Chapter 90

Evening was settling in over the hangar as Colonel Steve Austin arrived with Jamie and Apollo for the after-hours briefing. As he pulled onto the airfield he spied the black Trans Am parked in the mouth of the hangar and Angus MacGyver's jeep sitting outside beside the gray and black panted van with the red stripe that belonged to B.A of the A-Team along with Ralph's car. He figured it was a good sign as all hands were on deck for the briefing.

Jamie sat in the passenger's side, "I see everyone is here." she noted.

Apollo sat in the back seat of the club cab and remarked, "Just hope Sam has found the Pegasus."

Jamie agreed, "I do too but I hope this is not too much on her. Those aliens gave her technology with no training or instructions on how to use it. I remember how difficult it was for me to get accustomed to my bionics. I had to learn to control it. I can't imagine dealing with highly advanced miniature robots in my entire body and in my brain."

Apollo assured, "If she has Kobol nanites she will be fine. Those nanites will protect her mind and body."

Steve had parked the truck and they soon emerged from the vehicle. They made their way into the hangar. They found the group had gathered near the break table by the offices and could smell the pot of coffee brewing and spied a tray of snacks.

Dom smiled, "Steve and Jamie are here." He then pondered how to address Apollo, "Along with the alien." he commented.

MacGyver looked up with a cup of coffee. His eyes settled on Apollo. He had to asked, "Is Lord Baltar your Count Baltar?"

He nodded and confirmed, "That's Count Baltar alright. I thought he recognized me so I went with the southern accent and said I was from Texas. I just hope he believed it."

MacGyver stated, "I think he bought it. I was just telling everyone how much more advanced Baltar's robots are. It's ahead of anything we have."

Sam spoke up, "It's ahead of what we have in 2022." She stood with a cup of coffee and a cinnamon roll in her hands.

Steve asked her, "Did you contact the Pegasus yet?"

She shook her head, "Not yet! I'll try again tonight. Just haven't been sleeping well."

Jamie asked, "Do you normally have coffee before bed?"

She nodded

"Might want to cut back then." she suggested.

"It never affected me before." she replied. "I can drink a pot of coffee and still go to sleep."

String suggested, "Switch to decaf."

She rebutted, "I'm just stressed out because of the Airwolf tape."

Steve asked, "Airwolf tape?"

Ralph Hinkley spoke up, "Sam brought her movie collection and DVD player into school to share with the class and over the break someone broke into the class and stole it. They made copies of a documentary that she made in her time about Airwolf and now it's being passed around. Many have seen it."

Michael Knight added, "I found the teachers watching it in the lounge. It has Sam and her parents on it explaining Airwolf. I got the tape but there is more than one tape floating around out there."

Caitlin added, "And the movies too. They made copies of the movies she had. Students have seen movies that have not been made yet. We do have some help on that end though. Three undercover narcotics officers are working with us to find the tapes. I also asked a couple of friends to stop by so we could get their help to. We need to contain this."

Steve asked, "Who?"

"Highway patrol officers. We can trust them!" she assured.

Michael asked, "John and Ponch?"

She grinned and nodded.

"We can trust them." he agreed.

The leader of the security team, Colonel Hannibal Smith stated, "I'm not too sure I'm alright with cops being brought in on this."

Michael assured, "We can trust them. They are friends of mine." He then confessed, "Of course they think I'm dead and my voice is still the same…" his eyes grew wide.

Caitlin suggested, "We just tell them. If they are going to help us recover the tapes they will need to know everything anyways."

In distance the roar of two motorcycles could be heard as the vehicles pulled onto the airfield.

Caitlin cheered, "Must be them!" She started for the mouth of the hangar.

KITT's voice came over Michael's watch. "Michael, two California Highway Patrol officers just arrived on motorcycles."

"I hear 'em, KITT." he replied. He too went to the mouth of the hangar with the audience in tow.

Two police motorcycles pulled up to the hangar entrance. The uniformed officers removed their helmets revealing their faces. One man was of Hispanic decent with dark hair. His partner had blonde hair and blue eyes. Both men were rather handsome.

