~Remedy~

Chapter 14

If our love is a tragedy, then why are you my remedy?

GRAAAAAAAAY!

Gray's eyes snapped open, and he bolted upright, breathing heavily. "What in the bloody hell?"

"Oh, Gray! You're awake!" Wendy said happily. "How are you feeling?"

"Fine..." He blinked. "Where is everyone?"

"Everyone split up to take down Oracion Seis and look for Lucy."

"I need to find her!"

Before the vampire could even move, he felt a cold blade pressed against his neck.

"Let's make a plan, shall we?" Erza suggested icily.

"Erza!" Wendy cried. She tackled the redhead with a hug, which was surprisingly reciprocated. "How do you feel?"

"Great, thanks to you," Erza said, patting Wendy on the head. "What happened while we were out?"

"The Trimen set of to find Lucy, Ichiya is missing, Jura is facing Hoteye, Lyon went off to find Racer, and I think Sherry is looking for Angel. Oh, and Natsu is having a rematch with that Cobra guy," Wendy explained. "I was told to watch over you to until you wake up."

Gray stood up, putting on his shirt and jacket. "So, that leaves me with Midnight."

"I suppose we'll search for Ichiya..." Erza grumbled. She got up as well. "Can't leave a comrade behind."

There was a sudden scream in the air.

All three tensed.

"Who was that?" Wendy asked, her voice nervously shaking.

"Sherry," Gray said. "It was Sherry. I think she's having trouble with Angel. You two head over to help her, and I'll find Midnight. I know when I find that bastard I'll find Lucy."

Erza and Wendy nodded and watched as Gray vanished.

"Let's go!" Erza dashed off into the forest toward the scream.

"Right!" Wendy followed.

About a good ten minutes later, the two Fairy Tail huntress came upon a river. Wendy gasped when she saw Sherry floating face down, blood spilling out of her wounds and tainting the water red. Erza wasted no time and pulled the Blue Pegasus huntress out and laid her out along the sandy bank.

Wendy checked her pulse and breathed a sigh of relief. "We made it just in time."

Erza was about to let out a sigh as well until she saw three figures lying on the ground further ahead. She took note of singed trees, as well as fallen ones. She felt something get stuck in her throat.

"Wendy?"

"Yes, Erza?"

"I'll be right back."

Before Wendy could ask what was wrong, the scarlet huntress went off toward the wreckage up ahead. When she arrived, she was horrified to find the Eve and Ren sprawled on the ground in awkward angles. Hibiki was conscious but sitting against a rock in bad shape. She came close enough to see they were breathing, although it was really shallow, they were breathing nonetheless. She darted her way back to Wendy.

"Wendy, is it possible to move Sherry without injuring her?"

"Yes, why?"

Erza looked at the young huntress. "I found Hibiki, Ren, and Eve. They're not in any good shape to move."

"Where?!"

"Up ahead where there are fallen and singed trees from some sort of battle."

Wendy wasted no time and ran off. Erza delicately picked up Sherry and followed the young doctor. She lied Sherry down near the Trimen and briefly watched as Wendy started working on them.

"Wendy, can I trust you to take care of them by yourself?" Erza asked.

"Yes, with my life."

Erza gave a small smile. "Good, because I'm going to find this Angel because no one get's away with hurting our comrades."

Wendy smiled back, small tears pricking her eyes.

Erza nodded and disappeared into the dense forest once again.

Jura dodged the pillar of liquefied earth. Just when he thought he was safe, Hoteye sent another and another and another. Jura grunted and decided to take them head on. He activated his staff and cut through the pillar of earth, dissipating them the moment he sliced and thrust through them.

"Not bad," Hoteye observed. "But will that be enough?"

He made the ground beneath Jura into a swirling sea.

"Damnit," Jura swore. He plunged his staff into the ground, and the once swirling ground was back to normal. He glared at the vampire, who giggled in reply. He needed to get closer, but he wasn't fast enough.

"Is that all you got, Lamia Scale hunter?" Hoteye asked with a wide smile.

Jura smirked. "On the contrary, I'm just getting started." He pulled out his Lamia Scale necklace and put it around his neck.

