Chapter 3: Ron Part 1
After receiving Hermione's reply, Ron began to come up with a plan to spy on his parents later that night. In his bedside drawer were the extendable ears that he stole from the twins' room earlier that day when they were out playing Quidditch. At the bottom of his drawer covered with books and loose sheets of parchment was one of the letters that he found in the rubbish the first day he came back home from Hogwarts. He has kept the letter away from the other members of his family's prying eyes since he found it. The reason why he was keeping this a secret, for now, was because he wanted more answers to his questions. If any interference came his way and his parents caught wind of him knowing, he knew that his parents would be more entwined in secrecy. He hated the idea of spying on his parents in this way but he couldn't help it. This letter shook him to his core and it taunted him to no end. He has so many questions about this letter there was no stopping them once he started with one.
Why would the other pure-bloods send a letter to us? The Weasleys were never on good terms with the other pure-bloods; why would they send this? Maybe to intimidate my parents or maybe have them consider their standing as purebloods? Is this letter just blackmail or is one of my parents joining their side?
Ron shook his head quickly in disgust. He couldn't believe that there was even a possibility let alone that last thought running across his mind. After what happened with Percy, it was strictly absurd that his parents would even think about doing that.
Ron shook his head once more to clear his thoughts and crawled into bed and turned out his candle. Tonight, he was creating the illusion that he was asleep and his parents were free to talk without interruption. When the time was right, he was going to strike his plan into action. After a long while of laying in his bed and hearing his father open his door to check on him, he slowly got up from his bed, took out the extendable ears and a long cord from his drawer, and tiptoed out of his room. After seeing if the coast was clear and the only sound of movement was coming from downstairs, he closed in close enough to the top of the stairs. The lights were out everywhere downstairs except for the dining room where there was a single candle lighting his parents' faces as they talked in hushed tones at the dining table. Ron gently sent the extendable ears down the stairs through the railing as he tentatively listened in to his parents' conversation.
"Do you think we should put up the silencing charms?" Molly asked.
"No, you don't have to, Molly, the children are asleep. I've checked myself. Don't worry about them, they won't know," Arthur replied.
"I don't know what to do anymore. This whole thing feels like I'm pulling out my hair! They're coming Wednesday but-," Molly exclaimed, controlling her voice trying not to go above the hushed tones they had set up for themselves.
"I have everything handled they're coming on Wednesday too before they come."
"Do you think they'll help us?"
"Yes, I see them every day at work. They are very trustworthy; they have eyes everywhere."
Ron heard his mother sigh and then a long pause engulfed the room. For a moment Ron thought that they noticed him spying on them until his father spoke once more.
"If it puts you at ease if we keep our children safe and if the meeting goes well, they will never need to know that has ever happened."
"That's my point and what I'm worried about!" Molly exasperated, which was almost loud enough that Ron could hear loud and clear without the extendable ears. "What if things don't go well, what then?"
"Molly, calm down, things will work themselves out."
"But the meeting is this Wednesday, how do you know they aren't mocking us?"
His father paused again but this time the silence was so deafening that Ron could feel the doubt that his father was feeling at this moment without even looking at him. This meeting must be tearing him apart!
"I don't think they are mocking us, darling."
"I guess we'll see what happens if they are mocking us or not. I hope they aren't. We need this help."
"I understand," Arthur sighs. "I don't like to second-guess but this is serious. I believe they are here to help and will help us on Wednesday. nothing to intercept or have them change their minds about helping us. I have my fingers crossed."
"Me too with a tight grip."
Ron hears his parents give each other a kiss as his father starts to speak again.
"I think we should retire for the night. We have a lot to prepare for in the next 2 days. If everything goes as planned, we will meet them at 5:50 am on Wednesday before they even get here."
