"C'mon." Jubilee urged.
"You're crazy!" Rogue huffed.
"They'll kick us out." Kitty agreed.
"Well, I'm not buying you anything that can't take a good banging. Though I'm kinda seeing what's got you hot for this one. Four poster? Man, throw in some rope and you could work some serious kinks out, if ya know what I mean."
"Jubilee!"
Blushing every shade of red she knew, Rogue wished she had something to gag Jubilee's gutter mouth with. Glancing back at the lady circling them like a shark, she didn't know if the woman was looking to make a sale or deciding whether or not to call the cops.
"God, I can't believe I'm doing this." Rogue grumbled as she climbed up on the bed with Jubilee.
Rolling her eyes, Kitty followed suit. Jubilee counted down from three and as one they started jumping on the bed as hard as they could. The sales lady moved fluidly through the store, her heels clicking away as she approached to voice her protest, looking absolutely livid and ready to get Old Testament on them.
"Just what do you think you're doing?!"
"Shut up and take my money!"
Flashing her credit card, Jubilee beamed at the woman who stared at her in sheer incredulous disbelief.
"I'm calling the police." The woman snapped, turning sharply on her heel to stalk off to a sales counter.
"Wait, wait! The bed, we'll buy it! Charge it! Not me!" Jubilee begged, rushing after the woman in her socked feet, slipping about on the sales floor to fall on her bottom.
"Run?" Kitty asked.
"Run!" Rogue agreed.
Snatching up their shoes, Jubilee was on her own because it was every gal for herself.

Now

"So that's the story behind this bed?"
With her room bathed in the soft glow of white Christmas lights, Rogue enjoyed another mouthful of her vanilla ice cream bathed in Baileys. Fresh from a shower, Logan sat in only his jeans against one of the four posts of the bed as she curled with all the pillows that laid at her head board.
"I guess ya can figure out she didn't go gettin' arrested or nothing, heck once Jubes paid for it we got invited back for a little more shopping." A vanity, a full length mirror, and a settee were a few of the other items that had caught her eye that shopping trip.
Gone was the heat of the day that rose a sweat, something she missed the sight of as she stared at Logan's bare chest. Setting her empty bowl at an end table, Rogue crawled to Logan to rest her head upon his lap. His hand fell to her side out of habit, their friendship having seen many quiet evenings in spent watching a movie or just whiling away a fire in the den. But the touch that trailed down her belly wasn't so friendly, nor did she want it to be.
Dressed in only her green and yellow polka dot bikini, she could feel his eyes on her and the tented fabric she blamed on the air conditioning that rose goose bumps down her. She had yet to shower from a day spent cooling off with the pool, yet to slip into something a little more suiting for a night out with the girls so Jubilee could properly reward Logan for being her heroic handy man.
"Shame about the scenery huh?" Rogue whispered with a playful look to Logan, enticing him to be bolder with his touch.
To feel him brush her hip and trail a thumb at the delicately stitched him, she wished she had been bold enough to wear string bikini as Jubilee had, even if she had pulled on a pair of denim cutoffs after. Envisioning all her modesty undone from a flimsy bow as Logan tugged at a the string as if a ribbon, the slight knot would slip and she'd be revealed to him.
Now it wasn't the cold that left her peaking, but the arousal that was reflected in his eyes as she lost herself to his intent gaze. Content to lay no longer, she turned on him with all the feline grace of a tigress, stalking up him on all fours with a hunger in her eyes. Her lips hovered near his to feel his warm breath against her, striking at last without any of the bashful baby steps that had seen them through their kiss from the night past.
Bold she had wished he be and bold he was as he stole her bottom in hand to pull her into his lap, to feel her breasts against his chest and her peaked interest. Kneading her flesh with an experience beyond all her years, his touch was electric as he explored her with complete abandon. To feel him wrap her up in his arms, to feel his hand run through her messy hair and take it between his knuckles, Rogue let go of their kiss with a guttural grunt as she arched against him.
With her neck bared to him he claimed her between his teeth, marked her and suckled and kissed her flesh to raise a telling mark that said she was his. Biting her bottom lip in a flutter of lashes as she surrendered her sight to the darkness behind her lidded eyes, she grasped his shoulders between her white knuckled grip and ground against him in the release of all her years of unsated desire for the simplest kiss against her lips.
Thrown against her bed, trapped beneath his broad, weighty frame she looked at him in sudden surprise to feel his touch grow soft and gentle.
"Shit..." Rogue gasped, struggling for breath as she stared into his eyes.
His kiss turned tender this time, tasting in it the tang of iron that told of her bruised flesh beneath his bite. Digging her nails into the meat and muscle of his shoulders, she repaid him in kind as she felt something slick beneath her fingers that wasn't the sweat their tussle had rose between them.
"Logan..." Rogue called, begged and pleaded. "Logan!"
"What?!" His tone wasn't harsh but instead hurried from his own needy, ragged breath, drunk as he was on his thirsty desire he longed to slake.
Only now could he hear the knocking at her door that even she couldn't tell how long it had been going on for.
"Shit." Logan echoed her earlier oath, but still held her beneath him for one more kiss.
"I still gotta shower..."
"I'll go tell 'em you're bein' fashionably late then."
Rewarding him with a peck on the cheek as she struggled to get out from beneath him, as she rushed off to the door an idea struck her.
"Logan...could you pick me out something to wear?" Smiling at him from the threshold of her bath, Rogue turned her back to him and treated him once more.
Slowly striping out of her bikini as she worked the bottoms to her very ankles, as she rose she looked over her shoulder to see him admiring her with all the heat his wandering eyes never held for those harmless looks at Kitty and Jubilee. Drawing the door shut behind her, she wondered just what his inflamed imagination would find for her to wear on their evening out...

