Chapter 1
Washington D.C.
July 4, 14:27 EDT
An unmarked Blackhawk helicopter travels to the site of Wotan's latest ritual with enough speed to avoid detection. That action would have been deemed unnecessary since they got word that the Justice League were intercepting Wotan, but the pilots and their passengers had an agenda not aligned with the League whatsoever.
Nearly all individuals within the helicopter seem to be geared for night raids since they are wearing military-graded gear to be unrecognized. Yet, the remaining two passengers are the most interesting to say the least.
It's very obvious that one of the two unique individuals is a male due to the fact his body is more buff than the soldiers present. He stands about 6'2 tall with his features and age completely hidden by his own choice of gear. His gear seems to consist of a gray and red long-sleeved shirt, gray cargo pants, and red/yellow boots with circular shoulder guard, red glowing visored/two horned mask and gloves that look more like talons. The shirt greatly showcases his upper body mass while the leg's portions are more exaggerated than actual measures.
While his outfit is the epitome of the modern day, the outfit of the other unique individuals bridging the gap between ancient warriors and modern warfare. Like the male individual, features and age is also hidden by her battle gear save for her slender figure exposing her gender. The baseline of her gear consists of silver Amazonium bodice with the chest emblem of an eagle with wings resembling "W," connected by Amazonium skirt, a set of matching boots that resembles talons, and adjustable greaves. She also wears the same gloves as the Herculean passenger while her helmet in the likeness of the eagle and goggles that give her eyes looks eerie green. On a closer look, the helmet that completely hides her face emblazons her golden belt. The most important detail of her battle gear are the gigantic metallic wings, which would allow her to fly-by the helicopter if the handler wanted her to ride along in the helicopter.
No words were exchanged as the ex-military personnel were actually sweating underneath their masks while the two individuals felt a bit excited about getting out of the facility. After all, today was the day they will be unleashed to do their duty.
Their thoughts were interrupted as their handler approached and says, "The eye in the sky saw the island bottled up except for two entry points. The Justice League will be split into two teams and we believe placing you, two, at the beach where the target will come to you and you might kill her at all cost. Understand?"
Both only nodded their heads in agreement as the male stood up as his steps rumbled the helicopter more than the turbulence should hinder him. He opened the door without ripping the door like they show him. His view was taken in the secluded beach as it was breathtaking, so serene, and so peaceful. It should be a shame that it shall be a battlefield, but the battle against her is all worth that destruction. After all, peace must be earned and that can be achieved by one thing.
His thoughts were interrupted as he got the sight of something or someone emerging from the water. Even though his senses were sharper than the average person, he knows that there's one person in the Justice League that has that type of ability shown in his sight.
His arrival was also a signal for him to jump off the helicopter and jump. He came crashing down on the beach as his impact generated a cloud of sand. Before he could take his first step, the cloud cleared away as the hero known as Red Tornado created miniature tornados to do the deed. The deed also exposed him to the eyes of the present leaguers.
He scanned the small team to search for the target as he already knew the Aquaman and Red Tornado present. But, he still wanted to know who's else in order to know how to beat them before killing her. Hawkman is here as well as Hawkwoman leaving the last one to be…
His blood boils at his study of the woman they were sent to kill for remembering what they told him everything about her and the so-called Justice League. Wearing a strapless red bustier held up by a brace of gold resembling two W's. A large golden belt and blue briefs with five white stars on them. Red boots with a white stripe on the front side. The black-hair, blue-eyed woman wears her ironic silver bracelets around her wrists, red star earrings, and wears a golden diadem with a red star on her forehead. A golden lasso that hangs from her belt and everything that identifies her as the target… the Wonder Woman.
He took his steps toward the group with his fists closed so shut and violently that the present leaguers can easily see that he's going to fight them. Hawkman was the first to make his move against the opponent. He came in fast with the help of his wings with the intent of bashing the skull with his raised mace.
In response, the opponent caught the mace and a strap of his armor as he took advantage of the Hawkman's charging momentum. Hawkman was sent into the tree line as he broke several trees in his fall.
"Hawkman!"
It was then that they decided to take this threat seriously. All of them rushed him, with the intent of overpowering him. Yet, they are the ones at the disadvantage as the facility reveals to him how the Justice Leaguers fight as well as the other awaits in the "shadows."
Like her counterpart, Hawkwoman was the "first" to reach him with her mace ready to strike him. However, he saw this coming as he launched a punch at her as Hawkwoman switched from about to strike him to blocking his punch with her mace. Blocking his punch minimized the damage as she was sent skidding back.