Ron hears his mother agree and they blow out the candles for the night and head off to their room. Returning to his room and back into his bed Ron stared up at his ceiling contemplating what this meeting or meetings were going to be about. Why are his parents trying so hard to keep him and his siblings out of this meeting or should I say these meetings? Who was the main focus of these two meetings? One was no doubt one of the purebloods but who was the other? If his father was correct, were there other wizards coming before the purebloods, and were they going to be helpful to my family?
He tossed and turned as the questions filled his mind but it was no use to even think about resting for the night. Fred, George, and Ginny had to know that next morning what was happening but the only problem was how to tell them and when.
The next morning, he acted as if everything was normal and okay even though he could feel at the bottom of his throat the worry and uneasiness build up. The rush of Ron's parents either heading out the door or making breakfast made his worry and uneasiness seem minuscule compared. His father said his farewells as he dashed out the door while Fred and George invited him to a game of Quidditch. Ron was already exhausted from his sleepless night but this would be the best opportunity to gather his siblings outside of the house to talk to them about this matter.
As he ran up the stairs to his room to gather his gear and the letter, he could hear a soft knock at his bedroom door. Almost jumping out of his skin, Ron turned quickly on his heel to face his little sister Ginny in his doorway.
"What?" Ron asked as he looked at her clueless as to why she was there in the first place.
"Can I join you?" Ginny said with a slight quiver in her voice.
Ron raised an eyebrow as to why she was asking this. She always loved Quidditch with the rest of her brothers then it hit him like a speeding broom. Ginny was never invited to play Quidditch at all with Fred and George or even himself. He wanted to kick himself for forgetting that detail. He assumed that since he needed all of his siblings in one place at one time this would be a great time to do so. He figured since he was preoccupied with the thought of the letter, he had forgotten everything he needed to accomplish the explanation of the letter to Fred, George, and Ginny.
"Of course, you can," Ron smiled with fake certainty as he could feel the sense of regret in his throat as to what Fred and George would even think about this. "But before we get into the game I want to talk to Fred, George, and you together outside, okay?"
Ginny's jaw dropped and she leaped into the air in happiness and excitement before she immediately hugged him.
"Yes, of course, and thank you!" She exclaimed as she raced off to her room with the biggest smile on her face. Ron winced as Ginny's door slammed closed. Fred and George don't like non-players to play with them and Ron hoped that it would be okay in letting her play just this once.
Once outside in the garden, Ron, Fred, and George went to collect their broomsticks from the shed and found Ginny choosing her own.
"Oi! When did we let you ever touch the brooms?" Fred said and Ginny jumped at the indication with confusion.
"Wait, I can't join you?" She questioned.
"When did we ever let yo-?" George started but was interrupted by Ron clearing his throat loudly and began speaking over him.
"I promised her a game if she joined in with the talk, I wanted to have with the three of you."
With disgusted looks on their faces, Fred and George glanced at each other and shrugged
"What is it that you have to say?" George said as the twins grabbed the only two chairs in the room and sat down on them.
"And say it fast we have a game to get to," Fred said,
"I think Mum and Dad are being threatened by the other purebloods," Ron said after taking a deep breath.
"What makes you think that?" Fred asked. Ron reached into his pocket and retrieved the letter.
"I found this in the bin on the first night we came back home from Hogwarts."
"Why are you getting things from the bin?" Ginny disgusted.
"I found this letter in the bin because it has the same wax stamp that Neville's grandmother got when she received the same letter."
"How do you know it's from the purebloods? It could be from someone that wants to prank us," George said.
"Hell, this letter could be from the many wizards that want to get back at us. We're very notorious!" Fred amused himself at the thought.
Ginny grabbed the letter from Ron's hands and carefully looked at the wax stamp seal on the back of the letter. "This seems real and valid."
"You can read if you want but the main reason, I wanted to talk with you is that there will be meetings happening on Wednesday that Mum and Dad don't want us to know about."
"Is that the reason why they want us all out on Wednesday?" Fred said, raising an eyebrow.
"I believe so. Last night I heard them talking after we went to bed. I heard through the extendable ears-," Ron explained until Fred and George heard the words extendable ears.
