Lucy POV

To say the farmhouse was large was quite the understatement. The Drake's farmhouse was gorgeous and surrounded by luscious woods and nature. I sat slack-jawed in the passenger seat of Helena's jeep staring at the mass of trees and the place I'd be staying in for the next week.

We were pulling into the driveway when I saw Solange scamper out of the house and run towards us.

"Good Morning! How are you feeling today?" Solange asked chipperly. I grinned at her. This girl was mesmerizing. I was quick to learn she was kind and sweet; frankly, she was contagious.

"Morning. I'm good, thanks. Your home is so beautiful." I really meant it. "It just screams elegance and-uh-all that other fancy schmancy stuff, you know?"

Both Helena and Solange chuckled, before she answered me. "Wait until you see the boys at the table eating breakfast: there is nothing elegant or beautiful about that."

I glanced at Helena. "Oh, you have younger kids?"

Solange paled slightly and turned to Helena. "Mom, you didn't tell her about the boys?"

Helena seemed like the type of person to never be caught off guard and always on top of a situation. So, seeing her so shocked came as a surprise to me. To be frank, they both looked pretty horrified and I was suddenly anxious for what to expect.

As if on cue, the front door opened and out came the calvary. Solange groaned and rolled her eyes as 'the boys' held a large banner and balloons. The banner had different colors for each letter spelling out "WELCOME BACK LUCKY" and on the blank space around they filled it with family pictures.

I spotted Nicholas and waved as we reached them. Before I could utter a single thank-you I was in someone's arm being squeezed to death.

"Luccyyyy! I missed you, love, and it's SO good to see you nice and healthy again. You gave us quite the scare, you know." My attacker said hugging me tightly meanwhile he patted my head. I could only mumble something that resembled a 'hello' into his chest when he pulled back and held me at arm's length.

I was staring at a perfect, cheeky, smile paired with dark hair, blue eyes, and cute dimples. Seriously, first Solange and Nicholas, and now this guy? The Drakes had some damn good genes running in their family.

"Quinn, stop hogging her! Lucy get over here. I missed you more!" Once again I was pulled into someone else's embrace and before I knew it I was in the middle of a tug of war.

"Logan. LO-gan. LOGAN. It's my turn."

"Oh hell no, Conner, it's MY turn. Come here Lucy!"

"Back off, Marcus!"

"Quinn, you already got a turn!"

"O-kay, Sebastion enough already, my turn!"

After a few minutes of disarray, someone finally gave me some room to breathe by pulling me out of No Man's Land. Nicholas had thrust me by his side and glared at the pile of strangers fighting over who missed me the most.

Everyone stopped moving for a few seconds and then the group of boys started cracking up and elbowing eachother. Nicholas went rigid next to me and didn't say a word.

"Boys." Helena had crept in front of me and I could only imagine the look on her face given that the guys all froze and simultaneously cringed. "Are you all aware that Lucky is recently recovering and that she might be overwhelmed by a bunch of strangers ganging up on her like that?"

They all bowed their heads and nodded. I held in my laugh as Helena continued, "Then maybe you should all give her some space and introduce yourselves like the gentlemen I raised you to be, hm? Honestly, sometimes I think Nick and Sebastion are the only clear headed one's among the lot of you."

"But Mom! I'm clear headed! Look I even got some name tags for everyone so Lucy- or um- Lucky can learn our names faster."

I looked around and sure enough everyone except Solange and Helena were wearing blue name tags with the whole, HELLO, MY NAME IS...

Helena sighed and even though she was shaking her head at...Quinn, I could tell she was holding back a small smile. "Alright, alright. Let's all go back inside and eat some breakfast, okay?"

As Helena ushered everyone inside, Solange scampered towards me towing someone behind her.

"Lucky, this is my dad." she introduced us with a large smile. The man she pointed to was very handsome man that had a certain gentle quality about him. In fact, he looked very Prince Charming-like.

"Hi, I'm Lucky. Er, I guess you knew that right?" I gave a nervous laugh as he shook my hand.

"Nice to meet you again, Lucky. You can call me Liam and I hope that you feel comfortable here. I just want you to know that you're family to us and we care very much for you. So, if you ever need anything, honey, do not hesitate to ask. Even the smallest thing, understood?" Liam implored.

"Thank you, I really really appreciated it." I told Liam and I meant it. He gave me a shy smile before nodding and then going to Helena's side.

