I am, truly sorry dear brother..." A voice. A familiar voice that reached Add's ears. "Y-You.." said Add as he turned around and faced the tall pale skinned man. He was pushed down by him, his body now laying nicely beside the fireplace. Eve looked in widened eyes, tearful and all. "Arc. How did you escape?" She asked.

"My hands were slim enough to slip through the shackles. I admit that I'm now not the healthiest man but, I am quite smart. It's all thanks to you little brother, with this new move of the mansion, the chains weren't as strenuous as the old ones."

With that, he walked over to Eve and un-shackled her chains. She quickly rushed over to Elsword who continued bleeding. "Oh God. Please don't let him die..." She pleaded. "Relax now dear, the wound is deep but, I believe he will live. I have called for the police and emergency to come here." Said Arc. He then walked up to his brother who's blood covered the entire floor.

"My dear brother Add. Please forgive me for miss-treating you." He whispered. Add who continued coughing up blood, gave his brother a death glare. "Fuck off. Mom and dad, loved you more than anyone, or anything..."He said as his body continued shaking. Arc sighed and looked over to Eve.

"Miss Altera?" He asked, causing Eve to look up. "Would, you like to say any last words to my brother?" He said, motioning that he was clearly about to die. Eve gave a moment of paused circled around, giving Eve time to think. She sighed then nodded. Arc and her switched places. He looked over Elsword while Eve walked toward Add. He slowly formed a smile as he saw her.

"Eve..." He said. "I want to know, why did you...do this? I want to understand your pain. What made you go mad?" She asked. He slowly placed a hand onto her cheek. "At first, it was...the consequence of taking out your family. I, was quite bothered that no one cared. Not for me, not for you. This was my drive, my reason of killing my family." Blood started to flow from his mouth.

Eve blinked, shedding a tear for the poor being. "I know, I was selfish. I even locked away my own brother, just because I couldn't kill the one who looked just like me. Yet, no matter what happens on this day, I want you to know...that I have never forgotten you and...I wanted nothing more than to keep my...promise..." With that he gently sighed, giving his last breath.

Eyes remained open. Eve coughed and threw up from the now dead body. She pulled it together and sighed. "Goodbye Add. May you rest in a better place..." With a wave of her hands, she closed his eyes. She then joined Arc who held a tissue over Elswords chest.

When she walked over and kneel-ed to take his place, Arc fell to the ground. "Arc!" Shouted Eve. He gave a wave in the air. "I'm alright. I'm just, exhausted..." She gave a weak smile. "Well, don't give up you crazy guy. You still have a Tracer business to run, don't you?" She said. He looked at her.

"Your to kind, your entire life could have been lived quite better, all due to a scandal. Yet you still would just hand over billions and billions of dollars, just like that?" He said in confusion. She nodded. "None of that matters, if the ones you love can't be helped." She said this as she looked at the unconscious Elsword.

Arc looked towards the ceiling, the thought of purpose and revelation flowing through his mind. "You, have a sister. Don't you?" He asked. "Yes." She said. "And, she's dying, isn't she..." "Yes." A smile formed across his face. "Do, you remember the conversation in the dungeon? My wonderment idea of what a purpose is?"

She slowly nodded. "I think so..." He sighed in relief. "Good, when I die, please, take back your entire heritage. Live happily, do whatever you please..." He coughed as he said this. "Arc, why are you talking like that?" Asked Eve.

"I lied to you as well, my time in the chambers has made my body to weak. Weak enough to the point of starvation. My body is about to give up on me at any moment...So please, take the money." Eve looked as he two, took his last breath. Eve shivered, seeing Add and Arc in such messed up ways.

She watched as Arc took his last breath as well. Elsword started coughing, blood came out of his mouth. "God, please! Not you too!" She said as she held him down. From the outside of the mansion, the sirens could be heard as police cars and ambulances surrounded the place. Ophelia, who was entirely sleep, suddenly woke up as she heard them. The sounds of safety.
