Where Do We Go From Here

A/N: Alright, I'm starting to get back into the groove of things, but there's going to be some MAJOR things coming up in the next few chapters. I really hope that you've enjoyed the story so far. ( only like, 4 favs, and 2 comments) thanks a lot, you lying bastards. Hope you enjoy.
Chapter 10: Demons
"Come oon! We're almost there!" Jess' playful plead for us to get moving woke me from my vision. I couldn't help but have to relive that moment in my life where it seemed I had no control. It's scary to think that you have no control over your own body. I had almost killed my friends, and all to what I have become.
"Trevor! Stop!" The tire iron stopped mid-swing. I felt myself being slammed back into my body. After we left town we headed into the woods in a more direct route towards Colorado. About a mile in, we got jumped by more infected. Once again I lost myself, and I bathed in their life blood, and all I wanted was more. The last few clickers went down with no hassle, and I turned to my friends. Slowly, I walked towards them, and slowly raised the gore stained tire iron.
This is who I am… and what there is to come.

"Oh God… what happened?" I woke on the ground of our make-shift camp. James was on watch, and the Girls were asleep in the tent. Or, that's what it looks like at least. We found it at this very campsite outside Denver. The woods seemed to be the only place left untouched by the world. The tent wasn't so bad. There was room for only two, but that would have to do for now.
I shivered against the creeping cold that wafted through the autumn scenery around us, the only thing that would have tipped you off from how the world really is, was the small mounds that marked the graves of the original owners of the minivan and tent at the campsite.
"Well, what happened was that you went on another blind rage, almost killed me and Jess, and sent James flying into a tree. So, what should we have for breakfast if everything is so fine and dandy?"
"Well, there won't be breakfast today. We're all out of food." Great, just what we need to keep spirits up. An empty stomach is no way to lighten the mood.
"Either way, we need to find some food." James stands up from where he sat just outside the dyeing coals of the fire. I can obviously tell he's still sour from yesterday. I really can't blame him, he broke two ribs. We packed up the tent, and shoved on towards town. Being this close to Denver, we'll be lucky to find anything. Let alone more infected.
We'd searched for 2 hours, and all we found were three cans of fried apples from the minivan at camp, and some alcohol from the liquor store. As we walked back onto I-80, I heard a small rustling coming from where Rebecca walked along. She was rummaging around for something, and a few moments later, she found it.
"Hey, guys… Why aren't dogs good dancers… because they have two left feet!" No one could resist the small chuckle that came to everyone's' lips.
"Where the hell did you find that?" Jess' squeal of delight pierces the still, dusk air. Where did she find that thing? All I know, is that was a great way to get everyone moving. We pushed on with the sun to our backs, and as the sun set in the horizon, I could tell that there was a light at the end of the tunnel.
Sorry this chapter is so short. I really wanted to skip ahead a few weeks, but I'm not promising anything. I really hope that you can bear with me, and wait for the next chapter.
