Hey I'm back with another chapter in just a couple days! Yaaaaayyy! Thanks for the TWO reviews that I got last time! It's definitley not as much as other authors out there, but I just got my FIRST reviewers and I'm HAPPY! XD
Anyways, I realized that I've been spelling Kai's last name wrong...SHAME ON ME! I feel soooo terrible! So I went through all the chapters to make sure I corrected HiwItari to HiwAtari, but if you find anymore of those mistakes then please tell me and I'll be happy to make the correction.

Chapter 2: Encounters
"Hey, I wonder where they are." Max wondered aloud.
"MAX!" He heard someone familiar shout his name. Sure enough, it was Mariam running down the airport towards the Bladebreakers. The Bladebreakers had just arrived in Bern, and already they had met up with friends.
"Mariam! It's so good to see y-umph!" Max was cut off when Mariam gave him a bone crushing hug and he almost flew back to the ground.
"Come on! Everyone's waiting for you guys in the cafeteria, let's go already!" Mariam urged. She dragged Max to the entire group and the Bladebreakers followed them.
"It's about time you got here." Lee said. He went over to greet Ray with Mariah right behind him. "It's good to see you old friend."
"Same goes for you." Ray said. He looked over and noticed Mariah standing behind Lee. She leaned over and gave a cute kitty face. She wore her usual white and pink outfit and her hair was put into a ponytail with a pink ribbon. "Hey there Mariah. How's it going?"
"Ray!" She jumped onto Ray and gave him a huge hug. "I missed you so much!" She said almost in a whisper.
"I missed you too." Ray said in a normal tone, oblivious to what was going on. Everyone was getting reacquainted once again. Hilary, Julia, Mariam, Ming-Ming, and Mariah, were all talking far enough so the boys couldn't hear, and the boys sat together talking about Beyblading as usual.
"I wanna get some of that Swiss chocolate!" Tyson suddenly commented. Everyone sweatdropped as they exited the airport.
"Maybe we should check in to the hotel. We should get settled and then go sight-seeing." Ray said, being the logical one. They walked out of the airport and were immediately taken in by the fresh Swiss Alps air.
"Smell that? The Swiss Alps are amazing. I can't wait to go snowboarding here. This is gonna be great!" Michael exclaimed.
"Not if I beat you at it. You and I should go racing when we go snowboarding. Although not to be bragging, I am pretty good at the sport." Kai boasted with a small grin on his face.
"I am too." Michael countered. Ray smiled at the two bickering back and forth, but he couldn't help but feel something strange.
"You feel that?" Ray asked.
"Yeah, I do." Lee replied. "Someone's watching us." Lee and Ray looked around. They were right. But not only was someone watching them, everyone was watching them. They were glaring at the group of teens, but what for?
"Is that who I think it is?" One girl asked. Lee and Ray could hear all the conversations going around with their heightened sense of sound. However they could only make out the ones said in English.
"It can't be him, could it?"
"I thought he died during the incident."
The two could feel all eyes on Kai. They were talking about him. But…why would they be saying those things about Kai? What the hell is going on around here? Lee wondered.
"Ray, let's keep this between you and me. I don't think Kai should know about this. Something's going on around here and I'm not sure if I like it." Lee reasoned.
"Yeah, I agree." Ray said.
"I call this room!" Tyson shouted. He ran to the biggest room in the Bladebreaker's suit only to find Kai already unpacking his things.
"Too late. Everyone else already has the other rooms, so you can have the one across the hall from this one." Kai told him with a smirk.
"But yours is the biggest! And it has its own washroom! And two beds! And mine is so tiny!" Tyson screamed as he saw his room.
"That's what you get for stopping at the hotel's buffet table for an hour." Hilary scolded.
"But their food is so good!" Tyson whined. "I love Swiss food! My mouth is watering just thinking about the food here. Besides, why does Kai need a room with two beds anyways? And why is there an extra bed? I thought we only booked six bedrooms and six beds in the suit." Tyson wondered.
"Well they could only get us this room 'cause all the other ones are already taken. Besides, I bet we could turn it into a pillow fort!" Max said.
"Maxie, I like how you think." Tyson said with a grin.
Something's wrong with Ray, I can tell. I wonder what it is. Kai thought. He looked over at the dark haired male while he was unpacking his belongings. Not a lot gets to Ray, but this is getting strange. Kai finished with his room and looked over to the other bed. I feel like someone's supposed to be in that bed beside mine, but who's? This feeling, it's so…strange. I've never felt anything like this before. Kai shook his head, trying to get his thoughts out of his mind. Thinking about those things isn't gonna help him. He was here on a vacation with friends, that's it.
Kai's eyes shot up when he heard a knock at the door to their suit. He looked to everyone else and they were all startled as well.
"I'll get it!" Tyson and Max both hollered in unison. They raced to the door trying to answer it first. Max had won the race and opened the door much to Tyson's dismay. A male that looked around the same age as the rest of the team stood at the door, but he was a bit taller than both Max and Tyson. His short, blond hair partially covered silver orbs, and his body was well toned. He wore navy blue, baggy jeans with a black belt. He wore a black t-shirt and a green coat that was hiding something by his hip.
