They waited outside, until the doctor came out again, Mephiles got up "I'm sorry I didn't introduce myself before. My name is Alice, I've been Nanaha's doctor ever since she was created, we've just become very close, and she's like a daughter to me. Who are you?" the cat put out her hand. Mephiles shook it "I'm Mephiles the Dark her...uh...friend…" Alice smiled "Well, it's nice to meet you Mephiles. If you didn't do what you did, we might have lost her" "It was that bad…" he asked cleaning his face "Sadly, yes, if you would come with me, I we can talk more about in her room, she's awake and wants to see you " She turned around and started walking when he said "Wait, let me tell my friends" Alice looked at Yuki, Shadow and Sonic, who were waiting also "Okay,I'll wait right here when you're done" he nodded and walk back to the others.

"The doctor is taking me back to tell me what was wrong with Nanaha…" They nodded, Yuki was still crying. Mephiles rubbed Yuki on the head "It's okay" he assured her. He saw Shadow kiss her on the head and rub her back again, then turned to Alice and she lead him into the back. They walked into a room were Nanaha was sitting on the bed; the gem's color was starting to turn back to its normal shade of blue. Alice closed the door behind him as he walked over to her and hugged her "I didn't think you were going to be okay…" she smiled at him "you're more than just 'friends' aren't you?" Alice giggled "N-no! Just friends!" they both said in unison. Nancy laughed and looked at her clipboard "Well...I have some things to tell you" Mephiles turned around and sat down.

"You had a major illness that drained your energy, but with a short treatment we did, you should feel better, but we checked to make sure you weren't infected anymore and we found something else..." Mephiles looked at her "is it...bad" he looked worried. She smiled "oh no, it's not bad at all! But do you want to know?" Mephiles thought it over for a while "Yes..." Nanaha said "Well we found out that you are pregnant" Mephiles froze and his ears fell "what…?" Nanaha was just as shocked as Mephiles was "Well...I'll just leave you two alone…if you want me to, I can get your friends…" Nanaha nodded, Alice nodded back and walked out the door.

She looked at him "...Mephiles..."he looked back "I—I'm so sorry…" "Mephiles It's not your-" "It sort of is…" The door then opened and Yuki ran in "Nanaha! You're okay!" she hugged her "What did the doctor say Mephiles?" Shadow asked "…Nanaha had an illness that would drain her energy…they treated it and she's going to be fine…" "That's great, so why do you look so surprised…?" Sonic looked at Mephiles "Well…in a later examination…they found out she is pregnant…" Yuki's ears fell , Sonic started to laugh "Nice going dude" Mephiles looked at Sonic "you are so lucky we are in a hospital, Sonic because after I'm done with you, you'll need surgery just to reattach EVERYTHING back on if you survive…" Sonic looked mortified "Come on Mephiles…don't be like that…" Sonic nervously laughed.

After a while, Alice came back in to take some blood from Nanaha for another test "Can she come home?" Mephiles asked "She has to stay here tonight…we want to make sure that the illness doesn't come back…"He nodded "Okay…".Everyone left the hospital and went home. When Mephiles walk through the door, he just went upstairs and fell onto Nanaha's bed "Nanaha...I am so sorry..." tears filled his eyes as he drifted off to sleep.

Nanaha: You said I wasn't going to die!

Me: and you didn't…

Nanaha: I ALMOST died!

Me: just get over it…
