A/N Sorry for the delay with this update, I have had a major case of writer's block. I also apologize for the short length of this chapter but I wanted to get something out to y'all :) I hope you enjoy it! I love reviews & suggestions!
"Jane stop!" Maura screamed over her shoulder in protest as she ran through the house followed closely by her detective.
"Never! Not until you admit that the Red Sox are the best team of all time!" Jane replied, closing the gap and grasping the M.E. by the waist, eliciting a shriek from the smaller woman.
"Jane! You know full well I cannot lie. I will go vasovagal! Now unhand me this instance." Maura replied in mock annoyance.
"Vase a bagel my ass! Now I am going to make you rethink your heinous lies." The detective growled as she picked up the squealing doctor. Flinging her over her shoulder, she ran carefully up the stairs towards the bedroom. Reaching the centre of the room, she swiftly deposited Maura onto the bed before hovering closely over her. "Now, Maura dear, are you prepared to admit defeat?"
Maura's breath hitched as she felt the brunette's warm breath against her neck. "N..never" She whispered, her voice quickly becoming unreliable due to her growing state of arousal.
"Well then dear I think you deserve to be punished for your gross distortion of the great American sport that is baseball." Jane teased, running her tongue over the blonde's ear, making her shiver in anticipation.
"Do your worst." Maura husked, thoroughly aroused both by Jane's threat and her sudden dominant attitude. She closed her eyes as Jane's mouth encased her earlobe, teeth gently tugging. She moaned as she felt her lover's hands coming to her sides, caressing her gently before... "HAHAH JANE...HAHA...STOP!" Maura screeched as Jane tickled her sides relentlessly.
"Admit it!" Jane replied, her fingers still teasing the doctor's body.
"FINE!" Maura responded through her fit of giggles. Jane stopped her movements, leaving her hands to rest gently on the M.E's hips. Jane did not notice the cheeky glint in her lover's eye until Maura had successfully rolled them over, now pinning Jane to the bed. "That was very naughty Jane. I think I should be the one to punish you." Maura grinned before tickling the detective until she was in tears of amusement.
Maura stilled her hands as she looked down at her lover's eyes, now dark with arousal. Both woman's chests heaving as they breathed heavily. Maura licked her lips before dipping her head and claiming Jane's lips with her own. She moved one hand to gently caress her lover's cheek as she traced her other hand down Jane's body until she reached the waistband of her pants. He finger dipped down ever so slightly, gently ghosting the brunette's skin, making her moan into the blonde's mouth. Just as Maura's hand reached the apex of Jane's core a phone began buzzing.
Jane groaned audibly. "Just ignore it Maur" she whispered as she reclaimed Maura's lips. Maura acquiesced for a moment before the constant buzzing became too much for her to ignore.
"It could be important Jane. Everyone knows we are on vacation, they wouldn't call unless it's urgent." Maura responded as she reluctantly pulled herself away from the detective and retrieved her phone.
"Dr Isles." She answered brushing a loose strand of hair out of her face. "Oh hi Susie, how can I assist you." She moved the phone to her other ear as she sat up against the bedhead.
"God damn cock blocking Chang is at it again." Jane muttered under hear breath, resulting in a glare from Maura. Jane groaned as she rolled over to till she was on her stomach, quickly burying her face in the pillow. She laid lifeless as the M.E. continued her conversation.
"Oh no! Email me the relevant paperwork and I will make sure it is executed and returned post-haste... Ok Susie, bye." Ending the call, Maura scooted back down the bed and rolled over so that she was facing a now limp Jane. She began lightly running her nails back and forth along the exposed skin of Jane's arm.
"What did Chang want?" Jane queried as she turned her head to the side to face her girlfriend.
"The mass spectrometer in the lab blew up! I need to sign the insurance forms immediately if we want the machine to be repaired in a timely manner."
"Oh no, your new toy." Jane replied in a monotone.
"And don't think I didn't hear your thoughts on Senior Criminalist Chang!" Maura did her best to give Jane a disapproving look.
"Oh don't look at me like that, you know it is true!" Jane retorted.
"Whilst I admit that Susie does often have unfortunate timing, I might point out that neither of us have the anatomy you referred to in such a vulgar manner, therefore your argument is..." Jane silenced the M.E. by pulling her down and kissing her soundly before pulling away.
