CHAPTER NINE

"And what is this exactly?" Robin asked frowning, peeking through a green, striped rectangular box that he found laying around their breakfast counter.

"That's mine!" Cyborg almost shouted, snatching the box out of Robin's hands and holding in tightly.

Raven and Starfire watched in confusion, as their quiet munching had been interrupted by Cyborg's sudden burst.

"Yours?!" Robin asked, even more puzzled than before.

"Y-Yeah, I must have forgotten it here yesterday…" Cyborg replied, catching Raven's attention at the mention of 'yesterday'.

"What were you doing with two pink cupcakes with little heart designs on them?!" Robin asked and Raven swallowed dryly. This could be bad, she thought.

"What," Cyborg defended quickly, "can't I try their new strawberry cupcakes? Hearts were the only designs they had, man!"

"Yeah…" Robin said, squinting his eyes. "You went out yesterday, and bought two hot pink cupcakes-"

"Hey, what's wrong with hot pink?" Beast Boy said, offended.

"There's nothing wr-"

"Then why do you say it like it's bad for someone to buy something pink?!"

Robin sighed. "It's not what I meant, sorry!"

"Whatever…" Beast Boy mumbled, caressing his uniform protectively.

"I got a case of the munchies, Rob!" Cyborg said, grinning widely. "I craved some strawberry cupcakes, what's wrong with that?"

"And why did you leave them here, then?"

"I, um, I… came up to get some soda and then I remembered somethin' I needed to check at the lab and I guess I forgot them after that." Cyborg said, feeling blessed that he could come up with a believable excuse.

"Uh-uh…" Robin said suspiciously again, deciding to drop the subject there.

When their breakfast was over and time for practice to commence, Raven, as usual, headed back to her room for some private magic training. Yet, she could find nothing interesting enough to keep her fancy for more than a minute, and so she remembered that it was Cyborg's and Beast Boy's practice day today. The decision to watch their round came effortlessly and so she flew to the monitoring room, joining Robin.

"Came to watch?" He asked, pressing the speaker button. Raven nodded. "Titans, take your positions." He said to the microphone, his voice sounding loud and clear at the training space. The boys moved to their positions and Raven approached the glass, taking a seat at a black stool by the monitoring window. Robin pressed a button and some laser guns emerged from the walls, shooting the Titans.

"So… I guess I should tell you that"-Robin chuckled a bit and sat on his chair-"Starfire and I are officially back together now."

Raven half-smiled. "What a surprise." She said ironically. "No one would ever expect it."

"Yeah, I suppose it was kind of…natural."

Raven nodded again and turned her focus on the round. Beast Boy was changing forms quickly enough to confuse even her, and jumping around avoiding laser beams. Her gaze switched over to Cyborg, firing beams back at the laser towers. Something tensed up in her stomach and she let a barely-audible sigh escape.

If she had to feel something, that should have been…happiness or content, at least. Last night had been one of the best she had ever had and knowing that her feelings didn't have to be unrequited would save her many nights of restless sleep and pondering. However, she had mixed emotions; some fear, some excitement, some intrigue and some… guilt, for a reason she knew all too well, but didn't really want to think of. It tired her.

"You're not going to give him another shot, are you?" Robin asked at some point, obviously meaning Beast Boy.

"No." Raven declared decisively.

"I see. Can I ask why? I'm just curious and you seem quite troubled, Rae."

"I don't have erotic feelings for him anymore." Raven said simply. "It would be a torture, giving him another go, for the both of us."

"Yes, you're right. Glad we got that clear."

"Why do you ask?"

"No particular reason."

"Don't mess with me, Robin." Raven said, giving him a piercing look. She could tell he wasn't just curious about her intentions just for the sake of chatter.

"Alright, alright, don't bite! Beast Boy still wants that second shot, you know."

"You don't say…" Raven said, rolling her eyes.

"No, I mean, he is going to ask you out and stuff. He isn't just thinking about it. He is trying to find a fancy restaurant to take you to."

"What?"

Robin shrugged. "That's what he's told me, at least."

"Oh, boy…"

"So, are you sure you don't want-"

"Yes, Robin, I'm very sure."

"Okay then… I'll try to talk him out of it."

"Thanks." Raven said, turning her gaze back to the training round. Cyborg and Beast Boy were sweating from the effort to keep the incoming drones away from an artifact they were supposed to protect as the exercise commanded. Cyborg had a fierce expression on his face, holding his ground strongly. She ever-so-lightly grinned to herself as she thought he was looking, well, quite handsome, but frowned deeply when her eyes caught the sight of the agile Beast Boy running around.

