Previously on The Heather Games: There are two time periods: present and past. In the present, Naya is next to Hemo telling her side of their story, while Heather, as she listens in her coma, tells hers. Heather is in the hospital for a suicide attempt but apparently a fan shot her, we don't know much about that yet. In the past, it is revealed that after the two girls got their script for Sexy, they made out, had sex, and suppressed feelings surfaced. But, besides the fact that they were still in the closet, Heather was with Taylor, so they could not date. Naya then accidently tells Dianna, Lea, and Taylor about what had happened and how she felt about it. Dianna and Lea were happy for their friends (they even shipped them together) but a jealous Taylor came back to town in an attempt to win his girlfriend back. He declared war on Naya, so they both started fighting for Heather's heart, without her knowing it. But Naya recently realized that she was going at it all wrong; if she wanted Hemo, she needed to show her that she was a better catch than Taylor. And that's what you missed!

{March 11th, 2011 (5 years ago)}

"Naya, you can't be serious." A disappointed Lea said. "You can't quit now. You have to fight for what you want!"

"Definitely." Dianna agreed as she brought Naya a water bottle. "If you back up now, you'll never get her."

"This isn't about backing up, though." The Latina defended her decision. "It's about being the bigger person here. Taylor would fight. Taylor would do this. Because it's easier to treat Heather as a prize than to man up and talk it out with her. We're all complicating things, you both know it."

The other two stayed quiet.

Naya sighted. "Look, guys, I love you. I love you both and I know that you just want for us to be happy. I know Heather, and I can't pressure her. I don't even know how she feels about me and-"

"But Nay, she's in love with you. It's so obvious!" Lea, frustrated, raised her voice. "She wants to be with you, she's always so comfortable around you. Just look at the interviews!"

"Lea, Naya's right." Dianna agreed with her friend as she sat on the couch. "This isn't high school, it's real life. Competing for her attention isn't the right thing to do."

It was now Lea's turn to sight. "Okay, but what does this mean for your friendship?"

"I'm not going to stop being her friend. I'm going to just give her some space, romantically speaking. Taylor was right, she's not ready for a relationship with me right now."

"But you don't know that. You haven't even talked about it." Lea argued.

"Yeah, now I have to agree with Lea. You guys have never talked about your feelings." Dianna pointed out.

"True, because it's never been the right time. I love her, I do, and I feel she does love me back, but right now we can't do anything about it." Naya concluded. "When she brings it up, we'll talk about it. Or even when she tries to do something with me. I'll let her open the door for that conversation. Taylor is already constantly breathing down her neck, I can't do the same."

"Fine." Lea got on board as she leaned against her side of the couch. "What do you want us to do?"

"Nothing." Naya said simply. She looked at the two girls in front of her, sitting on the coffee table. "Just act normal. Taylor is supposed to leave in a week, so it's cool."

"Okay." Dianna took Naya's hand. "That's what we'll do."

The Latina smiled softly at her blonde friend.

"Yeah." Lea took her other hand, earning a smile, too.

"Thanks guys." Naya said, truthfully.

"Anytime." Dianna looked at her. "How are you feeling? About all of this?"

Naya looked away. She really didn't want to answer.

"Nay?" Lea pressured her to talk, too.

She looked at them for the hundredth time. They both had patient smiles on their faces. She knew she could trust them with everything. There was no need to hide her emotions. "Honestly? I feel sad. I feel like I'm sharing a part of me with someone I can't even stand. And I'm scared. I'm scared because if I give her too much space, she might leave. She might forget about those special nights. And I have no idea how I'd be able to handle that. I don't know how I'd be able to play Santana if I'm going to have to kiss her and stuff."

The two girls just stared at her, not knowing what to say.

"But it's okay." Naya stood up. "I have to be patient. The minute I start worrying too much about this, the minute I'll spiral."

"Yeah, you just have to keep yourself distracted…" Lea added.

"Yeah."

"If you want you can stay over." Dianna offered. "I know it's hard to be heartbroken and alone."

"No, it's okay, I don't want to intrude…" Naya answered honestly.

"You don't intrude. You can sleep in my room." Lea stood up, too. "I can sleep with Dianna or on the couch, it's okay."

"Shouldn't I be the one who sleeps on the couch?" Naya casually tried to capture Dianna's nervous face. She laughed internally.

"No, you're our guest of honor. You can even borrow some of my clothes." Lea started walking away. "I'm going to get the room ready, be right back."

When Dianna and Naya end up alone in the room, Naya chuckled. "Well, this is hilarious."

"Shut up." Dianna tried to stop the smile on her face. "She'll probably sleep on the couch." She whispered.

"She might not." Naya whispered back.

"We'll see." Dianna rolled her eyes as she walked to the hallway, too.