As soon as he sent Hawkwoman back, Wonder Woman threw her lasso at him as the lasso wrapped around his neck. He became aware of the lasso as it shone in the sun's light as he grabbed ahold of the lasso as well. Before he could do anything at all, Wonder Woman begins to pull him toward her.
It was the feat of her strength that he would have kept his feet planted to the ground. He started to get angry as Wonder Woman was dragging him toward her as she pulled hand over hand with almost little effort. His blood boiled as he refused to be weaker than her. HE WAS POSE TO BE…
When he got closer to her, she started to speak, "Speak your name and the reason for your attack! The lasso compels you to tell the truth!"
The Lasso of Truth came to life in a flash of gold as it started to radiate heat so hot as means of forcing the truth out of him. Although he and those like him are completely capable of speech, they haven't uttered a single word since their birth. Well, that changes as the abnormally tall teenager utters his words for the first time, "No… No… NO ONE… CONTROLS ME, SCORN. I WILL… DESTROY… YOU!"
With that, he let the blood of his Father take over bit by bit as he stomp hard into the ground to slowly stop Wonder Woman from pulling him.
"Aquaman! Red Tornado!" The moment she felt Scorn never longed to be pulled was the moment she called for assistance from the King of Atlantis and the machine. Wonder Woman jumped allowing Aquaman to surprise kick Scorn's sternum.
That surprise caused Scorn to take a step back, allowing the lasso to escape Scorn's grip as it slipped back towards the awaiting grasp of its owner. Before Scorn could redirect his sight toward Wonder Woman, Red Tornado created a blast of wind to send Scorn into the tree line. When he landed, he was greeted with the sight of Aquaman clasping his fits together for a heavy blow to Scorn's temple. Scorn slapped Aquaman away like an abusive man slapped his child. Scorn gets back up as he sees his slap send Aquaman back a few feet.
Aquaman spoke, "You are outmatched! Surrender and we will be lenient towards your transgressions!"
"I… WIll… Gutted you…"
While Scorn focused on what he could see, his back was vulernade for attack as Hawkwoman emerged with her mace ready to hit him in the back. Before she could land a hit, something and something big suddenly grabbed hold of her wing and dragged her away from Scorn. Before Hawkwoman could do anything, whoever was dragging her from her wing spinned around and tossed her toward Aquaman. Before she could right herself, the new challenger unleashed a sonic scream, making distracted long enough for her to crash into Aquaman.
Not missing the opening she had created for him, Scorn launched himself into the air with his fists ready to crush Hawkwoman and Aquaman into bloody paste. Yet, Wonder Woman interferes as she latches her golden lasso onto the Scorn's hips and pulls him on the lasso with all of her might. Scorn would have crashed back down into the beach below were it not the winged newcomer grabbed him and settled him back down gently.
Scorn directed his sight into Wonder Woman's eyes full of such intensity befitting a warrior, "Me, Scorn… now sees… why they told us… you must be destroyed… first before Kryptonian. You have… no weakness… You are True Warrior!"
Scorn's words gave them pause as all started to slowly encircle Scorn and the newcomer whose wings hides her armor and seemingly protects Scorn as he slowly stands tall.
Wonder Woman asked the question that was on everyone's mind, "Who is this 'they' you speak of? Is it the sorcerers behind this plot?"
"Me won't… tell you… nothing. You won't… be alive… any longer… to ask… stupid questions," Scorn said he brush aside his partner's wing allowing Wonder Woman to take a very good look on her as her eyes widen in surprise and shock.
Her shock increased as Scorn lowered himself into a very familiar stance, "Hera…"
"She's… no Hera… She's… Sil…Silver Sw… Ah, forget it. We TEAR WONDER WOMAN APART! NOW!" With that, Scorn propelled herself forward using his rar foot for momentum toward Wonder Woman as the Silver jumped into the sky with her wing and boosted her momentum with her morning star.
Scorn was blocked by Aquaman while Silver was intercepting with the Hawks.
"You should learn to respect your betters, boy!" He caught my punch and quickly kneed him in the stomach, "You've brought this upon yourself! It is time you reaped what you have sown!"
He went in for another one, but Scorn caught his knee with his hand and applied enough pressure that he flinched, giving him an opening Scorn can't ignore, "No… you reaped… what you sown."
Scorn grabbed the collar of his suit and used his strength to lift Aquaman and hurled him toward Hawkman who was trying to strike his partner. She saw Scorn throw Aquaman and make a retreat from Hawkman to go against Hawkwoman. Aquaman collided with Hawkman and both flew back to the ground. The force in the throw and the crash seemingly knockout the two as they seem unmoving.