"Hi there, can we help you?" Max asked. "Oh wait…you understand me don't you?" Max asked. The boy outside the door chuckled somewhat.
"Yeah, I speak English. I was wondering if you were the world famous Bladebreakers that I've been hearing so much about." He said.
"That's us. If you want an autograph I'd be more than happy to give you one. Who would I be making it out to?" Tyson said putting an emphasis each time he said 'I'.
"No thanks, I don't want an autograph. But I'm sorry for not introducing myself earlier. I guess my manners must have slipped my mind. My name is Daryl." He opened his mouth to say more but decided not to, and he changed the subject. "So if you're the Bladebreakers, then Kai Hiwitari is here as well, right?" He asked getting straight to the point.
"Well, yeah, but why would you want to see him?" Max asked.
"I have my reasons." At that moment Kai walked out of his room and into the living room where he could see the three boys at the door. Kai gave a glance at the stranger at the door and didn't pay any more attention.
"Yo Kai! This guy over here wants to see you!" Tyson yelled over to his leader.
"Tell him I'm not interested in battling him." Kai yelled back lazily. He sat on the couch flipping through channels on their 60 inch flat screen, widescreen TV. He didn't even look over to the door showing any common courtesy.
Looks like some things just don't ever change. Daryl thought. He gave out a smirk and leaned against the door frame.
"Oh, I'm not interested in a battle, nor am I interested in any autographs. What I am interested in however, is if you remember anything after you escaped Balkov Abbey." He said. Kai's eyes shot open and he immediately looked over at Daryl.
"Who do you think you are? You some kind of stalker or something?" Kai inquired.
"No, of course not. I just heard rumors from some people that you were in Bern. But I guess I didn't really believe them so I just had to come see for myself. It seems that the rumors are true: the legendary Kai Hiwatari is in Switzerland. Too bad he doesn't remember anything about his past. But then…I guess it was to be expected that you lost something after the incident." Daryl said, although no one in the room even knew what he was talking about.
"What are you talking about? What incident? And how do you know anything about my past?" Kai ordered more than asking.
"My, my, so many questions. Well, I best be on my way. Oh right, I almost forgot. This is for you." In his hand was what seemed to be a ruby dagger in a silver sheath. Kai got up from the couch and walked over to the door. He grabbed the dagger from Daryl and examined it closely. Inscribed in the sheath were the words 'Kai Hiwitari'. He unsheathed the sharp blade and indeed it was pure ruby. Inscribed on the blade was an ancient text he didn't recognize, but he was certain it was something of importance. "This dagger belonged to you before the incident. It's valuable in more than one way, take care of it." And with that, he left Kai standing at the door staring at his new weapon.
"Hold on! What incident?" Kai called back to Daryl. Daryl stopped, but he kept his back towards Kai.
"I'm sorry. It's best if you just forget everything about it. Just enjoy the time you have. And about the dagger, you shouldn't pay much attention to it. It's all in your past now anyways. If something bad happens, you'll know what to do, I'm sure of it." Daryl said with a solemn tone. He left once again, not daring to stop this time.
"What was that all about?" Ray asked as Kai walked back into their suit. When he didn't get a reply, he urged further. "You haven't told us everything about your past, have you Kai? We know about Balkov abbey, but according to that Daryl character, there's more. What happened after you escaped Balkov abbey?" Ray pressed on. There was a silence and Kai just stood in the suit looking down. The rest of the team was looking at Kai and he could feel it.
Unaware that the door was still open, everyone that the Bladebreakers invited to Switzerland walked in. The Bladebreakers shared one suit, while Mariam, Julia, Mariah, and Ming-Ming shared another room. The third room was for the rest of the boys.
"What's going on?" Garland asked, completely oblivious. While everyone else was distracted, Kai took his chance and walked out of the suit while slamming the door shut. Julia winced since the door was slammed right in front of her face. "What's wrong with Kai?" Garland asked again.
Why do these things always have to happen to me? No wonder I can't trust Voltaire, he didn't tell me anything that happened after I escaped Balkov. Well, nothing that was true anyways. I have to calm down. This isn't like me. Kai thought. He took in a deep breath, noticing the tranquility in the country. He realized he still had his dagger with him, and everyone was looking at him strangely. He hid the dagger underneath his jacket and continued walking.
What kind of incident could Daryl have been talking about? From how he sounded, I can assume it was something bad. But what could it be?
Kai looked up at the clouds and he could see rain clouds forming over the city of Bern.
Max, Tyson, and Ray told the gang everything that happened while sitting in the living room couches. Hilary and Mariah had brought out some snacks for everyone to eat while they were listening. They could hear thunder from outside the window. Rain clouds had formed without their realizing it.
"Looks like it's about to rain soon." Brooklyn stated. He looked out the window and the entire sky was grey instead of the magnificent blue it always was.
