Chapter 7

Okay, by now I should probably have gotten used to Ryoma being such a shitty person, and even more- a shittier friend. I mean, when you're friends with THE one and only Ryoma, what do you expect?

I know that hoping for him to cry out of happiness is a little bit too much, but surely- a warm hug wouldn't be too much, right? A grin, maybe? A laugh? A "Welcome to Japan" smile? Come' on! I need something that actually gives proof to this whole friendship, so that I would know that our friendship is not just something that I imagined in my head!

I don't know how other people normally treats their friends, but I'm pretty sure that normal people do not just say "Oh, you're here already" to their friend (or so I'd like to believe) who had just travelled all the way (Through the misery of hours and hours of neck pain) from a very far away land just to see them.

I came from freakin America just to see his sorry ass and his only response to that was "Oh, you're here already?" and a raised eyebrow?!

A raised eyebrow!?

I waited for his stupid club to finish (because I'm such a polite person, and polite people do not disturb others when they are in the middle of something) and for him to came out of his equally stupid changing room- Just to get a stupid commentary (that feels more like a dismissal than an actual welcome), coupled with a raised eyebrow?!

Does he even know just how rude a raised eyebrow can interpreted as?!

I glared at his back, eyes boring intensely into his shirt. We walked in silence for a while (with me still glaring and him ignoring me) before he sighed, and then finally turned to face me.

"Okay, what's up?"

Urgh. The nerve this guy.

I rolled my eyes, then mumbled out a quite "Nothing"

Arghhh! Again with his freakin eyebrow!

"Will you stop raising your eyebrow already?!" I snapped at him, nose scrunching up in expiration.

Urgh, I have always hated his eyebrow. I really do. I mean, how could a guy's eyebrow be that perfect looking while mine's like a fat whale stranded in the middle of a deserted island?!

I'm a girl damnit, I'm supposed to have that eyebrow!

He shrugged uncaringly, seemingly used to hearing my strange out-of-the-blue comments

Not fair. How is he so used to me, while I'm like a total beginner dealing with him?

It was a quiet 5 minutes moment before my mouth decided to do its job by being its annoying self

"Oh, so you're ignoring me now?! Am I not your friend? Is it because I suck at tennis and you're a God at it, and all your friends are like semi-God too and you decided to just ditch me because I'm not holly enough to be in your circle bro friends that are too good at tennis?"

Good. I annoyed him. HAH! Suck at that, Ryoma! Even I can be unpredictable at my weirdness!

"Chiyo."

"You must be bored with me! Because we haven't really seen each other for like months and the first word you said to me was 'Oh, you're here?'?"

"Chiyo."

"I mean, it's so not fair how you're like my only friend while you have tons of other, cooler friends with better talent at tennis and are-"

"Your mom told me."

"Fun-… What?"

I stopped my rambling the second his words slipped into my mind.

"Your mom told me about you coming here, and asked for a place to stay from my dad." He deadpanned.

"Oh."

"Yeah, 'oh'" He mocked.

…

…

Oopsies.

I grinned sheepishly at him.

"Sooo… Got any melons at your home?"

Hey! Not my fault I didn't know that he already knew! And melons do make everything better!

He kind of just looked at me.

… Errr, I think I annoyed him.

Then he huffed

Ohhh, childish Ryoma, that doesn't come out often. Yep, definitely annoyed.

Ryoma is probably a bit OCC in this chapter (since he acts a bit childish) but I think that Ryoma can be a bit childish sometimes (like that one episode where his cat went missing and he went all panicky in a very ryoma way in that) and since he's still a kid himself and Chiyo has been his friends since like forever- I think that it should be much easier for Ryoma to expresses himself (be childish and annoying like a kid he is).

What do you guys think? Is it out of character of Ryoma to act that way towards/ with Chiyo? Do you guys think that Ryoma is too OCC?