"Now, I believe you have some paperwork to sign, and I am going to get dinner on." Jane lifted herself off the bed as Maura retrieved her laptop from the floor beside the bed. Jane swiftly jumped back on the bed to give Maura one last kiss before she retreated from the room, leaving a smiling doctor watching her walk away.
Maura headed down stairs after she had finally completed all the required paperwork. The sun had since gone down and the doctor's stomach grumbled as she made her was through towards the dining room. She was surprised to find it empty, she thought for sure Jane would have finished dinner by now. Shrugging her shoulders, the M.E. made her way through to the kitchen. Another empty room, and from what she could tell, there was no dinner made in this kitchen. There were no dirty dishes in sight! She looked around bemused until she noticed a small piece of paper lying on the kitchen bench.
Maura dear,
I know you are stressed about your mass spectomathingy, so I thought we could do something different tonight. Follow the petals.

Giggling, the blonde gently placed the note back onto the kitchen counter before looking down at the floor and noticing a line of red rose petals scattered along the floor. She quickly followed the petals as instructed, being careful not to tread on any of them, she wanted to collect them later. Her helt melted as she reached the living room. Her lips curling into a soft smile as she took a moment to drink in the sight in front of her. Jane was sitting on a blanket surrounded by more petals in front of their favorite fireplace, it's flames flickering gently. The room replete with lit candles and there was a bottle of wine and a box of pizza alongside Jane.
The M.E. quickly made her way over and took a seat on the blanket. "This is beautiful Jane, thank you!" She leant over and gave Jane a peck on the cheek.
"I'm glad you like it sweet girl. I hated that you were stressed on our vacation, so I had to do something to take your mind off it." Jane replied as she opened the pizza box. "Mushroom for me lady and pepperoni for oneself."
"Of course." Maura chuckled as she reached for a piece of her mushroom pizza. She moaned as she bit into the pizza. "Mmm God Jane this is good pizza!"
"Mmm yeah it is!" Jane replied eagerly as she stuffed her face with pizza. "Wine Maur?" She offered holding the bottle in her hands.
"Yes please sweetie."
The women ate in comfortable silence, simply enjoying the beautiful room and being in the presence of each other.
After they had finished eating dinner, Jane cleared the dishes and the empty box of pizza. When she returned to the living room, Maura was lying on the blanket staring at the fire. Jane was completely enraptured by this beautiful woman in front of her.
"Penny for your thoughts?" Jane asked as she laid down beside Maura.
"I was just wondering how I got so lucky." She replied as she looked lovingly at Jane. "How I went from being the misfit adopted child who seemed unlovable to being with the love of my love, having her family and friends as my own. It's sometimes overwhelming. In a good way."
Jane shuffled closer and started playing gently with blonde curls. "You could never be unlovable Maur. You are without a doubt the greatest person I have ever met. I am pretty sure my mother loves you more than she loves me." Jane responded with a chuckle. "And you would be the only person to ever think that my family is overwhelming in a good way."
Maura laughed heartily, causing Jane's heart to swell with pride. Pride that she could put that breathtaking smile on her lover's face. Pride in the other woman herself who was such a miraculous person. Her heart also swelled with intense love. Never before had Jane felt such a strong love for another person, apart from family, and she simply loved the feeling. Jane was so used to keeping those emotions and feeling bottled up, but she suddenly realized that she didn't have to anymore. She shouldn't keep it to herself anymore.
"I love your laugh." Jane stated, kissing the doctor's cheek. "It makes my heart ache for you. And I love your smile." She kissed her other cheek. "It gives my world light even in the darkest of times. And I love your hair." She kissed the other woman's head as she ran her fingers through her silky smooth hair. "It is always so soft and it smells delightful and it is just beautiful - like you. I love how you tend to ramble when you are nervous." Jane kissed Maura's forehead as she continued. "It reminds me that in spite of the fact that you are the most intelligent, beautiful woman I know, you are still very grounded. I love that you have a tortoise for a pet." She kissed her nose. "And yes, I do know he is a tortoise, not a turtle. I love that fact because it reminds me how you don't conform to what some people may consider as the norm. I love that you are special. You are unique. You are one of a kind and you are mine." She kissed her lips. "I just think I love every single thing about you."
"I love you too Jane, everything about you. I didn't know what it meant to love somebody until you came into my life." They embraced each other in a kiss that quickly became heated. "I think this is my new favorite room." Maura muttered causing Jane to giggle.
"Well you are going to love it even more by the time I am done with you tonight." Jane replied suggestively as she moved to straddle the M.E.