"Where are YOU going?" Naya asked, amused.

"Just… You know… Going to clean my room a bit in case I have company." Dianna smiled.

"Okay, sure, do your thing." Naya smiled as the blonde walked away.

The brunette sat on the couch; the sadness she had felt before all of this "Heather Games" mess started to take over. She checked her phone, hoping her favorite person in the world had tried to contact her. But obviously, she hadn't. She was too busy hanging out with Taylor. It was times like these that made her feel like she was just a second option for the blue-eyed blonde. Yeah, sure, when the three of them were together, Heather tried to pay attention to all. But when they were alone…

There had been times in which Naya hadn't heard from Heather in weeks, just because the boyfriend was in town. What Heather felt for Taylor at some point had to be real, even if not entirely. The thought alone made her want to hit something. She wondered why she even bothered to try to win her heart, she never really had it. But she'd be dammed if she just let her go. She loved Heather. And maybe Heather didn't love her as much, but a little bit of love was enough… for now.

"Naya?" Lea asked as she got closer, startling Naya. "Are you okay…?"

"I was just thinking, I'm sorry." She stands up and straightens her shirt. "Is the room ready?"

"Yeah, I left some clothes on the bed." Lea said.

"Thanks." Naya thanked her.

"Any time." Lea looked at the discouraged Naya walk away. "Naya?"

"Yeah?" The other girl faced her.

"Do you need me to stay with you for a while…? Until you fall asleep?" She asked carefully, not wanting to make her nervous.

The shy brunette nodded softly as she fought back tears.

"Oh, honey…" Lea walked over, sensing how sad she felt, and wrapped her up in a big hug. And Naya finally broke.

"This is so messed up…" Naya sobbed in her friend's shoulder, feeling too overwhelmed. "Lea, I'm not even supposed to be gay I don't understand why I feel this way!"

"It's okay, sweetie…" Lea rubbed her back. "It's okay to feel sad… It's okay to feel frustrated… We'd love you just as much if this were about a boy…"

Naya sobbed harder, letting go of everything she had been holding in. "What will they say, Lea, I can't handle anymore rejection…"

The other girl hugged her tighter, feeling the fear from the other girl as she spoke. "The people who matter won't reject you…"

They held each other for a little while longer, Dianna checking up on them from a far, until Naya let go, wiping away her tears.

"I'm sorry I got your shirt wet…" Naya apologized.

"It's perfectly fine." Lea smiled at her gently. "If you ever need to cry again, just call me, I'm there."

Naya nodded nervously as she bit her nails, feeling ashamed for breaking down.

"Now let's go to my room, okay?"

Naya nodded again as Lea put her hand on the girl's waist to help her walk better. Once they reached her room, Lea helped the girl change and tucked her in. After a while, Naya got annoyed by Lea's staring and decided to ask her to sing to her, which she did, and Naya fell asleep pretty fast afterwards.

A while later, Dianna heard her door open and close. Her heart started to beat rapidly, making her palms sweat. She tried to stay as still possible, not wanting to seem affected by Lea's presence, but as soon as she felt the dip in her bed, she lost it. So she gently turned around, facing the brunette.

"How is she?" She whispered, not wanting to ruin the moment with words.

"Not really good. The poor girl doesn't have a safe place to land." Lea whispered back, staring at the ceiling.

"She has us." Dianna stares at her.

"She has too much pressure." The brunette finally faces Dianna, making her breath hitch. "She has these new, confusing feelings. Anddd her whole fandom is pressuring her into doing something about those feelings. Anddd she's still in the closet. Anddd the woman she's in love with is dating someone else. I don't know, I know everything will be okay, I just wish I knew when."

"She'll be okay. She's strong." Dianna whispered. "Like you."

Lea smiled. "Yeah." The smaller girl yawned and Dianna swore it was the cutest thing she had ever seen. "Well, we need to go to sleep." She got comfortable facing her, and Dianna's heart had never beaten faster. "So goodnight."

"Night…"

"Love you."

Dianna smiled wide. "Love you, too."

And they quickly slumbered away. At least that's what Dianna told Naya; the Latina swears something else happened that night.

But that's only because it's easier to think about her friends sleeping together than about Heather.

Speaking about Heather, after she decided to give her some space, the blonde and she barely spoke out of Glee for a whole week. They went back to being the "best friends" they were, except both of them were more conscious of their actions around each other. They didn't know how many times it was acceptable to hug, or to whisper at each other, or how many times it was appropriate to have eye contact. And it hurt both of them. A lot. But they knew that they needed to wait until Taylor was gone in order to talk about it.

So after he left, and promised to come back the following month, Heather texted Naya and asked her if she could come over. Even if Dianna and Lea were reluctant about it, she decided to go because how could she deny herself some alone time with her friend?

