Rose's POV
Three weeks have passed since my incident with Scorpius. He glares at me whenever we pass each other, but just to make sure he will never tell a soul, I smile back. I've mastered Legilimency and Occulemency, but I've yet to read anyone's mind. I feel I would be invading their privacy. I can tell Scorpius is trying to read my mind again, but I block him out with a straight face each and every time.
Lily is looking more skeleton-like every day, and I wonder why. I've thought it was from stress, but stress doesn't make you look deathly. I realized not too long ago, that everyday since Scorpius called her fat, the first day here, she hasn't been at meals. I'd always believed she was just sneaky, or looked too much like every other Slytherin to tell them apart, but I believe I know what she's doing, and I won't let her. But every time I bring it up, she either changes the subject, or just ignores me. This time however, I will not let her do anything, she WILL answer me.
"Lily?" I ask politely, she's where she usually is at breakfast, the library.
"Oh hullo Rose," she says weakly, not looking away from her book.
"Lily, I'm lonely, will you come sit with me at breakfast? All of the other people aren't at the table and I've no one to sit with," I ask, pretending to assume that she already ate.
"Um, I guess. Is that like, against the rules, sitting at another table?" She says, looking away from the book.
I shake my head and put my hand out for her to take. She takes it, looking glum.
We walk to the Gryffindor table and she sits down, gulping. I grab food and set it on my plate. Not just any food, her favorite foods. Pumpkin pastries, jelly filled dough-balls, berries and a banana cream drink.
I look at her while I eat and offer her some of it. Finally she looks guilty but accepts one of the pastries, muttering, "I know what you're trying to do, Rose."
I grin and watch her eat it, and she grabs at least five more. She drinks down her drink ten times. She's eating like she hasn't eaten in years. But I guess that's good, because really, she hasn't eaten in at very least a month.
"Thank you, Lily. Just, stop trying to starve yourself. It doesn't do any good, it only makes you weak and fragile, and... I couldn't bear it if you- you know-" I say, stopping when I feel tears coming to my eyes. She hugs me and thanks me for caring.
I walk to the Charms classroom, the first class for today. The room is set up, instead of the two seat tables in rows of three, and columns of three, the tables are now organized in two columns. This is the set up for a duel. I sit and wait for the rest of the class to file in. I see green. Gryffindor against Slytherin. Okay?
"Class, today, we are going to have a duel, as you probably have guessed by now, it will be against Slytherin," Professor Reeve, who actually is the teacher for Slytherin, so he prefers them, says, licking his lips and begins to call out the duels. "Rose Weasley, Scorpius Malfoy."
Scorpius laughs and glares at me. I just gulp. The duels go well, Gryffindor has gotten 50 house points, Slytherin, 45. When it comes time for me to duel, I stretch a bit. Why is it always him?
"Begin!"
"Expelliarmus!" I scream. Scorpius blocks it.
"Stupify!" He yells back. I block.
"Wimgardeim Leviousa!" I yell, not really thinking.
Scorpius floats in the air. "Bloody hell, Weasley!" He shouts, red in the face.
"Expelliarmus!" I yell, calling the end of the duel. I pick up his wand, and let him float to the ground. I give his wand to him and bow, expecting him to do the same.
"Stupify!" He shouts. I block it, but barely.
"Expelliarmus!" He yells.
"Stop it!" I shout.
"Expelliarmus!"
"Malfoy- Stupify!" I yell. He freezes and looks at me with scared eyes. I reverse the jinx, breathing heavily. "Give it up."
"How did you beat me?" He whispers in my ear, angrily.
"I'm really good at spells Scorpio." I say. I accidentally called him that, not really thinking, it's just my lazy English.
He cocks his head and raises an eyebrow, smirking. "That may be true, Roe."
I roll my eyes at his 'insult'. "At least I don't call you Score." I giggle a bit.
He glares at me with eyes full of hatred. Icy blue hatred. I shudder.
We step off of the dueling table, Albus helps me by putting his hand out. I bow in thanks to him, and leave, as we are allowed to once the duel ends.
"Weasley!" Malfoy yells from behind me. I turn around, arms crossed, huffing.
"What, Malfoy?" I ask with a groan.
"You did well in there," he says, as if the words were controlling him, not the other way around. "I didn't want to believe that a... Girl, or-or a Weasley, could ever beat me, so thanks for changing that, I guess." He says looking at the ground.
"Not so cocky anymore, Score, are we?" I say turning around and beginning to walk back away. But Malfoy slams my back into a wall and glares at me. Bipolar much? "What did you say?" He asks, returning the venom to his words.
"I-I s-s-said not s-so c-cocky anmore." I choke. He knocked the wind out of me, and it hurt badly.
He glares at me, stiffly. This is almost the same as the library. But this time, he does something unexpected.
He leans down and kisses me. It a soft kiss, small, but it's my first. His lips taste of mint and honey. HOLD ON! MALFOY IS SNOGGING ME? EWWW!
I shove him away, unable to do anything else but stand there. Scorpius stands a few feet away from me, hurt and confusion in his eyes. He walks away, shaking his head.
I'm paralyzed for a moment. I cannot believe that Scorpius kissed me. ME! It's disgusting and confusing at the same time. Ugh!
Scorpius's POV
I kissed her! I flipping kissed her! I'm a bloody idiot! What has gotten into me? I'm going mad!
I rush to my next class, not even watching where I'm going. I end up in the room I'm supposed to be in, three minutes late. Herbology, not my favorite class at all. Professor Longbottom is a bumbling oaf who has no idea what he's teaching.
I don't pay attention as he gives out instructions. I just think of her. Her soft lips that taste like strawberries. Her red-brown hair and how it falls down her back when she lets it down, as she had today. Her tan skin, her hazel green eyes. There is no doubt in my mind that she is beautiful. I cannot escape it.
For once, the Malfoy side of me does not fight me. How she looked when I was in the air, she looked perfect, determined, brilliant and strong. But I just cannot believe she beat me.
