Hello lovely readers

Thank you so much for the reviews on the last chapter. I'm so glad you're all still enjoying these prompts and little Shamy stories. It really means a lot.

This prompt was requested by ShamyFan. I really hope this is okay, I ended up googling lots of ways and settled for this one as I thought it was very appropriate for Sheldon.

I hope you all enjoy reading.

Amy's hands were shaking so much, her fingers wouldn't cooperate and do the simple task of picking up the plastic stick that was lying on the bathroom side. One little stick, in one little second could completely change her life.

She wanted this. More than anything she wanted this but she was worried this was just all a little too soon, they hadn't been trying for long. Amy would argue that they hadn't really been properly trying at all. There were no prenatal vitamins, no ovulation tracking and no mad rush to have Sheldon there and then because they had such a small window.

Six weeks ago when she had made the decision to come off the pill, she didn't think she'd be here, not just yet. She wondered whether they were ready for this. Had they really thought it all through? Had they really taken into account how much hard work a baby was? How their whole life would change, how the demands and pressure of what they saw as their perfect little relationship would well and truly be flipped upside down. Was this just all rushed because she had acted on instinct and that desperate urge that was building up inside of her to have a baby?

Finally plucking up the courage, her trembling fingers steadied themselves enough for her to pick up the test. There was no question about it, no doubting whether it was clear enough, two blue lines greeted. In that moment, her heart felt like it could burst and tears stung her eyes. She was pregnant. She was having a baby. They were having a baby. All those thoughts and feelings she felt before didn't matter, she simply didn't care. She was having a baby and she wanted that more than anything in the world.

It really hadn't been Amy's intention to spend the morning taking pregnancy tests but she had to be absolutely sure. One simply wasn't good enough. She had drank more water, fruit juices and coffee than she ever had in her life but after the seventh positive pregnancy test, she deemed that seven was supposed to be a lucky number, she finally decided to stop.

They all confirmed the same thing. She was absolutely, definitely, one hundred percent pregnant. A hour had already passed by and in that time Amy wasn't entirely sure what she had been doing or where the time had gone.

A tiny little baby lying on her chest, the first smile and laugh, the first words and steps, the first I love you. Summers in the park and winter snuggles in bed. Her thoughts had been consumed by her future, their future together as a little family of three. Yet there was still one very important person that had no idea what their future was about to become. Sheldon.

She had thought about this moment a lot. She had gone over all of the different ways she could tell him, never really knowing whether she would have the opportunity to put it in to action. Maybe she was overthinking it, but she wanted this moment to be special, a memory to treasure. She knew already that they wanted more than one child but would they be lucky enough, would she ever get this chance again.

After a quick google search, which led her to various website she found inspiration in the most perfect way. It really couldn't have been more tailored and suited to the man she loved. A small wooden box with a pair of tiny Flash booties inside. Her heart melted there and then, the shoes were so small, she couldn't believe someone had feet and tiny toes small enough to fit inside them. Once opened, the lid read: 'Every superhero needs their own little sidekick'. That thought alone of Sheldon and his tiny little sidekick, his little double doing absolutely everything together, was enough to make her cry.

The rest of the day was spent on the hunt for tiny Flash booties. It had been quite the mission, travelling across town visiting various comic book and dressing up stores, she figured the traditional baby stores, which she couldn't wait to step into and awe over the tiny garments, wouldn't quite stock what she was after. When all hope was nearly lost, she finally found them. They weren't quite newborn, nor were they as shiny as they were in the picture she had her heart set on but they were here and they would certainly get the job done.

Feeling rather proud of herself, Amy sat back on the couch admiring her work as she waited for Sheldon to return home. She had found an old wooden box, which long ago probably contained a gift that one of them had received, little did Amy know it would come in handy for a moment like this. She replicated what she had seen online and after finding some left over paper from Leonard's birthday a few months ago, decided to wrap the gift.

Shuffling on the couch to get comfortable, she had to resist the urge indulge in a glass of wine. That was always something she did in the evening, whether it be over dinner or simply to relax and unwind. It was a habit that for the foreseeable would have to be put on hold. She was itching with excitement, no matter what his plans were, it had to be the first thing they did together when he returned, she was bursting to tell someone and didn't quite know how long she could be around him without keeping it a secret.

