Alright guys, 30 minutes til Saturday is over and I'm finally updating ROFL! Technically, I'm still updating on Saturday so I did live up to my promise! So take that!

IMPORTANT: I'm getting a bit dissappointed at the number of reviews I'm getting for this. I've now had over 1000 hits on this story and only 29 reviews out of that 1000. So I'm sorry to say this, but I want more reviews for this chapter this time. I'll see if I can get 10 reviews for this before I update next time. Until then, I won't be updating. It's just weird how I see other Beyblade authors have about 20 reviews per chapter and I only get about 5 or 6. Well, thank you so much to my current loyal reviewers! You guys rock!

R&R PLZ!

Chapter 8: Origins Part II

"Father…" Mia whispered. Everyone stared at the twins wide eyed. "How would you know our father?" Mia shouted.

"I'm surprised you haven't figured it out already. Especially since you're the perfect child that everyone spoke so fondly of." Dante mocked. Mia growled angrily at the man.

"We trusted you. What happened to you?" Kaya asked.

"What happened? Nothing. I've never actually helped you in the past. All I gave you were hollow leads that pointed you in the wrong direction. Well, at least I won't do it again." His last sentence was only heard by Mia. Her eyebrow raised in confusion, wondering what he meant. "Why you trusted me in the first place is beyond my knowledge." He pretended to ponder on his question. He then gave out a smirk and looked directly at Kai. "Do you know why I was at that ball in the first place? I'm not even in your grandfather's company." He spoke to Kai. He walked over towards the door and pushed a button to open it. The door slid open and inside revealed a dark room with a metal machine in the center. Above, Mia could see a large window looking into the lab.

This was the place in my dream… Mia thought.

"So it was an act all along." Mia said, looking down. "Who are you, really?"

He ignored the question and proceeded into the room. He turned on the lights which triggered something in the twins' memory. He looked back at the teens and grinned. Everyone cautiously entered the room. Mia sneered which caught the attention of her friends.

"Not this place again." She said, barely audible. "What are you trying to do? Daryl and I already know everything about our parents. We know every-"

"No you don't, you silly child." Dante interrupted. "The head scientist, Evan Vialetti. The greatest genetics engineer known to man. Your father." He finished. Mia and Daryl looked angrier than ever.

"I guess…we really haven't told you guys everything. Not even Kaya or Kai." Mia admitted. Daryl stood by her side and put a hand on her shoulder for assurance while she looked down. The teens stared at the three in front of them.

"Do you know the reason why Mia and Daryl are so desperate to find Draconian?" Dante asked while mocking the twins.

"So it won't fall into the wrong hands. So we can find a guardian to protect it." Kaya managed to speak out. All Dante did was laugh manically after he heard what she had said.

"So that's what they've been telling you, huh? I thought you were better liars than that, twins." He smirked.

"I…we…we…" Mia sputtered out.

"Your father wanted to create the perfect child. When his wife, Shannon Vialetti was pregnant with twins, he extracted one of the babies early at the embryonic stage." Dante said. "You see, the mother's womb was the main reason why some humans turned out…imperfect. So they created a mechanical womb, one where they could control all aspects of the child's environment, and so they could manipulate all of the child's capabilities to their own liking."

"How do you know all that?" Daryl asked with sheer cruelty in his voice. Dante ignored the question and returned to his impromptu speech. With a malevolent smirk, he continued.

"Nine months later, her twin brother was born out his mother's womb instead of the mechanical one that she was so used to. However, he came out completely defective."

--Flashback—

"What's wrong with him? What's wrong with my baby?" She cried out, tears formed in her eyes.

"I'm so sorry ma'am, but I'm afraid we're too late." The nurse said solemnly. "His internal organs should function properly, but his blood isn't circulating through the body. His heart is failing. When Dr. Vialetti extracted his twin, he must have somehow damaged his heart."

