Mephiles continued to watch over Nanaha for the next few weeks or so, cherishing every moment spent with her. He learned many things about her, and the more he learned, the more he grew to love her. Mephiles woke up one morning, Nanaha had let him stay over her house, and saw Nanaha still fast asleep. He didn't bother to wake her; after all, she was starting to get her energy back. He got up from the spare bed Nanaha let him sleep on, fixed the covers back on her, they had been knocked off again, walked to her bedroom door, and walked out, trying not to wake her.

He gave a sigh and leaned against the door, he felt that strange feeling again, but he had gotten used to it. He got it every time he was around her. His face begun to grow red as he put his hand on his heart, it was beating faster now. He made his way downstairs, with a dazed look on his face. Mephiles opened the front door, he wanted to run for a while to get his mind off things, but to his surprise, Shadow was standing there. Mephiles felt embarrassed, Shadow had now seen how red his face was and how love struck he looked

"So...this is where you've been hiding" All Mephiles could do was stand there shocked, he shook his head "Um...yeah..." he managed to say "is Nanaha home?" Shadow asked "Yeah but she's still asleep, she's been sick for a few weeks now..." Shadow looked disappointed "Oh, well tell her if she's up for it me and Yuki are having a party at our house Friday" Mephiles nodded and walked past Shadow, shutting the door behind him and locking it with the key, which he still had. Mephiles was out for a great deal of time running, even though the run was meant to clear his mind, he couldn't get Nanaha off it."...you're so sweet and smell like strawberries...you have the cutest smile I have ever seen...you're so beautiful...your fur is so soft and smooth as silk...even though you are sick...you still manage to be happy..."

He could feel his face burn red again and his heart beat faster, he wanted to go back to her house, so he turned around and ran back. When Mephiles walked into the house he dropped the key on the floor when he saw Nanaha lying there, he ran to her and picked her up. She opened her eyes "...Mephiles..." she smiled and cuddles closer to him "I...missed you..." her voice was weak and frail; Mephiles gave a sigh "you scared me...are you okay?" "Yeah...a little...still dizzy..." she laughed silently "sorry for worrying you...I didn't mean to..." "It's okay" he sat her down on the couch and started making her something to eat, then someone knocked at the door "I'll get it..." Nanaha said "No!" Mephiles walked into the living room and pointed his finger downwards; she laughed "okay" then sat back down.

He walked over to the door and before getting it, picked up his key to the house, tucked it into his glove and opened the door, Silver was there "Listen! I want a rematch! And this time I-" Mephiles shut the door in the middle of his sentence." Who was it?" Nanaha asked "No one important…" he said and continued to make Nanaha breakfast.

After breakfast, Nanaha said she felt better, and went upstairs to change her clothes. Mephiles waited outside her door"Hey Nanaha..." Mephiles finally said "Yeah" she answered from inside her room "Shadow came by before…" "He did?" "Yeah, he wanted me to ask you if you wanted to come to a party him and Yuki were having at their place, that is, if you were up to it" The door swung open " A party! Really!" She jumped around before screaming "yes!" and hugging Mephiles, this bushed a little "B-but are you s-sure you're all b-better" he stuttered a little "I'm fine! See" Nanaha let go of Mephiles and pointed to the gem she never removed from her chest, it was bright blue.

He remembered when he first saw her, it was a dull shade of blue "What is that?" he asked "My heart…if it breaks I die, but it's very strong so I'm okay" she smiled "That's your...heart? But then what's...in here" Mephiles pointed to the spot where he knew his heart was "I have one, but it doesn't function like a normal heart...it doesn't beat" Nanaha grabbed Mephiles' hand and place it where her dysfunctional heart was, he blushed but waited to feel a heartbeat...nothing. He looked at her face "Told you" she said and walked downstairs, Mephiles following her.