"Oi! Why were you ever in our room?" George said.
"And why were you in there taking our stuff?" Fred continued.
"Calm down, I put them back. But what I'm trying to say is that they are hiding something from us and I want to know for sure whether this is a real threat or not. Please, that's all I'm asking you to help me with! I know that you also want to know if this is true or not."
"It is curious, to say the least after reading it," Ginny said as she passed on the letter to the twins. "Wait, didn't you say that it's more than one meeting?"
"Yes, last night Mum and Dad discussed that someone is coming before the purebloods. They didn't explain who was coming but they explicitly said they were coming to help them. I think it would be best if the three of us come up with a plan to spy on them Wednesday morning without them knowing." Ron finally finished.
"Well, I'm in! I like to see who these purebloods think they are threatening Mum and Dad like this!" Fred exclaimed.
"But we have a few changes since you took our stuff in trying to find out this information," George added.
Ron frowned. He knew that stealing those extendable ears was a bad idea.
"For the time being you two figure out where you are going on Tuesday night. We'll handle the rest," Fred ordered.
"Is everyone on board with our plans?" George said.
"I'm in!" Ginny agreed.
"I am too," Ron said begrudgingly.
"Well now it's settled, we will meet later today or tomorrow morning to tell our parents where we will be going later on tonight," Fred said as both of the twins got up from their chairs and leave the broom shed without the brooms.
"Wait, aren't we going to play Quidditch?" Ginny asked. "You promised!"
"We didn't promise anything," Fred and George replied in unison.
"And we never play with people that don't know how to play the game," Fred said.
"Let alone don't know how to fly a broom," George finished.
Ginny growled as the twins walked out of the broom shed without a second thought.
"Harry would have let me play with you if he wanted," Ginny declared.
"I'm not sure if that would've happened, Gin, maybe next time," Ron yawned as he patted her shoulder. The sleepless night had begun to weigh on him heavily.
"Have you talked to him?"
"No, but I received a letter from Hermione."
"You know I feel that she'll eventually go to Viktor Krum in the future."
"What makes you say that?" Ron said with astonishment asked her why she would say this now at this moment.
"It's just a feeling," Ginny shrugged.
Ron glared at his little sister as she left the broom shed back to the burrow. He wasn't sure what to make of what she was saying and after a while, he didn't care about it. He chalked it up to be something siblings say when they're mad at each other. Yawning once more, Ron carried his exhausted body up to his room and slept for several hours.
Later that night Fred and George called a meeting with Ron and Ginny so everyone could understand what the plan was for Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. Fred and George agreed on staying with Lee Jordan for the night while Ginny assured them that she will be staying with Luna Lovegood. These choices were to not arouse suspicion on their part because Ginny always loved going to Luna's house when her brothers cut her out of things that they were doing and Lee Jordan was a very good quidditch player so it's a no-brainer. The only loose string was Ron. Ron had two friends, Harry and Hermione, but he could not ask them on account of Harry's despicable relatives and Hermione's muggle family. Even though he didn't voice this, even if Ron even thought of bringing up going to Hermione's house alone his mother will not let him hear the end of it. Then Ginny brought up Dean Thomas who was staying in Diagon Alley for the week which in turn thought it was a brilliant idea and agreed on sending an owl to him that night.
The rest of the plan was to meet in the forest next to the garden adjacent to the Burrow. It was the perfect and close enough spot for them to portkey their way back without raising suspicion. Before Fred and George would leave, they would take their extendable ears out to the garden as a placeholder as to where the four siblings will be stationed when the meetings take place on Wednesday where their parents nor anyone coming in can spot them. The plan had some misgivings but Ron was not going to voice any of these complaints and believed that Fred and George had more of a bulletproof plan than he believed it to be.