Before he continues his charge towards Wonder Woman, a powerful gust of wind sends an unprepared Scorn careening into a nearby tree. Red Tornado intercepts Scorn as he starts his attack to distract Scorn.
While Red Tornado contained Scorn, Sliver, who was besting Hawkwoman in an aeriel fight, saw Wonder Woman heading towards her. With that, Sliver dodged Hawkwoman at the last minute and took her wing and spin tossed her away to focus her attention onto the target.
She didn't have time to unleash a sonic scream as the Amazon closed her distance to her. Silver's first instinct was using her weapon at the Amazon Princess, but Wonder Woman sees that from a mile away. She grabbed hold the hand holding the morning star as Sliver attempted to use the other hand to swipe the heroine's face. Yet, the Amazon caught that hand as well with ease thanks to her fights with the Cheetah.
"Where have you gotten the armor you are wearing?" Wonder Woman demanded that she knew that no one else other than herself, her mother, and her sister are the only Amazons left on the Island in recent decades. Seeing this one wearing the Amazon ceremonial battle armor has placed questions in Wonder Woman's mind and questions that needed to be answered.
Instead of an answer, Silver headbutted Wonder Woman with enough force to release her, but not enough force to stun Wonder Woman. The heroine practically disarmed Silver with a spinning punch to the sides. Sliver grunted in pain as she repeated the same fashion with her wing to generate some space between them.
Silver tried the same tricks again to force Wonder Woman to take the defensive long enough to use her sonic scream at point range. Her clawed gloves managed to slice her cheek as Wonder Woman slipped past her. From the moment Wonder Woman escapes her sight, she delivers a leg strike to prevent the heroine from attacking her exposed back.
The moment came as she was about to unleash a sonic scream at her opponent, but she forgot one important thing: Wonder Woman isn't alone in the fight. Just when Silver was about to complete her purpose in life, Hawkwoman came into the picture as she flew in from above and slammed her mace into Silver's face HARD. The force of the blow against an unsuspecting Sliver didn't just knock her helmet out, but knock her out.
It would have seemed Sliver would have crashed into the ground a lot harder than Scorn's arrival, but that doesn't seem to be the case. As Silver's unconscious body falls, Wonder Woman prevents that as she holds Silver in bridal style. As Wonder Woman descends to the ground, she gets a full view of Sliver's face as the day keeps providing her surprises.
The identity of Silver is a girl, a young girl that can be between the ages 14 and 16 with slightly pale skin and neck-length wavy hair. Wonder Woman recognizes her or to be more precise, recognizes her looks. She has seen those looks on her mother, some resembles on her sister, and herself. By all accounts, Sliver could easily pass-off as the daughter of…
Wonder Woman's line of thought was cut-off as Hawkwoman flew by her and headed toward where the other was located. She settled Sliver down as gently as she could after checking her pulse and making sure she's knockout. Her questions can wait at a later point for she has a battle to win.
By this point, Red Tornado's winds generate a sand storm blinding Scorn's view of his enemies.
"Hard… to see! Can't get close to hitting him."
It was then Scorn felt something metal impact his jaw. Judging on the glimpse of a shadow, he would have said that Hawkwoman struck him. Scorn started to hate his enemies striking him down while he tried to get up. He tried to hit her, but she already disappeared back into the sand storm.
"COW.." Scorn tried to say before came barreling out of the storm this time, her lasso wrapped around her hands. Scorn thought she would go for a frontal attack, but instead she flipped over him, allowing her lasso to meet my neck.
From the moment that happened, Wonder Woman knelt down and used her current position to start choking Scorn. He started to reach around wildly and violently at both the lasso and the air. Scorn's vision started to swim and everything was slowly getting covered in black.
'Hard… to think. Hard… to fight back. Must… Must find a way. Must not fail. Must not fail. Must not fail. Must not fail! MUST not FAIL! MUST NOT FAIL!' Wonder Woman started to crouch lower, increasing the effectiveness of her technique.
"I… I FREE MYSELF!" With that, Scorn shot straight up into the air as his path only being guided by both his rage, determination, and the fear of failing. Wonder Woman wasn't expecting it, and it showed when her grip loosened a bit. It was just enough to allow Scorn to turn around and grab her by her arm.
