Omake: Haven't You Taken Enough?
by TheIronSoldier
Snow, there was so much Snow.
Moria could only lie in it, Lie in his pity. Lie in his Failure.
It had been going so well. Sailing through Wano Country was smooth sailing, so much so that the future pirate Warlord began to party with the rest of the Gecko Pirates.
It had been so sudden, one moment, the Gecko Pirates were having the time of their lives, the next, one of the scouts had seen someone, and the rest of the Pirates went to check it out.
That was until HE arrived.
Gecko Moria was not a holy man; he believed that the realms that dwelled above and below were just myths, something that wasn't real.
However, when he first saw the Giant, He swore that he saw the burning fires of Hell waiting to take him in.
In his foolish Pride, He challenged him and his small group of Pirates. Moria outnumbered them three to one, 36 against 12. There was no chance they would lose.
It was a massacre.
There was just so much blood, So much snow. His crew… His crew was dead. While he was battling against the Devil Himself, His crewmates fought his entourage.
They didn't last long. Death was a cruel mistress. He saw them being ripped apart by the people- no, Beasts flanked alongside him. While he fought, he could hear the screams they made, the screams of his only friends, Their sounds of pain fueled his drive, his strength.
But, it was futile. The Devil was toying with him, saw what made him break, and took advantage of it. One Haki blow to the stomach later, and Moria sprawled across the snowy grounds.
He could only watch as the demon approached, but just walked away, past him and the remains of his crew, took the Beasts with him, and walked back, back to the snowy hell of Wano.
Moria could only watch. Watch as the Devil's horns faded into the swirling blizzard, as they laughed at him, he... he felt powerless.
Alone.
Alone in a snowy Hell.
Shortly after the massacre, he drifted away into the sea, Hoping the seas would claim him and his Curse drag him down the ocean to die.
He never got his wish that day. Instead, he was found by the Marines. Specifically, it was Vice Admiral Garp who did. He did the only thing he could, turn himself in. After all, he had nothing to live for, so why not? At least execution was better mercy than death.
While holding, he heard Vice Admiral Garp Speak on one of the Transponder Snails on deck, after a while, Garp came back and explained what was going on.
Moria was to be declared a Warlord of the Seas.
Why? Hadn't the World taken enough from him? First, his crew. Now it was his freedom.
He didn't have a choice in the end. He accepted.
Warlord duties were tedious. In summary, a Warlord was to serve the World Government as a secondary part of the marines, to take in any. The Problem? He didn't have a crew anymore. That had been fun to explain to Sengoku.
Damn, damn that monster!
His teeth clenched at the thought of that Demon, his Horns, his size, everything went wrong when Moria met him! He just needed somewhere to start, and then he could get his revenge.
He sailed out with the marines that accompanied him. Moria sailed and sailed, finding nothing. Pirates who attacked him had their shadows ripped from them, and they burned away in the Sunlight, with him not caring about the consequences.
It wasn't until he accidentally wandered into the Sabaody Archipelago for a routine visit that he saw the young boy. Absalom, a young lad who had eaten the Clear-Clear Fruit, was running from a horde of marines chasing after him.
He didn't know why, but he intervened and took the young teen under his own. He couldn't deny that he was a pervert, but his antics reminded him of the good times; before the Devil swooped in and ruined his life.
Time passed again, and he met more people who joined him.
Perona, a young girl with the Hollow-Hollow fruit who joined on a whim after Moria blew up the island she lived on, and Doctor Hogback, a doctor with some... morally ambiguous reasons for his work, all joined under his wing. Perona was the closest thing he had to a navigator, and Hogback was his doctor.
It felt nice to have friends again.
He finally found a home, sure it was in the Floridian Triangle, but it was better than constantly moving around. With permission from the World Government, he set up camp on an abandoned island.
Using his Fruit, he brought the Island to life.
A few weeks later, Hogback presented an interesting idea, he talked about soldiers who would never die, ones who would follow orders to their last breath. Both he and Moria worked together on the idea, and, after a while, it was successful. All it took was one Shadow, a piece of someone, for it to work.
The Undead slowly became more common as the years went on, making Moria feel at peace for the first time in years.
With this army, Maybe he'd have a chance.
Years passed, and Moria let himself go. The once proud Pirate, now a former shell of himself, now fat, weak, and very paranoid.
