Don't own Inuyasha… cries .o.o.
Kagome never realized how difficult it would be to just do one simple, ordinary, everyday thing... how could cutting a little boy's hair be such a pain. She had noticed a few days before that Inu's hair had grown quite a lot in the last month; the poor little thing kept having to push his bangs out of his eyes whenever he would sit and play with his toys on the porch and with it being the middle of summer he had to have been really hot with all that thick black hair running down his little back. Today when he nearly ran into the chest in the main room while trying to catch up to his father who was heading outside Kagome decided it was time to cut it. She wasn't sure how to go about it though, Inuyasha had been able to find a pair of scissors on one of his trips to the market and she had used them a few times on herself to keep her hair at a tolerable length, but she never has cut anyone else's hair before.
She remembered while growing up and her mother having some trouble with Souta while trying to cut his hair, boy's tended to squirm quite a lot in the chair when scissors are involved and she didn't want to hurt her son if he did the same thing. She didn't have much of a choice though when after being outside for an hour Inuyasha came back in the hut with Inu under his arm like a football in tears.
"Oi Kagome, you've got to do something bout the pup's hair... he tripped over a root while we were playing chase." Inuyasha put Inu to the floor, the minute the boy's feet touched down he hurried over to his mother who easily welcomed him into her arms for the comfort he sought.
"Well... I guess it has to be cut if he can't see."
"Cut? What are you talking about?" It was no surprise that her mate didn't understand her wording, Inuyasha probably didn't ever see someone get theirs done; demon hair grows to a point where they deem it a safe length for fighting then it just stops growing, his hasn't changed length since she met him years ago. Well no that wasn't true, there was one time when his hair got caught while fighting a demon and he had no choice but to cut it off; Kagome couldn't lie that he did look a little funny with the short cropped hair but it quickly grew back a few days later... she only hoped his son's wouldn't do the same thing.
"Yes cut, you've seen me do the same thing with my own hair; just a little bit so he can see better plus it's a very hot summer so he could do with a trim to keep him cool."
"Keh... whatever you think should be done I won't argue," Inuyasha knew his mate knew what was best for their pup.
Well despite knowing what was best Inu didn't seem to agree because later that day while Kagome tried to make him sit still while she trimmed his hair the pup refused to remain sitting for the short time it should have taken to cut it. He didn't even listen to his father, who was sitting against the wall observing, when he told the pup to calm down and let his mother finish. By the time Kagome was able to deem him done she cut a lot more than she had originally wanted in the first place; since Inu was moving around it was very hard for Kagome to keep a straight line while cutting and by the time she was able to do such the boy's hair was about up to his shoulders rather than down his back where it was before, seeing how short his hair had been Inu wasn't happy at all and was near tears again.
"Oi what you crying for pup, I told you to stay still so your mama could fix it," Inuyasha wasn't the least sympathetic for the boy since he didn't listen like he should have; though deep down he did feel for the pup with how short his hair was now; having the thick mane gone would make him feel vulnerable too.
"Mommy's sorry sweetheart, but it's only hair... it will grow back in a few months," Kagome patted his head trying to comfort him in anyway she could but it didn't seem to make him any happier judging by the pout he still had on his face.
Little did she know that statement was completely incorrect because by the time dinner was finished cooking that evening and Inu came inside from playing Kagome was shocked to see his hair had grown back. "W-What? How... how is that even possible? Inuyasha your hair doesn't even grow that fast right?"
"No, even with having demon blood it would still take a few days for it to grow back to the length it was... but I did see him using his magic while we were outside earlier."
"He used his powers to grow his hair back!?"
Both parents looked to their son for some sort of explanation as to why he would need to do such a thing, Inu who had a mouth full of noodles could sense someone staring at him; he turned to meet his parents shocked expressions. "Inu-kun, why did you make your hair grow back so fast? It's only in the way again and aren't you hot?"
Inu shook his head and finished off the bit of noodles he had been eating, "Hair long... like Papa!"
Well that was the last time Kagome tried to cut her son's hair, seeing as how he wanted to be just like his father she wasn't going to argue with him and if she did try to cut it he would probably just make it grow again... luckily Kagome had some old hair ties packed away if it ever came to this; with a child so powerful she never knew what type of items could be useful against his powers.
I got my hair cut yesterday and thought it would be cute to see Inu's first hair cut and how his powers would come into play.
