Back at Team Rocket Headquarters:
Jessie and James were allowed to grab some of their pokemon to help them with their mission.
Jessie kept Wobbuffet with her, Yanmega, Gourgeist, Seviper, and went to Alola to get Mimikyu's help.
James got Mareanie when they went to Alola and brought Carnivine, Inkay, Yamask, and Morpeko.
As they made their way to Viridain City on foot to not catch attention with their meowth air balloon, all of them remembered their times when they first met Ash and co. when they had Arbok and Weezing. They were an ekans and koffing back then but evolved later. They wondered how they were fairing against the poachers after them back in Hoenn. They missed them so much they could swear they could hear them calling out to them.
Meowth turned around with hearing some pokemon call out his names and gasped when he saw his old allies, Arbok and Weezing. "Jessie! James! Look!"
They turned around and beamed, actually seeing Arbok and Weezing. Jessie and James went to hug their pokemon.
"Arbok! It's so good to see you again!" Jessie shouted.
Arbok happily smiled with a, "chaarr" and nuzzled Jessie.
"How on earth did you two get here? What about the poocher?" James asked.
Weezing went to explaining.
"That's great! Riko got arrested by Officer Jenny and the koffing and ekans have grown strong enough to hold their own!" Meowth shouted.
Jessie and James laughed.
"Serves him right," Jessie said.
Arbok did some explaining.
"Oh, you two wanted to return to us, so you came back here with help of a Lapras who was grateful for your help dealing with some poachers? Very nice of them!" Meowth said.
Jessie smiled. "Well, we are so glad you've returned to us!"
"We worried so much about you!" James said.
"Yes, and we are tasked with an important mission that we wouldn't be able to complete without your help!"
Wezzing and Arbok smirked and nodded at them.
"Stop straggling behind!" Matori snapped.
Jessie glared at her with an irritated look. "We are coming!"
"No. You're standing just standing there. Honestly, Giovanni shouldn't even waste his time with you three with how much you've screwed things up! Why he didn't just eliminate you all is beyond me."
The three started sweating.
"Anyways, hurry up and MOVE before the sun sets. We have a lot of work to do." Matori walked off.
Jessie growled at her with clenched fist. It annoyed her Matori was made an admin for a couple lucky breaks, and even worse she was the one in change of them.
"Come on, Jessie! We should move before she can convince Giovanni to… you know," James said as he quickly rushed to the city after returning Weezing.
"Right…" Jessie put a pokeball up to return Arbok and walked along with her arms crossed.
Danny POV:
It was nighttime and Danny couldn't sleep again. He went out of the pokecenter and sat under the tree not too far away from the center to look at the sky. There was still nothing going to say if his Pikachu will be able to battle again or not but Nurse Joy and her chansey have been working hard operating on him.
Pikachu ran up to him with a worried look and asked if he was okay.
Danny starred at him with a shocked look before he realized who it really was. "Right, you're… Cesar's Piakchu." He looked down with a frown. "Sorry if I worried you…"
Pikachu's ears went down as he frowned. "Pikapii…." He then nuzzled the side of his arm to comfort Danny.
Danny smiled as he petted the top of Pikachu's head as he starred at the sky.
Meanwhile with Jessie, James, and Meowth:
They arrived at Viridian City and they got into a motel and were in Matori's room as she explained things.
"Alright, so you'll need to quietly search the city and see if you could see Ash here. Your shift is up at 6AM and may be relocated if necessary. Do NOT disturb me unless you get some information on where he is, understood?"
"Understood!" James and Meowth shouted.
Jessie glared at her with clenched fists. She knows bob cut glasses goon forced them to do the worst shift as she gets to snooze the night away and doing that after they traveled on foot all day. "How dare she take away from my beauty sleep!" she thought to herself.
"Jessie!" Matori shouted.
"What?" Jessie snapped.
"… Well, I'm not repeating myself, so if you didn't get it, your teammates will have to fill you in."
"I got it…!"
"Then MOVE OUT!"
James quickly left as Meowth and Jessie walked out.
Jessie crossed her arms and growled. "The nerve…!"
"Be careful, Jessie! She could still hear you…" James said with a worried look.