Both Ginny and Ron voice their want to go to their respective places the following night while Fred and George talked to both their mom and dad in the morning about some quidditch match that Lee Jordan called them to see. Their mum was fine with everything and wished everyone a safe return. Before Ron and Ginny left Fred put a chess piece and brush portkey into their respective bags. Both Ron and Ginny wanted to question where Fred and George got these portkeys but decided against it because they knew they weren't going to give them a definitive answer. The plan was in full force now and there were no brakes in stopping it. Ron just hoped everything will come to fruition.
Ron was the first one to leave the Burrow through the fireplace that Tuesday morning after he got a response letter from Dean Thomas telling him where to meet him. Once meeting him Dean told him where they would be staying for the night at the Leaky Cauldron and for a little while, Ron forgot about the plan and his parents and spent the day carefree with Dean.
"This was a fun time," Dean said, closing the door to their room. The room that they were staying in was quite large for the both of them consisting of two separate beds, a table big enough for the both of them, and an offhand bathroom. "Most of the time when I come to Diagon Alley it's with my mum and since she's a muggle she doesn't know quite as much as you do."
"I didn't know you're a half-blood Dean," Ron replied as he picked a spot on one of the beds in the room.
"That's because I'm not," Dean chuckled. "I'm muggle-born."
"Wow," Ron said. "I thought I only knew one muggle-born."
"No, who is the other muggle-born that you know?"
"Hermione."
"Oh, that's right! Maybe I should talk to her a bit more. How are she and Harry?"
"She is fine and Harry is with his evil relatives so I don't know until we come and get him. Oh yeah Dean, I must tell you that I must leave about 5:30 in the morning tomorrow."
"Why are you leaving so soon and so early?"
"There's something happening back at home and I want to see it without my parents knowing I'm there."
Dean rubbed his chin in hesitation as Ron watched on with his eyebrow raised. "I'll tell you more about it once I get more answers," Ron reassured him.
Dean looked over to Ron and realized his state of mind translated to his confused facial expression. "Oh, okay? But that's not why I'm confused."
"What do you mean?"
Dean hesitated again, "Your sister Ginny… Is she going out with Neville?"
"As far as I know, no she is not. If she is, me, Fred, and George will be having a talk with her when we get back to the Burrow. What makes you ask?" Ron replied as he struggled to take his shoes off not noticing what Dean was trying to imply or completely understanding what Dean was trying to get at. Dean turned his head away from Ron and wiped a cold sweat off his neck.
"Nothing. I just saw the two of them at the Yule Ball."
"Yeah, I caught that too but she explains that there's nothing between them but I'm not so sure."
"Oh," Dean paused, then quickly changed the subject. "Anyway, why are you spying on your parents?"
"If it's really important I'll tell you in the next few days but for now I can't explain. I don't have many answers to the questions I have for them."
"Are they okay?"
"I'm not a hundred percent sure, but let's not talk about that. I'll explain later when I get more answers. Let's have a round of chess before the night's out!"
"You're on!" Dean smiled.
The boys played chess until the early hours of the night then headed off to bed until Ron's bag started to rattle and thrash. This was Fred and George's idea of a wake-up call scaring Ron out of his slumber onto the hardwood floor. Disgruntled, Ron carefully lifted himself up after hitting his head on the floor, grabbed his bag, and opened it to find a small rock making such a racket. He picked up said rock and everything went back to normal in his bag. Ron frowned. Fred and George are masters of brilliant pranks.
"What was that?" Dean said in a daze.
"One of the twin's pranks that they like to play on me," he replied. "Just go back to sleep, I'll tell you when I'm leaving."
In the pitch-black dark, Ron felt his way to the bathroom door and got ready even though he wasn't ready for what he was going to see in the next hour or so. After several deep breaths in the mirror, Ron hoped to Merlin that everything wasn't as it seems and everything was just fine. My parents are just meeting with someone that can help nothing more nothing less and maybe a pureblood to threaten them.
After saying his goodbyes to Dean, he took out the chess piece in his bag and held on to it tight as it whisked him away to the forest outside of the Burrow.
