I was drinking a little with some of my friends and it reminded me of some of the few times my current girlfriend has seen me tipsy lol So, this little one-shot occurred from that and I hope you all enjoy!
Drinking wasn't something that I would do very often.
There were times when the older junior agents would convince me to try a sip of something or another, but it wasn't something I really let myself enjoy until I was nearing the age of twenty-two. Even then, I normally wouldn't drink all that much. It was normally enough so that the fuzzy feeling in my brain was barely noticeable and a warm spot settled within my stomach. Enough to feel the effects, but enough to feel all out of sorts or forget what happened the morning after.
Though, there have been a few times that the line between enough and 'one more can't hurt' has been blurred. When a few too many were definitely had and I needed someone to guide me in the right direction.
I smiled wide as the mix of bitter and sweet danced around my taste buds lovingly. The familiar gleam of brown loving eyes caught my attention as my smile only grew.
Tonight was definitely one of those nights and luckily for me, Lili was always close by.
"You have the prettiest smile." I drew out the adjective as Lili just rolled her eyes at me.
"And you are unbelievably tipsy."
"But I'm not wrong." My smile was sloppy as I leaned in to put my head on her shoulder. "And anyone with eyes would agree~."
"Uh-huh." Lili just gave me a soft smile as she reached up and put a hand through my helmet-free hair. "You should have some water, Aquato."
"Water's for pussies." I stuck my tongue out at her and she just laughed softly beside me.
"You'll be regretting that phrase in the morning. I'll bet money on that." She pushed the red solo cup I had left on the nearby table just out of my reach with her free hand before leaning into me. "But I'm cutting you off then if you're refusing water. Don't need you with too bad of a headache tomorrow."
"But it tastes like blueberries!"
"And is full of damn gin, Raz." I pouted as Lili just smiled wide at me. "Oh, don't be a baby. I promise to make it in the future if you like it that much."
"Really!" I gave her a toothy grin and she just shrugged.
"It's gin and lemonade. How hard could it be?" I gave her a happy chuckle before leaning my head up a little.
"You're the best!"
"For offering to make you mixed drinks in the future?" Lili gave me a teasing nudge with her shoulder as I shook my head slightly.
"Because you're the best girlfriend evers! Done and done!"
"Yeah?" Lili gave a sweet smile as I nodded pridefully.
"You know it! The absolutely bestest!"
"I don't think that's how English works, but I'll take it." She giggled softly as I couldn't help but smile at her like a fool.
"I loves you."
"I loves you too, Raz." She turned slightly so she could lean her head on mine as she nuzzled into my side. "Want to just sit here for a bit till some of the alcohol wears off?"
"Do I get to stay here with yous?"
"Why wouldn't you?"
"Good question." Lili couldn't help but laugh wholeheartedly as she rubbed her cheek against my head.
"Idiot."
"Excuse you. I'm your idiot, thank you very much." I gave a bubbly laugh as Lili just nudged her shoulder against me lightly.
"Of course you are."
"Forever and always too, never forget that!"
"How could I ever?" Lili's voice was soft as I giggled like a giddy child.
"Forevers." Lili hummed approvingly as I felt her hand fall from my head and find its way into mine.
"Forevers." I smiled silently as I closed my eyes contently. The familiar warmth in my stomach still as I leaned a little more of my weight onto her.
Alcohol may give me a warm feeling, but it's always temporary.
I squeezed her hand gently as a familiar feeling swelled within my chest.
She will forever be my favorite source of warmth. And this feeling?
I felt her thumb rub the back of mine gently in reply.
Is something that'll last forever.
