Chapter 4: The Bright Love of a New Bird
Last time on Digimon Digital Monsters...
Once we got the the shore, we found a nice shady spot to sleep at, and just as I was about lay down. "Hey Luna!" "Huh?" "Thanks for everything." "No problem Matt..." I tell him as lay down with Labramon by my side, and fall into deep sleep, with the sound of the harmonica luning me to sleep. I'm glad everything turned out well in the end, I just hope tomorrow isn't going to be this crazy...
*Luna's Pov.*
"Luna, Luna! Get up it's time to go!" I heard Joe tell me as he tries to wake me up. "Nooooo... To tired..." I replied tiredly. "Luna come on we need to go." "No..." "Luna." I hear Joe tell me warning me but I simply shook my head in reply. I hear Joe sigh and walk to where my feet are at and I quickly put my hands on the tree in front of me. "Ok Luna, you leave me no choice but to drag out of here!" Joe says as he grabs my ankles and tries to drag me up, but I had already a good grip on the tree in front, and as able to stay put. Joe continued to try again and again til Mimi stopped him and told him she knew want to get me up and running. Huh, yay right. I hear Mimi's feet crunching under the grass as she walk over to me and leans down and whispers to my ear. "Luna~, you better get up fast before I tell Tai your crush on him~." She says all sing songy, and I quickly stood up, moving my hair to cover my blushing face. "I'm up! I'm up!" But since my hair was also covering my eyes, I didn't see the twig in front of me and well you can guess what happened next. "Wa, Wa , Woah! Uff!" "Luna you ok ?" "Ya-a let's just get going." I tell Tai quickly getting up.
As we continued to walk in the forest, we began to see these way out of wacky signs everywhere when a sound of an airplane of something fly by us, but when looking up it was I black thing! "Hey look!" Sora calls out when see that black thing. "Woah! Did you here that!?" Tai asks. "It seemed like some kind of aircraft." Matt responded also amazed at want he just saw. "It like a big flying gear." "Yea..." I agreed with Sora. "Admit it, my alien theory is becoming more possible." Izzy states. "Yea, they hit with an anti-gravity ray to make us all crooked, or maybe the sign are just crooked. Hmm?" My cousin says. "Ah Joe, I think weather is starting to get to you." "Woah !" "T.K!" "Woah that was scary." "Watch that could have been a snake or worse." Tai warnings T.K after putting him down. "Ah, I'm sorry. Hey Biyomon is there really snakes here?" T.K asks. "No, just giant flying bugs and other unpleasant digimon." Yea, that's reassuring. I thought as I shook my head."Ok now that is settled, let's get going." "Nothings settled and where would we go? We don't know where we are!" "This is silly, I say we just keep on moving to see if we can find any intelligent life here. Come on Luna let's go." Tai tell me, grabbing a hold of my hand. I look behind us to see Sora still talking to Biyomon. "Wait what about Sora and Biyomon?" "Na, they can catch up any minute now." "Bu-" "Thanks for waiting for us you guys!" Sora yells at us as she and Biyomon catch up to us. "See" I giggle at this. "Moving right along folks, keep it moving; our next stop of our tour is the evident road signs. No pictures please." Matt jokes as we walk on by. "Hey wait up my shoe lash is broken!" my cousin calls out beside us. "You need new shoes. Ah! New shoes!" Mimi replies dreamy. "Look!" Matt calls out. "Telephone poles, they must lead to somewhere." "Yay, to trouble..." Oh Joe, can't even be positive at all... "Hey look,it's that flying thing again!" Izzy exclaims. "Yay and its making a close encounter." And after that we all agreed, well except for Joe, to follow those telephone poles, in hope of finding someone to help us get back home. We were about half way from the other forest, with the hot scorching heat beat down at us. "Why it is so hot, I can feel the heat coming up from my socks." T.K complains.