The bright moonlight made it trouble-free as Ron tried to stumble his way out of the forest to find the cornfield adjacent to the Burrow. The uncomfortable feeling after traveling by portkey wasn't always a great one; it was so much so that Ron felt that he was going to throw up at any minute. As he found a small clearing in the cornfield, he sat on the ground where he waited for his siblings to arrive and for his head and stomach to stop turning in circles. 5 minutes go past and he hears rustling from the cornfield coming towards his way and quickly sees Ginny with her bag on her back.
"Are you the only one here?" Ginny questioned.
"I think so," Ron replied. "It seems that way but I didn't search for Fred and George as my stomach is just turning in circles."
"Mine too," Ginny nodded her head as she joined her brother on the ground. "I think that Luna knows who is going to be our next Defense Against the Dark Arts professor next year."
"Who?"
"Some lady named Dolores Umbridge. I don't know who she is but Luna says that she has a bad feeling about her."
"Maybe we should give her a chance at least once."
"Yeah, that's what I told Luna but I don't think she's 100% sure. Anyway, did you get to talk to Harry at all?"
"No, only Hermione."
"Did she talk about Viktor?"
"No," Ron raised an eyebrow. "Why?"
"I caught the two of them talking before we left Hogwarts."
"I don't think she is still talking to him. And if she is, she promised to send me an autograph."
"Fanboy," Ginny joked as she looked up at the twilight sky not noticing her brother pondering the idea.
I hope she isn't…
"Oi!" Fred's voice called out as the twin rustled through the cornfield to their location. "Why are you guys sitting here? Showtime is about to start in a few minutes!"
With that, the four Weasleys walked over to where Fred and George's extendable ears were hidden and a good spot where they all could see the front door and whoever was coming to these meetings with a bonus of coverage of the cornfield to cover them overhead.
The extendable ears were attached to a long invisible string that led up to the dining room in the burrow. The other end of the extendable ears sat underneath the dining room table and could easily pick up the smallest minute noises within the room. The four siblings were going to hear anything and everything in the room while the meeting was going on. That's all they had to do is stay out of the line of sight.
After a few minutes passed and Ron kept on looking back and forth at his watch and up into the twilight sky. It seemed like no one was coming and this was confirmed by the way his parents were utterly stressed out through the extendable ears as they sat in the dining room. From afar they could see that the Burrow had no lights on except in the dining room where their parents were sitting patiently and fearfully waiting for an appearance from someone to show up. Ron was getting anxious as to why no one was coming as the clock ticked down closer and closer to 6.
"I don't think they will check the clock and time soon out of their anxiety which is a good thing we can stay under cover until the meetings are over with," George explained.
"I think I see something coming out of the cloud," Ginny pointed up in the direction of the object flying in the sky. Ron turned his sights to where she was pointing and saw a witch's broom fly over and down to the Burrow. As a figure came closer and closer to a landing spot near the front door the four Weasleys could tell it was a witch but not any regular witch, a witch that sported pink hair, bright pink at that.
"What witch wears their hair pink?" George said.
"Yeah, I've never seen anyone wear their hair like that," Fred replied.
The extendable ears sound started again after a long silence of their parents waiting for this person in anxiety to arrive. The four siblings listened closely as they heard a knock at the door and as one of their parents shuffled their way over to open the door.
"Hello, good morning!" Arthur greeted with a slight sense of insecurity.
"Hello, you must be Arthur and Molly Weasley," The four siblings could only assume that this was the lady with the pink hair at their front door talking.
"Yes, we are," Molly said.
"It's nice to meet you both. I am the secret friend that your coworker was explaining to you last time you met with him at work on Tuesday," The woman started to explain. "My name is Nymphadora Tonks but you can call me Tonks. I am an Auror that is working for a secret organization that I will explain later. I have surveyed the outskirts of your land to see if any purebloods were hiding anywhere or if any weird activity hiding within the vicinity."
"Do you think there is any chance that she saw us here?" Ginny asked.
