It was all so completely ridiculous. Stefan was a vampire. Damon was a vampire. Bonnie was a witch. The explanation was simple enough but impossible to wrap your head around. Elena shook her head in defiance. "Stefan, you can't expect me to keep this a secret."
"Why not, Elena?" Stefan sounded desperate. "You've kept Bonnie's secret."
"That's different!" Elena could feel herself growing angry. "I trust her not to hurt me, on purpose or by accident." She took a deep breath. "You're asking me too much, Stefan." She got up to leave but Stefan caught her by the wrist, his eyes pleading with hers.
"Please, Elena, I'm begging you. Help me."
