Drake: You have no right to tear down the Slifer dorm Bonaparte.

Bonaparte: Who are you to stop me?

The two had been arguing back and forth all morning about the fate of the red dorm.

Crowler: Gentlemen, calm down.

Bonaparte: Stay out of it Crowler. You've had your chance to improve this school, and you've failed miserably. It's high time we get rid of the Slifer Dorm.

Drake: Not while I'm still here.

Crowler: Drake is right Bonaparte; you lack the authority.

Bonaparte: Why are you so adamant in defending that dorm of slackers?

Crowler: Drop it Bonaparte.

Bonaparte: On one condition.

Drake: Let me guess, a duel?

Bonaparte: Indeed. If I win, it's goodbye Slifers.

Drake: But if I win, the dorm stays.

Crowler: You don't have to do this Drake.

Drake: If it gets Bonaparte to shut up about it, I'll do it.

Little did they know a particular blue haired student was eavesdropping on the conference. Syrus ran back to the dorm and told everyone what he overheard.

Jaden: Bonaparte's gonna tear down the dorm?

Bastion: Are you certain?

Hassleberry: Who's your source?

Alexis: Guys, one at a time.

Lily: Syrus, are you sure that's what you heard?

Syrus: Yeah. Professor Drake and Bonaparte are gonna duel.

Drake: Why do you want to duel in front of the students?

Everyone turned to the side and saw Drake and Bonaparte walking towards the dorm.

Bonaparte: Having second thoughts?

Drake: Hardly. I just don't want to embarrass you in front of the students is all.

Bonaparte: In your dreams.

Drake: Prepare to eat those words shorty.

Bonaparte: Bring it four eyes.

Syrus: Michael, Professor Drake is friends with your dad, do you know if he's any good?

Michael: I've heard he's good, but I've never seen him duel before.

Jaden: Either way, I think we're in for a sweet duel.

The two men prepared to duel while Chazz went into one of the rooms with a couple paint cans.

Jaden: Man, I can't wait to see what kind of duel this is going to be.

Alexis: Jaden, you should be more concerned about this.

Bastion: Indeed. If Bonaparte wins, then the Red dorm will be demolished.

Syrus: Who are they?

Syrus pointed to the side, indicating a group of construction workers.

Hassleberry: Don't know. And what's with the power shovel over there?

Michael: I've got a sinking suspicion. Lily, give me a hand with something?

Lily: Sure.

The two turned and went to the dorm.

Jaden: Oh man, they're gonna miss the duel.

Meanwhile, Chazz was painting one of the rooms white.

Chazz: Soon all the kids in the school will leave their dorm and join the Society of Light.

Bonaparte: This is your last chance to save face Drake. Surrender now and I won't embarrass you.

Drake: Oh please, you're just trying to save yourself from embarrassment. In any case, I won't let you kick the Slifers out. I promised a friend I'd look after this dorm, and I'm a man of my word.

Bonaparte: Fine. Let the revolution begin!

Drake: You're so dramatic, you know that?

Bonaparte: 4000 LP

Drake: 4000 LP

Bonaparte: I'll take the first move, and I summon Toy Soldier in attack mode.

Level 3/Earth/Machine

ATK 800/DEF 300

Jaden: Cute little guy, don't you think?

Bastion: Maybe, but it shouldn't be underestimated.

Bonaparte: Next, I place three cards face-down and end my turn.

Drake: My move. And I play the spell Graceful Charity, so I draw 3 cards before I send 2 cards in my hand to the graveyard. Next, I play Pot of Greed to draw 2 more cards. Now I play Premature Burial, so by paying 800 life points, I can summon a monster from my graveyard in attack mode and equip it with this card, and I choose Phantom Beast Cross-Wing.

Drake: 3200 LP

Cross-Wing

Level 4/Light/Beast-Warrior

ATK & DEF 1300

Bonaparte: Forgot to mention. Every time you lose life points, a part of the dorm will be torn down.

Drake: What?!

The power shovel started and ripped into the side of the dorm, causing one of Chazz's paint cans to fall on him, covering him in white paint.

Drake: Bonaparte are you insane?! There are still kids in the dorm!

Lily: Don't worry Professor.

Alexis: Lily?

Michael: I had a bad feeling about the power shovel, so Lily and I got everyone out of the dorm before the duel started.

Student 1: Go get him Professor!

Student 2: Yeah! Bonaparte can't tear our dorm down!

The whole dorm began cheering on Drake.

Drake: Don't worry kids, the dorm's not going anywhere. Alright, it's still my turn, so I sacrifice Cross-Wing to summon Berphomet in attack mode.

Level 5/Dark/Fiend

ATK 1400/DEF 1800

Drake: And since he was summoned, I can add Gazelle, the King of Mythical Beasts to my hand. Now I activate Polymerization, fusing Gazelle and Berphomet to summon Chimera, the Flying Mythical Beast.

Level 6/Wind/Beast

ATK 2100/DEF 1800

Jaden: Alright, way to play teach!