At this point I knew life at the Drake house would be interesting. I still had worries of course but hell, who wouldn't? Millions of questions were fluttering around in my head searching for an escape to no prevail. The Drakes, from what I can tell, are good people and my parents trust them but why would they be the only memory that had escaped me in my accident?

How is it that I can remember every birthday, every Christmas, every childhood memory, and not a single trace of the Drakes?

Sitting at the Drake's dining room table, even though the pancakes were okay and the boys were hilarious, all I could even concentrate on was this one single question.

Suddenly I was startled by Nicholas nudging my side with his elbow, interupting my thoughts.

"Hm?" I stared at my plate and poked at my chocolate pancake. Nicholas cleared his throat and I finally looked up at him.

"Lucy-" he began.

"It's Lucky." I automatically corrected.

"Lucky, you've only had a single bite of your pancakes. Tell me what you're thinking."

Honestly I was kicking myself for being so obvious. Or maybe he was really observent? One thing for certain: I couldn't tell him the truth. So, instead I did what I do best and blurted out the first thing that was on my mind.

"These pancakes taste like cardboard." I whispered stupidly. Or at least I thought I said it quietly. The conversation at the table stopped and the forks clanked on every plate as everyone turned to stare at us.

I immediately stared at my hands in my lap and felt my face burn. The silence dragged on and then was shattered by Nicholas' throaty laugh. He was cracking up and sure enough the rest of his family began to holler with laughter.

"I-I don't, uh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be so blunt or-GodI'msodamnrude-I cannot believe I just said that." I sputtered as their laughter died down.

Solange spoke up still clutching her stomach, "Don't be sorry Lucky! It's just that Nick made those pancakes!"

I was mortified. I turned back at Nicholas and smiled sheepishly. I was about to apologize a million more times when he held up a hand.

"Don't start saying sorry. It's because the same thing happened back when we were kids so they're just laughing at me not you. Oh and besides I put too much flour and not enough chocolate in the pancakes so you aren't completely wrong there."

I smiled at him and laughed along with the rest of the Drakes until one of the brothers, Logan, jumped up and grinned wickedly.

"MOM! Where are all the family tapes? We need to catch Lucky up with all our craziness and what better way than to bust out the VHS player?!" he declared. I had a feeling Logan was very dramatic and it wasn't just his clothes.

Everyone migrated into the living room and after the boys scuffled over who got to sit next to me (Solange and Sebastion) we began watching the tapes.

Of course the first video was of an exhausted Helena and prideful Liam bringing Solange home from the hospital.

"Boys! Come see your new baby sister!" Liam exclamed bearing the largest smile while holding a small bundle in his arms. Seconds later a mass of children barreled down the stairs and gathered in the living room. Liam crouched down and the boys circled him. "Her name's Solange. Listen up boys! As Solange's big brothers its your responsibility to protect her from all the evil, dangerous boys who want to date her."

"Liam, isn't it too early to be thinking of Solange dating?" Helena asked, amused.

"It's NEVER too early." Liam said with a straight and serious face. "You hear that boys? The first rule is NO dating for my little princess! I mean look at her, honey, she's so cute I'm going to have to invest in a shotgun."

As they ooh-ed and ahh-ed, Conner pulled at the newborn's blanket and she began to holler. "Why is she screaming like that, Daddy?"

"Maybe if we scream with her she'll feel more comfy!" Quinn said before Liam could respond. Behind the recorder, Helena shot Liam a glare and winced as seven boys began a symphony of screaming.

"BOYS. BOYS!-Lord, Liam would you stop them?-BOYS!" Helena pleaded desperately before shutting off the recorder.

"Every single day was a handfull with you boys." Helena shook her head laughing. "Solange you were such a breath of fresh air...well until you started going along with Lucky's schemes."

I glanced up at that last part and cracked a smile. That did sound like me: corrupting innocent kids into mischevious monsters. Solange was grinning from ear to ear and she winked at me. "I'll tell you about all the crap we used to do later. I promise."

I was about to reply when Duncan shushed me saying the next video was about to start. "This one's the one where our families went to the park. It's probably in my fave top five videos of all time, you'll see."

The video started with a seven year old me and Solange sitting next to each other eating ice cream.

"Lucy, sweetheart, why don't you and Solange play hide-and-seek with the boys?" Cass, Lucy's mother, asked. It was clear she and Helena were trying to hold back their laughter.

"Because, momma." Lucy rolled her eyes. "Mr. Drake is always saying we should stay away from boys when we're older. Solange turned eight last week so now she's ALL grown up and we are not gonna talk to the boys."

