Chapter 3
Spock was happy have the comforts of his personal quarters, even if he was still in his captains body.
Usually he would meditate or read to pass the time. Vulcans didn't need as much sleep as humans did, but right now he felt exhausted. He often noticed McCoy yelling at Jane for her bad sleeping habits, and he guessed that he was now paying the consequences.
He sat on the edge of his neatly made bed and removed his knee high black combat boots. In a way he was secretly pleased that Kirk had chosen to wear her golden command dress rather than the warmer uniform, as uncomfortable as it was. Not in a perverted way, but her body temperature was much hotter compared to his cool Vulcan body, he probably would have fried.
He sighed, and that surprised him, which made him want to sigh again. Not only was he physically exhausted, but emotionally as well. As soon as the switch had happened he'd felt his Vulcan control slip away with his body. He assumed that Jane would have his emotional control, but judging by her temper that hasn't happened.
This body was filled with angry hormones and not an ounce of self discipline. He might as well have been born human considering how he was feeling right now.
He considered getting changed for bed but decided against it. He knew how Kirk valued her privacy, she probably wouldn't appreciate him seeing more of her body than he needed to.
He decided it would be too uncomfortable to sleep with his hair tied in the way it was, so he felt around the back of his head and found a stick like item and been shoved though it. He pulled it out and felt the thick dirty blonde locks fall down his back. This was a very unusual sensation, and it almost felt heavy. He looked at what was holding it up and smiled. It was her favorite pen, the one she had been obsessively complaining about loosing this morning, saying she'd murder who ever had stolen it.
He placed it on his bedside table and got into bed. But not matter what way he laid, the curves of his captains body made it surprisingly uncomfortable.
This was going to be a long night.
Meanwhile, Kirk was having problems of her own.
She was laying on her unmade bed, still in her boots and facing the ceiling, she had a small fabric ball that she was throwing up in the air and catching.
Spock had super sharp reflexes and it was fun to play with them, but there was only so much of that she could take. god damn, what does Spock even do all night? she thought to herself. She figured he probably meditated or some weird shit like that. She huffed with boredom and let the ball fall onto the bed. Any other time she couldn't sleep, she'd go find Spock and play chess until she found herself being awkwardly nudged awake by him after falling asleep mid game, to be sent back to bed like a restless child. But she figured he'd be asleep by now, she knew she had been tired. Hey, maybe he'll kick her body clock back into gear and cure her insomnia, who knows.
Actually the more that she thought about it, the more thankful she was that this had happened with Spock, and not some other random male crew member. who knows what they'd be up to by now. She had literally left her body in someone elses care. But she didn't even need to think twice about trusting Spock. He was her fist officer, he had her back, and his moral compass is sound. He had too much respect for her to be doing anything inappropriate with her body, and she wouldn't do anything inappropriate with hi-oh my god i can Vulcan nerve pinch people she thought, Bones better watch out.
She smiled to herself and then realized she had left her information tablet on the bridge, she had been secretly downloading games onto it, that would pass the time. She got up and walked to the door. It had automatically locked so she had to override it with Spock ID code. It was only supposed to be for emergencies, but Spock did it all the time when she was being emotional and locking everyone out. When she was out she made sure her door was locked before turning around and seeing two female officers walking past her. She knew their faces but could really put names to them. They giggled into each other as they walked past, trying so obviously not to look at her. what the hell were they laughing -
oh.. fuck. she thought. I look like Spock... Those two giggling girls just witnessed Spock, coming out of my personal quarters,.. in the middle of the night. fuck.
