Horatio turned his head to the right and just stared at her dazed.
"Well, maybe I should talk to her, hmm? This is her second call to you now, she must be wondering where you are. We must not keep her worrying for your safety now, should we? Maybe, we should tell her, she could join us, hmm? Wouldn't you like that lieutenant?"
Horatio tried to speak but only a low groan came out. "woo---"
Claudia opened the phone, hit the send button and said "Hello" in a soft sweet voice.
Horatio's eyes flew wide open in disbelief and a determined "No" came out of his mouth. He was shocked she answered his phone; he thought she was bluffing, she really is insane, beyond insane, he thought to himself.
Claudia gave him a deadly look and hit him hard in the chest. The pain shot right through him and he gasped for breath. He groaned loudly this time, unable to control the sound coming from his battered body.
"Arrrgg" He bit down trying to bare the pain and she began talking….
"Hello, anyone there?" Again, she asked.
Calleigh answered, confused a moment, thinking to herself. A
woman's voice. She looked at her phone for a moment thinking.
Huh?...What was that sound?... She went on.
"Forgive me I must have the wrong number" and began to disconnect
when Claudia asked, "Well now, just what number are you trying to reach?"
"No it's ok, really, I have the wrong number" Calleigh answered.
Claudia said "Ok, if- you- say- so" laughing now.
Calleigh felt a chill go through her, something was wrong, she felt it. She did not hang up yet and waited for her next words.
"So who are you trying to reach……Calleigh? Claudia asked in a soft voice.
Now, alarms were going off in Calleigh's head, she was unsure.
"A police officer" she answered sternly and went on, "A lieutenant to be exact, he's……
Claudia quickly cut her off. "Really, I- know- a- Lieutenant," She said, in a snide voice to Calleigh now.
Calleigh started walking quickly to the lab where Eric and Ryanwere, maybe they heard from Horatio by now she though. But in her heart and mind she knew something was terribly wrong. Calleigh was thinking to herself….She knows a lieutenant? What the heck…
"Hello, you still there?" Claudia asked, pulling Calleigh away from her thoughts.
"Yes, I am here" Calleigh answered. "Who are you, what is your name?" Calleigh asked, in a demanding voice now.
Deep laughter came through the phone now and Claudia asked her.
"Any chance the Lieutenant has RED hair?..."
Calleigh stopped dead in her tracks. She pulled the phone closer to her ear and squeezed it tighter now.
"Who are you?" Calleigh asked again, this time, almost in a whisper.
Claudia laughed again and said "Well now, that's you job, isn't it?"
Calleigh asked one question, hesitating a moment ……"Where- is...Horatio?"
"Horatio, humm…... why he's with me." Claudia laughed and answered quickly.
"Id let you talk to him but he is a little tied up right now." She was laughing into the phone.
Calleigh was almost running to the lab now, hoping to get there intime to maybe trace the call.
Another phone began ringing; Calleigh could hear it in the background. She listened intently.
"I have to hang up now, sorry" Claudia said laughing.
Calleigh answered "WAIT! Wait a minute" and was trying to keep her on the line but it was no use and the connection went dead.
"Hello Jay" Claudia spoke into her cell phone…