"USELESS!" Scorn threw her back down the beach as hard as he could, not caring if she recovered or not. For he realized that he must rob Wonder Woman's advantages to win: her allies and her… lasso. He removed the lasso on his neck and held within his hands distracting him, finding out that he's airborne. It was until a gust of wind knocked him off balance as Scorn quickly turned around to see Tornado charging towards himself. Gusts of red wind moving to flak him on his right and his left.
"MACHINE!" Scorn flew towards him, faster than any of his attempts to catch me. Tornado tried to attack with more gusts of winds but Scorn blasted them as if he was shot through a cannon. From what he remembers about Red Tornado, the machine dealt his enemies from distance so getting up close and personal was the best course of defeating it. Upon reaching it, Scorn shoved his fist through his chest.
"You're bothering me," Scorn said as the winds beneath it began to fade until it was just dangling by his arm signaling Scorn that the machine was shut down. He retracted his arm back from the machine, allowing Red Tornado to fall down to the beach.
"Tornado!" A rage filled cry demanding justice, Hawkman came flying from the tree line, his mace once again ready to strike. "I'll have your head, child!" He screamed as he flew in closer.
Felting the lasso in his hands, Scorn got an idea and began to rocket down with gravity helping him out. Hawkman was about to have his war mace smashed by Scorn, but it turns out Scorn faked his approach. As a result, Hawkman missed Scorn by a few meters to his right allowing Scorn to fall right past him.
Before confusion set in, Hawkman felt something wrapped around his wing as Scorn used Wonder Woman's lasso to whirl Hawkman around and throw him back where he came from. The throwback would have injured Hawkman greatly weren't it not Hawkwoman saved him at the last minute.
Scorn was so focused on disabling Hawkman that he didn't have time enough to make a proper landing as he crashed to the beach. He stayed down for a moment as he waited long enough to recover into fighting shape. After all, the blood that flows through Scorn allows him to heal faster than most humans. He moved to get back up, but a red heeled boot placed itself on his chest, pinning me towards the ground.
He looked to see that it was Wonder Woman as others started to circle around us. Wonder Woman demands while she retrieves her lasso, "Surrender now, child! You and your friend will be treated fairly and given medical treatment after we deal with Wotan. Continue these hostilities and you'll only have yourself to blame."
"Surrender?" Scorn asked like he tasted something bad in his mouth, "NEVER! NEVER GIVE UP!"
With that, Scorn grabbed her leg and threw her off of him. Surrender she says! As Scorn is a warrior, death would have been more welcoming than surrender to her, much less than the Justice League.
The others started to close in as Scorn responded by punching the ground repeatedly causing a small-scale earthquake. They weren't prepared for the attack and leaped back, opting to just regroup with Wonder Woman, who had already picked herself up. He stopped seeing them retreat as he got on his feet.
"Hawkwoman, Hawkman, and Aquaman, go rendezvous with Superman and his team." She whipped her lasso against the ground, as a show of what's to come, "I'm more than enough to deal with him."
The other leaguers looked a little apprehensive at being ordered to leave one of their own behind, but they relented quickly enough. Considering she was in charge of their little team, it made sense that they would have such faith in her. They all nodded, offering words of encouragement as they left for the temple.
"Good Wonder Woman, I love stupid enemies," Scorn said before both charged at each other, their speed allowing them to close the gap in between themselves at a breakneck speed. Their fists collide with enough strength to cause miniature shockwaves. Each impact kicked up sand, unleashing powerful gusts of wind strong enough to knock back trees. She was moving with such ferocity it was getting steadily harder to keep up with her movements! She eventually decided to duck underneath one of my strikes, and send a roundhouse kick towards his side. He blocked it easily enough, but the strength behind it brought some warning bells in Scorn's head.
Not to mean that she sent him tumbling. Unknown to himself, Scorn used the ability of flight to write to himself, but the Amazon was on him once more. Scorn could see her face befitting of a warrior, sweaty and determined to win. It was something that he found respect for her despite what they told about her and the Justice League they allied with.
He caught her raised fist and retaliated with one of his, but his fist also was caught. Their hands began to grip each other and the tide of battle changed once more. Their heels dug into the ground as they tried to overpower the other into submission. The sand wasn't providing the proper strength required to hold their might and as such they began to steadily sink.
"More! GIVE IN MORE OF YOUR STRENGTH! SO I, SCORN, PROVE THERE'S NO ONE TOUGHER AND STRONGER THAN ME!" Scorn allowed his excitement to come forth, each sentence bolstering his own resolve to win against him.
Upon hearing that, She slowly started to rise as Scorn started to sink. She was steadily adding more and more strength to her grip and legs, "Foolish child! You think this is a game?! That endangering the people of Earth is nothing more than a whimsical gesture?! Allow me to teach you where your mentors have failed!"