"I just don't want to see you troubled about this situation." Robin said, having approached her and placing his hand on her shoulder.

"I'm not troubled about that." Raven replied, standing up, just as the round was over.

Cyborg and Beast Boy turned to look at the monitoring room. Robin gave them a 'thumbs up' but Cyborg's eyes were pinned on Raven, as a cartoon-ish, blushing grin spread across his face. Beast Boy waved slowly to the both of them and Raven simply gave them a nod, having her look focused on Cyborg as well.

"I'm off." Raven said, turning swiftly around and storming out. Robin frowned and turned to look at her leaving. He thought he had seen something but… no. He decided to shrug that thought for the moment, shaking his head.

OOO—OOO-OOO-OOO-OOO

Cyborg had taken a shower, had put on his new perfume and had found a chocolate he had been saving for special occasions, deciding it'd be appropriate to bring it with him. As it was a couple of hours past midday, the time of the Titans' 'siesta', he knew no one would be found in the corridors. Indeed, without bumping into anyone, he reached Raven's door and knocked. A few seconds later, the door slid just some inches open, revealing the half of Raven's face.

"What are you doing here?" She asked, hints of wariness decorating her usually monotonous voice.

"Waitin' for you to open up, witchy."

"Cyborg, some-"

"They're all probably sleepin', Rae! Now open up. I brought treats."

With a small sigh of defeat, Raven stepped away and Cyborg came inside, as the door shut behind him once again. Cyborg inhaled deeply, once inside, the scent of vanilla candles and old books that was directly connected to Raven in his head.

He placed the chocolate bar at a small mahogany table by the door's side and snatched Raven in his arms, taking her hood off her head. He pecked her lips playfully and let her go.

"What were you doin' at the practice today?" He asked, grabbing the chocolate again.

Raven shrugged, walking to her bed. "Just wanted to watch, I suppose."

"Seen anything…interesting?" He took a seat by her side and tore the paper wrapping off.

"You." Raven said smugly and Cyborg snorted, cutting a small piece of the cocoa bar.

"Here." He said, approaching the piece to her mouth. Raven opened up and tasted the chocolate. Her eyes widened; it was one of the tastiest things she had ever tried. She tried to say something, but mumbled something incomprehensible and Cyborg laughed. "Knew you'd like this!" Raven snatched the candy bar from her hand and took a generous bite. "Hey!" Cyborg exclaimed. "That's not fair! Gimme some."

A devilish grin spread on the sorceress' face, as the chocolate turned black and started floating around the room at her command. "Go take some." Cyborg half-smiled, getting up. He thought he could get the bar easily, but it seemed that Raven wasn't too willing to give it to him like that.

Somewhere along its chase, Cyborg realized that he could be doing something much more enjoyable and leave the chocolate for later. So, just like that, he lunged on the large bed and climbed on top of her, claiming her hands and her mouth. He heard the chocolate bar fall on something-he guessed a pillow, from the sound- and went on with kissing her exposed neck and collarbone.

About an hour later…

Cyborg exited the dark bedroom, smiling goofily to himself. He wiped his cheek to get some chocolate residue off and turned to the right, moving to the kitchen.

Robin had just managed to duck behind the corridor's curve before Cyborg came out of Raven's chamber. He peeked carefully and saw him grin and getting something off his cheek. He withdrew, hearing Cyborg's heavy steps move away. So it hadn't been his imagination back then, after all. He chuckled and then burst into a muffled laughter, turning back where he came from.

OOO-OOO-OOO-OOO-OOO

All of the Titans cursed when they were woken up by the sounds of the alarms. Raven was particularly energetic, however, not being able to pinpoint why, though. After Robin gave them a heads-up on the situation and the Titans went to ready themselves, she approached Robin.

"Can I try something new today?"

Robin gave her a good look. "Of course, Raven. You can do what you want."

Raven nodded. "I'll tell how we're going to play this on the battlefield."

"Okay…"

Raven turned to leave, but Robin called after her. "What is it?" She asked.

"When I said you can do what you want, I meant it in general…" Raven answered with an enigmatic look of confusion. "Yes, Raven. And we, your friends, will be there to support you… In anything."

"What do-"

Robin interrupted her with a short snort. "Go get ready, we'll chat afterwards."

Raven would be lying if she said she didn't, at that moment, feel like she was sitting on an active volcano.

*Short but wanted to get started with Robin in his part in their story. A little bit of CyRae moment there, hoped you liked it. Next chapter will have a looooot of dialogues. It's time to get things in line, no?

Again, sorry for this being short, I do not have the time to write the rest of it now. Please, tell me how you found it. Thanks for reading!*