Hoteye's smile faded. "You weren't taking me seriously? But how..."

"Being a hunter saint doesn't come without hand work."

Jura flickered out of sight and appeared right above Hoteye. The vampire's eyes widened and barely dodged the magical staff. He watched with wide eyes as the ground he was just standing on was nothing but a crater. Hoteye dodged Jura's next attack just in time. Now, it was hand-to-hand. It was so fast that the two were nothing but a blur in the dense forest.

Hotye was able to disarm Jura from his staff, leaving the hunter saint open, and gave him a hard punch to the gut. Jura flew back but regained his footing, skidding along the forest floor. The friction between his feet and the ground created a huge dirt cloud, and that's when Jura noticed Hoteye looking around in the dirt cloud.

Jura's eyes widened. He has no sense of smell.

The hunter saint used that to his advantage and ran to his staff and plunged it into the ground. The orb on his staff glowed and created a hologram of his injured self. Jura now wielded his combat knives doused in holy water and began sneaking his way to Hoteye. The Oracion Seis vampire on the other hand narrowed his eyes when he saw the injured 'Jura'.

"So you still have something left it you?"

"Bring it, Hoteye."

An orange magic circle appeared in front of 'Jura', but Hoteye's spell stopped midway when the dirt cloud disappeared. The magical staff became visible.

"What? Whe–"

The real Jura appeared behind him and stabbed his combat knives into the vampire's back. Hoteye's body turned into ash.

"Where the fuck is that snake bastard?" Natsu growled.

The fire hunter stomped his way deeper and deeper into the forest muttering profanities under his breath. He ducked under low branches, walked across ridiculously large roots and logs. He was hopping across large rocks when his foot slipped when it came into contact with some moss. The poor guy went down and fell into the river below and was swept by the current. It wasn't impossible to get out of, but Natsu decided to just float there.

"Today is not my day," he groaned, looking at the sky with malice. His body was suddenly stopped when he crashed into a jagged rock. "Motherfucker!" he howled in pain.

"I'd have to agree."

Natsu jolted up to see none other than Cobra lounging on the bank of the river. He was sitting on washed up log eating a piece of fish off a stick. His giant snake hissed at him.

"You don't happen to have your flamethrower on you?" Cobra asked. "Cubelios likes it charred for some reason."

"Sorry, but the water officially made it unusable," Natsu deadpanned.

"Shame."

Natsu lunged forward with a punch, but Cobra easily caught it and took another bite of fish before throwing the stick to the side. Natsu struggled to get his hand back, so he reached for one of his kamas to slice off the damn vamp's head.

Cobra let go and jumped back onto his snake. "Nice try, hunter, but you're going to have to try harder than that if you want to beat me. Besides, I can hear everything."

Natsu narrowed his eyes. Hear...my thoughts?

"I'm still going to beat your ass, and then you're going to tell me where Lucy is," Natsu snarled.

"As much as I'd like for you to eat those words, I have more pressing matters to attend to," Cobra said.

His giant snake extended his bat-like wings and took flight. Natsu couldn't help but give a girlish screech.

"What the hell? That is not normal!" He shouted in panic. "Everyone knows snakes can't fly!"

"Yeah, and vampires don't exist," Cobra responded dryly. "Later, loser."

"Come back here, you son of a bitch! I'm not finished with you!" Natsu yelled, running after the flying snake.

"Jeez, you really don't know when to quit..." Cobra sighed in annoyance.

Natsu continued sprinting after the flying rogue. He vaguely noticed the further he ran, the harsher the river currents became. His eyes widened. Waterfall? He thought. Just like he thought, the roar of a waterfall became clearly evident. It wasn't long before Cobra and his flying snake were past the waterfall that Natsu noticed how big the drop was. But, he didn't care. He couldn't lose them.

"Shit," Natsu cursed.

Without thinking, he jumped after them. He screamed and latched onto the snake's tail, and now he was currently dangling from his five-hundred foot death. It wasn't helping that the snake lost control and began losing altitude because of two people rather than one.

"You fucking idiot!" Cobra screamed.

"Serves you right, asshole!" Natsu shouted back.