Her anger towards his demeanor and apparent disregard towards people, filled her with even more resolve. Hearing that creates confusion within Scorn and that confusion changes the tide again.
"What?!" he was forced down on one knee, yet she continued to push down.
"Must be… more stronger than me," Scorn quickly raised his eyes to meet her own. The look she gave really connects to what they said about her: the way she was looking at him was like he were some sort of weakling, maybe like an ant to be crushed.
"You know nothing of strength boy! You are nothing more than a tantrum throwing child!" Then her head came rushing towards him. The strength behind it coupled with her tiara made it immensely painful. The blow breaks the upper left side of the helmet exposing part of his face to the outside elements.
"ME, NO CHILD!" He screamed back at her, increasing the strength of his grip, "ME, WARRIOR!"
Then he gave her a headbutt of his own, it created a small shockwave that kicked up a portion of the sand. He was about to let go as he felt his head developing some head pains, but she had a death grip over him.
If she was dazed by my attack she didn't show it, "So you wish to match me in combat, child? So be it! Let's see if you can withstand the might of the Amazons!"
"Do your worst, Ruler of the Amazons!" Scorn yelled as it was clear as day that he was out-done, but something deep inside him stirred. He refused to back down as he must achieve the goal no matter the goal.
"Are they…?"
"... gave an alias."
"...no older than…"
"...fought like you…"
"...curious as well…"
Scorn heard multiple voices when he started to come around. He felt the sand beneath me, so it's possible that he was still on the beach. His mood took a dive as they failed to kill Wonder Woman. Scorn groans and snarls as he struggles to move his limbs for some reason, notifying his captors that he was awake. Eventually, Scorn forced himself to kneel and found both him and Sliver's arms tied behind their backs with the Lasso of Truth, trailed from their backs to Wonder Woman's arms.
Once Sliver sees Scorn get up, she takes his lead as both see the entire League in their presence. They pretty much had an idea of where this was going; Silver showed visually frightened while Scorn made a brave look.
The first of the gathered Justice League they saw a tall, muscular Caucasian male with vivid blue eyes and short black hair with a curl over his forehead He wears a blue uniform with a red-and-yellow "S" shield on his chest, red trunks, a yellow belt, red boots and a red cape. They don't need to be telepaths to know who this individual is, the Superman.
He walked up to the captive duo and knelt down in front of Scorn and placed a comforting hand on my shoulder, "This can either go one or two ways as these choices are up to both of you. You can either cooperate and let us know what we want to know and get a reduced sentence in jail or don't and spend the rest of your childhood in Belle Reve."
Scorn and Silver blinked at the sudden mercy of the Man of Steel showcasing allowing them to see each other. Scorn thought of it as a trick due to the fact that they were fighting dirty with themselves, but the naive Silver nodded her head. For Scorn, he was forced to nod his head because of his defeat and the fact that they would get the truth out of them either way.
Superman gave them a smile and nodded towards the easily recognizable Batman, "My friend here is going to ask you a few questions, then you'll be on your way."
Batman didn't waste any time, "Who are you and what was your mission."
The lasso glows a bright gold tricking Scorn while Sliver nervously groans as it mends her abnormalities in her throat.
"I am Scorn…"
"Cccccaaaaallll… Cal-llll Call me… Silver Swan!"
"We were created by cloning technology to combat the threat of the Metahuman process. The mission that they gave to us till our capture was to destroy Wonder Woman."
All the leaguers looked at each other, their eyes wary at the implications of Scorn and Silver Swan being cloned. Superman himself looked uneasy for some strange reason, a far contrast to what he was earlier.
Batman's eyes narrowed into a glare, "Who is 'they' you speak of and what purpose do they give you?"
"Me, Scorn, don't know who's 'they?'"
"I do not know them either, but our purpose is to combat the Justice League when they stand against humanity." Silver Swan dropped the bomb before Batman could repeat the seemingly unanswered question.
They each took that in. A soft silence covered the beach, though it was Wonder Woman who broke that silence, "That's absurd! They assumed that we would go against the very people we have sworn to protect?! That one of us would fall to the side of the villains?!"
While Silver Swan looks at Wonder Woman in a new light of her statement, the lasso burns once more as Scorn insert left foot in his mouth, "Me, Scorn, don't believe you after what they show us what the Justice League truly are. How could you be protecting the people? You're all killers. They show us that all of you have run rampant since the invasion, doing whatever pleases you. You rule through fear by turning your powers against the populace. That is why Project Lightning Strikes exists."