Drake: And it doesn't stop there. Since Cross-Wing is in my graveyard, all my Phantom Beasts, including Chimera and Gazelle, gain 300 attack points.

Chimera: 2100-2400 ATK

Bonaparte: So you've got some overgrown flea bag. My army is well prepared.

Drake: Prove it.

Bonaparte: Very well then. I play the trap Toy Cannon. This trap will switch your monster to defense mode and deal 400 points of damage to you.

A cannon appeared on Bonaparte's field before it launched a small cannonball at Chimera, knocking him onto his back.

Drake: 2800 LP

Bonaparte: And now I play the continuous trap Gulliver Chain!

Thick chains shot out of the ground and wrapped around Chimera, pinning him to the ground.

Drake: What did you do?

Bonaparte: Due to the effect of Gulliver Chain, if your monster switches to attack mode, it will automatically be destroyed. So, is my army well equipped?

Drake: Me and my big mouth. I end my turn.

Bastion: After all that effort to summon Chimera, it was rendered useless in a single turn.

Alexis: Looks like Bonaparte is no slouch.

Bonaparte: My turn. And during my standby phase, the effect of Toy Soldier activates, allowing me to summon the other Toy Soldiers from my deck.

Drake: He may have three monsters, but none of them have enough attack points to get past Chimera. Of course, now he can sacrifice his soldiers to summon a high-level monster.

Bonaparte: Are you aware of the necessary traits for success in battle?

Drake: What?

Bonaparte: Allow me to inform you. First is prowess, second is drive, and the most important is decisiveness.

Drake: Your point being?

Bonaparte: My point is, as the head of a dorm of slackers, you have none of these qualities.

Drake: You don't know anything about me or these students. I won't allow you to crush their potential!

Bonaparte: We'll see about that. I play the spell Forced March. By halving the attack of all my soldiers this turn, they can each attack you directly.

Soldiers: 800-400 ATK

Bonaparte: Forward march!

His soldiers charged across the battlefield, but stopped halfway, panting for breath.

Drake: Overwork your monsters much?

Bonaparte: They just need a boost of morale. I play the spell Fife and Drum Core. This card doubles the attack of monsters on my field with 1000 or less attack points for one turn.

Soldiers: 400-800 ATK

Drake: Not good.

Bonaparte: Fire!

His monsters aimed their weapons at Drake and fired corks at him, two striking him in the chest and one hitting him in the stomach, causing him to drop to his knees.

Hassleberry: That looked painful.

Syrus: No joke.

Drake: 400 LP

Bonaparte: Your life is hanging on by a mere thread.

Drake: I won't allow myself to lose. It's a teacher's job to protect their students, and that's what I'm going to do. As soon as I can stand back up at least.

Hassleberry: That would be a lot more moving if the man could stand on his feet.

Syrus: Agreed.

Jaden: He hasn't lost yet. Go Professor Drake!

Bonaparte: Since I successfully attacked you directly, I can play the continuous trap Unequal Treaty. While this card is in play, every time you draw a card, you lose 100 life points and I gain 100 life points. I'll place one card face-down and end my turn.

Drake: Not good. None of the cards in my hand can help me right now. And with that Unequal Treaty trap in play, I only have 4 turns left before I lose. I'm not sure I can win this duel.

Jaden: You can do it Professor! Just believe in yourself! If you do that, I know you can turn this duel around!

Alexis: Jaden is right, you can do it!

The whole dorm began shouting for Drake to keep fighting.

Drake: They're right. No matter how much the odds are stacked against me, I'll keep fighting. I draw!

Drake: 300 LP

Bonaparte: 4100 LP

Drake: I summon Phantom Beast Wild Horn in attack mode!

Level 4/Earth/Beast-Warrior

ATK 1700-2000/DEF 0

Drake: And now I play the field spell Forest! This boosts the attack and defense of all beast, insect, plant, and beast-warrior monsters by 200 points.

Wild Horn: 2000-2200 ATK/0-200 DEF

Chimera: 2400-2600 ATK/1800-2000 DEF

Drake: Next up I play the spell Card Hexative! Thanks to it, your face-down card can no longer be activated.

Bonaparte: Now my Negate Attack is worthless.

Drake: Now Wild Horn, attack Toy Soldier!

Wild Horn raised his sword and cut one of Bonaparte's Toy Soldiers in two.

Bonaparte: 2700 LP

Drake: Whatever you destroy, I'll have rebuilt. Ready men?

Construction crew: Yes sir!

The men rushed to the dorm and began repairing the damage done by the power shovel.

Jaden: Wow, they work quick.

Drake: Next, I place a card face-down and end my turn.

Bonaparte: Pointless struggles. I draw. And I play Pot of Greed, so I draw 2 cards from my deck. Next I play the spell Excavation Work, so I send a card in my hand to the graveyard to draw a new card. And since the card I sent to my graveyard was Card of Compensation, its effect activates, allowing me to draw 2 more cards.

Bastion: He was able to increase his hand by three in just one turn.

Bonaparte: And next I play the spell Crowning of the Emperor, so by sacrificing one of my remaining Toy Soldiers, I can summon Toy Emperor from my deck!

