I don't own digimon.
Story 32
Sky Cream
Aegiochusmon (Blue) stared over the summoning circle. Much as she loved her wife Jupitermon, that didn't stop her from wondering if she needed to do remedial lessons when it came to the area and diameter of circles. Perhaps with some tools to help her better understand the actual size of some things. That and it was an excuse to dress up in one of those teacher outfits. Her wife would most definitely love that. Even if she couldn't return the favor. Not that the Former Olympos XII member really minded. That was half the fun of this job, after all.
"Agapité, pós prépei na tairiázoume an kánete ton kýklo tóso mikró? (Dear, how are we supposed to fit if you make the circle so tiny?)" she inquired and looked over to Junomon. Staring down at her handiwork, the former Olympos XII member picked the piece of chalk back up. Taking care to not wreck what work had already been done, it was simple enough to expand the circle. Even if her gold weapons threatened to smear and scratch the work they had already done. Easily fixable, it would still air on the side of absolutely annoying.
"Eínai kalýtero aftó? (Is that better?)" Junomon inquired, her wife's large mechanical arm scanning over the circle. Bringing the appendage down, a nod followed. The excitement brimming within was absolutely infectious. She couldn't believe that they had found an actual method to go back. Her wife's successor getting pulled through was a happy little accident. At least, Junomon hoped that was the case. Would suck if things weren't going so well by way of their stupidity. They still needed to find someone to take her place for the foreseeable future. Which was on top of having to find a replacement for Merukimon as well. But that was for another day. Right now, she let her thoughts turn to the incoming vacation. When was the last time that she and her wife got a chance to relax? Had to be some time before they were recruited into the Olympos XII. The time really did seem to fly when it came to jobs like this. Hopefully their humans would be happy to see them. Trying her hardest to imagine their reactions, she found herself coming up short.
"Naí. Eíste étoimoi na epistrépsete ston Anthrópino Kósmo? (Yes. Are you ready to return to the Human World?)" Aegiochusmon announced and brought her smaller hand to the circle's surface. An orb of blue energy formed within, light pouring through the circle. Standing back up, the wizard digimon reached out to Junomon's hand. Grabbing hold, care was taken to get the various blades sticking out from her wife's arm. Walking forward, the couple stepped into the middle of the circle. Waiting a moment, the world around them swirling and melting about for a couple of seconds before everything went black.
On the other side, Aegiochusmon opened her eyes. Currently cradled in Junomon's arms, she looked up to her wife's face. Unfazed by anything going on currently, she swore a smile had formed for the briefest of moments. Then it was right back to the same neutral expression.
"Ti nomízeis, agapité? (What do you think, dear?)" the Former Olympos XII member whispered, waiting a moment for her wife to scan the area. From up here, everything looked absolutely miniature. By no means a bad thing, it did make this all very scary for Aegiochusmon. As Jupitermon she could just fly about, smiting her foes down with a variety of electricity and other aerial attacks. But having stepped down, the only tricks up her sleeves was her wizard training and the spells that came with it.
"Eínai ómorfo. (It's pretty.)" Junomon announced and did her best to slow the descent. Easier said than done when most of your attacks involve attacking with one of the various blades attached to your arm and the weapons held within. "Den échete akóma éna magikó kólpo í dýo? (Don't you still have a magic trick or two?)"
Aegiochusmon nodded and raised her large mechanical arm up. Been some time since she had to use one of her spells. The likelihood of it blowing up in their face was minimal at worst, but better to be safe than sorry.
Pylónas tou Poseidóna (Pillar of Poseidon)!
A tube of water appeared below the pair, slowing their fall but coming nowhere close to getting them to the ground in one piece. Looking down, the couple watched the aqueous construct fall to the earth below. Thankfully, its destination was a pool. Hopefully the owner wouldn't particularly mind a partial fill-up. If they somehow did, then it was just a matter of apologizing for something out of their control here. Hopefully the person would understand and let them go on with their day without worry. Not much use in thinking about that possibility.
"Tóso polý gia aftó. (So much for that.)" Aegiochusmon muttered and let out a sigh. In turn, she got a head pat from Junomon. Leaning right into it, her wife took care to not touch the horns. By no means fragile, the Former Olympos XII member just preferred people not touching them. Simple as that. Why that had been so hard for others to understand, she didn't know why. Pushing that thought away, her gaze shifted back to the ground. The buildings below were a lot larger now, still nowhere close to the ground. "Anything that you want to do once we're on the ground?"
Looking about the sky, Junomon took a moment to think it over. She had nowhere close to the amount of free time granted her (work still needed to come first, for better or worse), that was all the more reason to get in as many activities that she could before returning to the Olympos XII. Shifting her thoughts, she came to flower picking. The flora of the digital world was nice, something about Human World flowers had a far more beautiful aura to them. She couldn't explain why. They just did and she wasn't going to deny it. Especially if someone claimed otherwise in conversation.