"What is Project Lightning Strikes?" Batman chooses to focus on the information while the other leagues seem somewhat disturbs of what these cloners lie to Scorn enough to believe it's the truth.
Once again the burning sensation of the lasso came back, Silver Swan says her truth, "It was clear ever since the Justice League first formed that the American government would have no hope of combating them if they ever decided to go dark."
Then, she lowered her eyes to know what was coming up next, "They couldn't search nor trained for any metas to combat all of you due to the Justice League cruel nature against their enemies."
A look of comprehension slowly started to dawn on everyone there, nonetheless Silver Swan must finish what she had to say, "So if they couldn't find anyone willing to fight you, then they resort to creating someone who can instead."
Scorn and Silver Swan looked directly into Wonder Woman's eyes, taking in the whirl of emotions that shone through her widened eyes.
Scorn declares, "Me, Scorn, and Silver Swan were created from Wonder Woman's blood to match, surpass, and eventually replace her as the one True Justice League."
Everything went silent as a majority of eyes went towards Wonder Woman, whose face was frozen in shock and disbelief. She dropped the lasso in her shock as she really stared at Scorn and Silver Swan.
"I don't… quite get it to why they created you… you're a guy…" Flash stated with a raised finger.
Everybody then turned to him and gave him a look, which he immediately responded with, "What?! Don't act like you guys weren't thinking the same thing! There's two of them and one of them is a boy."
"Yeah, but at least have some tact," said one of the two Green Lanterns sighed with a shake of his head, "Sometimes I think you really are too fast for your own good. Learn to read the mood man."
Batman silenced both of them with a look before turning back to me, "So, whoever created you that it was to kill and replace Wonder Woman? I find that unlikely in your case, Scorn. Just as Flash stated, you are a male while the other is a female, the right one to replace Wonder Woman."
"Because Father's blood mixes the blood of the mother and damages it enough so that two are created. Even me, Scorn, and Silver Swan were born as twins, we're not pure enough to be part of Lightning Strikes," Scorn says without a care in the world for he knows that they would surely die for being clone from one of the Justice League's members, "Yet, they do not have enough blood to make a new sister. So, they send us to destroy Wonder Woman or to make her bleed enough, so that they created a prefect clone to replace her and us."
They saw some of the leaguers looked a little put out of Scorn's admission of being disposable and who else have been cloned for this Lightning Strikes.
"You can't possibly be okay with that, can you?" Wonder Woman whispered as she took a few steps forward. The look on her face was one that they couldn't place nor would be able to for they never saw that face on anyone else. After all, they don't know a Justice Leaguer exactly response to being cloned before.
"I, Scorn, not okay with their treatment of me and Sliver, but who else cares about us. We're nothing like you, Wonder Woman," She looked as if someone had physically struck her.
All of the heroes save Batman flinched at Scorn, "Yet, my sister has the chance of seeing her mother, even if we're enemies. Now, we have no more information to spare us… so strike us down like you did to all your enemies."
Then, Scorn lowered his sight by kneeling on the site as if waiting for the Justice League to kill them while Silver Swan, despite shedding her tears, sees her mother's blue orbs filled with pity and another emotion she couldn't place.
Wonder Woman looked at a loss for words, before she gathered herself and asked, "What are your names?"
The lasso glowed allowing Silver Swan to speak for her brother's behalf, "Name? You're Wonder Woman as that's the only name the people know of and care for. The names that we have are what they care for… I'm Silver Swan while my brother is Scorn."
Then, Silver Swan became frightened as she saw Wonder Woman's face hardened once more for fear of what her action was going to be.
"I refuse to accept those names to be the names of my children," She stated much to the shock of everyone there, including the captives as the twins looked at her in a new, confusing light. From the looks of their faces, they were probably expecting her to see them as a violation of her existence.
"Wonder Woman, are you sure about this?" Superman asked, his tone not even hiding his surprise, "What would the Amazons think of this? Even more so, Would he even be allowed to step foot on the island?"
"It matters not Superman," She removed the lasso, freeing Scorn and Silver Swan as she walked towards me, "They are of my blood! They are the closest thing that I will probably ever have to a child."
She knelt between the siblings, "It matters not if you were made to kill me, it matters not that you were not conceived normally…"
She placed a hand on Silver Swan's cheek as her eyes were soft in the sunlight and showing nothing but maternal love to the twins, "You think that no one will care about the two of you because you were shown lies and cruelty. Even if you don't agree with it, You're part of my family and I will show you what they failed to raise you, my daughter and… my son."