More tears escaped her silver orbs at what she heard. This couldn't be happening…

--End Flashback—

"Dr. Vialetti then created a body for the deficient child. After all, it was his fault that his son's heart failed. But now he isn't even human. His body isn't even real. He's just a lifeless soul trapped in a piece of material that just so happens to hold his functioning organs."

"Shut up! Daryl's as human as they come!" Mia shouted. Barely able to control herself, she raced towards him and punched him in the face. Dante flew back and landed on his back, wiping the blood spewing from his mouth. He continued to hold that same malicious smirk.

"If that's really what you believe. Then why do you want Draconian so badly? I know your real intensions. You want to use that bit beast's power in order to give Daryl a real body again. And now after you've lost your limbs, you want to get your arm and leg back. Am I right?" He scoffed.

Mia looked away from him and everyone else, and clenched her fists. The rest of the Bladebreakers and everyone else didn't know what to say. After all, they only wanted the power of Draconian for themselves. It was just like how Voltaire and Dr. Zagart wanted the power of the four sacred bit beasts for themselves.

"But it's easier for you. You were a successful project. But you're not human either." Dante said. "You should be thankful. Humans are such weak souls. They are the most arrogant and selfish beings in this world, and don't deserve to live."

"And what makes you such a God?" Kai retorted, finally speaking up for the first time. He stood to the right of Mia and Daryl, and Kaya followed him and stood to the left of the twins. They both glared at him, making him want to laugh.

"I am the only one who has the right to judge all of mankind in its weakness." He laughed. "I can't believe you haven't noticed the resemblance yet. I am he, that foolish man. Voltaire Hiwatari, but I am merely his defective clone."

"You're mad. What kind of crazy story is that?" Kai yelled. Although once he really looked at the man, there was a resemblance between him and his grandfather.

"Your grandfather was and is such a foolish man."

--Flashback—

"I can't do that! Cloning's illegal." Dr. Vialetti protested. The man in front of him stared at him blankly.

"And so are the two projects you created. When word gets out of their…birth, the news will spread all across the media. The government will surely want to take them in to 'examine' them, if you know what I mean." He argued back. His long silver hair neatly brushed, and his eyes even more threatening than before.

"This is blackmail." The doctor stated.

"Even so, it still works."

"Are you sure that's really me?" Voltaire looked at the baby with non-believing eyes.

"We tried our best to reproduce your genetics in every way possible. However…" He wasn't sure how to say it, and he stopped in mid-sentence much to Voltaire's disappointment.

"Spit it out doctor!" Voltaire ordered harshly. Dr. Evan Vialetti let out a heavy breath, and he continued with the explanation.

"His aging is blundered. He's going to age twice as fast as any other human. But we can give him medication to keep it under control. Otherwise he's going to turn from a baby to an old man in merely a day." He explained. Voltaire clenched his fists but gave in nevertheless.

"Very well then. He can still be my heir, even though his life will be short lived. Why should that filthy woman's child be my heir?"

--End Flashback—

"He hated me that much that he was desperate enough to create a clone of himself." Kai pondered aloud. "Then tell me, why aren't you doing his dirty work right now?"

"I have been dear boy, ever since day one. At the ball when you lost your memory, how do you think that liger bit beast managed to get through the entire city without being noticed?" Without letting the group wonder about the question, he answered it himself. "Because I brought him to the ball under your grandfather's command. The liger specifically targeted you and Mia, why? Because we wanted to get rid of Mia. The perfect child would definitely prove a challenge in the future. So we might as well get rid of her at a young age when she is at her weakest. Those were the words of your grandfather."

"On the train when Kai and I first met." Mia suddenly said, realization dawning upon her. "You were the man who said you knew my father. You were the Commanding Officer that told the guard it was ok for me to be on that train by myself, weren't you?" Mia said with wide eyes. Dante simply smirked.

"Well aren't you the clever one? I was also the one who arranged for those terrorists onboard without a proper check-up. Otherwise, they wouldn't have been able to board the train with those guns."