"So…what do you want to do today…?" Nanaha glomped Mephiles "First I wanna know where you went this morning…I was lonely Mephy…" he paused for a minute 'Mephy?' She whimpered and gave him little puppy eyes, making him blush a bit "Eh…I-I went running…I'm sorry…I thought when I got back you would still be asleep!" She giggled "Can I go with you?" "Uh…okay…you need to get off me though…" Nanaha got off of him, swaying her tail "Now I know you're feeling better…" they both laughed.

Mephiles and Nanaha were sitting on the grass, as a gentle breeze made it dance. "It's so pretty here…" she smiled "Yeah…hey…why are your eyes two different colors?" She looked away and closed her eyes "It's a defect of my creation…when I was younger, I would be teased about it…Sonic sometimes still teases me…I suppose you're gonna start teasing me too…" Mephiles blinked "No! I think they're nice…Sonic's just jealous of your beautiful eyes!" Nanaha looked at him "Really…you think my eyes are beautiful?" "Uh I-I…uh…" she giggled "Hey Mephiles, where's your mouth?" she poked at his mouth less muzzle "I never really knew that…" "But without a mouth you can't smile…" " I learned a trick were I can make myself a mouth…but the teeth are sharp and the often scare people…" she looked fascinated "Show me…" "Are you sure?" she nodded.

Nanaha watched as a mouth appeared on Mephiles' muzzle. He gave a demonic smile, showing off all of his gleaming sharp teeth. "Hm…maybe if you show a little less tooth, people won't get scared. Smile like me" Nanaha demonstrated a smile "Like this…." Mephiles tried "Yeah, like that!" she giggled, he laughed. After a while they left the field and got some ice cream, Nanaha got vanilla and Mephiles chocolate.

"So…by what you told me, I figure you don't eat much and probably really don't know what this is…" she pointed to her ice cream, Mephiles shook his head "This is ice-cream. It's basically from my point of view frozen milk that comes in different flavors, some of them you'll love other…not so much" "what do I do with the ones I don't like…" she giggled "You just don't buy or make it" "What do I do with this?" "Well, you eat it. Like this" Nanaha took her spoon, put it in her mouth and ate the ice-cream on it "Like that" Mephiles looked at his ice-cream, mixed it around and lifted the spoon out of the little bowl "…then I put it in my moth…right?" she nodded as he did so. Nanaha looked at him for a few seconds until he said "Wow! This taste good!" and started eating it faster "M-Mephiles! Don't do that! You'll get a-" "Ahhhh!" Mephiles hit his head down on the table and started to bang his fist on it "-brain freeze…." She laughed nervously; he looked at her "Gahhh!Make it go away!" She smiles "Here…take your thumb and press it to the roof of your mouth" she showed him how and he did it.

A few seconds later, Mephiles felt better "Why did that stop it?" he asked "Yuki used to tell me when I got a brain freeze, the roof of my mouth got so cold, it went up to my brain and made it cold, and by putting your thumb there, it makes the warmth from it go up to your brain and warm it" "Oh…" he smiled at her. On the way home Mephiles started to talk with her again "Today I learned a mouth can do a lot of things…" "Like what?" He looked over at her "Well…for starters, it can show someone how you feel when you smile or frown. It can let delicious things onto you're tongue, but it can also give your brain a cold…" Nanaha giggled "mouths can do a lot more…" he looked at her and raised an eyebrow "What do you mean…?" "Well…if you like someone a lot, you put your lips on theirs, that's a kiss" she smiled 'A…kiss? What a strange way to show affection…' "So…you eat the other person's face?" Nanaha laughed "No silly! A kiss is like….this…" Nanaha gently pressed her lips on Mephiles' cheek, which made his face go crimson, she only giggled.

The rest of the walk was silent up until they made it to her house "Are…are you leaving, Mephiles?" he thought it over for a while "Do you want me to?" "Can you stay over one more night…just in case I start feeling sick again…" she gave him a faint smile "Sure" They both walked into the house.

Me: this one was like four pages...

Nanaha: better than the others which were all one...

Me: one of my friends gave me the ice-cream scene idea^^