"Éna boukéto tha ítan tromerá oraío. (A bouquet would be awfully nice.)" Junomon cooed and watched Aegiochusmon's shift over to her. Giving a nod, the couple returned to looking down at the ground. Another Pillar of Poseidon wouldn't do any good here. Perhaps a different tactic was in order here. Kind of like surfing. Looking at her wife's staff, Aegiochusmon threw that idea out. The weapon was too thin and fragile to hold up to both their weights. That, and the surface area was nowhere close too providing a solid base to do the moves necessary to get down safely. "Ypárchei káti láthos? (Is there something wrong?)"
Aegiochusmon shook her head. Looking at Junomon one more time, an idea came to her. A different idea to the one she had before. In retrospect, this is what she should've done first. But that could be chalked up too her miscalculating the distance between them and the ground.
"Échete akóma aftó to kaláthi? (Do you still have that basket?)" Aegiochusmon inquired and watched Junomon reach behind her back. The sound of multiple objects bouncing about within her cape echoed out, nothing close to their desired object.
Kaláthi Agápis (Love Basket)!
Out came a large wicker basket. Dropping it at their feet, the couple watched the container grow until it was big enough to fit both of them. Sitting down, the former Olympos XII member stared into her wife's eyes. Twinkling against the bright blue sky, her mind was cast back to before her time in the Olympos XII. For something that felt like an eternity ago, she could still vividly remember those days. Back then, the only thing that mattered was school and what was occurring right after with her partner. Always with a spring in her step, Aegiochusmon sometimes had trouble keeping up with her. Thankfully, she knew a spell or two to keep up with her most days. Especially when she dragged everyone to the local ice cream parlor. Did sound kind of nice up above. Whether or not the former Olympos XII member would feel the same on the ground remained to be seen. Nor did she know if Junomon could even have ice cream without taking off her mask. If she couldn't, the parlor better have a decent alternative. In no way would she want her wife to be the only one left out of an outing like this. Letting that go for now, her thoughts turned to what kind of bouquet would be best for Junomon. Between the arm blades and her other weapons, the flowers within needed to be incredibly sturdy. Nor could they come directly off the side of the road. With her luck, she would probably grab some from a person's garden and never hear the end of it from the owner. Nor could she just create the flowers from thin air. The only digimon capable of doing that were plant digimon. Unless something changed, of course. But she highly doubted that actually happening.
"Óla eínai kalá, agapité? (Is everything alright, dear?)" Junomon cooed, her wife's gaze swiveling to meet her face. Getting a nod, Aegiochusmon leaned in for a kiss. Even if that did require moving her mechanical arm out of the way. Her wife still appreciated the gesture.
"Nai. Aplós cháthika stis sképseis mou. (Yeah. Just got lost in my thoughts.)" Aegiochusmon answered as she broke away. Staring over the basket's edge, the world was beginning to get to its regular size. The tips of trees threatened to poke at their basket, but the plant had nothing on the lines of houses stretching out for all to see. Yards and other features served to break it all out, paired perfectly with parks and shops. Beyond all of that was a beach. Not that the couple could make out anything in the way of an ice cream parlor or a similar shop. Had it closed down? Entirely possible, but there was probably a better explanation for this here. One that they could just ask Aegiochusmon's partner. That was probably for the best. "Pistévete óti tha doúme ton diádochó mou? (Do you think we'll see my successor?)"
Junomon looked away, trying her hardest to hold in a chuckle. Easier said than done, her wife seeing right through it. Not that she blamed Aegiochusmon for wanting to make sure everything was going well with the future Jupitermon. The last thing either digimon wanted was a ticking time bomb as one of the leaders of the digital world's future.
"An to kánoume, aftó tha ítan mia tychaía sýmptosi. (If we do, that would be one heck of a coincidence.)" Junomon answered and Aegiochusmon nodded. Between the whole mess with Ordinemon and then Eosmon, it sometimes felt as if their workload never ended. One assignment after the next without anything in the way of a reprieve. Only now were they finally able to celebrate their union with a honeymoon. Couldn't be a long one, but that didn't matter to Aegiochusmon and Junomon. No, they were ready to savor the time allocated to the best of their abilities.
"Échete géfseis pagotoú pou thélete na dokimásete? (Any ice cream flavors you want to try?)" Aegiochusmon inquired, Junomon taking a second to think her answer over. She couldn't even think of the last time anything resembling ice cream had been consumed. Had to have been before marrying Aegiochusmon. No, it had to be even further back. Maybe when Aegiochusmon's human got to be with her. Hopefully she had grown up all big and strong, capable of facing down the toughest of adversaries without even flinching. The stuff legends (human and digimon alike) were made of. But she pushed that thought away and returned her focus to ice cream. Ignoring her mask for the moment, Junomon debated how she wanted her ice cream. Cone or bowl? Bowls were obviously easier to eat out of. But with a cone, you had something nice to eat once you finished the ice cream. Especially those waffle cones. Those were the absolute best, even if her various blades and other weapons would make it a challenge to eat. Then came the matter of flavor. Would it be better to go with something normal like vanilla or chocolate? Or would it be better to be adventurous and try one of those truly out there flavors like jalapeño or cotton candy. That didn't even get into whether she wanted hard or soft ice cream either. God, why did humans have to make it so hard? All she wanted was some ice cream.
