OMAKE: Alternate Wives 2

Amande

Awkward. A word that perfectly summed up the atmosphere for one Izuku Midoriya right now.

Well, awkward and scary. Why, you may ask? Because the tall, light bluenette in front of him was regarding him with an expression that could only be described as icy. The smell of tobacco coming from the cigarette sticking out of her mouth would have normally made the boy wrinkle his nose, but he dared not offend her, especially since one pale hand rested on the hilt of a sword tied to her (admittedly shapely) hip with a red sash.

This woman was 43, old enough to be his mother. Heck, she was older than his mother! And he was expected to marry her? What would people back home think, knowing such a thing? Would they call him a freak? Laugh at him? Both?

His thoughts were interrupted when the woman stubbed out the cigarette and dropped it. She then advanced on him slowly, her foot crushing the cigarette as she did so, yet Izuku didn't dare run away. Her straw hat had an extremely wide brim that quickly cast a shadow over him as she approached, her head inclining as she stopped mere inches before him.

In spite of his fear, Izuku could not deny that this woman, Charlotte Amande, was beautiful. Even her somewhat longer neck, large lips, and flat nose did not make her less attractive. If anything, they added to her cool beauty.

The hand clutching the sword hilt stopped doing so, and both hands were soon under his armpits and lifting him up. Soon they were at eye level with one another, the top of his bushy hair touching the brim of her hat.

"Why are you afraid?" she asked in a smooth, silky voice.

"I," he said, managing not to stammer. "I just figured you wouldn't want to go through with this." Wow, he really did have guts.

She cocked her head, and he immediately felt apprehensive. Had he said the wrong thing?

"Why would you think that?" she asked. Once again, her silky voice betrayed nothing.

"Well, the age difference, for one."

"Do you think I am incapable of bearing children?"

That... had not been what he expected. His fear vanished in favor of embarrassment.

"No!" he shrieked, shaking his head wildly. "I wasn't thinking that at all!"

A ghost of a smirk appeared on her face. "You needn't worry," she said. "If Mama can still bear children in her 60s, I certainly can, as well."

"I'm telling you, that's not the problem!" he cried, his face red.

"Do you think I have a problem with you personally?" she asked. There was a very small hint of amusement in her voice.

"Well, do you?" he asked.

She gave a small smile. When Izuku mentioned this later, many of his in-laws would express astonishment that he could have gotten that out of her.

"Of course not," she said airily. "Someone as small and cute as you is perfect." She then leaned forward, and Izuku's whole body turned red as she pressed her lips against his cheek.