Level 6/Earth/Warrior

ATK 2300/DEF 800

Hassleberry: 2300 attack points?!

Bonaparte: Now go and attack that Wild Horn!

Toy Emperor raised its sword and charged towards Wild Horn.

Drake: Not so fast Bonaparte. When you attack, I can activate the effect of Phantom Beast Thunder Pegasus in my graveyard. By banishing this monster, I can choose a Phantom Beast on my field and that monster can't be destroyed in battle this turn, so Wild Horn is safe.

Bonaparte: Maybe so, but your life points are a different story.

Toy Emperor charged forward and tried to strike Wild Horn with his sword, but Wild Horn raised his blade and blocked the strike.

Drake: 200 LP

Bonaparte: I'll switch Toy Soldier into defense mode. Next, I place two cards face-down and end my turn. My face-downs are Trap Hole and Mirror Force. If he summons a monster with 1000 or more attack, it'll be destroyed, and if he manages to attack, he loses all his monsters. This duel is as good as mine.

Drake: My move. This is the last turn. If I can't draw the right cards, I lose. Well, I always did love to press my luck. I draw!

Bonaparte: Which means the effect of my Unequal Treaty activates, causing you to lose another 100 life points.

Drake: 100 LP

Bonaparte: 2800 LP

Bastion: He only has 100 life points left. If he can't win this round, he's finished.

Syrus: Well Jaden, guess it's time to pack our bags.

Jaden: This duel's not over yet.

Drake: You're right Jaden. Especially since I drew the first card I needed to make a comeback.

Bonaparte: Impossible.

Drake: Watch. I play the spell Trap Pause! This card negates the effects of all your face-up continuous traps until the end of this turn, and then I get to draw a card for every trap that was negated this way. Since two traps were negated, I draw 2 cards!

Syrus: Now he can switch Chimera to attack mode!

Drake: Next I play the spell Altar of Restoration, so by banishing the top two cards of my deck, I can add a card from my graveyard to my hand, and I choose Card Hexative, which I'll activate again, so the cards you set last turn are useless to you.

Bonaparte: Maybe so, but you can't defeat my Emperor!

Drake: Watch me. I sacrifice Phantom Beast Wild Horn to summon Phantom Beast Rock-Lizard in attack mode!

Level 7/Earth/Beast-Warrior

ATK 2200/DEF 2000

Syrus: Wait, that monster is level 7, so shouldn't he have had to sacrifice two monsters to summon it?

Drake: Normally yes, but due to Rock-Lizard's special ability, he can be summoned with 1 sacrifice if I sacrifice a Phantom Beast. And due to the effects of Cross-Wing and Forest, he gains a total of 500 attack points.

Rock-Lizard: 2200-2700 ATK/DEF 2000-2200

Drake: And now I play the equip spell Mystical Moon, raising his attack and defense by another 300 points!

Rock-Lizard: 2700-3000 ATK/2200-2500 DEF

Alexis: But even with that, since Toy Soldier is in defense mode, he can't deal damage by attacking it.

Jaden: Something tells me he's planned for that.

Drake: Go Rock-Lizard, and destroy Toy Emperor with Rock Scale Blast!

Rock-Lizard fired a barrage of scales at Toy Emperor, destroying him.

Bonaparte: 2100 LP

Drake: And due to Rock-Lizard's other special ability, when he destroys a monster in battle, you take 500 points of damage.

Bonaparte: 1600 LP

Bonaparte: You've still lost. Your Chimera is still in defense mode, which means he can't attack. And even if he could, since Toy Soldier is in defense mode, you can't damage me by attacking him. I guess it's so long red dorm.

Drake: Wrong. Aren't you wondering why I didn't change Chimera to attack mode even though the effect of Gulliver Chain is negated?

Bonaparte: Not really.

Drake: It's because I had one last card in reserve. And here it is: the trap Zero Gravity!

Bonaparte: Not that trap!

Drake: Due to Zero Gravity, all monsters on the field change their battle modes, so Rock-Lizard goes into defense mode while Chimera and Toy Soldier go into attack mode.

Michael: And since it changed modes during the battle phase-

Lily: Chimera can attack!

Drake: Like I said, I'm a man of my word. Now go Chimera! Destroy Toy Soldier with Impact Dash!

Chimera leapt forward and tackled Toy Soldier, destroying him and knocking Bonaparte onto his back.

Bonaparte: 0 LP

Winner: Drake

Syrus: He did it!

Alexis: What a relief.

Jaden: Sweet moves teach.

Drake: Thanks for the pep talk. You see Bonaparte. That's the difference between a good teacher and a great one.

Bonaparte: What is?

Drake: Anyone can teach. But an excellent teacher can learn from their students.

Bonaparte: Hogwash.

Drake: Say what you want, but I won this duel, so the red dorm is staying.

Bonaparte: For now maybe, but this isn't over.

Jaden: Three cheers for Professor Drake!

The whole dorm began cheering for their headmaster while Chazz came out, seeing the construction crew working to repair the dorm.

Chazz: What did I miss?