Then

The walls were bare, the closet empty, and the only clothes she had were still packed in her suitcase now that they had checked out of their hotel. But as Rogue looked around...it struck her that this was really her room now. Finding a little of that childish enthusiasm that Jubilee had in spades, she rushed at her new bed for a bellyflop.
"Knock, knock." Kitty called from the door that had been left open.
"Ya get the network figured out yet?" Rogue asked as she waved Kitty in, a little self serving at seeing the two mugs of coffee she had.
Accepting one for a sip, it soothed away her jitters. Only this morning they were wandering around Los Angeles looking at crummy apartments and now they were welcomed home.
"Yep, anyway Jubes is making popcorn and the pizza guy came, so we're ready to christen the home theatre for a movie night."
The days of crowding around a monitor to watch the latest Hollywood blockbuster Kitty had pirated were over, they were living the life. Except there was still a sadness that lingered around the house. For Jubilee the reasons were obvious, having finally come home to an empty house that hadn't been her home for years. Looking to her phone, Rogue realized her own reason.
It all came down to a promise, one she knew he'd keep but wondered if she should test so soon. A pinch and a tickle had her yelp and laugh, but as she looked to Kitty she saw the clear worry her friend had for her.
"I kinda figured you'd be missing your big, gruff Canuck."
"I don't miss him, god Pryde, we've only been away...for four days..." It was a lie she tried to believe herself, but if Kitty wasn't buying it why should she?
Ignoring the ususal sass she was accustomed to from the Southern Belle, Kitty bounced off the bed and snagged Rogue's laptop that sat with her luggage. Booting it up, she played around with the wireless, typing in the encryption key from memory. Playing with a custom Wolverine inspired clawed cursor, she swung it down to an icon that hadn't been there before her meddling.
"Skype?" Quizzically arching a curious eyebrow at Kitty, Rogue waited as a call was made.
And then there he was...obviously trying to figure out how it all worked with the way he vanished off screen or went so far as to get an eye full fo the webcam.
"Ya there kid? I see ya and Kit, can you see me? And just where the hell are ya stayin' anyway, the Ritz?" Logan grumbled as he fiddled with his laptop.
"I see ya Logan..."
Here all she'd been thinking about was calling him and hoping he was up what with the time difference, but with a faltering smile as tears rolled down her cheeks, Rogue was glad to have a friend way ahead of her. Pulling Kitty into a desperate hug, her homesickness was eased away with a peek at Logan watching it all play out from across the country.
"Take your time. Oh, and just so you know...Jubes already said he's got an open invitation to visit if he wants to move all our stuff for us, beats hiring a mover. We'll be waiting when you're ready."
Scampering off without a word more, Kitty quietly closed the door behind her. Left alone but not feeling so, Rogue curled cross-legged with her laptop and smiled at Logan.
"Hi hun, actually we found a place. Couldn't ask for a better deal. Why don't I show ya around my room?"
Picking up her laptop, she let his voice guide her from the view from her window to the bare walls and everything she'd picked up shopping today. Settling at her settee with the window cracked to invite in evening, she laughed and giggled as Logan took her for a tour of his room that she knew by heart. It was a reminder of everything she missed, thinking of her own movie nights with him, curled up on his lap with her laptop warming hers.
"Looks a little bare, I seem to remember there bein' a pile o' boxes in a few ladies rooms around here."
Packing had been the worst of it, wondering what to take and what to leave. It was a choice between keepsakes and memories and all the things that made her room hers. She'd once left everything behind with only the clothes on her back and what could fit in her knapsack, and the memory of it was almost too much to bare as she got on that flight.
"Well like I'm sure ya heard, if ya felt like loading up a trailer and taking a trip we got plenty o' room for ya. Genuine guest room, no crashing on a couch for our favourite Canuck."
Nursing a beer as he pretended to consider the offer, as much as she missed him he missed her, it was all to be seen in his eyes. There was the softness he always had for her, the mischief of an off colour joke or some smart ass remark after she'd left herself open.
"Homesick already?"
Unable to speak, Rogue nodded her head and clenched her eyes tight against the tears. It was all too real that she wouldn't be going back for years, not for anything else other than the holidays with what had become her family.
"I'll head into town tomorrow to get a trailer and I see ya when I get there, just make sure ya get me an address to where I'm going."
"Thank you Logan..." Rogue croaked with a quickly drawn breath, shaking her head at feeling so silly after getting homesick so soon.
"Anything else ya wanna talk about?"
It was an awful temptation to while away her time alone with him, to pretend he was just a few rooms away like it had been for as long as she had known him. But as she looked around her room and let her gaze fall on her bed, she thought of the memory that had already been made there and of her friends who were waiting for her.
"How about I save it 'till ya get here, ya won't believe the place we found..." He was too far away to know she was fibbing from her scent, but he never needed it to know her having a little fun of her own.
"I'll be waiting kid."
Smiling at him as she hovered her clawed cursor to end the fall, it was worse than their silly games of telling the other to hang up all those times he'd called from the road. She knew he wouldn't hang up on her, he never had, so she found the gumption for a quick click that had her screen go blank. Sitting there with the warmth of her laptop against her legs, a text drew her to her vanity to find her phone.
Sleep tight and sweet dreams, and give those friends of yers a hug for the ol' Canucklehead.
Laughing as she read the text from him, it was everything she needed to dry her eyes and head down to find them. Popcorn and pizza waited with plenty of room for her to squeeze in on the couch for a night in with her friends.