"You dimwit, you're going to kill us both!"

"You'd rather have me throw a knife into your fucking snake's wings?!"

"Fuck no!"

Finally realizing he was literally falling to his death, Natsu screamed the living daylights out of himself. The closer they were to crashing into the ground, the louder and more inhuman it sounded.

"Holy shit, my ears!" Cobra screamed in agony.

It wasn't long until they crash landed into the seemingly never ending Worthwood Sea Forest. The impact was hard enough that the three of them were in the center of a giant crater. Dirt and dust billowed from where they just landed. By some lucky star they were all born under, they somehow made it out alive. Although, the snake and Cobra seemed to be out of commission.

Natsu groaned as he got up rubbing the back his head. "Man, that hurt like a bitch."

He looked around him to see the snake totally out of it, and Cobra twitching on the forest in pain. Natsu rose a brow until it finally dawned on him.

"Sensitive ears. Right. Totally planned that..." He nodded to himself with pursed lips.

The hunter pulled out throwing knives doused in holy water and pulled the rogue up by his collar.

"Where the hell is Lucy and you're stupid gothic-looking leader?"

"Hideout...middle...forest," Cobra muttered out unevenly.

Natsu dropped him onto the ground and impaled the rogue with his throwing knives. No sooner did the knives pierce Cobra that his body began withering away into ash. For good measure, Natsu stabbed the snake with one of his kamas.

He sighed, falling on his butt. His onyx eyes scanned around, searching.

"Right, now where the fuck is the middle of the forest?"

Lyon was just about done with the stupid forest when he came across the Oracion Seis's hideout by accident.

"Well, I say..." he muttered under his breath.

It was an island surrounded by a large body of water. Two sides were surrounded by large cliffs with waterfalls. He happened to be on the other side (thank god), which was densely populated with trees. He took a step forward when Racer suddenly appeared.

"Surprise," the rogue chuckled.

Before Lyon could even react, Racer punched him, and the silver haired prince flew back and crashed into several trees.

The hell, I couldn't even sense him! Lyon analyzed.

He quickly ducked and rolled out of the way as Racer suddenly appeared with a readied ax kick. The area he was just in was nothing but rubble.

"Ice Make: Eagle!"

A greenish-blue magic circle appeared, and several eagles out of ice speedily flapped their way toward Racer. The rogue easily dodged and sent a combo of punches and kicks to Lyon. He was barely able to dodge each one before he quickly distanced himself from Racer.

"You have to be faster than that if you want to keep up with me," Racer stated with a smirk.

Lyon grit his teeth. This guy's speed was ridiculous. Even Gray had to copy Erza's agility swords to be able to keep up with Racer, and even then he couldn't land a hit. There had to be a weakness somewhere.

"If you daze off like that, you'll be left in the dust," Racer cackled.

"Ice-Make: Hedgehog!"

Spikes of ice protruded from Lyon's form and pierced Racer's fist as he punched him. The rogue screamed in agony and retracted his mutilated hand from the spiked ice. Seeing that Racer was distracted, Lyon pulled another move.

"Ice-Make: Snow Tiger!"

A tiger formed out of the ice and went barreling toward Racer to bite his head off, but he dodged at the last second.

"That was one nasty trick you pulled there..."

Lyon smirked. "I've got plenty more up my sleeve."

"Hn, we'll see about that." Racer crouched down into a low stance. "Gear Change: Red Zone."

A red magic circle appeared beneath him and bright light illuminated his form. Racer grinned wickedly. Now, he'd be even faster.

He flickered and disappeared before reappearing in front of Lyon and shoving a forceful kick along his iced spikes, breaking them off. He then flickered all around the confused ice vampire delivering blows everywhere. He finished with a powerful uppercut to the jaw. While sailing through the air, Lyon noticed the birds in the sky went by faster than normal. His eyes widened in realization as he figured it out. He then whispered under his breath, "Ice-Make: Clone..." before he hit the ground.

"You didn't honestly think I'd use the good stuff so early on, did you?"

Clone Lyon groaned and sat up, wiping a small trickle of blood running down the side of his mouth. He panted, holding his body up with his arm.