Solange nodded, and then added, "They have cooties, Mrs. Hamilton. You should stay away from them too."

Helena and Cass were dying with laughter in the background as Liam turned pink. Before he could begin explaining, Nicholas bounded over breathless from running.

"Sol, aren't you gonna play?" He asked excitedly. When she turned the other way and scoffed he looked heartbroken. "What about you, Lucky? Don't you want to play?"

"Nicky, my name is Lucy!" she huffed. Lucy bounced up from the bench and ran away from Nicholas. Solange darted after Lucy and Nicholas chased after them. Cass left Liam and Helena behind as she trotted after the young children in an effort to catch them on tape.

Of course Lucy had led them all to the large duck pond which was in the middle of the park. Cass had waved Liam, Helena and her husband Stuart over and was about to call after them when Lucy began to yell.

"L-U-C-Y! No K, okay? LUCY. My name is Lucy!" with every letter she poked Nicholas in the chest. "You know what, Nicky? You need a bath because you have cooties!"

Cass' giggling was cut chort as she witnessed Lucy shoving Nicholas into the duck pond. Luckily, Nick knew how to swim as he broke the water's surface, sputtering.

"Lucky! I'm gonna get you back for that!" he declared as Lucy and Sol ignored him. Lucy was joking about how 'Nicky was a ducky" when Nick grabbed her ankle and pulled her into the water.

Soon all the boys jumped in after them and started quacking away meanwhile Lucy and Nicholas were splashing each other with water.

"Oh my goodness that water must be filthy." Cass told Helena as they both sighed, exhausted from trying to wrangle so many kids out of the water.

"Yeah, well I have seven boys. I'm used to the chaotic messes." Helena responded, earning a sympathetic look from Cass.

At this point I began to tune out the voices in the video. In all honesty, seeing myself in the video along with the Drakes and my parents had startled me. Looking around the room, everyone was smiling and laughing fondly at the screen.

My younger self had even yelled that my name was Lucy. I had traces of goosebumps along my flesh. It was eery hearing those words come from my own lips. I got up from the couch and mumbled some excuse about needing to use the restroom.

No one paid any attention to me, most likely because I tried my absolute best to act like I wasn't having a mental breakdown.

Then, I realized, I had been walking aimlessly AND I had no idea where the bathroom was AND I was in a random hallway in the Drake residence AND I was probably lost. Go, me. *insert eyeroll*

"Need some help?" A gentle voice asked behind me. I turned slowly and appraised the situation. Before I could answer, Nicholas stopped me. "What am I thinking? Of course you do. The bathroom's the next two doors down and to the left."

I nodded and uttered a quick thanks. I was planning on scampering away and hiding in the restroom for a few minutes until I stopped myself. "You know what? I don't even need to go to the bathroom. I just had to, umm, stretch. So...yeah. Why'd you follow me?"

I internally kicked myself for such a lame excuse and stupid question.

"I figured the layout of our house didn't magically return to your memory so I thought you'd need some help. And you seemed pretty freaked out by the videos so this me checking to see if you're okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine, thanks." I said. Nicholas didn't seem to buy it for a second but he remained silent. We stood in the hallway for several seconds, not saying anything but observing each other as whoops of laughter came from the other room.

Nicholas closed his eyes before leaning against the wall for a quick moment. He was about to speak when I interupted him. "Nicholas?" I blurted out loudly.

He froze but opened his eyes and nodded warily. I exhaled slowly, stalling for time, and wiped my clammy hands against my jeans.

"Back in the hospital. When I- when I told you my name is Lucky and you were laughing. I just wanted to know what the story behind it was, you know? It's been bugging me, you know, NOT knowing." My words were spilling over each other as I spewed out nonsense.

Nicholas nodded again and then he sat on the thick, carpeted floor patting the area next to him. I plopped down a foot away and waited patiently.

"Okay I'm going to start from the beginning so feel free to interupt with any questions." he asserted before starting.

"So, you and Sol became best friends in the first grade- blah blah. She'll probably want to tell you that one herself. Anyway...uh where do I start? I'm a bad story teller but here goes: I distinctly remember my mom saying that ever since you began grade school kids would make fun of you because your name was Lucky Moon Hamilton. Nothing too bad but this one time some kid asked if you were related to the Lucky Charms leprechaun and then through elementry you decided to change your name to Lucy."