This couldn't be happening to her. All the images flashed back in her mind, and Dante was behind every spec of misery she had to endure. God really does hate me, doesn't he? I don't blame him though. I go against everything nature intended, and I don't even belong in this world. Every time I manage to grasp happiness in my hands, God just spits at me and kicks me in the shin, making me fall again.

"Everything's your fault. You're the one to blame for everything terrible happening to us." Mia said as she clasped her hands together. "You bastard. You don't even deserve to go to hell." Putting her hands outstretched and in front of her, she was able to manipulate Dante through the air.

"What's going on?" He yelled frantically while he floated in the air, unable to control his own body.

"Did you know that the average adult human body is made of mostly water?" She said with a harsh tone. At that single phrase, everyone knew how she could control Dante. "Any skillful person would be able to tear apart human flesh with that knowledge." She said.

"You're not…" Kaya asked, shocked at what Mia was about to do.

"I'm not." Mia let him down onto the ground again as he panted from the near death situation. "I've never killed a person in my life, and I'm not about to." Everyone sighed in relief.

"You should have killed me right now. You have no idea what other plans I have in store for you my dear child." Dante said with that annoying smirk. He ran past the entire group and left the sealed portion of the Catacombs. Mia let him go without any hesitation, knowing that one day, his death would finally come. She dropped to her knees and looked down at the ground. She couldn't believe it.

When Mia's thoughts finally cleared, she stood up again and faced the rest of the teens with a determined expression.

"Let's go." Mia said as she raced after Dante. Everyone was shocked at the sudden gesture but they followed her anyways. "If I know Dante, he's planning on burying us alive." She stated. She was right. The building started to collapse, and bits of rock were falling on the teens. They ran faster until they finally reached the main part of the Catacombs. As they all panted after running so hard, Mia looked around, and Dante was no where to be seen.

"No way!" Rick yelled.

"For once I actually agree with Rick." Tyson said. "They're just like Voltaire and Dr. Zagart. All they want is to use Draconian for their own reasons. I don't know why we asked them to come with us in the first place. But they're not staying anymore." He said with a knowing voice.

"But if you were in that situation. And you found out there was a way to restore your body, wouldn't you do the same thing, Tyson?" Hilary asked softly. She was no longer loud mouthing him like before, but instead she was dead serious about the conversation they were having. Mia and Daryl were out of earshot as the entire group had the discussion back at the hotel. They decided that Kaya should join them because Mia and Daryl never told her about their real reason either.

"But…oh come on Hilary. Why do you always have to be against me?" Tyson asked in an irritated voice.

"It's not like I try my hardest to. But why don't you use that thick skull of yours for once and think about this without jumping to conclusions! Daryl doesn't have a real body and he's hardly human. Mia has a metal arm and leg that gives her so much trouble. Haven't you ever wondered what it was like to have a metal arm and leg? It's not as cool as you think." Hilary protested. Tyson thought back to the train and when everyone started gossiping about her metal arm. Yes…it was hard to go through that every day of your life.

"They're like Zeo and Dr. Zagart. They didn't have a selfish reason and we still understood them." Ray said in an understanding voice.

"But we made them realize that Zeo was as human as they could come because he has a heart. He has feelings!" Tyson yelled. "And I'm pretty sure Daryl feels emotions too." He added.

"What do you think, Kai?" Max asked the teen. He had said nothing during the entire conversation, which wasn't too unusual. But the fact that he was staring off into space with eyes that were about to shed tears was unusual.

"I…I don't know." Kai simply stated. Silence filled the air as everyone thought about their final decision. After a long while, Kai finally spoke up. "How do they do it? Walk forward…keep living?" He asked barely audible to everyone's ears.

It was only in the afternoon. She sat there, not knowing what to do, and her brother sat right beside her feeling as helpless as ever. Mia looked out the window. The sun was shining brightly into the sky, and puffy clouds could be seen, almost making it look like a heaven. Once in a while, birds would fly past the window singing its song. People rushed along the busy streets of Paris, and all the noises of the city could be heard. The scent of luxurious French cuisines reached Mia's nose through the window as she looked at the bakery across of the street from the hotel.

