Severus Snape POV.

I entered into the house of black. "Homenum revielio" nobody was there. I hadn't expected anyone to be there anyway. But Potter might've been there. Potter. The son of Lily Evans. The son of James Potter. The Boy who lived. The boy Lily saved. The boy his Lily, gave her life for.

I shut the door and went upstairs, step by step. Then I remembered what I was doing here. I was on a mission for the dark Lord to find whatever I could about the order of the phoenix. What would Lily think of this? No she wouldn't be thinking about me, she would be thinking about her son and husband, and probably Black and Lupin. No she wouldn't be thinking about me.

I walked into Black's room. I knew he would have a letter from Lily around here somewhere. He would keep those. And I searched. Every drawer, every box, and under the bed. Finally I found a letter in the closet, from Lily. It said:

Dear Padfoot,

Thank you Thank you, for Harry's birthday present! It was his favorite by far. One year old and already zooming along on a toy broomstick, he looked so pleased with himself, I'm enclosing a picture so you can see. You know it only rises two feet from the ground, but he nearly killed the cat and he smashed a horrible vase that Petunia sent me for Christmas. (no complaints there.) Of course, James thought it was so funny, says he's going to be a great quittitch player, but we've packed up all the ornaments and make sure we don't keep our eyes off him when he gets going.

We had a very quiet birthday tea, just us and old Bathilda, who has always been sweet to us and always dotes on Harry. We are so sorry you couldn't come, but the order's got to come first, and Harry's not old enough to know its his birthday anyway! James is getting a bit frustrated shut up here, he tries not to show it but I can tell- also, Dumbledore's got his Invisibility cloak, so no chance ofgoing on little excursions. If you can visit, it will cheer him up so much. Wormy was here last weekend, I thought he seemed down, but it was probably the news about the McKinnons; I cried all week when I heard.

Bathilda drops by most days, she's a fascinating old thing with the most amazing stories about Dumbledore, I'm not sure he'd be pleased if he knew! I don't know how much to believe, actually, because it seems incredible that Dumbledore could ever be friends with Gellert Grindelwald. I think her mind's going, personally!

Lots of love,

Lily

Then, I cried. I cried, like a fool. I knew why Pettigrew was a bit put down. It was because it was the last time he would see them, And Lily thought it was because the McKinnins died. Pettigrew didn't care about them. He was put down because that was the last time he would see them. He knew the Dark Lord would kill them.

I looked at the picture, Lily standing there laughing, she looked so pretty, James who was laughing too, and Harry, zooming in and out of the picture on his toy broom. I tore the part off of James and Harry, and so Lily stood there by herself laughing. I tucked the picture inside my robes and left mumbling, "Fool, you can't love someone who is dead and married."

Well that's it. Yeah I know a little random. It just popped up in my head so I decided to write it. Oh yeah, the disclaimer, DISCLAIMER: The letter is J.K Rowling's. So is some of snape's actions. Thanks for reading! Please review!
