~(Back with Phil and Techno)~
The sun was just beginning to come up when Techno woke up.
He yawned and gave a bit of a stretch before looking around. Night rider was eating grass, and all of Phil's supplies were still there, which was good. He also had a massive crow wrapped around him. Techno smiled and stroked the feathers on Phil's head. He was gonna fix this and get his dad back then never let Phil go ANYWHERE alone ever again. Phil gave a small happy chirp at his pets. Techno tried to get up but Phil pulled him back down demanding more head scratches.
We've got to go Phil. Techno argued.
Phil gave some angry squawks but eventually let Techno up. Techno pulled out a map from his bag and figured out they weren't far from their first camp. He started planning the quickest route home. Phil hopped as close as he could to see what Techno was doing and saw him drawing.
Phil was a bit irritated. He stopped paying attention to him just to draw but decided to be patient.
Alright, this is the fastest route with a giant crow following. Techno muttered with a frown.
This route would be almost 3 days longer and it wasn't even completely safe. Phil suddenly pulled Techno's crown off and pulled it close.
Phil. Techno said, hiding a smile.
Give it back Phil or I take it back. Techno warned.
Phil waved it around with a smug look. Techno rolled his eyes and tried to snatch it back only for Phil to wave it above his head.
You're being rude Phil. Techno said with a small smile.
Techno jumped up and grabbed it but Phil had a plan. Phil flipped Techno over his head and dropped Techno and the crown on his back. Techno plopped down on his back and put his crown on. Techno held onto the feathers on Phil's neck out of instinct.
Phil. What are you doing? Techno asked seriously.
Phil unfurled his wings.
Phil no. Techno said holding on tighter.
Dad. Dad, Dad no! DADDDDDDDD. Techno screamed as Phil shot into the sky.
It wasn't hard at all for Phil to carry Techno but the yanking on his feathers was a bit annoying. Phil flew above the clouds but quickly pivoted back to the ground as the pain in his wing kicked in. He landed/crashed back on the ground with a painful chirp. Techno slid off carefully and examined the wing. The hole had mostly healed by whatever alternative power Phil had gained but Phil's little stunt had caused it to start bleeding. Techno grabbed some bandages and healing potions he'd brought just in case and started treating Phil's injury. He finally finished wrapping it up and making sure it wasn't too tight. Phil gave a few experimental flaps before giving a happy caw.
Do you think you can fly now? Techno asked he didn't want to push it but they needed to get out of here it would only be so long before more hunters showed up, plus the bodies were already starting to smell.
Phil flew up and did a few swoops before coming back down with another happy chirp. Techno felt relieved, they didn't have time to wait around. Techno untied night rider, who'd been happily been munching on grass the whole time, and swiftly mounted.
Alright, Phil here's the tricky part, I need you to fly as high as you can and follow me. Techno told him.
Phil nodded but he was curious about where they were going.
Let's hit the road. Techno said as he guided night rider and Phil to an old beat-down road.