"I don't think so. It may be a coincidence or it may be because we live here and there's no difference in the magic that's used here," George assumed.
"Are your children upstairs?" Tonks continued.
"No, I didn't want them here," Molly replied. "I don't want to cause them alarm if everything goes awry."
"I understand," Tonks said with a bit of uneasiness. "Okay we don't have much time so show me to the nearest closet that you have nearest to this room."
There was a slight silence in the room as they heard short shuffling and long shuffling, they assumed their parents were pointing to the nearby clean closet that was near the dining room.
"This is perfect," Tonks replied. "Now what I want you to do when this meeting starts and when they get here make everything fine and normal but say no to everything that they offer. If they threaten you in any shape or form, I will defend you to the best of my abilities and have you escape out the rear door. If that happens, I will meet you at this safe house on this piece of paper. Okay?"
"We understand," Arthur and Molly agreed in unison.
"Good and remember just tell them no and if they are not too hostile everything will be fine."
The next thing the siblings hear is a door closed which they assumed to be the closet that Tonks went into and what they could tell was their parents letting off a big sigh of relief and a small sound of glass clinking together, they must have had tea to calm their nerves, as the front door knocked again. Ron could also feel a sigh of relief that someone was there to help his parents but the moment the front door knocked again it sent chills down his spine. The real moment of truth solidifies that not only Neville's family was threatened but his family too is being threatened by an overconfident pureblood alliance.
The four of them sat in silence as they waited for the next person to walk through the front door of the Burrow. From where they sat it was a surprise that they even showed up as fast as they did. So fast that they didn't even get to see who they were. George explains that they must have apparited there. Even though from the pounding knock at the door to the shuffling and the creaking of the door only lasted a few seconds it felt like an eternity filled with intensity and fear.
The only thing to yank them out of their intensity was the first greeting voices of the supposedly invited guest.
"Hello Mr. and Mrs. Weasley," they said. "What a wonderful morning it is."
The voice sounded familiar to all of the siblings but they all couldn't quite pinpoint where they heard this voice from. It sounded female there was no doubt about that and also it sounded like they were in the same age range as their mother and father. The woman's voice sounded calm but also calculating. It was almost as if she was assertive in what she was going to get out of the Weasleys in this meeting.
"I hope you don't mind if I bring a friend with me, this is Fenrir," she said.
"Uh, uh-," Arthur stuttered but was overtaken by Molly who stepped in as he fumbled. There were several sets of shuffling throughout the dining room and chairs being pulled out; the one that was most prominent was the sound of dog's nails scratching lightly on the floor.
"What did this woman bring some three-headed dog to intimidate mum and dad?" Fred said.
"No, no we don't mind, Narcissa," Molly trembled. "Come in. Would you like a cup of tea?"
"Hey, I think that's Malfoy's mum!" George commented.
"Yes, please and don't worry about my friend, he doesn't want any. He doesn't care for such things," Narcissa said as they heard glass clinking and liquid being poured into the glass. "Let me just clear the air for the moment. I am not here for your heads or anything. We don't wish that upon you. You see, I want a good strong alliance with you as purebloods. We are all family at the end of the day."
They could hear a growl from the other end of the room.
"Yes, yes we are distant cousins," Arthur replied with a tremble. "Now why do you want us in an alliance? The Weasleys were always the outcasts of the purebloods."
"Oh, we understand that but we have a proposition for you. And that proposition, as we explained in the letter, is if you ever wanted to be on good terms with us this is a great opportunity to do so."
"Good terms meaning?" Molly asked.
"It means to renounce anything and everything dealing with muggles. They can't be trusted anyway, they have killed us by the hundreds many years ago," she explains. "I think it would be easier for your family to do so. It's safer."
"But muggles haven't done anything to us for quite some time-," Arthur explained but was rudely interrupted.
