Strange New World
When the six emerged Twilight noticed she felt different, "Why do I feel so funny?"
"Uh, Twilight..." Spike began.
"What?"
"You might want to brace yourself." Carol said.
Twilight looked over at the others. Camille and Carol looked human but Aang, Astral, and Spike looked like dogs, "Spike, Astral, Aang? You guys are dogs?"
"I think so but you're a human" Astral answered.
"I'm what?" She looked out and saw she had human hands instead of hooves. Right on cue Twilight screamed till Camille smacked her upside the head.
"Cool it, Twilight."
"Sorry. It's just becoming an alicorn was one thing, but now becoming a human... That's a lot to process."
"At least you don't have your wings. Now lets go look for your crown." Carol said.
Twilight struggled to walk on two legs, while trying to maintain balance. She eventually got it down and entered the school.
Inside the group saw the whole school with students wandering around getting to class.
"So far we had no luck finding Sunset or the crown." Carol sighed.
"And this is a big school." Spike added.
"I know. And call me crazy but half the students here I feel like I already know them." Twilight put in.
"As a Greyhound if I had something of Sunset' s I could sniff her out." Astral finished.
They had no need to do that for they heard a familiar voice, "You did what with it?!"
"I found it on the ground and I thought I should give it to her. I didn't know you dropped it." Came a soft sounding voice.
They came around a corner seeing a human version of their culprit Sunset Shimmer talking down to a pale pink haired girl, "Well, I did. You should know better than to take things that don't belong to you!"
"It doesn't belong to you either." the girl muttered.
"What was that?!" Sunset got into her face.
"Nothing." The girl slid down in fear
"That's what I thought. You're so pathetic. It's no wonder your only friends are animals."
Twilight, Carol and Camille heard enough and decided it was time to speak up, "How dare you speak to her like that!" Twilight called her out.
Sunset turned to see who said that and glared, "Excuse me?"
"I said 'How dare you speak to her like that'!" Twilight repeated herself, as the two squared off.
"You have no idea how things work around here do you?" Sunset challenged her.
Camille spoke, "But I have a pretty good idea how they work. You can speak to anyone you want. Believe me I've done that before."
"Then you should know, never try to mess with me. Because I can mess you up just as hard." Sunset warned her. She took her leave and glared at one student who jumped into his locker to hide. Sunset shimmer left.
"Camille, what did you mean when you said you were there?" Twilight asked.
"Back in the states I was the Queen of Mean in my middle school. Anyone who crossed me would pay. Big time. I used to pull all kinds of cruel pranks on them. Wedgies. Swirlies, laxative you name it I used it to torment anybody who stood in my way."
The girl got up and spoke, "I can't believe you all did that."
"We couldn't just stand there and do nothing." Carol replied.
"But it's just, nobody ever stands up to Sunset Shimmer."
"Why not?" Camille asked.
"Because she rules the school."
"Rules the School?" Carol asked in disbelief.
"I'm afraid so."
"Before we go any further. Tell us who you are and what you picked up and where you put it." Camille said.
"Uh, I'm, Fluttershy."
"So your Fluttershy. Thats good to know. But what did you find?" Carol asked.
Before Fluttershy could respond she noticed the dogs accompanying them. Her eyes lit up, "Oh, my goodness!" She dashed over and kneeled before them, almost tripping the others, "Who are these sweeties?"
"They're our friends." Twilight answered.
"Oh, they're so cute," She held out dog biscuits, "Go on, eat up, pups." Astral and Aang began eating and so did Spike.
"Okay so can we talk about the item you found?" Camille asked.
"Well, it was the Fall Formal Crown." Fluttershy answered.
"And where is it now?" Carol asked.
" I didn't want anything to happen to it. So I gave it to Principal Celestia."
"Where can we find her?" Camille inquired.
"She's in the principals office down the hall and on the right. Oh, but you're not supposed to have pets on school grounds."
"So what do we do?" Carol asked.
"It'd be best to tuck them in a backpack. That's what I do," Out from her backpack came a bunny, a bird, and a cat, "They just get so lonely when I'm at school all day."
"Except the dogs Carol and I have are a bit too big for that." Camille reminded her.
"Oh, that is a problem." Fluttershy admitted.
"We'll figure something out." Carol replied, as Fluttershy grabbed her animals and headed for class.
The group of Twilight, Carol, and Camille raced to Celestia's office and when they got there Camille was the one to do the talking, "Well, if you'd want the crown you'll have to win it in the election for Princess of the Fall Formal." Principal Celestia explained.
"The Fall Formal?" Carol asked.
"An event that happens around this time during the Fall." The Principal explained.
"And can anyone run?" Camille wondered.
"Yes. Though normally these last few years it's always been one runner for it."
"Why is that?" Carol asked.
"I'm not exactly sure, but only Sunset Shimmer chooses to run for any of our events."
"Well not this time. Twilight is going to run and She's gonna win." Camille declared.
"Well, to sign up, you'll need to see the head of the party planning committee." Celestia instructed.
"Ok. One more thing," Carol began, "I know there is a rule against pets on school grounds, but Aang and Astral are our familiars and guide dogs."
"And Spike serves as Twilight's guide. Can you make an exception for our case?" Camille pleaded.
Celestia pondered, as she eyed the dogs, "Very well, as long as they stay out of trouble."
"Thank you very much." Twilight thanked her.
The three girls left the office after getting a permit from Celestia before meeting in the hall, "If we're going to win the crown then we will have to sign up and one of us has to beat Sunset." Carol said.
"I'll do it. It's my crown after all." Twilight volunteered.
"Are you sure? I competed in an event like this a 2 years ago and it can get pretty ugly." Camille warned her.
"I have to do this. Sunset stole from me and I'm gonna get it back."
"We'll help as much as we can." Carol offered.
"First we need to find the head of the party committee." Twilight noted.
"But do you even have a plan to win the crown?" Spike inquired.
"I have no idea." She admitted.
Camille rolled her eyes, "We're screwed."
"Well, thanks for the support." Twilight replied dryly.
"Let's just get going." Camille suggested. So the team went to get going on their plan.