"Well, I guess we should get something to eat. It's already getting a bit late." Max proposed.
"Good idea Maxie!" Tyson jumped up off the couch, completely forgetting what had happened in the past 24 hours. "I'm starved!"
"But you just ate before we got to the hotel!" Hilary lectured. Tyson just held his oh so famous smirk that he always wore. Hilary gave a sigh and followed the others to the restaurant inside the hotel.
The gang sat at three separate tables for six or five. Everyone ordered some type of Swiss meal that they've wanted to try for some time now. Their food came shortly and they all enjoyed their meals, especially Tyson.
"Mmmmm, you just gotta love their food!" Tyson cheered happily. Inhaling every small crumb on his plate, he gave out a loud belch strong enough to wake the dead.
"Tyson, watch your manners!" Hilary rebuked.
"I hope Kai's alright. It's really starting to pour out there." Garland said. He looked outside the window they sat beside, noticing that the only people still outside were running as fast as they could to get themselves to a dry area.
"What's he up to?" Ray wondered aloud. He didn't intend on anyone hearing, but the entire group could hear him loud and clear. They all wondered the same thing.
"I don't know. Maybe we should try and find him." Mystel suggested.
Where should I go to now? I don't wanna go back to the hotel; they'll all start asking questions. I just don't want to deal with them. Not yet. Kai thought to himself. He looked around the area to find that no one was near. The rain grew and his hair and clothes were completely soaked now. He gave out a deep sigh and continued walking slowly. There was no point running in the rain since you're just going to end up getting the same amount of water on you if you were to walk. Might as well save energy and just walk. Kai's head shot up. There was a figure that stood in the distance in the rain.
"Who are you?" He called out. The figure walked closer to him. Kai could finally get a good glimpse of them when they walked into the street lamp illuminating the dark and barren streets. It was a female, the same age as Kai. She held a red umbrella in her hands, shielding her body from the rain. Her long black hair was tied into a messy bun, and her sapphire orbs pierced into his crimson eyes. Her facial features were almost angelic in Kai's opinion, yet they had enough coldness in them that she seemed authoritive as well. The girl wore a red shirt that hugged her in all the right areas, and made her irresistible to any man. She also had on tight black jeans and black runners. She wore a white trench coat to guard her body from the coldness of the rain, as well as black gloves. "What's your name?" He asked again. Her beautiful eyes grew wide in shock.
That's him. I heard rumors he was here, but I never thought they were actually true. Tears wanted to fall down, but she had more emotional control than that.
"I'm…Mia" She finally said, trying to put on a fake smile. "What about you?" She asked, pretending not to know already.
"My name is Kai. It's a pleasure." Since when did I become so nice? She's just a girl. "So what are you doing out here in the rain?" He asked, trying to start up a conversation.
"I'm just heading home after going to…a friend's place." She explained, stumbling over her words. You don't remember me at all, do you? But you at least deserve to know my friend. Your family. Should I…no. I shouldn't tell him about our past together. He's happy now. I don't want to take his happiness away. He's a started a new life…without me. The thought disappointed her, but she could cope.
The wind from the rain grew and Mia's coat flew in the wind. Kai noticed something at her side, and he suddenly became very curious.
"That dagger, it's just like mine." He said as he pulled it out.
Why does he have it? Last time I saw it, Kai's dagger was in the weapon's cupboard right next to mine. Unless…Daryl must have given it to him. Mia gave out a frustrating sigh that didn't go unnoticed by Kai. Note to self, kill my stupid brother when he gets back.
"Oh, it's probably just a coincidence. Don't give any thought to it." She said, hoping Kai would buy it. Kai didn't buy it though, and he opened his mouth to say something.
"Kai!" He heard. "Where are you?" Kai looked around and saw two figures running towards him. He turned around to see Mia again, but she was gone.
"Kai! We've been looking everywhere for you! Where've you been? We were worried." Kai looked up to see Brooklyn and Garland running towards him. They both had umbrellas and Kai was just standing there in the rain.
"Didn't you see someone else here?" He asked the two. They both held confused expressions. "Nevermind." He finished.
As they walked back, he wondered who the girl was. He kept on thinking about her, and those sapphire eyes that glistened in the light like an angel. He had seen those eyes before, but where?
She knows something about my past. What could she possibly know? Kai thought inwardly. Brooklyn and Garland looked at each other when they saw the expression on Kai's face, and they knew not ask questions.
I know her, I know I do. Where have I seen that face, those eyes? Where? Kai thought. The question was mind numbing. He had never felt this before. He had to see her again. But in this huge city, there was no way to track her down. If only he hadn't been distracted, maybe he would've gotten some answers about his past, but it was too late now.
They met back with the others at the hotel and Kai was greeted by all his friends. He ignored every one of them and headed off to his room.
"Kai, what's wrong?" Ray asked, concerned for him. Kai looked back and he gave a glare to Ray. Brooklyn and Garland shook their heads at everyone, cueing them not to say anything else. Kai ignored them and he walked into his room and slammed the door shut, not wanting any intrusions.