Nicholas paused and then continued, "Anyway, after awhile everyone knew you as Lucy but I loved your name. So as we got a little bit older we started fighting, arguing, and just pretty much annoying eachother non-stop. Every single time you'd annoy me I'd call you Lucky and eventually you started calling me Nicky to annoy me. Hey! I almost forgot to tell you! You've broken my nose so many times we've lost count."

"Oh my god, I did what!? We really didn't like eachother?" I was stunned and I even started laughing because of the craziness of it all.

"Believe it." he laughed. "There's even these family jokes about how you've got a mean right-hook and how your first sentence was 'Nicky's bugging me'."

"Wow. I wouldv'e never guessed. I mean, you're being so nice to me. Hell, you even tried to make me some fudge pancakes."

"Well it's not like I'm going to act like a douche...give it a few days." He winked at me and I started to laugh again.

"Nicholas?" I asked after our laughs died down.

"Yeah, Lucky?"

"Do you think I'll end up remembering all of this stuff soon?"

Nicholas sat up straight and turned to face me swiftly. "I think so. Why are you asking?"

"Because none of this is ringing any bells and it's wierd having a life you don't even know about but worst of all...I know it's all in there somewhere. I can't explain it. It's like when a word is on the tip of your tongue and you want to say it...but you can't."

"Lucy promise me something? Promise me that if you remember anything you'll tell me. I don't care if it seems like the most insignificant thing in the world, you don't have to be alone in this, alright? Pinky promise you'll tell me, okay?" Nicholas' expression was serious as I wrapped my pinky around his.

"I promise." I assured him. It felt good knowing he cared. That all of them did. I was already growing very fond of the Drakes and it had only been a little over 24 hours since we were introduced.

We both agreed it was time to join the others and started making our way back to the living room when I stopped and told him to go ahead. He didn't ask any questions.

"If you get lost just give me a call and I'll find you." he said. I was grateful he gave me some time to gather myself before returning.

I went to the restroom and stared at my reflection for awhile before splashing some water onto my face. I could feel headache coming on and I rubbed my temples.

"My name is Lucy. Lucy. Luuuucy." The words were strange on my lips and I shook my head at myself. "Lucy is an idiot."

With that, I returned to the living room and everyone was obviously trying to make me feel normal by not staring or remarking on my huge absence. The Drake's were conversing amongst themselves as I neared Nicholas and tapped his shoulder.

"I'm getting a pretty bad headache do you guys have some aspirin or anything?" I tried speaking quietly. The last thing I wanted to do was worry anyone by bringing up a small headache.

"Sure. Come on." he said and continued to lead me towards the kitchen. He opened up a cabinet and after carefully reading labels, handed me a two, white pills. "That should do it. Are you feeling okay?"

"Yeah I'll be okay. Thanks a lot, Nicholas." I said earnestly.

He blinked at me for a long moment. I made my way out of the kitchen and choked down my pills while we said nothing.

I frowned at him, "What?"

"That's the first time you've said those words without any sarcasm." Nicholas smirked.

I rolled my eyes and then turned to face everyone but mainly Helena and Liam. "I know it's early and all but do you think I could lay down and sleep somewhere? I have this headache and I'm just really tired."

Liam sat up quickly. "Lucky say no more. You actually have a bedroom here so next time you don't have to ask. Nicholas, go ahead and take her there. Goodnight, sweetheart!"

After a chorus of goodnights, (even though it was barely noon) I followed Nicholas and Solange up the stairs and into my so-called room.

"I'm just down the hall if you need anything, Lucky. Oh! The door to the left is our bathroom. You can't miss it; it has a Ryan Gosling poster on the outside!"

"Alright, thanks Sol." I replied as she visibly lit up at the nickname. Her expression flickered between worry and happiness before she pretty much dragged Nicholas out. I sighed and all but leapt under the covers.

My headache was still present as I drifted into nothingness. Before sleep fully consumed me, there was a knock at the door.

"Hmm?" I managed in my unconscious state.

"Sweet dreams, kiddo" Nicholas' voice was muffled behind the door.

I was finally pulled under the lazy state of sleep.

Thanks for reading! I apologize for the wait but I have never edited a chapter as much as this one. I wasn't happy with any of my early ideas until I recently figured it out. So now that I'm finally happy with the end product I'm posting a bit late. AND it doesn't help that I just started school again :( ANYWHOO, please review the story and leave me some comments to read and respond to. Thanks again, Ciao!

P.S. I apologize for any grammatical errors or whatnot because of so much editing I might have messed the chapter up without realizing it. Ok, I'm done and I'm going to post now because I'm exhausted of staring at a screen :p