"Mr. Weasley, I see that you are Head of the Misuse of Muggle Artefacts Office," Narcissa said like he didn't say anything. "What a silly job, your impact doesn't really mean anything to Wizarding World. Why not have the other purebloods find a way to promote you to a better and more impactful job in the ministry?"
Despite not being in the room to see what was happening Ron, Fred George, and Ginny all could feel the creeping smile on Narcissa's face. Easier for your family to do so. What a silly job. It was clear as day that this alliance between the purebloods would only benefit the purebloods that have more of a long-standing relationship with each other than the Weasleys. The four Weasley siblings didn't know the full extent of their proposition but they knew that once their mum and dad say no to this agreement there will be hell to pay.
"We do not wish to join you! We do not express the same views as the rest of the purebloods! And it's preposterous for you to even think that we would even take your side!" Molly stood her ground as Narcissa scoffed and from the other end of the room, they could hear a low but confident chuckling sound from the fifth person in the room which they assumed to be Fenrir.
"Whoever this Fenrir guy is he should really be out of the room," Ron stated. "This doesn't concern him, why even bring him?"
"I think he's there for intimidation," Ginny replied. "I think the other purebloods expected them to run."
"My husband sent me today because he knew how persuasive the Weasleys were if there was a person that was more inviting and understanding to the situation at hand," Narcissa started. "But he told me to take Fenrir with me just in case for protection. I didn't want to take him at first but then I reminded myself if there were to be any difficulties in this meeting he would pounce to my aid. Now I understand your reasoning to reject our offer today, so we want you to place both of your wands on the table here and place both of your hands behind your back."
"But-," Molly protested but couldn't finish.
"Mrs. Weasley, I do not want to cause trouble to either of you this morning. If I go quietly nothing will happen but if there are any more outbursts like that the consequences will be dire."
The four Weasley siblings gathered around closer to the extendable ear as the dining room grew silent. It was hard for them to distinguish certain sounds but they most definitely heard two things being placed on the table which they assumed to be their parent's wands and the creaking of their dining chairs.
"Two dragon heartstrings core wands but one with a cherry wood and the other a red oak," Narcissa stated. "Two very sophisticated wands for two underwhelming people. That's what I get for interacting with blood traitors. That is all I need to see. We are done here, Fenrir, let's go."
A minute passes before any sign of movement starts again. A creaking of a door within the dining room opened then there were a few more moments of silence before Tonks began to speak.
"Mr. and Mrs. Weasley I must congratulate you on how cooperative and confident you were in this meeting," she explained. "I detected there was more than one outside magical force that wasn't familiar to your home outside. I'm sorry for not jumping to your aid quickly as you wanted to as she set a spell on you to restrain you back. Since she was leaving, I think it was a good course of action for me not to do anything or have my presence known to them in this most vulnerable time."
"Thank you for your help, Tonks," Arthur said. "If you weren't behind us, I don't know what I would do in the presence of a real werewolf like Fenrir."
"Werewolf?" Ginny gasped.
"I guess I was right when I called him a three-headed dog but that is more terrifying than I ever imagined he would be," Fred said.
"No problem," Tonks replied. "Now if you want us to help you again, I have another group for you to join but this time no strings attached or other motives that we have on our end. We protect our own as you do us. It's called the Order of the Phoenix. I do hope you consider us."
"Thank you, Tonks and we will think about it and we'll call you as soon as we can," Molly smiled.
"I think it's safe to say that we should be on the lookout for the Malfoys from now on and maybe the other purebloods," Ron said as they all collectively stopped listening to the extendable ears.
"Most definitely all the ones from Slytherin, I have a feeling that they're all in on this alliance that they're making," Ginny added.
"Yeah, you know I never wanted to punch the Malfoys in the face more than any other moment than this one," Fred said as he gave a heavy sigh. "Maybe we'll talk about this later but for now just keep an eye open and always look over your shoulder from now on. Now let's hurry up and get out of here before Mum and Dad know that we are here."
Thank you for reading and I hope you have a good holiday and Merry Christmas until next time stay safe out there my friends!
