The Seal of Pendragon (Intro) by frostygossamer

Introduction: Sam loses Dean... again

The Impala draws up outside the abandoned Kansas hotel, white paint peeling, window-frames hanging awry, front-porch overgrown.

Dean squints. "Looks like the right place, dude."

The brothers get out of the car and load up their shotguns.

"This is gonna be quick. He's on his own," Dean whispers.

"I'll go round the back," Sam suggests. Dean nods.

The front door hangs off its hinges. Inside the building is derelict, decayed curtains falling in tatters. Dean holds his gun in front of his face FBI-style as he checks out each room in turn. A scuffle behind him, turning he sees his brother's face in the shadows. He nods and points towards the kitchen, Sam nods and follows.

The kitchen looks empty but the pantry door is standing ajar. Dean flings the door wide to reveal a craven figure huddled within.

"Out!" Dean snarls. The figure obliges reluctantly.

"Get some rope, Sam!" Sam disappears outside.

"Give me a chance to explain," the figure stammers. "It's not my fault. I didn't mean to kill those people. Something in my head told me to do it."

"Somethin' In your freakin' blood you mean," snaps Dean. "Face it. You're not human. You're a monster pretending to be a man, and we're here to put that monster down."

The monster changes tack, realising that pity isn't forthcoming from this guy.

"You're gonna be sorry you came here," he cackles. "I'm not finished yet. I have one last trick up my sleeve."

"Oh yeah, and what's that assface," Dean asks suspiciously. He gives a nervous glance over he shoulder. "Where's Sam gotten to?"

The monster fishes in his breast pocket and takes out a 2-inch disk of some red material covered with symbols or words.

Before Dean can stop him he throws the disk on the floor and crushes it with his heal, muttering something in Latin.

There's a flash of green, swirling light and Dean pops out of existence like he's never been there. Sam runs into the room just as Dean's shotgun hits the linoleum.

"What the hell have you done with my brother?" Sam shouts.

A/N: For the rest of this story see Merlin/Supernatural Crossovers 'The Seal of Pendragon'.

A/N: If you don't know Merlin (BBC) it's a sweet fantasy show about King Arthur, Merlin and the gang when they were 20-somethings. That's probably all you need to know to make sense of this. I recommend the show.