For the first time since Scorn and Silver Swan laid eyes on her, her eyes allowed a small amount of weakness to slip through, "That is...if you want me."
Soon after she says that, she wrapped her hands around Scorn and Silver Swan and embraced them in a hug. A hug which Scorn and Silver Swan don't know how to react to this unnatural behavior she is showing, "Both of you don't have to be alone in the world anymore nor to be treated like objects anymore. You are my children."
Hearing those words and the feelings that emerge from her action were enough for the Mighty Scorn to see through the lies they've told him of his mother. It was enough for the twins to slowly copy her actions.
"Mother," Silver Swan says as they end the hug.
"Hmm?"
"If you don't like our names, then what names do you like us to have?"
She put a hand on her cheeks, wiping away her tears, "For you, your name shall be Stephanie Prince while you, my son shall be Hunter Prince from this day forward."
Blood of Diana is inspired by Combatant because I personally thought that the Self-Insert aspect was ruined the moment the character is a clone of the most favorite superheroine in DC.
The names of the characters aren't finalized since I don't know the complete names of all Wonder Woman's children throughout the DC muiltiverse with the characters being different than the characters we used to. What I meant is that the male character is based upon the Grimlock of transformer franchise and his behavior will be like until he learns how to speak like anyone. Instead of making her the silver swan or any other character, the sister just have an ancient amazonian armor that peaked the interest of Wonder Woman.
What did you think about the fight and its aftermath? Mostly because I agree with the Combatant's author that Wonder Woman will help her clone due to her interactions with other children in the comics and movies.
Who are the ones who had "cloned" Wonder Woman? Well, their identity will keep a secret, but they have history with the heroine in question.
1/06/23 update
I hope you have a great Christmas and a good start to the new year as I'm back for the last chapter which is to talk about what I expected from adopting Young Justice: Blood of Diana. Pretty much the same deal with how I structure my expectation as the lucky Author's blueprint.
Like I said, Blood of Diana was mostly inspired by the YJ fanfic Combatant where the main character is a clone of Wonder Woman, the most favorite superheroine of anything that is DC. In my opinion, that fanfic was completely ruined by the clone being a SI who seems to can't keep his mouth straight in a time and a place. As for Wonder Woman, I wonder if any of you are wondering how good she would be if she had a child since she seems to be plainly good with children based on the interaction I've seen in comics and movies. Officially, I haven't written a plot summary of Blood of Diana. With that being said, I will say that the plot leans towards the flow of Young Justice: Target X as the main character(s) tries to find their place in the world.
Although I didn't put a precise roster of the group that cloned Wonder Woman and perhaps some of the Justice League Members (excluding Superman for obvious reasons). Despite that, the majority of the group are enemies of Wonder Woman with few members that hate the other League members. The presented goal was the destruction of the Justice League and replaced with their own version of the League. Basically pulling a Dark Avenger/Thunderbolts route with a hint of Cadmus.
In truth, the present clones are a sort of easter egg to the Death of the Justice League as each of these clones come from members who "died" in that comic. They may have their powers and abilities akin to their "real" counterparts but I was leaning toward modeling them after the Transformers' Dinobots.
Scorn & his twin sister: To the villain team that tried clone the Justice League, Scorn and his Twin Sister (her name as the Silver Swan is completely optional) were posed to be one child but the combined DNA of Wonder Woman and Ares (spoiler Alert/again completely optional of who's the father going to be) caused the child to split into two during their gestation stage. (If the twins are children of Ares as their creation is meant to be a poetic justice for the "murder" of his son Thrax.)
Scorn: Scorn is the Grimlock of this fanfic for he was posed to be leader until his training proved it otherwise. He was highly aggressive towards his enemies or merely anyone who gave him or his sister a dirty look. His highly protective streak of his Sister reveals the lengths he can go to protect her, even threatening to kill anyone who tried to eliminate her. He should have the same powers/abilities as Wonder Woman as he inherited from his father: battle rage and shift shape into a monstrous beast. Since his aging was accelerated, his personality and speech pattern should reflect Grimlock of the 1980s Transformers tv series.