Mia sat up from the room that the girls shared. Daryl eyed her with curiosity and knew right away what she was up to. He let her leave without any resistance and she walked quietly through the halls. Once she reached the Bladebreaker's room, she pressed her ear against the door so she could hear what their decision was. She listened to them arguing back and forth with no end in sight. One word stood out and grabbed her attention once again. Kai's name. She listened for his answer, wondering what he could be thinking.

"I…I don't know." He had said. Mia gave out a heavy sigh and left. She headed back where her brother was, and sat down again.

It was obvious what they had to do. She knew that she would bring so many troubles to Kai again. But at least now he was with Kaya, and now he knew he still had family who cared for him. She mentally kicked herself for what she had done. She knew that telling Kai the truth was wrong, but she still did it anyways. It was a mistake, and now they all paid for the price of that one single mistake.

They had lied to them. Lied to Kaya, and lied to Kai. They were such fools. She didn't have to hear the group's decision, because she had already made one herself. And her brother would be behind her all the way.

Mia heard footsteps coming towards their room. The twins got up and their eyes shot towards the door. To their relief, Kaya walked into the room. She had slipped away after a while to see how they were doing. Kaya looked into the eyes of both Mia and Daryl, knowing that sparkle all too well.

"Brother will be sad. Everyone will." Kaya managed to say. Mia only smiled back at the pink haired girl. "I'll come too." She said afterwards.

"No you won't. You stay here with your brother. This is where you belong, with family. We don't fit in here Kaya, but you do." Mia told her. Kaya turned her back to the twins, and she headed back towards the Bladebreaker's suit.

Mia and Daryl took the opportunity to pack their belongings, as little as they were. Mia took out a small, crumpled up piece of paper and read its contents. This time, she was sure it wasn't a lie. She nodded to Daryl, and they left, knowing what they had to do this time.

"Hey Kaya. You can tell Mia and Daryl to come back in now, our decision is yes. We understand the pain they've had to go through and we don't want to make any assumptions about them." Ray explained happily. Kaya's expression made him frown though. "What's wrong?" He asked, obviously concerned for the distraught girl.

"They're gone." She said simply.

"What do you mean gone? They can't be gone!" Tyson shouted furiously. Kai pushed everyone aside and ran towards the girls' room. Once he was there, he could see a piece of paper lying on the table in their living room. He grabbed the helpless piece of paper and read its contents. By now everyone was in the room and was looking over Kai's shoulder trying to read the letter.

Dear Bladebreakers and Friends,

We're sorry for leaving in such short notice. We realize that what we've done was wrong, and we apologize for everything we may have done to hurt any of you. This was our decision, and it's ok because this is what we wanted. We understand if you'll never trust us again, we don't blame you. After all the lies we've told you, it's reasonable if you hate us. Take care, and don't try to find us.

Mia and Daryl

Kai crumpled the letter into a ball and threw it into the trash. Not giving the others a chance to say anything, he stormed out of the room.

"Wait…" Before Ray could call after his friend, he was already out the door. Ray looked at the others who all had the look of shock or confusion written across their faces. "I wonder…where could they have gone?" Ray pondered aloud. Everyone was asking the same exact question.

"I guess I forgot to mention this earlier. I spoke with Enrique through e-mail. He says he's looking forward to seeing us in Italy." Kenny spoke. This only had Tyson fuming even more.

"How can we go to Italy in this situation? We have to cancel." Tyson said with a knowing voice.

"And then where do we go? Back home to Japan or whatever country we come from? For all we know Mia and Daryl could've even gone to Italy. We have no clue where they went." Garland spoke, and at that moment everyone silently agreed on trying to find the twins. Even if they didn't want to be found, they were going to be found whether they liked it or not.