There was more undead on the island than there had ever been. Maybe it was due to his growing paranoia, or if it was the desire to beat Kaido. Moria was unsure. He made sure to give the mad Doctor Free reign; Moria provided the shadows, and Hogback worked on the corpses. The same routine went on and on with each passing day, and Moria had to wonder, was this even enough?
He could only attack so many pirates before they all avoided the triangle, maybe civilians would work as well? Hogback did mention he needed more shadows for a special project of his. It was made to be the strongest warrior, one that could match the hell dragon himself.
Hogback also mentioned using the Shadow from that Skeleton that wandered onto the Island a year ago. He could only hope whatever Hogback was working on could be strong enough.
—
Thriller Bark was in Turmoil.
It was happening again. Two individuals had landed on the Island. Hogback sent Absalom to investigate, and he never came back. They then defeated Hogback and his entourage. Hogback called on his Transponder snail and informed Moria about the invaders, and they were beginning to head his way.
He sent Perona to deal with them, The General Zombies found her unconscious body near her castle, all her Hollows gone.
Damn it, Damn it, DAMN IT!
It wasn't happening again. There was no way HE would never dare set foot outside of Wano. It was just a coincidence. Right? Right!?
He went down the spiral staircase of his tower to meet these interlopes himself. Perhaps he could use their shadows for his own gain?
Then he paused, he then recalled something that the Doctor mentioned about these intruders.
"One of the Intruders was exceptionally strange, I've never seen horns that long on somebody before without uses of a Zoan Devil Fruit."
Horns.
One of the intruders had horns.
Was, was it a coincidence? No. No, it couldn't be. They must have a Devil fruit or some sort of Mutation.
The only horns he knew were from the Devil.
Moria knew he hadn't even left his Hell, HE was an Emperor, captain of the Beast Pirates.
At that moment, Moria felt a small layer of fear.
BANG!
The door to his castle blew open with a ferocious blast. Ice so cold it was black, formed around what remained of it.
"Hey! Are you Gecko Moria!"
He gazed over to the ones who had broken in and took a look at his new intruders.
Gazing at them, He could see that they were surprisingly young. One was a Boy, seemingly a young adult, with dark green hair. He wore a black and green lightly armored jumpsuit, had Metal Gauntlets, and was sparkling green. What remained of his Hoodie was, wait, were those bunny ears?
He could have sworn this was the one that Hogback spoke about, but what about the-
She had Horns.
Those same horns.
Snow. Blood. The laughter.
This figure was a young woman, Her long white hair tied behind her in a mock ponytail, rods of them being blue, while others have been dyed green.
She stood taller than he knew, and she showed a certain presence around herself.
Almost like…
No. NOnononononnono.
Her Horns, they were the same! It- it couldn't be!
HE came back!
Moria's growing dread only exploded when she showed off her Mace.
The same one, the same one that-
The screams of his crew. HIS Laughter. Those damn horns shining with blood.
She was saying something, not picking up the fact that Moria was slowly going into a panic attack. The boy didn't pick up what was going on, but got the girl's attention, distracted, she turned around.
He's back. No, No, Please no,
He worked So hard, So very hard,
His Friends, his Crew, His dreams,
They were all gone.
The Devil had taken them.
Taken them down to the bottom of the sea.
He would lose Everything again…
NO!
That was the last straw.
The king of beasts had already taken everything from him.
The Laughter grew, and grew,
The boy's eyes grew in horror, grabbing the girl by the arm and taking her in a bridal carry before dashing out to the remains of the castle before it exploded in darkness.
Laughter, More laughter, the Screams grew Louder.
It only occurred then that Moria was the one who was Laughing. His powers grew out of his control. Shadows began eating one another, all the ones he stole over the years, the ones he used to feel strong before, they all began to scream together, and his normal power felt different somehow.
He felt invincible.
He then turned to those horns yet again. The ones that were currently looking in a mixture of Awe and Horror.
He looked at the girl. Then his constantly smiling face turned into a snarl,
"Haven't you taken enough Kaido?" He whispered. Making sure the girl hears all the pain he went through.
The Girl's confused stare turned into one of horror. The boy's eyes narrowed before he pulled the girl out of the way from a black Fist heading towards her.
Shadows began to crawl everywhere, The Duo began to get into a battle stance. Moria did the same.
His snarl then became a demented smile.
This time, the Devil wasn't taking anything anymore.