But ten minutes in her apartment were enough for her to know that her friends were right; she shouldn't have gone.

Not only were they both extremely awkward, but the room still smelled like Taylor and some of his stuff was lying around. Heather barely noticed because she had gotten used to it, but all of that made Naya very uncomfortable. She felt like a mistress, a side bitch. Like the one you call when your wife leaves on a "trip". Her being there, even if they just talked, felt dirty. She tried to push all of these feelings aside when Heather brought some chips and beers.

"Beer?" Naya asked, eying the drink in her hands.

"Yeah, um, Taylor brought some. That's all I have to drink." Heather explained as she took a sip.

"Okay." She followed Heather's lead and took a big gulp. She scrunched her nose in disgust quickly after. Luckily, her action went unnoticed.

"So…?" Heather tried to say as casually as possible.

"So…" Naya repeated. After a long pause, the brunette spoke up again. "Is there any reason I'm here? Or did you just want to hang out?"

Heather looked away, silently answering Naya's question.

"Okay… So what's up?" Her heart started to beat a little faster, anticipating what her friend was going to say. Oh my God, she's going to tell me she loves me! Or she's going to friendzone me. Either way, it's progress.

"So… I've been thinking."

"About?" JNCDNVJBNJNVRRVNRV

"Us…"

NJDBJFKBVREHBVUJRWNVUIJWNUIV "What about us?"

Heather sighs. "So… After the second time we slept together… I realized that I felt something for you…"

JCNDJFBRUBFUIENFUIENUICEIQO;FBNUEJQWBfuejqn KC-FSN-cf3sDBUd "Go on…"

"Something deep…"

NCJDCJNUICJWNDICNEUISNCIUNCINEDCV

"But then…"

Oh God, not a but…

"Taylor came back…"

Oh no

"And… He made me feel all these things…"

Nononono…

"And I remembered why were still together… Because he makes me feel safe… He makes me laugh… He makes me feel special…"

Please don't say it…

"And I felt like I loved him… But the problem is that I feel something for you, too…"

Oh God

"I don't know what I want." Heather bit her lip, looking away. "You both give me things the other can't."

"Have you… talked to him about this?" Naya finally spoke up.

"No, I feel it isn't fair. He trusts me."

"So what are you saying?"

Heather sighted and said it all in one, big breath. "ImconfusedandIdontknowwhatIwantbutIdontwantustostopdoingwhatweredoing."

… "What?"

"You heard me…"

Naya was completely taken aback. Did Heather just indirectly say she wanted to have an affair with her..?

"I know it's wrong." Heather quickly sat next to Naya and took her hands in hers, searching for her eyes. "But you're so beautiful."

Naya stared at her, not believing how the conversation had turned out. She didn't even know how to feel. Never in a million years would she have expected this from Heather. FROM HEATHER!

Heather desperately grunted when she didn't get a response. "I know you feel something for me. I know your feelings for me are clearer, you don't even have to say it."

Naya tried to blink her disbelief away.

"I know you." Heather explained. "But right now I can't give you much…"

Naya tried to look away, but Heather's piercing blue eyes wouldn't let them leave hers.

"Look at me."

And Naya obeyed.

"You're beautiful. And I just…" She then unexpectedly leaned in and kissed her forehead. "I want to feel you…" She then kissed her cheek. "I want to make you feel loved…" She kissed her cheekbones. "I want to feel connected with you…" She started making a trail down her quivering neck. Heather faced her again, sincerity and lust in her eyes. "If I can't be with you, I want to BE with you." And without another word, she started kissing her forcefully, Naya's eyes wide.

When Heather noticed Naya wasn't kissing her back, she broke away from the kiss, frustrated. "I know you loved those two nights…"

"Yeah…" A hoarse, shocked Naya replied. "But Heather, I don't…"

"Do you feel something for me?" The blonde interrupted.

"What?"

"Do you feel something for me?'"

Naya started feeling an anxiety attack creep up on her. She had no idea what was happening.

"Just answer the question."

"Yes." She said without realizing she was answering.

"Then don't think…" Heather leaned in again, this time slower. She softly took her lover's lips in hers and kissed them carefully, scared she might break them. Naya quivered a few times, adjusting to the feel of Heather's lips against her own.

She felt his taste. She felt Taylor's saliva go inside her mouth, followed by Heather's tongue. She felt angry eyes on her, judging her every move. She felt like Santana, allowing cheating to take place. She felt filthy because she's doing everything she knows is wrong.

But as she closed her eyes, she stopped caring. As she closed her eyes, she let go and grabbed Heather's neck. Because no matter what others thought, the blonde was still her happiness. And if that meant sneaking around with her until God knows when, then so be it.

Because now… Heather was hers. Even if only when Taylor was gone.
