Tanith paced around, anxious about something. She just woke up, so I just figured there was a nightmare or something like that. "You know, I'm really worried about Lea."
"Yeah, you said that before," I replied. "Calm down a little bit, okay?"
"Alright, Tanith, look at the bright side. Those men in black haven't appeared for a long time now," Tanith reassured herself. This was not a side of her that I saw often, so I did not know what exactly to do. I wondered about what would Master Eraqus do. Because he had to deal with all three of us, his actions were the best to copy right then.
"Hey, if we get out of here, I can make you a cake."
"You know how to cook? I do too, but that's probably because I had to feed Lea so much. That dork loved eating sea salt ice cream though, so he would return home already full and with a stomach ache. Though by that time I usually had a few much too beers to drink...Anyways, I would want it to be lemon!"
"Okay..." She was totally hiding something. Anyone could see it, so I stared at her. "I guess your obsession led to unhappiness just like Terra's. You see, when we were friends, Terra always wanted to have the power to protect his friends and everybody he loved. Ironic considering that lust was what was the trigger for his darkness and Xehanort's plan."
"I feel so sorry for all of the things I've done. Before Xehanort put me in this hell, I was going to get help, become better. I had to save up a lot of money then, but it's all gone to waste. Hopefully Lea spent it on something useful and not more sea salt ice cream." Tanith was on the verge of tears. All at once, she let them all fall out. "I didn't know all the harmful things I did to my little bro."
"It's okay. Just let it all out, don't hold anything in." I hugged her, and then the redhead cried on my shoulder. My skin felt the tears fall from its smooth surface. "We can talk to Lea when we get out of here."
"But, I don't know how or where he is. For all that I know, he can be dead or forgot all about my existence!" she yelled, emotionally distressed. She wiped the tears off her eyes and pointed at something in the distant. "Aqua, I think there's another one of them here."
"Let's go!" We both began to run, yet the figure did not try to catch up to us. So, with all our strength, we went as far away as we could from the man. Our pants could be easily heard.
"Oh my God, is that what I think it is?" Excited, Tanith just jumped into the water and allowed herself to get soaked. Everything including her head was under the calm water of the Realm for at least a second. "Come on, you should clean yourself and have fun in here too."
"If you say so, I guess I can." My right touched the water when I took off my shoes and socks. It was warmer than I expected to be, so I dumped on whole head in. Under the water, I could see the strands of my new long hair floating up above my head. Tanith was in front of me, waving and smiling like her usual self. Then both of us swam up to the surface again.
"I guess I really needed to unstress."
"Yep, you needed to listen to your advice. Well, a lot of people do, so it's not that uncommon." When I finished talking, Tanith dove back in and grabbed my leg. She pulled my whole body into the body of water. That was when I noticed something at the bottom of the sea, Terra's wayfinder.
"Is that really his?" I asked myself. It was exactly like the one I gave him, so I guessed that Xehanort got rid of it. With my swimming skills, I rushed and seized it. Some of the glass was broken, but, other than that, it was in good shape.
"Aqua, what are you doing?" The girl was on the surface again. Following her, I went up there as well.
"It's Terra's wayfinder, I found it at the bottom of this sea," I informed her. Along with my own wayfinder, I attached Terra's to my pants. "Xehanort must have got rid of it when he possessed him-"
"Wait, Xehanort possessed your friend!" shouted Tanith. "Tell me, how old was Xehanort before he took over the youth's body?"
"Eighty-three," I answered. Master Eraqus made us celebrate Xehanort's birthday when I was fourteen years old. He did not want that to happen, and he wished to do so with his own pupil. At the time, I had no idea who Ventus was.
"Damn, I can see why he did that, but taking over someone's body is plain worst. For me at least, there's no just reason to do an atrocity like that."
"Yeah, he also made his own pupil at the time, Vanitas, take over Ventus...The memories of me fighting both of my friends still haunts me inside." I remembered trying to wake up Ventus, only to find out it was indeed Vanitas. Mickey was there, but that did not make things any better. We both were dying inside because we were forced to fight with 'Venitas'.
"Now I see why you don't like talking above it. That must have been rough, but you still have good memories of the three of you. Remember those memories and their souls will always be with you. No matter if you or one of them die, you'll always be one," Tanith advised. Then, I took off Terra's wayfinder and gave it to her.