"Well T.K , maybe you should put your shoes back on." Matt informs him. Hot... so hot... even when I'm wearing this hat, the heat seem to go through it causing me to feel a bit ill. In truth I was a sick when I was young and the same thing Kari has, so I can't handle scorching heat for a long time. Both Joe and Tai knew this , and keep an eye on me. As I walked the heat began to take its toll on me, everyone's voice began to drown in the buzzing sound, and I became a bit dizzy till I bump into someone and leaned on them a bit. "Hey Luna are you ok?" I look up to see it was Sora that I was leaning on. "Yea... I'm fine..." I said a bit faintly when I started to see dark spots, burying my vision and the last thing I heard was Tai, Joe and Matt calling out my name.
* Time Skip*
The next I woke up with something wet on my forehead. Slowly getting up, groaning, I reach for the wet item, to see its Tai blue head band. Huh? Where am I? I ask myself as I look at the mini village in front of me. "Luna!" Was all I heard when something furry collided into me with a big hug. "Labramon!" I yell out a bit startled and happy. "Oh Luna I was and well still is, worried about you when you fainted a while ago." Labramon tells me, still clinged to my body. "Huh,so where are we?" "We're in a Yokomon village." "Yokomon... that name sounds familiar..." I murmured to both of us. "Well I hope so, that is what Biyomon before she digivoled." Labramon informs me. Ok but where is everyone else?" I asked looking around, when we both hear screams and a tall fire, shooting up above the village houses. I get up on my feet as quickly as I can with out getting dizzy again and look over to Labramon with a determine look. "Let's go Labramon." "Right." And run to the house of trauma.
As we run, we see our friends standing by a huge hole, that lead down to a ship wreaked boat. As Labramon and I get closer, I was able to call out to them as they turned back to the village. "Hey guys wait up!" "Luna!" "Pant - Pant, Man that looked so much closer by the tree..." I say I try to catch my breath, with Labramon. "Yay..." "Luna! Are you ok!?" I look up to meet fourteen pairs of eyes. "Yay, T.K, I'm fine now, but what about you guys, we heard screams and fire busted up in the air!" I tell them. "That well, we're were going to get some water, from the fountain in over there, when fire shot up to the sky. The Yokomon told us that there is also water over here," Tai point to the huge hole, " but I guess the heat dried it up already. But let's not all painck. Come on let's check the well over there." We all head over to the well, as Tai, Matt, and I crowed over the well, and Tai drop down the bucket. However we only heard a loud thud at the end of it. "Dry as a bone." Matt says "Well, I won't give up." Tai persisted as he quickly raise the bucket back up only to find a burnt rope end. And good thing that he did, because right after that, fire bursted up out of the well. "Oh look, Tai doing a little dance for us, is that sappost to stop the fire or bring down the rain?" Or stomp out the little slakes of fire on the ground.
"Hey!" Matt says catching all of our attention, "do you remember that flying gear we saw earlier?" "It crashed into a hill side." Izzy tells him, thinking courously. "Great out of all the hill sides to crash into, it had crash into Meherashi Mountain (is that how you spell it?) ." Sora exclaims."Meherashi mountain...?" I asked confused. "It's really a volcano but stable at the moment. It is also the place where the Yokomon get their water." Joe explains to me. "That's right, the water comes from a lake on top of Mount Meherashi. So a gear crashing there could affect our water supply." One of the many Yokomon adds on. "But we never go up there, the mountain is protected by a fiery digimon called Meramon, he's hideously dangerous!" "Hmm, I want a closer look at that mountain." Tai says as he pulls out his telescope. "You say that Meramon is a fiery digimon? What does he look like? Never mind, there he is! He's coming, he's coming our way!" "He burns up everything he touches!" One of the Yokomon call out terrified. "But he never comes off the mountain like this before, this is most strange indeed." As we all stare at the mountain side, there I see a bright light coming fast down the side. In the distant I can hear him yelling "Ah, I'm burning! Too hot!" "Meramon is a fiery digimon, there is no reason for him to be in pain from he's own flames, that his nature." Palmon tells us, seeing some of our sad faces for Meramon."He sounds like his going crazy from the pain though," I point out. "but for him to be naturally on fire, there must be something else that is causing him pain." Izzy nods in agreement "Your right, but what." Izzy says as he beginnings to get lost in thought.