"You pack quite the punch," Clone Lyon muttered, rubbing his chin.

"Don't tell me that's all you got?"

Clone Lyon chuckled. "On the other hand, I've figured you out. I know what you're weakness is."

Racer looked surprised, almost nervous even. "What did you say?"

"I noticed while you just punched. Because the force of your punch was so great, you sent me flying, flying out of the perimeter of your magic. I noticed the birds were flying way faster than the should've been. That's when I realized you're so-called speed was nothing but a farce. You're just as slow as the rest of us. The only reason you seem so fast is because you change everyone's perspective of time. You slow them down. You have nothing but Slowing Magic."

"So what?" Racer growled. "You're in my perimeter."

Clone Lyon chuckled once again. "If you weren't so busy being arrogant, you probably would've noticed I'm not the real Lyon."

Racer's eyes widened behind his speed goggles. He took a whiff of the air, and indeed, the Lyon is front of him didn't have the real Lyon's scent.

"What the hell?!"

"I've just bought myself time to get out of your perimeter," Clone Lyon explained. He pointed behind Racer.

The rogue's eyes literally bugged out of their sockets when he saw a giant ice geyser about half a mile away. He could now sense Lyon's presence there because of the magical build-up.

"Ice-Make: Sonic Snow Dragon!" the real Lyon shouted.

A dragon formed out of the ice and went spiraling at an intense speed toward the unprepared and utterly shocked Oracion Seis rogue vampire. His goggled cracked from the intensity of speed and magic pressure, even from far away. It was too fast for him, it was out of his perimeter. Before he could even blink, the ice dragon crushed into him, and he could feel every bone in his body break. He saw nothing but darkness.

Lyon's clone dissipated into ice shards while the real Lyon sat atop his ice geyser holding a piece of ice to an already forming bruise under his jaw.

"Man, that one really hurt," he grumbled.

Erza's narrowed eyes scanned the dense forest before her. She could sense someone watching her.

"Come out! I know you're there!" she called out.

"Hmm, not bad," Angel said, walking out. "So, you're Titania Erza?"

The scarlet-haired huntress only responded by pulling out her sword.

Angel smiled. "I'll take that as a yes." She giggled. "This should be fun."

Erza was already on her and sliced her sword right through the surprised rogue. There was a resounding poof, and instead of Angel were two little blue floating creatures. The scarlet huntress widened her eyes. She was so sure she had her!

"My, my, impatient are we?" Angel giggled. "I see you've met Gemi and Mini."

Erza frowned. Gemi and Mini? She watched the two little creatures swirl in the air and float around. Then it dawned on her. ...Gemini? Then that means. She clenched her jaw. A celestial summoner? This meant she'd have to take them down fast. Angel didn't exactly seem like the type to get her hands dirty, meaning she hid and shielded herself behind her summons. Her close combat skills must be poor, and that's where she excelled most. Speed would be her best bet. And strength... Erza concluded as she noticed Angel's body was not trained.

Erza wasted no time and changed her regular broadsword into a lethal katana.

"Oh, looks like someone serious," Angel observed with a smirk. "Let's see what you're made of Titania."

The rogue jumped off the thick tree branch and landed a fair distance away from the battle ready huntress. The smirking vampire motioned her finger for her to come at her. And that's exactly what Erza did. She had a direct hit; she was only a few centimeters away from swiping Angel's head off, but suddenly instead of angel, Wendy was there.

Erza stopped dead short of decapitating her head off. She suddenly felt Angel behind her.

"That's a dirty trick," the red-head growled, dodging an elbow to the neck.

"There are no rules to winning a fight, dear Fairy," Angel chided. "It just matters that you...win." Her eyes gleamed wickedly. "Capricorn! Leo!" she summoned.

Two golden magic circles appeared and floated in the sky. Golden light shot out of them and formed into two solid forms. One was a spiky orange haired guy in a suit, and it appeared he had...cat ears? The other one would have caused Erza to laugh if the situation wasn't so dire. It was a goat in a suit as well.

"I wish you the best of luck, Titania. If you win, you can fight me," Angel snickered.

