Dewitt had the letter examined by the security team to make sure it didn't have any toxic chemicals on it. When she opened the envelope a picture of a little black girl with sandy brown hair and brown eyes making a sand castle at the beach fell out. Paul Ballard picked the picture off the floor and wondered why the little girl's smile seemed so familiar. Boyd saw the picture fall also and asked Dewitt if she knew who the little girl in the picture was. Dewitt didn't answer him she just started reading the letter silently to herself.
As Dewitt read the letter the look on her face turned from one of confidence to anger as she threw the letter down on the table and demanded that Boyd do more to try to find Alpha and prevent him from doing more damage. Paul asked her what Alpha had said in the letter to get under her skin like that and what was the importance of sending the picture of the little girl? Dewitt avoided answering the question by asking that Topher come in the office and scan the DVD to make sure that it didn't contain a virus.
Boyd stood directly in front of Adelle so she couldn't ignore him anymore. Boyd said, "With all due respect ma'am the little girl in the picture could be in danger so if you know who she, please just tell us so we can understand why Alpha would be using her and save her." Dewitt looked at them both in the eye when she stated, "You can't save her. She is already dead."