Jessie pulled part of her eye down and stick her tongue out at Matori's door.
James started panicking.
Meowth sighed. "Come on you two. We got to get to lookin."
"That's right."
They turned around and saw a bunch of Team Rainbow grunts behind them.
"It stinks we have to babysit these incompetent morons, so they won't screw up," one grunt whispered to another.
"I'm in charge of this group. You'd listen to me, or there's going to be trouble. Let's go," a guy said.
They nodded with an unhappy look as they followed the grunts.
The group went outside and looked around to try and find Ash.
"This is hopeless. How do we know that the twerp is even here?" Jessie said.
"Well, it was reported that they heavily injured Ash and the pokemon he had with him, so he couldn't gone far from where they last saw him…" James stated.
"Well then, he's likely died by the injuries if he hasn't been found by now!"
Meowth's ears perked up as he heard a familiar voice. He turned his head and saw none other than the Pikachu he's buried, then screamed.
"What is it Meowth?" Jessie asked.
Meowth pointed to what he was looking at. "It's… it's Pikachu!"
"Meowth, we aren't swiping pokemon for the boss anymore. We have to look for…"
"You dunderhead! Do you not get what I'm saying? That's the pokemon that we've for years been trying to nab!"
Jessie and James gave a surprised look, noticed the guy the Pikachu was with was wrapped up and gasped.
"What are you idiots going on about? Remember, I'm in charge!" the guy snapped.
They all glared at him with an annoyed look.
"I guess… we should report to the others?" James whispered.
"No way! Like I want that bob cut glasses goon to get more credit for what she didn't do!" Jessie whispered back.
Meowth looked down with a sad look. "And… I wouldn't want to see the boss do something terrible to Pikachu again…"
"So… we do nothing?" James asked.
"But if we do nothin… he could mess things up for us, and if the boss found out we didn't do anything…" Meowth started. "Also, Matori could at least put in a good name for us if we find him for her…"
They all looked over to them again.
Meowth teared up with a smile. "It's so good… to see Pikachu alive and well."
Jessie and James smiled.
"Yeah… It's good to see that he somehow made it as well," James said.
"What are you all doing? This is no time to be standing around chatting!" the one in charge shouted.
The all looked at him with a panicked look.
"We are just… discussing the best way to search the area!" James said.
"We already went over that! Just keep an eye out!" He then noticed the person and pikachu the three saw. "Hey, we should ask him if he seen Ash recently…" He walked over to him.
Jessie, James, and Meowth started panicking.
"Hey look! Was that Ash running over that way?" Meowth pointed in a direction away from where he was heading.
"Where?" the guy asked.
"… Oh yes! I think I just saw him now before he disappeared into the darkness!" James shouted.
"Everyone, we need to head out! Now!"
The group minus Jessie, James, and Meowth dashed off to where Meowth had pointed.
"Who's the idiot now?" James mocked.
They all looked back to where they saw the pikachu and man and saw him and the trainer nervously walking away.
Jessie, James, and Meowth ran up to them and hugged Pikachu and Ash.
Back with Danny:
Danny has heard the group was searching for him. He gave a closer look and recognized the dress style of trench coats, hats, and sunglasses. "This is bad…" he whispered to Pikachu. Once he saw one of them seemingly mistakenly see him, he quietly got up with Pikachu behind him, but got suddenly grabbed. He screamed.
"Twerp! You're okay!" a woman said.
"We are so sorry!" a man said.
"It was so wrong what we done!" a meowth shouted.
Danny looked at the three with a confused look as he could barely see their faces. "Huh, they're… crying? And are concerned and apologetic?" he wondered.
Pikachu Thunderbolted everyone and they fell to the ground and the trio lost their hats and sunglasses. Pikachu glared at Jessie, James, and Meowth. Then he noticed he shocked Danny and apologized.
Suddenly a bunch of pokemon surrounded Jessie, James, and Meowth along with their trainers, and the three of them screamed and held onto each other when they noticed all of them.
"Danny, you alright?" Cesar asked. Everyone had heard him scream and quickly ran out to see what happened and they all saw Pikachu attack and Jessie, James and Meowth.
Danny nodded, then looked over at Jessie, James, and Meowth with an unsure look.