Before she knew it, the two celestial beings came onto with unprecedented speed and power. Erza barely dodged two golden laden fists of magic from the stars themselves. She could only evade their series of kicks and punches before she became overwhelmed. She felt Capricorn's kick connect to her stomach and then she was flying. She caught herself and twisted so her feet landed on the upcoming tree and transformed her single katana into two. She transferred the power of Capricorn's kick to her legs and burst off the tree with incredible power that eventually tore the tree from the ground. She flashed between them and sliced through their bodies.

"Impressive," Angel commented. "But what makes my pureblood magic different from others is that it is from the heavenly bodies. Only a pureblood themselves can beat me, though they barely can. I'm sorry to say your attempts to defeat me are futile."

Erza whirled around to see that indeed both the goat and lion sliced in two from her attack, but they did not disappear back to where they came from. Instead the golden flecks reattached themselves to their bodies and healed their bodies.

"What?!"

Angel laughed. "You're face is priceless."

Erza glared at her, a plan forming in her mind in record time.

She transformed her blades once again but back into the ones created to enhance her speed tremendously. The determined huntress then launched herself at the laughing rogue, swords ready. Faster than her summons could react, Erza was before Angel and plunged her sword into the rogue's stomach. It wasn't long until Angel's body began to wither into ash and for her summons to dissipate into gold dust as well, just like the scarlet huntress thought.

"You...bitch..."

Erza sneered at her. "Anything to win, right?"

Being a good tracker had it perks. If he wasn't, Gray wouldn't have found the hideout as soon as he did. He first tried to follow Lucy's scent, but it was like it just disappeared off the face of the planet. Lucky him that he marked her, so instead of following evidence and leads, he went with his gut this time, and he could have never been more impressed.

He examined the compound from the waterfall he was standing upon. It was pretty much the center of the Worthwood Sea. A predictable yet ideal place to have a hideout. Gray closed his eyes any could definitely sense Midnight in the compound. He could get a whiff of Lucy, but it was barely noticeable. As for the others, his brother was north from him on the other side of the compound amongst the densely populated trees. Natsu was far east of him. Erza south. Wendy, Sherry, and the Trimen even further south. Jura was west along with Ichiya. He could no longer sense the other members of the Oracion Seis, which meant...they were eliminated.

Gray clenched his jaw, eyes hardening as he stared at the compound.

Now, it was Midnight's turn.

His midnight blue eyes widened in surprise when he saw Midnight exit the compound and almost lounge casually, as if he was expecting his presence. Gray wasted no time and appeared before the rogue vampire he hated with every fibre of his being.

Midnight smirked. "Nice seeing you again. Though I wasn't so sure after Cobra's venom."

Gray glared at him. "Where is she?!"

It was strange. Even being this close, he couldn't smell Lucy. It was like she wasn't even there.

A breeze passed, and that's when Gray smelt it. Her scent was all over Midnight.

"What did you do to her?!" he growled.

"That's no way to greet someone," Midnight chided. "But if you insist... Klodoa."

The staff in his hand glowed and a murky green magic circle appeared. A blackish-green beam shot out until it morphed into Lucy's unconscious form.

Gray's eyes widened in horror.

Lucy was beaten and bruised, horribly so. There were dark blue and purple bruises on her wrists, thighs, and neck. Her left arm was bent at an odd angle as well. Dry tears were on her cheeks. It was when he saw her ripped clothes when he lost it.

"Why so quiet all of sudden?" Midnight jeered.

Gray's eyes were shadowed beneath his hair.

"Oh?" Midnight grinned wickedly. "Don't tell me she's your...mate?"

Gray's magic surrounded his form. Around him, the air dropped thirty degrees. Because his magic build-up was so intense, the ground beneath him was cracking.

Midnight knew he was asking for a death wish, but he couldn't help but jab him once more. "It was too bad she was screaming your name and not mine."

Gray snapped his deadly eyes to him. They were almost psychotic. "I'm going to kill you."

It wasn't just a threat, but a promise.

A/N: Well, hope you liked that. I think after this there are like...one or two chapters left. Not completely sure. Anyway, let me know what y'all think, and thanks for supporting all my stories guys. It means a lot!