The Sister: When Scorn is the aggressive one, his twin is more like a shy one as her behavior fits more like a little girl trapped in a teenager's body. Since she's a clone, she inherits her mother family's looks and powers/abilities while she inherited sonic scream from her father somehow. Like her mother, she hestiates of making a kill which the villians try to elimate her, but her brother prevent that. Before meeting her mother, the sister was given a modifiying Amazonian armor. (model after Swoop)
Clone of Green Arrow or Black Canary (debatable between naming him or her as Strafe): It's really a coin toss here if the author wanted a clone of Black Canary or Green Arrow. Regardless of Strafe's gender or who they cloned from, the individual was trained by Nyssa al Ghul and her training impacted the clone's personality. Prior to joining their fellow clones, their skills could match that of Cheshire. Since training with the assassin, they have a dark outlook on life as the individual expresses dark humor and "sadistic" behavior (often shrugged off the dangers they are in).
Clone of Batman (debatable whether he will show up or not, but he will be known as Slasher or Slash): This clone is also trained with Nyssa al Ghul which the training rids mostly of the personality that Batman have that keep him from killing. Prior to joining the clones, the clone have an injury that prevent him from speaking which makes him unpredictable to friends and foes. Despite his training, he does have some morals including won't kill any women/girls for some quite strange reason. Unknown the others, he's model after Snake eyes and Storm Shadow combined.
Clone of Martian Manhunter (debatable between naming him as Shifter or Snarl): This clone is a complete mystery to all as it's unknown how Martian Manhunter's clone trained. What is known is that the clone seems to be trained as a spy or information gatherer first then a powerhouse second. Meaning the clone often blended in and read the minds first before transforming into the dangerous animals second for max defense and damage.
Clone of Aquaman (Debatable between naming as Sludge or Slag): Probably second aggressive clone of the team as the Clone of Aquaman doesn't trust surface dwellers at all, even if they're clones like him. Only trusting the people both he and Aquaman belong to and following the old ways of justice have made him aggressive against his enemies, even ones that aren't one in the first place.
Like the other expectation, it is required to start at the first season of Young Justice. Pretty much the same deal as I talk about what I think what changes to canon that can captured people's eyes. Only difference is that when Blood of Diana comes into mind, I think up to the first half of Season 1 as the rest up to the brave author to fill in the rest.
Here's my initial thought of Young Justice Blood of Diana first half of season 1 going to be:
1st episode: Basically the chapter you've read as it's all about the Twins meeting their mother, Wonder Woman and the Justice League.
2nd episode: Wonder Woman spends some time with her children before getting them to Watchtower for Manhunter's mind probing/interrogating, just minutes before the Team takes down Blockbuster.
Given the three day period, Wonder Woman takes her children to her homeland for their heritage. Due to Amazon's wariness of men, the male twin feels challenged and proceeds into giving fist fight while their mother and grandmother talk. Anyway, the chapter after the 2nd episode should be them learning about their heritage.
3rd Episode: The sister remains on Themyscira for a new superhero attire while Scorn, who is curious about the Team, arrives at Mount Justice.
4th Episode: The newly donned Wonder Girl and Wonder Warrior's first mission as the team will know Scorn's aggressiveness outmatch Superboy.
5th Episode: Wonder Girl tries to comfort Superboy as his nonexistent relationship with Superman takes its toll on him.
6th Episode: Scorn and Wonder Girl, who were assigned to protect Dr. Serling Roquette, now have to face the clones of Batman & (black canary or green arrow).
8th Episode: With their latest mission gone badly, the Twins started hearing a voice telling them a secret that both themselves and Justice League (even Wonder Woman) wanted and tell them to head to the place. They follow the directions as they head to the place only to find themselves ambushed by the clone of Martian Manhunter. Lucky Wonder Woman who noticed their strange behavior and followed them.
9th Episode: Kinda follows Canon there with one exception: everyone except Scorn have their memories back because he mysteriously disappears.
10th Episode: Aqualad brought a depressed Wonder Girl as she was heartbroken with her brother's disappearance to Taipei to help Red Arrow where Cheshire and the clones tried to assassinate Lex Luthor.
Prior to/and 11th Episode: Scorn spent some time with his Father as the latter manipulated him, planting a seed of doubt about his team while Wonder Woman searched for her son.
12th Episode: The Twins must convince the clone of Martian Manhunter to help them. The Twins return to Mount Justice, choosing to take a scenic route in an attempt to convince (Shifter/Snarl), as the trio saved the Team at the very last second.
13th Episode: During the events of episode nine, the Sister informs Aqualad of a mole within the Team. Superboy overheard the Sister with Batman and grew angry at such a betrayal. Seeing his sister being harassed by Superboy, Scorn attacks the Cadmus Clone. Although Justice League (ahem Batman) expects the clones and the Team to investigate India, only to find Scorn, with his sister and the other clone, no longer wanted to work with the Team and basically deserts the Team.
