Don't own Inuyasha... cries .o.o.
"Achoo!"
When Kagome heard that first sneeze she thought nothing of it, Inuyasha would do so on occasion if something irritated his sensitive nose and so his son was no acceptation, but when that was followed by a second, third, and fourth in rapid succession she knew something was wrong with her little boy. "Inu-kun, are you okay sweetheart?" Kagome put down her needle work and went to check on the pup in his room, she had put him down for his afternoon nap about an hour before and he was fine so she was quite surprised to see his watery eyes and red nose when she entered. "Oh baby... what happened?"
The response she received was a small cough and sniffle followed by a soft whimper from the little boy that caused her to race to his side, after checking his temperature and finally deciding that he was indeed sick, though she had no idea how since he was a half demon and Inuyasha was never sick, she left the room to grab a bowl of water and a rag to cool his hot flesh; already her mind was trying to come up with the illness he may have and trying to figure out how to help ease his pain. Just before returning to his side she put the pot of water over the fire knowing that if he did have a swore throat a cup of tea might help. Once again at his side Kagome dipped the rag into the cool water and began to wipe his round little face, knowing he was probably uncomfortable under the thick blanket in his sweaty clothes she lifted it and helped him out of his haori. When he was settled again under the covers she placed the rag on his forehead and she started running her fingers through his hair knowing it helped his father when he was tired and couldn't sleep.
"Thinking about your father I wonder what's taking him so long." Inuyasha had gone into the village earlier that morning to speak with Miroku about they're next extermination that the monk informed him of the day before; and he had yet to return so Kagome assumed he had gone to find something for dinner later... she really wished he would hurry home now though.
Kagome was pulled from her thoughts of her mate not because she heard her son sneeze yet again but because the small trunk that Inu's toys were in glowed black for a second and levitated off the ground before crashing back down causing a loud bang. 'What was that all about?' Kagome looked from Inu to the trunk, the boy was half way asleep in her arms so there was no possible way for him to use his powers and move the trunk. Just as she came to the conclusion that he couldn't possibly have done it Inu sneezed again and this time the trunk slid across the room and smacked again the wall causing her to jump. "Inu-kun, are you using your powers?" All she got as an answer was another soft whimper from the boy as he turned into her chest for comfort, Kagome felt so bad that she completely dropped the subject an cuddled her baby trying to make him feel better.
"Oi! Kagome what's going on? Are you being attacked?" Inuyasha's gruff voice could be heard in the main room; he must have moved the pot that she forgot about away from the fire before he stuck his head into the room. "What's going on in here? Why's the pup using his powers?"
"How did you know he was?"
"I just entered the yard and my axe I use for chopping wood was floating in the air... nearly took my head off," Inuyasha nose quickly twitched signaling that he was scenting the room, "What's wrong with the pup?"
"I don't know... he was fine when I put him down but now he's sick... I thought half demons don't get sick?"
"We typically don't, human illness don't affect us, but the pup is special so he could be the exception to that logic." Inuyasha was interrupted when Inu again sneezed and not only the trunk but something else in the main room must have moved as well, the trunk nearly ran over Inuyasha's foot when it shifted, causing both parents to become alarmed. "And it would appear when he is sick he has no control over his powers... this could be a problem."
"Inuyasha, if he can't control them and things outside are moving as well the whole village could be in danger... we've got to get him better."
"And just how do you expect that to happen so fast? We don't even know what is causing the illness?" Inuyasha easily pushed the trunk back to where it belong against the wall, though he doubted it would actually stay there at this point.
Kagome racked her brain for any time of quick remedy Kaede may have taught her but nothing came to mind that would work overnight. "Hey wait what about that remedy you made me? The one you made me when I was sick remember?"
"Yeah... I guess I could go and get the ingredients... probably should actually make it outside though," Inuyasha mumbled to himself more than to his mate remembering the looks he got from her family when he showed them just what was in the remedy his mother used to make; still to this day Kagome wasn't aware of what she drank but if it would help his pup he would go back out and retrieve what was needed.
And judging by way the trunk started to wiggle again from its spot on the floor he needed to hurry quickly before every item in their hut was encased in Inu's power; he only hoped he could cure the pup before his power reached the village... that was something he was definitely sure neither Kagome nor he would want to explain.
Note: I had a little head cold a few weeks ago and that's where this came from... I thought it would be cute if Inu, while sick, didn't have control over his powers.
That's all I got for where this came from.