Eventually, she decided to read in the hope of taking her mind off of things however, that didn't help. A baby soon appeared in her book and all she could think about was her very own, the tiny little life growing inside of her that she already loved more than anything in the world. It was a feeling no one could prepare you for, in a matter of hours her whole life and future prospects had completely changed.

The click of the door opening, brought her attention back to reality and the fact that she had been zoned out for longer than she had realised. There he stood, her husband, the father of her child, it was like she was seeing him in a whole new light. As he fumbled with his bag and closing the door, she realised that although she thought it was impossible, she loved him a whole lot more.

"Hello" he finally stopped to greet his wife.

"Hi, good day?" she asked, welcoming his scent, the slightly faded smell of baby powder, as he gently lowered himself to kiss her cheek.

He nodded. "Still working on proving that string theory better unites quantum mechanics with general relativity than loop quantum.." often it took quite a lot to distract Sheldon from the rambles of his work but the gift, neatly wrapped and sat proudly in the middle of their coffee table did just that. "What's this?" he asked, gesturing to the present.

"Why don't you open it and find out" she was grinning like a Cheshire Cat already.

"Okay" he dragged out the word, aware that something was going on but not at all sure exactly what that was. He began slowly peeling back the paper, like with everything he was neat and methodical, even when it came to unwrapping gifts. He looked at her questioningly when he saw it was just a wooden box.

"Open it" she urged. She held her breath as he slowly lifted the lid, she watched his face carefully for any hint of emotion as he took in the tiny shoes and read the note stuck to the lid.

"Who is this from?" he asked, examining the box a little more closely. The thought that this could be Amy's was so far from his mind. "Is this how Georgie tells me I'm going to be an uncle?" he laughed, his older brother was yet to have any children of his own despite always having a string of girlfriends where nothing ever amounted to anything serious. "Oh god, it's not Missy is it? She can't be having another one," he exclaimed, after three children surely she deemed that more than enough.

"Maybe this might help" Amy now presented him with a small rectangular box where she had kept all seven of her positive tests. Not that he would dispute the fact she was pregnant but he, like her, was meticulous and would need some definitive proof, just to be absolutely certain. Plus, it was a rather cute keep sake.

The box rattled as he opened it and just like with before Amy watched him closely for any reaction. If anything, right now he just looked confused as he stared wide eyed at the tests that greeted him.

"Are these positive?" he asked, checking against the markings on the side and examining the two blue lines. Amy still wasn't all that sure the penny had dropped. "I don't understand, why do you have positive pregnancy tests" for someone who was incredibly intelligent this was rather hard work.

"Sheldon, they're mine" she whispered leaning across to him. He whipped his head round, his eyes telling her he had a million questions but right now nothing was coming out of his mouth.

"But…but…that means you're…you're.."

"I'm pregnant, yes" she laughed at her husband who was usually so eloquent stumble over his words. There was silence for a moment as Amy watched him read the note a few more times, was he picturing his very own little sidekick just like she had been doing? He toyed with the booties, his fingers lifting them up and studying the material. He was processing everything, Amy knew it would take time but when the silence lasted longer than she had hoped for, she finally found herself speaking. "Sheldon, please say something" she reached out for his hand, relieved that he didn't back away. "I know this might be a little sooner than planned but I'm really happy.."

"Are you really sure about this?" he asked, his heart was thumping so fast and even now his brain couldn't still quite figure out how to respond to all of this. It was an incredible amount to deal with and although he felt extremely overwhelmed, the hand currently holding on to his was telling him that everything was going to be okay.

"Seven tests sure" her eyes darted down to the box he was still holding. "I know it's a lot" her thumb gently stroked over his hand, she wanted him to know it was okay to be scared because really when all of her happiness and excitement was pushed to one side all that was left was pure fear.

"It is a lot" he turned his body to face her. "It's happened so quickly."

"I know" she smiled. "But we both knew it was going to happen at some point it's just…."

"It's okay" Sheldon interrupted, cutting her off from saying anymore.

"Really?" she wiped her eyes, something about sharing the news with him and saying it all out loud caused her to cry yet again. "Because you were scaring me for a minute" she laughed.

"It's okay" he told her again, but also himself. He wondered if the more he said it, the more he would believe it. "I didn't mean to scare you."

"You're okay with this? You're happy?" that's all she wanted, for him to be happy.

"Yeah" he nodded. "Yeah, I really am. We're having a baby, Amy" he gave her hand a squeeze before turning his attention to the box and pulling out the booties. "You do realise this is just the start, we need to get the whole outfit."