"Ó, ti théleis na mou páreis, agapité. (Whatever you want to get me, dear.)" Junomon announced and cracked a smile. Not that Aegiochusmon could probably see it, her gaze focused on the ground below. Awfully close now, hopefully the basket would be able to ho-
Slamming into the ground, the basket shattered into a million pieces. Wicker all thrown about, the couple finding themselves in the middle of an intersection. Cars and other vehicles came to a stop, bringing with it strings of obscenities and honking of horns. By no means their intention to cause such a fuss, that wasn't how it looked too the drivers.
"Sorry about that!" Aegiochusmon announced and took care to help her wife up. Once Junomon was, they did their best to make their way out of the intersection and over to a nearby sidewalk. Letting out a deep breath, she took a moment to adjust her mechanical arm. They couldn't be that much farther from their destination. If they didn't run into anything in the way of pedestrians and/or other vehicles, her next spell would be more than enough to carry them to their (hopefully) final destination.
Kýma seirínas (Siren's Wave)!
Raising her hand up in a curved motion, a large wave shot forth from the ground. Taking care to be on top of the water, Aegiochusmon and Junomon were carried along the sidewalks and streets in the direction of the beach and ice cream parlor.
"Sorry about the lack of warning." Aegiochusmon whispered and Junomon shook her head. Returning to looking ahead, she took care in reaching out to her wife's hand as the sun set. Casting pink light over the town, there was a certain kind of beauty here that
"It's alright. You just want to see her again and it gets us to ice cream quicker." Junomon answered and cracked a smile, the ice cream parlor now in view. Done up in a red brick exterior, red and white awnings hung overhead. A boardwalk sat in front of it, taking care to not intersect anything in the way of the beach or the street. But no sign of Aegiochusmon's partner. Perhaps she was inside. Entirely possible at this hour.
Bringing the wave to a stop, the couple did a short slide to the edge of their destination. Waiting a moment for the wave to dissipate, Aegiochusmon let out a sigh. Taking a moment to steel her nerves, the former Olympos XII member approached the door. Junomon followed right behind, watching her wife grab hold of the knob and twist. Pushing it open, the couple stepped inside.
Compared to the outside, the inside was just as quaint. Red and white tiles lined the floors, being met with green wallpapers with gold accents within. A bar ripped straight from a 50's diner sat comfortably near the back with a long glass display case serving to show all the ice cream flavors. Standing at the counter was a woman. Wearing what the pair could only assume to be the proper attire for an ice cream parlor, a set of cerulean eyes
"Aegiochusmon, it's been too long!" she announced and jumped over the bar, making a beeline for the former Olympos XII member. For now, Aegiochusmon held still and let her come over.
"You too, Aglaia." Aegiochusmon greeted, taking care in wrapping her arms around her partner here. All while Junomon watched on. Tempted as she was to join in this bonding moment, her weapons would just make it harder to do so. "How have you been?"
Breaking away, Aglaia let out a deep breath. Where could she begin with a question like that? Especially with that strange woman right by her partner.
"I now own the ice cream parlor. No, that does not mean you can eat all the ice cream in the shop. Far from it, in fact." Aglaia explained and found herself met with an annoyed response from her partner. Even if that did get her a confused look from Junomon to boot. "Beyond that, It seems you found yourself a special someone. Care to tell me her name?"
Aegiochusmon nodded, doing her best to split focus between Aglaia and Junomon. Taking a moment to compose herself, she let out a deep breath.
"This is Junomon, my wife." the former Olympos XII member explained as Junomon gave a wave. Aglaia focused on her, care taken in holding a hand out. Junomon grabbed hold and gave it a shake.
"Do you have a special someone in your life, Aglaia?" she inquired and watched the confectioner look away. Words spilling out of her mouth, none of which forming a coherent sentence. Even as the door of the parlor opened once.
"Aglaia, I hope you don't mind me bringing the entire swim team wi-" a voice called out and Aegiochusmon turned around. Before the trio was a woman. Dressed in a blue and black swimsuit, her sky blue eyes were having trouble deciding who to focus on. A wedding ring hung to her fingers, that hand taking the time to run through her dark brown locks of hair done up in a ponytail.
"Are you Aglaia's special someone?" Aegiochusmon inquired and the woman's cheeks went red. Grasping for something to focus on, that's easier said than done. Eventually settling on just looking at Aegiochusmon, a smile formed on her face. Right as a horde of children came rushing by and began jumping at the counter.
"You could say that." the woman cooed and walked over Aglaia, plopping a kiss on her cheek. Giving a kiss back, she watched the confectioner head back to her counter. Aegiochusmon and Junomon were right behind, taking their place in line.