The Hispanic officer, Francis "Ponch" Poncherello grinned at Caitlin. "Cait!" He rose to his feet and approached arms open wide and gave his former fellow officer a hug.

Caitlin grinned back, "Ponch!" She hugged him in return and then hugged the other partner, "Jon! It's so good to see you guys again."

Michael linger back unsure what to say to his former fellow officers who did not recognize him.

Offer Jonathon Andrew Baker greeted her with a warm smile and embrace, "Oh' Cait! How have you been?" He glanced at Ponch as both heard of a VHS tape that stated she was involved with some top secret chopper named Airwolf.

"I'm good." she assured her friend.

He stated, "I'm not too sure why you asked us here, Cait but me and Ponch need to speak to you about this tape going about some helicopter."

She asked, "The Airwolf tape?"

They both nodded wondering what their friend was involved in.

"That's why I asked you two here. But before we get to that I need to tell you something. Remember Michael Long?" she asked.

"How could we forget?" Jon stated. "Killed in the line of duty like that." he shook his head.

"He's not dead." she told them. "He was badly injured and rescued and underwent surgery that changed his appearance. He's been recruited to work for Knight Industries for a special project. He's here!" she told them.

The two officers looked around at the many faces surrounding them. One man spoke up.

"It's me, guys." Michael stated.

Both paused for the man sounded just like their friend but did not look like him.

He repeated, "Ponch! Jon! It's me. Michael."

Jon stated, "You sound just like, Michael."

"He does sound like Mike." Ponch agreed. "He doesn't look like him though."

"Because they gave me a new face and a new name and new life. But…it's me." he assured.

"Why would anyone do that to you?" Jon wondered a bit shocked.

"Wilton Knight gave me a new life with a new purpose." he explained. "I'm working with Cait on this mission. But this mission is above top secret guys. Need to know only! The tape! Did you guys see it?"

Ponch explained, "We saw part of it. The tape said Airwolf was a top secret chopper and Cait was flying it."

"That is true." he told them.

Ponch added, "But this tape is a little strange." He then noticed Sam's face in the crowd. He cocked his head, "She's on it!"

Sam told the pair, "I made the original. It was stolen and copied onto VHS tape and then passed around."

Jon asked, "That tape was talking about Cait and that chopper like it already happened. Specifically it said 'back in the 80's'. Is that tape some kind of hoax?"

She shook her head, "No! But claiming it's a hoax might be one way to cover for us."

Ponch stated, "I don't get it!"

Caitlin spoke up, "Guys! The original is on a small plastic shinny disk. It's called a DVD and Sam made it in the year 2019. In the future Airwolf is an air show feature. Currently, it's a top secret chopper that can do mach one."

Ponch stated, "Now I am really confused."

Caitlin continued, "The money with the wrong dates that have been circulating around. That money is real. Sam spent it here. She's from the future."

Michael stated, "There is a time travel element to all this guys."

Jon blinked a bit taken and asked, "Time travel?"

He nodded.

Ponch asked, "Is there a time machine?" He looked about the hangar for such machine.

String spoke up, "It's not a machine. It's a wormhole!"

Both officers seemed confused.

Michael stated, "To make a long story short, Sam owns this hangar in the future. She was using it to work on an engine that would need to make a space ship. It got out of control and ripped a hole in space itself. In the back of this hangar is a wormhole that connects from now to the year 2022 and on the other end of that hole is an engine that a lot of governments and private companies would like to get their hands on. We are talking about an engine for space travel guys. The reason Cait asked you both here is because we know we can trust you and we need to find the tapes and the original movies that were stolen from Sam. She brought back through the wormhole the Airwolf documentary and a bunch of movies that have not been made yet along with a DVD player. She brought it back to show her friends in school. We gave her a cover of a high school student to help protect her identity. But that Airwolf tape exposed her identity and the chopper. We need help containing this."

Jon asked, "Can we see this wormhole?"

He explained, "It's invisible to the naked eye. You can go through it though."

"To the future?" he clarified.

Michael nodded, "Yeah! To the future."

Ponch asked, "Wouldn't we be old in the future?"

Michael nodded, "You would both be old men and retired."

The two officers looked at one another again. They shrugged at each other.

Ponch stated, "Lets see this future."