"Here you keep it. When I find and save Terra though, you've to give it back to me. Terra loved that thing to no end. I knew somebody that told me that Terra wouldn't bare to see that thing get destroyed," I said. "Plus, we're friends now."
"Alright, I got it memorized. Oh, that was Lea's catchphrase, and he repeated it over and over again. He wanted nobody to ever forget that he existed, to memorize his existence. In people's memories, my little bro could be immortal. I'm sure that he has made a lot of new friends now that hang out with him and Isa."
When we finished our heart to heart, we swam back to the sand and rocks. The water swooshed and climbed up our feet. Tanith still had her white tennies shoes on while my feet remained barefoot. "You know, I went to a beach like this before in the Realm of Light. It was called Density Islands and I meet two young boys named Sora and Riku. They were so cute, and I made Sora promise to make sure that Riku never went down the same path that Terra did."
"That sounds so precious!" responded Tanith. "I would want them to come here, and then I would hug them real hard."
"I think we want those children alive."
"Yeah, it seems like that Sora kid was the one that man told you about." She then moved over to a big rock, and then took out her knife. In it, she craved that Tanith and Aqua were hide followed by a smile face. Don't you ever lose hope. No matter how dark the darkness is, there will always be a light to shine through and save your souls. She finished and backed away from it.
"I see there are benefits of having the heartless trying to kill you at every turn," I laughed. Suddenly, when she made the way back, Tanith kissed me on the lips, leaving me shocked. "You said you were asexual."
"I was lying. In reality, I'm bi, and I always had a crush on you Aqua, ever since we first meet." My heart pounded in my chest. I had no idea about what to make of this. Then, she kissed me again, and I gave into her wants. Our tongues danced in each other's mouth. Was I seriously in love with her? We separated, and all I felt was confusion, not love. By the look in her eyes, I could tell Tanith did not think the same thing.
"Oh, lookie here, we got two birds sitting together." All of the sudden, the man I fought before Vanitas appeared. "Isn't that so cute?"
"Braig...I should've known you were with Xehanort. Ever since you had those yellow eyes, you acted weird!" yelled Tanith, her eye brows rose. "What happened to the old you?"
"You're talking about that short high school fling? I've become more powerful, Tanny Bunny, so don't expect getting me back. Plus, the name's Xigbar now." She growled, and Xigbar just stood there, waiting for something. With her knife, Tanith then stabbed Xigbar's shoulder, making it bled. When she took it out, Tanith plunged the dagger deeped and deeper into his skin, stopping where there was a born. "Damn bitch."
"You don't mess with a girl like me." To tease him, Tanith kissed me on the lips again, going down my neck. I did not want her to do this, but I could see what she was trying to do.
"Well, not today you little bird and bunny." Then Xemnas came out from under the current, dripping wet. He must of had a corridor of darkness down there or something like that. Before I could do anything, Xemnas grabbed my friend by her neck.
CRACK!
Tanith's life became lifeless as Xemnas dropped her body on the sands. Her neck was broken, and it was at an unnatural angle. I placed her body in my arms and held her head. "YOU MONSTER!" Because of my grief, I kissed her on the lips again, hoping that she would come to life. It was naive and childish, but I had seen it happen before.
"It had to be done, friend," said Xemnas. He forced my friend out of my arms. Then he lifted up her shirt and showed me a x shaped scar. "She has become useless to us, and Tanith knew too much information concerning everything."
"She was a good person to have sex with though. I know from experience that she could have pleasured you real well, keybearer."
"Now let's see how Lea reacts to this shocking news."
"No, I won't let you get to her brother and show him that. I won't allow it!" I screamed, violent tears dripping from my blue eyes. Concerning my eyes, they were indeed getting red. I held onto Xemnas' leg, but he shook my distressed body off it seconds later. "TANITH!" Hey, Aqua, just always remember to stay cheerful and keep going no matter what. Even if I, Ventus, or Terra die, you've to be strong for the people you have left.
"Tanith...I don't think I can do that. I think I should just fade into darkness here, become nothing like you." The image of Tanith's snapped neck haunted me along the pictures of all of the yellow eyes. "You know what, I think I should do something." I summoned Master Keeper to my side, and I took one last look at my late Master's keyblade.
In the water, I set my keyblade out, and I watched it go until I could not see it anymore. Tears were still falling down my face. If my sacrifice was in vain, I wouldn't want Tanith's death pointless either. So, near the same waters that took my friend, I waited for my heroes to come.
