Never-Chapter 1

Summary: Alice, a sophomore at Forks High, hates change. So when her life takes an abrupt turn for the worst, she knows she has to do something. Will she get out of her rut, or live her life as the living dead?

"Ali..."

I groaned, rolling over.

"Alice..."

I waved my arm, motioning whoever it was away.

"Alice!"

I shot up. "What do you want, Cynthia?" I yelled at her, rubbing my eyes warily. I checked my alarm clock.

"And what are you doing up at 5: 41 in the morning? On a weekend?" I accused, turning to face her directly.

My little sister sat on the opposite side of my bed, staring intently at me. "Somebody has issues..."

I narrowed my eyes and frowned, laying back down onto my pillow. "I mean it. Get it out, or get out."

She held her hands up defensively. "Yeah, sure, okay. So... I heard the window creak open and slam shut this morning. Any chance you had something to do with that?"

There are five things that you should know about me; one-I am seventeen, two-I singlehandedly earned the award for worst driver of the year (at least it the county), three-I am the tiniest girl at Forks High (trust me, there is such a thing as too short, and 4'10" just don't cut it), four-I am a complete and utter failure at life (at least for the moment), and five-there are no such thing as 'boyfriends' in the world I live in.

I immediately sat back up. "If you so much as speak of it, I swear, you will wake up with dead fish in your bed the day after!" I threatened. She snickered.

"Believe me, if I wanted to tell, you would be in under a heat lamp right now. But then mom and dad would want to know why I myself was up at four in the morning," she thoroughly explained. I hid my relief and smiled smugly.

"And what was my favorite little sister doing that her concerned older sister should know about..." I teased.

Cynthia sighed. "Seth was over...please don't tell!"

I raised my eyebrow. "And you did what?"

"If I tell you, will you keep this just between us?" she asked anxiously. I nodded.

She took a deep breath. "We, uh...got together. Like together, together."

I smiled. "Not bad for a freshman...though do take precautions, please. I really do not need mom on my case yet again," I warned her.

She shrugged it off and rose off my bed. "Thanks, but I really should be getting back to bed."

After she left the room, I laid back down onto my pillow. Then I realized something-she didn't say he left.

I smiled as I drifted off to sleep.

That's my sis...

Review, no? Thanks! Virtual hugs and kisses for everyone!