"Look! He's heading straight for the village!" Sora cries out "Hey we need to settle on what we need to do and quick, Meramon is already half way on the mountain!" one of the Yokomon cries out. "Oh no!" the rest of the Yokomon cry out and panic. "Everybody freeze! Be every still. Don't move a muscle." Sora tells us, as we followed her instructions, and watched as Meramon came closer and closer. "GRAA BURN! BURN! BURN!" we hear Meramon cry out. "Ah! Everyone unfreeze and run!" Tai calls out and we all take off toward the sunken ship. Once we got there, Mimi, Palmon, T.K, Patamon, Matt, and Gabumon went to the top of the ship, Joe, Gomamon, Labramon and I stayed in the inside to either bring them on the top with the others or try to place them so everyone of them can fit; while Izzy, Tentmon, Tai, Agumon, Sora, and Biyomon guide and make sure every Yokomon get here safely. "It's alright everyone, we're safe now." I tell them, as Joe grab a the last group to take on the top. As Labramon and I continue to try to calm done the squiggling, frighting Yokomon down I suddenly hear yelling outside, I walk over to the exit to ask Tai what is going when I hear Sora call out, "Watch out! Biyomon he's right behind ya!" I quickly go out to see Biyomon trying to fight Meramon the best that she could, but was beated easily. We all watch anxiously Sora and Biyomon remain at the the bottom and Meramon slowly came towards them. "We gotta help them out, he's to big to handle." Both Izzy and I nod in agreement, as the digimon followed us as we run to Sora and Biyomon's rescue.
"Fire ball!" Meramon yells out as he throws a fire ball at Biyomon, "No Biyo..." Sora says crestfallen as she looks away; Tai, Izzy and I get there Agumon, Gabumon, Patamon, Tentmon, and Labramon was already there waiting for us. "Come on everyone! We can be that monster!" Tai encourages. "All we need is teamwork." Izzy followed. "All right, give me your best shot." Meramon replies. "Pepper breath!" "Electric Shocker!" "Blue Blaster!" "Retri Bark!" "Bomb Bubble!" But it seemed that no matter what we did, the digimon's attacks only made Meramon bigger and bigger. "If we knew why he's crying, then we'll know how to stop him." Tai says, "Well if the heat isn't bothering him, then I guess it's not heart burn." Izzy replies. "Izzy! Really! Not the best time here." I exclaimed. As everyone kept their attention to Meramon, I noticed Biyomon slowly getting up and understanding what is going on, and the danger we're all in. I see her look a Sora with... love... then turned to face Meramon with a new determinate in her eyes, and fly towards him again. Then something catches my eye. "Sora! Your digivicle!" I tell her, and she looks down and to see it was true. "Then that means..." Sora says slowly turning her glace to Biyomon as she surronded by a familiar blinding light. "Biyomon digivole into Birdramon!" Birdramon is a bright orange, large dinosaur- like bird. We all watch nervously as Birdramon and Meramon, but turned out the Meramon had at black gear.
After we were sure that it was safe for us to be around Meramon, we brought the Yokomon back up to the village, of course with whining feet *cough* Mimi *cough*, and confronted Meramon on what happened. "Meramon, why did you attack our village?" one of the Yokomon asked. "I couldn't stop myself." Meramon told them. "That must have been awful for you, if you couldn't control yourself then who was?" another Yokomon asked. "The last thing I remember is being hit by that gear." "Well I just glad your back to normal, we need you to protect Mount Meherashi. Good bye Meramon, and may you always stay well." Each different Yokomon called out their goodbye as Meramon left. "Hey I just remembered you never got the meal we promised you." Biyomon says. Both Labramon and I tilt our head in confusing. Meal? As in food actual food!? Yay! Which ended up being just sunflower seed... Oh well, beggars can't be choosers. But another thing, I wonder if anyone else as noticed that even though the gear was stuck in Meramon, like a thorn, but it shouldn't have changed a person from being good to evil. Maybe there is something more to the black gear that we don't about yet, but one thing is for sure we'll probably find out soon, seeing how we some who end up in trouble. "I'm skip this one too." My cousin's voice brings me back to reality, "I just don't like eating on an empty stomach, beside I don't even know what that stuff is, but I'm pretty sure I allergy to it." Joe states. "Joe I don't think your allergy to every strange food item." I say. Well tomorrow catch be as bad as the last couple of days have been...
